This is a somewhat saddening picture of a city which recently endured a nuclear meltdown. Not many people want to live in an irradiated city which only has menial industrial jobs anyway. Americans call it the Detroit of Europe while locals just call it a sad series of coincidences that killed a fantastic city which seemed to have been going somewhere. The mayor recently committed suicide after discovering his wife was cheating on him and that the entire city disliked him. The pressure just must have been way too great. Elections for a new mayor are in the process, but with how things are going the city might just hand itself over to the federal government so that maybe, just maybe the city can get some help. Already there are posters throughout neighboring cities asking for donations to clean up the nuclear site and the city which seems to be going nowhere. I hope you enjoyed this small entry. I probably won't have a follow-up

  4. History of Laromia-Part 1 A long time ago in the year 1650, a group of immigrants from the country of Tantona were on a ship fleeing from the country's dictatorship. They were wanting to see freedom. They traveled west on the East Ocean, which no one has travled west before. After 3 months of traveling of sailing across the East Ocean, they saw in the distance a small island. They have found land!! They stopped on this small island for the night and named it, " Laromia Gate " for which they named after their capitan and leader of the group. The next day, they got back on the boat and they came upon a mountain range in the distance. This would be their future home, Laromia! They made their first settlement, "Pinskie". Which still stands today. Today Laromia is a growing nation, powerful and wealthy. Our motto, "For the people, for the future" will always stand forever. A peaceful nation, sitting pretty on oil exports makes Laromia very, very wealthy -This was a brief introduction to how Laromia came to be. Laromia became a independent nation on August 5th, 1712. 5. Well After much awaited time, I finally got a chance to update the CJ. Since Manhattan is soo huge, I decided to make 2 parts instead of jamming everything into 1. This CJ starts early in the morning. 3a.m. to be exact. It is the dead of night and the late night subway isnt even running. Being seen at this time by someone else is rare. Larger corporations downtown tend to leave lights on overnight for no apparent reason. Maybe they want people to think they're rich? Before the sun rolls in, the fog decides to occupy the streets. While the fog is still out, the commuters arrive at their primary subway station on their way to work. Dawn quickly arrives and the streets are suddenly once again filled with life. The sun is out but many are indoors working in there tiny compact cubicles. Noon arrives and many go on their lunch breaks. The McDonalds' on Fish Street becomes packed with people. Many order takeout and eat at the park when the sun is out so they can enjoy the beauty. The park is the only green area for many blocks surrounding the area. The tight compact city living for some is bad for thier emotion and health. In the eastern side of Lower Manhattan, homes like these are beyond common. Being lost is pretty common by most travelers. Decaying buildings is becoming a real problem for many. The sun begins to set and people check out work to once again fill the subways. Streets turn empty and the cycle repeats. Comments? P.S I'm aware of the lack of cars. The problem has been fixed and it will be not be a problem on the next update.
  6. Gothenburg grew rapidly during the 1600s and 1700s and soon became one of the great trading cities in Scandinavia. The city is situated at the Göta River annealing, which gave the city a strategic military position, when it controlled the river and the sea between the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish coasts. Gothenburg is located in the sunk land which led to many buildings and defenses collapsed when the "ground" given way to the heavy structures. As the city grew bought one expert from the Dutch, who helped the city build its many channels. In this seen we created a stronger foundation and you could begin building larger stone houses and the like. The architecture in the 1600s and 1700s was inspired by the invading peoples from Holland, Germany and France.

  7. Your votes have been cast, and I've made my decision; it's time to build a city! You can see what I've built so far in this little teaser video (which should be watched in HD, or else it looks a little weird): Hope you enjoyed the show. Please comment and tell me what you think!

  9. In this update, we take a look at a satellite view of New Brunton at night. As you can see, most of the lights are where the major cities are. You could probably guess as well that most of the metropolitan areas are built around the coast of the country. Sadly, that's all for this update, we'll see u again next time for another part.

Heres an Aerial view. Large urbanized metro area. Its the big time. Closely based off the patterns of Houston, Texas. Northern Suburbs that went verticle and southwestern suburb that hasnt exploded upward as much. I continue to eat up farmland haha. Industry is mainly on the west and southeast sides.
  11. First off thank you all in general. Not much of an entertainment district, as said more like Olympic Park xD meh, I just hope I win the Equestrian Sports, Nilia and Albian is a country of horsemen and all xD Good luck to the AINers Really rarely seen =o didn't know that xDxD Thanks good luck to you too Here is the Regional view of the part of Taichung Province I am working on, as you can see from before there has been a lot of work... Starting with a new addition to it, the 2nd airport of the area Kytona Airport. In the top corner you can see actual Kytona Village, shown later, but the main focus is the crowded terminal of Kytona Airport which is planning to add a 2nd terminal and runway some time. Here is Kytona Village, very small but it's only a farming village for the fields around the airport, because of this village at 11pm to 4am, there are no flights out of Kytona because of noise pollution from it, planes still come in though. Across from the Kytona Airport Tile on the far end, is a continuation of Taichung into the suburbs and residential areas of Taichung. To start I show you the Cricket grounds we have, it isn't the Pearl Arena but it is a major stadium in the cricket league. As you seen we have a large rail network, with Taichung as a major, major hub and with a hub comes a railyard for trains not in service. It's empty right now but it should be full soon-ish. And with the railyard comes the start to the industrial section, mostly fuel storage, the main industrial area will be somewhere else but this is a small part of the industrial part of Taichung. Hope you enjoyed it. Jesus how hard it was, crashing every 10 mins or something unless I take it reaaaaal slow. I'm a fast computer user though so =/

Larger view (The map is from the STEX and edited by me.) The name Menomonie is the name of the American Indian tribe that first inhabited the area centuries ago. The region is set along the shores of the (fictional) Great Lake Chippewa. Located in the Upper Midwest, the area is known for its water recreation, rural-suburban feel, and good quality of life. Four counties in all make up the greater Menomonie region: Michigan, Grant, Wood, and Pierce. The largest municipality is the City of Preston located in Grant County and the smallest is the Village of Tipler in Wood County. Chosen by the voters of the four counties the in mid-70's."Menomonie" was selected for the name of the governmental body formed to better represent and promote the villages, cities, and counties to the state and nationally. The body is chaired by four permanent members and three at-large representatives, all must be residents of region. Agency responsibility's include tourism promotions, transit administration, wastewater treatment, regional airports*, low income housing**, parks and recreation planning, and developing long-term land use framework. 15. Welcome back, dear readers! Today will be a very big update, I'm warning you now! See, we're so far behind in the updates from where I'm actually playing that I want to push through some of these earlier updates (also, there's a noticeable increase in the quality of my city-building skills since I started this, and I want to get to that stuff!) so for the next several updates, expect a faster pace, maybe a little less detail, and way more ground being covered. Let me know what you think of this approach. Anyway, to get us started, let's take a look at what that little commercial area looks like nowadays: Ugh, was this really before I got the zebra crossing mod!? It's getting there! Sooner or later I'm hoping to see some wall-to-wall development here. But, at this time, I don't think I had any in my plugins folder! And here's where we'll be working today. Looks as though the terraforming crew has already started work for the day! NEEDS MOAR FLAT SPACES! So, I had this brilliant plan that I would make some one-way roads connecting to the avenue in a nice, smooth transition. Only one problem: ...It doesn't connect! Meh. Easily solved. 'Scuse me. Just moving a road here. Nothing to see. THERE we go! A small suburb just north of the commercial area will fit the bill nicely: Take special note of how horribly the blazing white sidewalks clash with... everything. And a little plaza to fill that otherwise awkward triangle created by the avenue. Notice how awesome it would look if the avenue's sidewalks were actually picking up on the whole "medium and high-density zoning" part. Yep. Those diagonal jaggies sure are beautiful. Heading back down toward the water, we need an access road for this side of the harbor. Terraforming for an AVE-2 down to the coastline. Connecting it up... Completely useless parallel route? You betcha! A little extension of the seaside village from the other side. Those little houses have a gorgeous view... See that little bit way over on the right? The blank square with nothing in it? It was giving me... problems. Nowadays, I know how to fix it, but at the time I had no idea how. That'll be another tidbit for finalizing the city tile. While we were building, a suburb popped up! Here's a little overview of the area. Seems I missed a little and clipped off that brand-new suburb we just built... oops... you can see it peeking out at the top right. Hum, still a few bare spots to fill in... Let's start with a hospital! We need one of those. A little plaza... ...and a little church! Slowly but surely, this little area is starting to look almost good... And to wind out this update, a little teaser... Catch you later, folks!
  16. Well, as our developer grew old, he decided that he might as well give his son an "Around the Region Vacation", So he did...... As the cruise ship pulled up for a close shore pass, Leif pulled out his camera and snapped a pic of the historic lighthouse of the Land of Ports, aptly named as it was. Then the Coast Guard ordered us to stop and we spent about an hour while they went through our papers, they said we were good to go. Then we docked at the cruise ship port, and I went to find a car to rent at the local rental shop. I ended up renting a Mercedes Mclaren SLR Black edition, but Just drove it to the HSRP station. The train was soon on it's way. We also passed through the downtown and by the casino. Then we went to our hotel. After getting off the train of course. At the hotel we realized that there was not much else to do, so he called a cab, arrived at the airport, and went home.

  18. Human Transit Corporation Since 1930 Case Study: tTram / Celebrating tTram's 110th Anniversary Before building Sepulchral City's rapid transit system, let's study on a city in the Free State of Torbury, who implements light rail transit, since the year of 1965 (the second city in the Free State to implement rapid transit) Background Information City of Torton (Population 79,000) situates on the southern shores of Watersauga Harbour. Torton is the third biggest city in terms of population in the Free State. However, combining with the City of Appington (Population 54,000) on the opposite shore of Exterior Port and the City of Springborough (Population 31,000), the metropolitan area forms the second largest metropolitan area in the Free State. Daily commutes and travels are common between the three cities (or the tri-cities region) Figure 1. Satellite view of the Greater Torton Area (the city on the mainland is Torton, on the island immediately across from Torton is Appington, and Springborough on the furthermost island. Figure 2. Greater Torton Area's location (Figure 1 corresponds to the area boxed in yellow) relative to the entire Free State. History Torton is among one of the first settlements in the Free State, and the first city to join the Confederation of the Free State in the late 1930s. It remained to be the second largest city in the Free State, after the capital Torbury. However, with the territory dispute immediately south of the city and relatively poor urban planning, the population growth of the city has been stagnate for the past couple of decades, and recently, the City of Pinecross replaced Torbury as the second biggest city. Despite of that, Torton still remains to be the most densely populated city in the Free State. And given its large population base, a strong demand for rapid transit has been created. As such, a light rail transit system tTram was formed in 1968 (back then this idea was innovative), and several upgrades and expansions of the systems have been performed. However, with the stagnant growth of the population, regrettably, HTC Greater Torton Division is easily ignored. About tTram tTram is numbered (and known to public by numbers) from 2001 to 2006. In fact, the entire 20xx series have been reserved for the tTram system, however, currently only 6 lines exist. Route 2001 - Frontline <> Packaging Plant (travels along Riverside Road)
Route 2001A - Frontline <> Torton International Airport (travels along Riverside Road)
Route 2002 - Ching Fung Au <> Torton International Airport (travels along Yue Pai Road)
Route 2003 - Oil Refinery <> Lei Yue Mun Terminal (travels along Wellington Road and Clear Water Bay Boulevard)
Route 2003A - Oil Refinery <> Pak Shing Kok (travels along Wellington Road)
Route 2004 - Packaging Plant <> Kennedy Town Terminus (travels mostly along Argyle Street)
Route 2005 - Appingbury / Cheung Ka Kai <> Torton International Airport (travels along Residence Street)
Route 2006 - Kennedy Town Terminus <> Torton International Airport (travels along King's Road)
Disadvantages Overtime, the capacity of tTram has reached a saturation point (each tram carries about 256 to 400 passengers) And with its relatively slow speed (average speed < 60 km/h), the tTram system's attraction as a rapid transit system is drastically decreasing. There have been talks of replacing the LRT with metro since the 2030s, however, no progress has been made since then (it is now the end of the 2070s). Figure 3. The current system map of tTram Figure 4. Route 2001's tramway near Boundary and MacDonald Stations in the year 2015 (~ 60 years ago) Figure 5. The tTram system on Appington Island in the year 2012. Notice that back then Route 2002 terminates at Presto, it has since been extended to Ching Fung Au. Also, notice that Route 2003 (which travels along Wellington Road) does not exist back then. Figure 6. Current-day Routes 2004 (along Argyle Street) and 2005 (along Residence Street). Notice the number of passengers waiting at tTram stops are quite high (despite service level has not turned to unsatisfactory yet) Figure 7. Current day Route 2001 (along Riverside Road) and Route 2004 (along Argyle Street) near Argyle West tTram Station. Figure 8. Current day Interior Port and Exterior Port, which also shows the relative locations between Torton (on the left) and Appington (to the right). Figure 9. Appington Channel separating the Mainland from Appington Island. The image also shows Route 2001 along Riverside Road (near Harbour, Appington Village, Wellington West tTram stations), and Route 2003/2003A along Wellington Road (near Wellington West, Sham Shui Po, Teddington/Lung Wui tTram stations). Figure 10. Springborough Island (the furthermost island in the metropolitan area), and shows Route 2001's service in the City of Springborough. ------ And that's it for this entry! Preview of our future projects Figure 11. Expanding our service coverage as always, we are proposing to establish a new anchor city at Newborough (we will explain our definition of an "anchor city" in a later post about our company strategies), and we are proposing a new rail link between Pinecross (the second biggest city in the Free State) and this new anchor city at Newborough! So stay tuned! -------- Remember to check our route map section (UPDATE #2), as we'll update that regularly. Update 2080 is on the way, with MANY NEW RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM MAPS! We are online! (Along with other regions of mine). Check out http://gravenhurst.wikia.com Currently, Torbury only has ~10 articles out of the 159 articles. The other articles are about other regions.

Fit 1x03: Civic In the glow of the pre-morning sky, I headed towards Celia's Taco Stand. It had been another restless night, which also meant that I had spent the latter part of the night in discomfort from hunger pains. Some breakfast would do me good. I walked up to the counter. Celia had just finished opening up her stand. As usual, I was to be her first customer of the day. "Good Morning, Celia." I mumbled my usual greeting. "I'm not Celia, Mr. Mayor. I'm her daughter, Celia the Second." I looked up and took a closer look at the woman behind the counter. Indeed, she looked quite similar to Celia, but there were some differences - her cheeks were more gaunt, the shape of her eyes somewhat off. "Ah. I didn't know she had a daughter. How are you doing? Is Celia sick?" "You could say that... she died yesterday. A severe imbalance of the humors, the doctor said." "...Oh my. I am so sorry for your loss." I could not help but feel sorry for Celia the Second, although I was unsure of what death really meant here. I still had not thought of a way to discover whether I was wandering around a video game or an alternate reality. But should it really matter if the sims are virtual or not? Death still robs others of those it takes. Some other things nagged at the back of my mind. Celia was not very old, barely pushing 40. And she had died of an imbalance of the humors? Humorism had been discredited hundreds of years ago! Perhaps biology works differently here. Or perhaps the sims had somehow yet to progress in matters of science to understand germ theory and proper sanitation. Or perhaps I might have neglected some things while building this city... Back at my office, I checked my hunches. Yes, it was indeed true. This village I had built had no medical services to speak of, to the point that the sims did not even register on the health data map! And they were dumb as a doorknob as well! I did not earn a Bachelor's Degree just to let my sims lead unhealthy, uneducated lives. This could not stand! ____________________________________________________________ Once again, the daily council meeting. "...And so in conclusion, I state that the city must do more to diversify our commerce sector activity. Does New City truly need 10 different car dealerships? That is one for nearly every 200 citizens!" "Thank you, Mr. Dunnerham," Neil said. "Now, is there any other business that needs to be brought before the council?" I motioned for the floor. "Yes, I have a proposal I would like to share." "Of course, Mayor Defacto. What will it be?" I had gotten somewhat used to having everyone look at me when I speak, but it still caused me some discomfort. I cleared my throat and began to speak. "As it currently stands today, the citizens of our town live short, unfulfilling, and sickly lives, having no regular access to doctors, and no opportunity to advance from the economic position they were born into. It is my view that if this is to continue, this city will never rise to the greatness that it can achieve." "It is with this in mind that I believe that this is the best time to open New City's very first schoolhouse and clinic. After some analysis of the city, I believe that the best place to place these buildings is at the northern end of the former site of Farhan's Local Strawberries. We can buy the lot and locate the buildings on the fields. The greenhouse can perhaps be converted into additional classrooms." "I believe that this is an excellent plan, Mr. Mayor. If there are no more additions or changes to be made, we can put this plan up to vote." The vote passed unanimously, as my suggestions always did. ____________________________________________________________ By the next morning, the schoolhouse and clinic were open. In fact, I was not entirely sure that any construction had happened; it seemed they had simply appeared. But of course, this was what the game did. I began to write a note to myself to install the plugin allowing for civic construction, until I remembered that I did not have access to my plugins. This was becoming a bit of an annoying problem. I also noted with satisfaction that some middle class homes had sprung up in response to the heightened desirability around these civic services. I spent a few minutes observing their construction, and then walked back to the village hall. As I walked in, the secretary sitting in the waiting area stood up. "Ah, you're finally here Mr. Mayor. Your Finance Advisor wants to see you, and she seems quite agitated." The secretary had a slightly worried look on his face. "Monique?" Oh dear. I don't remember her ever having anything good to say to me. Sure enough, I found Monique in my office pacing around restlessly. When she saw me enter, she immediately began haranguing me. "Mayor Defacto! What do you think you're doing spending all this money on services? Our budget just took a large hit, and if that keeps happening, we'll be bankrupt!" "Yes, I understand that this is quite a bit more expenses per month, but we are still making near a thousand simoleans a month. In addition, I have adjusted the funding of these services to accommodate the growth that the council has forecasted we will have. We won't need to increase civic funding for a while." "It would work a lot better if we didn't have to fund the school buses or ambulances." Monique said in a huff. "That would cut into their effectiveness though." "Plus," I added, "There was hardly a dent in our funds due to the construction and ongoing costs. We make enough money every month for it to be covered." At this moment, the secretary came in accompanied by a woman with a bob cut. "Mr. Mayor, Bettina Dean has something urgent to report to you." "Yes, what is it?" I did not quite recall meeting Bettina before, but she looked familiar. "Mr. Mayor, there's been a strike. The hospital's been closed down." Ah, she was the Health and Educa... "Wait, what?" Under the hot noontime sun, we observed the protest. "You need to go talk to them, Defacto." Neil Fairbanks said flatly. I eyed the protesters with caution. They looked quite energized and indignant. I really did not want to deal with this. "But, I'm not so good at negotiations or confrontations. I've never had to manage highly emotional and conflicting feelings before." "You do quite well at the council meetings. Wouldn't you agree this is a similar situation? I'm sure their demands will be reasonable. Open a dialogue with them." "All right, I'll give it a try..." I approached the protestors with some trepidation. "Excuse me, what is this all about?" A man in a doctor's coat turned to me. "Mr. Mayor! We demand that our funding levels be increased. There is too much demand for our services, our equipment is old and outdated, and most importantly, we are overworked!" "But you've only been on the job for a day." "That is more than enough to ascertain that these conditions are deplorable. There are far too many sickly people in this town who need care, and yet our current funding levels only allow for two fully qualified professionals: me and Doctor Jurcevic. We need more funding now!" I checked with my tablet on their efficiency levels. It was then that I realized that I had forgotten to set the funding to meet demand, and there were twice as many patients as they could handle. "Fine, very well," I said, "I will double your funding." The doctor's seemed befuddled at the sudden acquiescence, but look gave way to a gratification. "Really? OK then. Let's get back to work everyone!" I could almost feel the heat from Monique's fumings. "Are you absolutely sure this is a good idea, Mr. Mayor? You said we didn't need to raise funding for a while! This will be yet more expenses on our budget." "I'm quite sure. Providing these services will help to attract more wealthy sims and better jobs into this city, further increasing our tax base." "As you can see, the projected demand for higher paying jobs has already gone up, just from the placement of these civic buildings. To be sure, the demand is very slight, but I'm sure that as time passes, we will be able to build up a nice economic base from these beginnings." "Besides," I added, "If we just let them continue striking, they'll probably move their activities over to city hall and cause disruptions there." Seeing that my mind was completely made up, Monique gave up. "I hope you're right, Defacto. We'll be sunk otherwise." Unfortunately, this day was not done yet. As we began to walk back to city hall, a cream-colored station wagon pulled up beside us. The driver rolled down the window to talk to us. "Mr. Mayor? I'm from Foradect. The city council is having a meeting right now, and we need your input on some matters." "Alright then. It's quite convenient that my advisors are here right now. Can you drive us there?" "Of course." I had missed my daily attempt at an afternoon nap. The car was not very comfortable, but all the same I began to feel the drowsiness that came whenever my sleep schedule was disturbed. In spite of the drowsiness, I still noticed that we'd passed the village hall. "Excuse me; I think you just missed the turn." "We're going to the Foradect village hall." Foradect has its own village hall? "What's wrong with the hall at White Tail?" "White Tail's hall is too far from us. I'm sure you would agree that a council meeting should be held close to those who will be affected by the decisions it makes?" He had a point. Still, I wished that we would get to the meeting quickly. Cars in this place seemed to move quite slowly. If I were sprinting, I could probably keep up with them. Foradect's village hall was located just off of the road connecting the town to White Tail. As we got out of the vehicle, I noted that it was very similar in shape to White Tail's city hall. It was however set closer to the street, without any cottages at the front. We went into the meeting room, which only contained several people. A somewhat stout man sitting in the petitioning booth stood up. "Greetings Mr. Mayor. My name is Jeff Lukesworth." "It's nice to meet you Jeff, what's the meeting about?" I hoped the meeting would end soon. I was beginning to feel rather tired. "Mayor Defacto, I have asked for this meeting because I had just discovered that New City has just built a schoolhouse for its children, but the colony has apparently decided to build it mostly for the service of White Tail, with little consideration for Foradect. Upon hearing this distressing inequality in service, I came over from supervising the construction of my pool to ask the council to take up the issue and avoid the shortchanging of the future of our village." I tried to come up with a suitable response, but in my drowsy state my mind latched onto the wrong thing. "You have a pool?" Jeff smiled. "Yes. If you want to use it, I live just down the road from this hall. You can't miss it; it's the largest house on the block." I checked my tablet. It was indeed true. I'd already managed to attract high wealth sims into my city! Unfortunately, I also felt a bit intimidated. Would he pack up and skip town if this meeting went really poorly? "It's rather late," I responded, "I think I'll pass for now. Please continue." Jeff began again. "I chose to live in Foradect due to its quieter surroundings and great environs. However, it's come to my attention that White Tail has just gotten a new schoolhouse. But then this leaves Foradect a bit shafted, as the buses don't come all the way through this fine town of ours, and we don't have our own institution of education. Mr. Mayor, I am petitioning for Foradect to have its own schoolhouse to educate its children, so that they may keep up with their peers in the north." "Don't take from this as an attempt to only increase my personal reputation, or to gain a benefit for myself only. I'm sure you realize that in fact my house is within the bussing limits of the current schoolhouse. I'm doing this for the people of Foradect. This institution will help to enhance the livelihood of our citizens and attract more talent here, which I'm sure is why the current schoolhouse was built." "Your points are well made," I replied, trying to end the meeting quickly. "I guess I can build another schoo..." Monique cut me off. "I'm very sorry Mr. Mayor, Mr. Lukesworth. The budget of this colony cannot sustain another school. Between the costs of transporting the children to school, the additional administrative costs, and so forth, we will be losing money as soon as this building is built." "Well, that's a bit of a shame." Jeff replied. "But all the same, adding this school would help in the development of this colony." At this point, Neil, who had been having a private conversation with Bettina, motioned for the floor. "Perhaps there can be an alternative solution?" Neil said. "Bettina, please explain your proposal." "Well, libraries can also help in increasing the education of sims, not to the same extent as schools, but in the long run we will likely have the funds for them to complement each other. Thanks to lower staff and equipment requirements, they cost less than most educational buildings. There isn't a need for any sort of bussing, either." She gave a glance towards Monique, who after a moment gave a begrudging nod approving the idea. Jeff gave the idea some thought. "...I suppose that will be acceptable, given the apparently dire financial straits of this colony. So, what shall it be Mr. Mayor?" I was rather glad to see agreement come so quickly. "This proposal would work, I think. Let me see where we can put it..." Using the education data overlay, I looked around the map for a suitable place for the library, one where the radii between it and the school overlapped least. My eyes caught a windbreak lining a farm at the southern end of town. "How about here?" "Hm, this does seem like a decent spot. Perhaps a bit too far from the center of town, but then it'll be quiet there, a perfect place for reading. I can accept this proposal." The council accepted the proposal, and the library was put up as the sun set. It indeed just popped up, or perhaps it was only my sleep deprived mind unable to fully comprehend my surroundings? At any rate, I could finally go home for a nap, maybe even sleep through the evening... Click for large image. After a nap, I woke up to find that night had fallen. Tired, but unable to fall back to sleep, I went out for a walk around town, observing the lights coming from the tenements that had come up after the school and hospital was built. Lost in thought, I began to wonder what the lives of the sims in this town was like. Were they happy? Was I being a good mayor to them? It seems that here, people always think that I do a good job, but perhaps I wasn't meeting those that didn't, or couldn't remember them. I was never quite good with names or faces. It had been a long day. I went back to my home, showered, and went to bed. I slept fairly soundly. Next: Awakens I think I might have typed waayyy too much for this update, and the next few have even more pictures! Going to have to let the pictures do more of the talking... Replies: hahei: Thanks for the compliment! Schulmanator: They are indeed, but of course growth brings with it issues that need to be solved.
  20. After a long break from sim city. I (finally) created a new update for Madison. In Riverside, there was a need for jobs, so city council made more industrial zones by the highway and expanded the port. With the expanding industry, there was a need for more power and water, so Riverside bought more power from Madison and built a new water tower by the residential neighborhood. Since industry was expanding rapidly, city council decided to place more industry on the other side of the river. So, plans were brought to city council and were approved. Here is an overview of Riverside.
  21. Hey y'all here's an update on public transit in Hialeah. I used a paint scheme similar to the 1990s SFRTA colors and found an Orion V drawing on the net. I was hoping to get these slapped on buses in game but I have rapidly come to realize that I will need a PC to do any such modeling. (sheeeeeeeeeeeeeet) Anyhow: here's the press release The HTA unveiled its new paint scheme today. The buses purchased from the city of Toronto will get a full makeover. Mayor Beauregard was on hand to board HTA 5099 this morning, the first bus to sport the new colors. The Mayor arrived bright and early to board the first Westbound 90 Hawthorne at Cretaceous Avenue this morning. The mayor was not the first in line however, a line up had already formed for the 5:13 Westbound 90. The mayor jumped at the chance to shake, hands hold babies and pose for pictures. When the mayor asked resident Isaiah Washington who was in line for the bus how he felt about the new colors, Washington angrily mumbled that he had thought up of the scheme 11 years ago and has not received compensation. The mayor offered Mr. Washington a free monthly pass and shortly thereafter Mr. Washington was singing the HTA's praises. The mayor has also been invited to dinner at the Howard household and to a little league baseball game. One reporter at the scene asked the mayor how he felt about this "shameless publicity stunt" The mayor was quick with his rebuttle, calling it rather an "effective publicity stunt" The mayor's approval rating currenltly stands at 80%. The entire fleet is expected to painted by the end of the month. Cretaceous Ave:

Most Alderwoodians work in agriculture or retail, with a lot of people working in Courtland. Alderwood has also had the benefit of western Courtland's technological district spilling over into Alderwood. another handy number guide. West Alderwood. East Alderwood One of the biggest employers of Alderwood is the Roy Harvey Tobacco Mill & Farm. Another major Employer is Bell Software Development, Ironically they are a large anti-smoking supporter, despite being the tobacco mill's neighbour.
