You shouldn't have accepted that uncooked potato when they told you they were out of French fries. I'm so old that light from Vega that currently reaches Earth is younger than me.

It's sort of a derivative accomplishment but an interesting one actually. Flag counter reported that my latest CJ entry was visited by someone based in Seychelles. That's the most exotic country I collected so far. Any of you guys spending holiday there?

I really dig it.

Good morning or afternoon to all, This is a repost of my CJ entry #52, which unfortunatelly was also lost due to ST outage. Here it is again for you to reenjoy. The bad news is that I already overwrote the text file in which I stored the story that this episode presented. I am a little short on time and a little too disappointed to start over so if you don't mind, I'll just post pictures only and call it a day. So sorry... I can provide a quick recap and the highlights to help you understand the context of these pictures though. I will also appreciate if you could again cast your votes in the poll! - The Activator tribe is unable to sell most of their mining and industry products to the Altruists (their only contact so far) due to environmental laws that Altruists enforce - The Activator tribe reached out to the Businesspeople in order to ship such goods out - This new deal accelerated development in Industrious Hills and had positive impact in the form of establishment of Business Class. Both cities are now connected by an air-bridge - The garden city of Tanje governed by the Residents has a small Altruist minority - This minority was largely discriminated against by the elitist and isolationist Residents - The Altruist government embarked on an ambitious plan to establish a large city just outside Tanje, in order to incorporate this small minority into a robust and stable community, effectively, not leaving anyone behind - This new city (Charity Peak) is known for its fantastic natural features including monumental mountain, picturesque waterfront and cozy downtown, reminiscent of cities like Luxembourg or Liege Enjoy. SimCity:Tribalism is also back. This last picture doesn't fit to the current time of year but since it was a part of the original entry, I shall include it anyway.

tutorial Detailed how-to for sustainable SC3K farmland
TheMurderousCricket replied to VetinarisClerk's topic in SimCity 3000
I know, right? Unfortunately I am not aware of any such mod. A workaround, though dirty and only candy-eye, would probably be to create a ploppable farm, accustomed to one's needs. I believe it can be done by reediting some of the unused ploppable buildings.- 11 Replies

1. Introduction This resource is a small but hopefully useful project which attempts to recreate ordinances from SimCity 3000 for use in SimCity 4. SimCity 3000 had a very elaborate system of ordinances, complete with exhaustive descriptions, which provided mayors with an important and powerful city management tool. Half of these ordinances did not make it into SimCity 4 however. Thanks to the ".dll era", it is now possible to recreate these old ordinances and this is what this package is all about. As Penultimo from the Tropico series would say "I've got something for you to sign, and no - it's not my raise again!". Unleash the red tape! This pack contains a recreation of Utilities ordinances from SimCity 3000 and one extra. Special thanks go to @catty-cb for providing extra space that now stores all SC3000 ordinance descriptions. Thank you for your kindness! 2. Installation instructions Please read this section carefully to make sure the new ordinances work for you. Dependencies: Custom Ordinance Exemplar Host DLL (by @Null 45 - whom I'd like to thank for making mods like this possible) Instructions: 1. Download the package 2. Extract contents of the .zip file into "Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\140-ordinances" 3. Launch the game 4. Open the "City ordinances" budget item to use new options (search the bottom of the ordinance list) 3. Uninstall Before uninstalling, it is strongly recommended that you uncheck all custom ordinances in the cities in which you enabled them and resave the cities first. To uninstall, simply remove the files from your "Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\140-ordinances". Important! Some ordinances will become available only after certain conditions are met. Consult the readme section for further information on them. -
Got a quick SC4 question?... Ask here!
TheMurderousCricket replied to City_Slider's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I understand that. But there is always a way to mitigate the problem created by these lots, as I mentioned previously. I was tempted to use tree controllers many times, but the main limiting factor that I find in them is the tree diversity per one "unit" of a forest. From what I read, a single tree controller should ideally consist of no more than 5-6 species (per given altitude, I assume) which is fairly low... With the forest lots I can stack even 20 species in and obtain a very high level of diversity, because no two lots will look alike if prop families are used. -

With these tools I am only limited to use certain types of vegetation that are in any given tree controller and I have no way to, say, change the altitude on which I want some trees to appear from city to city. It is much quicker though, I admit. Besides, any forests planted will always look the same from city to city and AFAIK, there is no possibility to have, say, four God Mode "brushes" that stand for coni, deci, mixed and jungle forests and that means that I still have to use forest lots to add diversity to the natural areas.
