Archades' "Hood": The Borough of Brewster
Every large City has a ghetto... This is Archades' "Hood", Brewster! Enjoy! Shops along Brighton Avenue. Some back-alley graffiti. Note the Brewster and Brighton Avenues El-Rail in the background. The North Border of Brewster, 220th St. The back-alley of Archades-Brewster High School 190th Street Station over Brewster Avenue. The Colorful building is the Brewster Theater. The building of this ghetto with its negative effects sent Archades in to an uproar. My folks Rioted at every moment they had free. But they didn't riot in the Ghetto... they Rioted in the Wealthy sections.... Cardington Riots Cardington Riots Next update: Cardington, Picking up the pieces! - 7

Arrival in Fairburn
Hello followers! Finally, this weekend I got the time to take a few pictures of the newly named region, Fairburn. It was a long and tedious process, but I finally have enough built to start posting! So, without further ado, let's get down to business. It's only fitting we start in the airport, as we just arrived. FRI, or Fairburn Regional Airport was built in 1980, following demand for more travel when the great agricultural boom happened (we'll get to that later). In 2003, a cargo terminal was added, with capacity to move 10,000 tons per year. Last month, the main terminal was expanded, allowing turboprops to park. The upgrade increased the airport's usage from 30000 to 50000 passengers per year. FRI now serves frontier airlines, air canada jazz, southwest, horizon, US airways express and fedex. Here's a few pictures: Next time: Random GLR shots! Bye, folks! - 10

Welcome to the other part of Warrence. Before, we saw the ghetto (Update 1.3). But we will now see another side that was transparent from Hampstead. I present to you the small, thriving, suburban CBD. Not many people commute in and out of the CBD though. Most of the people who work in the CBD live in the CBD. They live in Zaidi Living Quarters (ZLQ). These are many tall apartment buildings owned by the government. All office building's are in walking distance from the ZLQ. We will be visiting the part at the bottom of the mosaic. One of two ways to leave the CBD. Some people who work in the CBD live in the condos to the left. This avenue bridge is another way to leave the CBD. The office buildings. ZLQ in the top of the picture. The first building in the ZLQ, Zaidi Tower. - 6

Deliterri | The Return
Welcome to Deliterri! The capital of Paradise! Deliterri is the capital of Matinenda, that is the most important city/island in the nation. This is the Aurea Convexum, the White House of Matinenda. This is where the President lives and major proposals come to have their fate decided. This is Delagiti University. Only the best come into this university, and they can come from all wealth classes. Matinenda's Socialist Education system makes it possible for a poor child to get in. This is Trenazi Arena. It's used for its AFL team. It used to be a church, but was re-renovated for its AFL team. Though it isn't located on the actual island, it's still considerably close. THIS, is the new Church. Located on Deliterri right beside the university and not that far from the Aurea Convexum. Though Matinenda is secular, many of the Matinendan politicians come here to pray every Sunday. Quite a few people live on and around the capital. Demand for living there is high mostly because of the university and church. But some people get thrills from being close to the politics. French houses occupy the island as well, as Matinenda also contains French cities and uses those houses to make everyone from any city feel comfortable. Alright, that sums up the first Deliterri update. Hope you enjoyed it, criticizing is welcome. Shayden probably will be back, but it won't be updated that often. Okay, enjoy! - 19

Chapter 2: The Bureau
Chapter 2: The Bureau click for full size! “What are you doing looking up my skirt! You’re peeping! Skirt peeper, skirt peeper! Constable!” Max hastily rolled out from under the bench and away from the threatening umbrella. Fortunately for him, before he had time to say anything, the constable arrived – a tall man in blue who seemed to be about 90% moustache and the rest beady eyes. “Constable! This – boy! – was peeping at my sensitive undergarments from beneath that bench!” Truthfully, and considering the age of the victim, this was an outlandish claim. Her general appearance was one of propriety and respectability so stiff that one could beat a presumptuous chambermaid with it. The constable turned and considered the strange specimen with spiky hair and a most insufficient suit that was standing – albeit barely - in front of him. “You’ve no idea where you are, do you boy?” Max shook his head. He didn’t particularly want to open his mouth at this point – who knows what might have come out. The constable frowned at him. “It is my consideration, ma’am, that this boy is very recently fallen to the area, and should be excused breaches in conduct pending transportation to the Bureau.” The Respectable Matron didn’t seem particularly pleased with this development. “These fallen! Why, they get away with absolutely anything around here. It’s victimisation of the cityborn, that’s what it is.” “Nevertheless, madam.” And that, as far as the constable was concerned, was that. It is fairly difficult to argue with a single “Nevertheless”, after all, and the Respectable Matron secretly relished the opportunity to set this castaway ruffian in exactly the right path. She peered down at the boy, who still looked a little green. “Come along then, boy. And if you feel suddenly nauseated, for heaven’s sake turn away from me. I do not want some frightful surface disease. Do you have a name?” Max peeled himself of the ground and told the Respectable Matron that his name was “Max” and then having opened his mouth to speak quickly resolved never to do so again. “Max, then? Hmm. Latin. It’ll do. Up!” She threatened him with the umbrella again. “I’m taking you to the Bureau. And thank you, Constable” she nodded to the sonorous police officer and bustled away in a cloud of brisk purpose. “Right” intoned Max, as he attempted to follow the rapidly moving Matron. “The bureau?” “The Bureau!” corrected the Matron, whose sensitive ears had detected the lack of proper capitalisation immediately. Onto this tram, now - have you not seen one of these before? The Fallen Person’s Bureau. They take in waifs like you and civilise them and” she sniffed, spotting Max’s impending retort “teach you some manners.” The tram route took them past the central station, which the Respectable Matron eyed with considerable dislike. Designed by a Fallen, of all things, and so vulgar! All those arches - spires are the thing. Only an uncivilised Fallen would go for arches over the proper Imperial Spires. “This happens a lot? And where is this place?” “East Carmine. Yes. Too much, in fact, you people get everywhere. Taking jobs and homes from respectable cityborn, voting for the socialists in our elections. No more questions! The Bureau is just a few stops away; I’m sure they’ll tell you everything you need. “ The tram pulled into Hangman's Way Station. It was by now getting on for evening, and the setting sun was casting a tastelessly pink light over the buildings. Sadly, the hue failed to make the Bureau look any less intimidating. Spanning a complex of three separate buildings (with plans afoot to convert the last holdout housing block into yet more office space) civil servants hurried back and forth in frock coats, trailing papers and bewildered people in a colourful variety of clothing. And shapes. Gods, does that one have tentacles? “The Bureau, they’ll take care of you. Main office in the buildings with the large clock tower, and try and avoid making your way underground. I’ve wasted the whole afternoon taking care of you, and I don’t want to utterly waste it by having you fall victim to the Statues, surface-though-you-may-be.” “Good evening” she added, before pushing him out of the tram and retiring to her seat, where she could get back to glaring at youth and arches. "Well." said Max. It about summed everything up. /plot This is where one assumes the Respectable Matron might live. The blocks are comfortable, if a little cramped, but the setting is highly sought after and the nearby terraces have backgardens attached, which is quite a novelty in this New Carnelian. The trains are, however, always late. And they are often late due to the students of this very University, in fact. Through either accidents or intentional shenannigans, the university often seems to be at the heart of any disruptions in the city. The academics, of course, claim that this is the price to pay for scientific advances, and they managed to find that woman. Eventually. Orial, as you can see from the modern building lurking behind the campus, intended to set up an office to keep a watchful eye on the actions of the academics, but have ended up with slightly more than they bargained for. Or rather, slightly less, if one considers the notable abscence of intact windows and the curious habit of secretaries to suddenly catch fire or run screaming into the shrubbery. The price to pay! -

1837 : The Way Forward + replies
1837 : The Way Forward On arrival in Flinders Landing, Robert Hoddle, the new surveyor-general for the colony, set up base in the Town Hall at Tower Hill. After a few trips down to the docks and the backstreets, Hoddle was quite perturbed by the general lack of planning and filth. His first report to the Town Administration went something like this... "On arrival at Flinders Landing, the town sits majestically around a small cove with steep hills and low rise development. The Town Hall and Tower on the hill to the left look over the cove and town below. Unfortunately, this is as good as Flinders Landing gets. Where cattle tracks once cut through the bush you will now find a road, and that's about the only highlight of Flinders Landing's planning. The streets are filled with rubbish, the roads lead nowhere in particular and are unsuitable for a place with any ambitions of being a major city. The only road that leads to the docks is steep sloping and certain to become a traffic sewer unless other connections to the rest of the town are created. There are no water or garbage disposal services, there is no marketplace for the trade of goods and the farms in the central township would be more suitable as additional housing. The central business area is small, walled in by the hills and housing that has seen better days, and lacks any refinement to cater for well to do types, if they would even bother to lower themselves to living in the district. Reorganisation of the roads, town and facilities is of upmost importance...." After 3 months of scouting the district and considering current development and future potential, Hoddle finally had a pla for the central area of Flinders Landing. Surveyor Robert Hoddle leading his team on an exploration around Flinders Landing Cove Current and Proposed layout of Flinders Landing. Key to the maps below Beige = farms Light Green = Residential Dark Green = Scrub/Undeveloped Land Light Blue = Docks Medium Blue = Commercial Red = Civic Buildings Yellow = Industrial Brown = Gardens & Civic Squares Black = Current street network Grey = Proposed street network The Current Layout of Central Flinders Landing Proposed Layout of Flinders Landing Hoddle's Plan : What it hopes to achieve Improved North-South roads of double width to allow for future growth of Flinders Landing.
3 main roads connecting the docks to the town and surrounding areas.
Widen and straighten important roads to improve access.
Allows for future civic structures like a town market and large civic hall.
Increased residiential areas close to the centre of town.
Expanded commerical zones
More parks and gardens for the townsfolk.
Reply to Comments Schulmanator / Jetty Jockey / Terring Thanks for your comments.... The area is definately spreading far and wide with all the farms but it might be time for a bit more development around the central area. I've been doing some experimentation for future developments since the last post a few weeks back so I've now got a good feel for where I want to go next with development... The new improved road layout will help facilitate that. - 9

"The Big Cow": The history of the nickname
This here is a picture of the Farmhouse of John "Big Cow" Yourk, the Mayor of Austin from 1983-1987. At the 1984 City Fair, he put his cow, Bessie, in as the heaviest. She weighed in at 2 tons! The mayor and the cow had won. This cow became the mascot of the city. That's why one of the Cities nicknames is "The Big Cow". ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for reading! Populus, Invasion
As showed in the last CJ entry an unknown airplane flew over "Sweet Lake" Airbase. This airplane was part of a recon airdivision of the Kardakian Army of the Socialist Republic of Kardakia 50 km's west of of Populus and 100 km's south of Imaginia. This was only part of a large force near Populus. With the intention to invade the country. But why do they want to invade this country? for that we have to look at an important part of the history end of the 90's. The Esternav Troubles At the end of 1998, a hard Economic and Political crisis hit populus. The people became poorer and at the Parliamential elections of januari 99 lots of populusians voted for the PCP (Populusian Communist Party) with the hope for economical reforms and an exit after a hard crisis. the PCP won the elections with 51% of the votes and didn't even had to form a coalition with another party to get the majority in the parliament. Altough the brains in the PCP wanted to reform Populus harder as expected to more Soviet like reforms. With help of the 5th Infantry and 6th Armor Division they marched to Esternav where they took control over the parliament and the Presidential House. President Connoras, at that time on visit in Bundesrepublik Schellingen declared Populus in State Of Emergency. Altough the PCP had an army the other divisions (1st infantry,2nd Armor,3d Air and the whole Populusian Marine Corps) were still loyal to the democracy while the 1st and second waited till the army of the PCP would move out of Esternav the 3d air and the PMC rapidly moved from the No-Fly zone above Kosovo to their own country. After 1 week the Loyal Populusian Troops had a vicotry over the Traitors. The PCP members and the 5th and 6th divisions fled to the Socialist Republic of Kardakia. They became part of the Kardakian Civilization and the 5th and 6th Divisions became part of the Kardakian Army. They told themselves they would return to Populus. These events became known as the "Esternav Troubles" End 2011 the Populusians in Kardakia could persuade the Kardakian Governement to invade Populus and on the 13th of June 2012 the plan was started. The Invasion followed after a reconnaisance by Kardakian Jets the Kardakian Marine launced an Ampibhious Assault on the beaches of Kervers Island. Kardakian Ships supporting the Populusian Invasion Kardakian Troops just landed in Settlers Town-South and are fighting the Populusian (Blue) forces. Later the Kardakians took control over the Island of Kervers and Sweet Lake Airbase were captured this was a disaster for Populus because nearly all of the material of the Populusian Army were stored in Sweet Lake. In the afternoon when Kervers got captured, President Savon gave a Speech for the people of Populus President Savon's Speech Dear Citizens of Populus. Our Country is in grave danger. 13 years after the Esternav Troubles a large force of Kardakian and Populusian Communist troops have attacked our peaceful state. We can't stop them, they occupied a large amount of our arms and took over Kervers Island I have ordered all our armed forces to surrender immediately to the Kardakian Mastery. Please, people of Populus, return to your homes and for safety reasons stay there. I've asked the international community to take action against this violent and foulish attack on our peacefull archipelago. Dear Citizens of Populus, help each other during these dire times for our nation. Good will always prevail. But, the soldiers from the "Noorderwijk Military Base" went guerilla and looted the War Reserves of Populus in Noorderwijk and then went south in the Eastern Hills were they formed "The Resistance" altough the battle was unfair because the resistance was armed with weapons from the Vietnam and Korean Wars (OLD!) against an army equiped with the latest pieces of Chinese and Russian Technology. After the invasion the UN came in Emergency Session Together where the USA, UK, The Netherlands and the countries from the continent of Borealia (Imaginia,Bundesrepublik Schellingen,...) asked for an intervention or No-Fly zone in the region because those countries are tradingpartners, but Russia and China were against and used their Veto to stop that. After a week of intense sessions, meetings and news reports Bundesrepublik Schellingen could persuade Moscow and Beijing to allow an NATO liberation of Populus. -Will the liberation finally come? -Will the Kardakians be removed from Populus -Will i stop talking like this? We will all see it soon. - 3

Nighttime in Tyros
Hey, hey, hey everyone!! Although I do have stuff to do this summer, I have manged to include SC4 in my summer for the past month or so, and have been crafting a brand new city for you guys! So, you may be aware of my newest country, Exaletas, hence the CJ name. I am also a member of the Alliance of Independent Nations with this nation. The official flag of the country is at the top of this post, which I also used for my Roumeli CJ last year (I only had one SC4 CJ update last year ). I am starting this CJ like this because I've really been dying to post some pictures and do some photo editing in GIMP, but in later updates, I may throw in short stories, or other exciting twists. But, without further ado, please enjoy Tyros, a city of 289,000 in my newest region, Exaletas! ===================================================================== First off, we'll take a look at the Tyros of the past, when the city had a population of about 35,000, starting with a skyline image. Back then, Roumeli Park was the main attraction in the city, as football is by far the most played sport in Tyros. Tyros is also gearing up for a bid of the summer AIN Games, in which stadiums are needed in plentiful fashion. "The National at Roumeli Park", the other structure in focus, was the most popular hotel at the time. Nowadays, Tyros has more skyline attractions than sports parks and small flashy buildings. Today, the once-prominent skyline is dwarfed for a central business district of international qualities. The city now houses a population of upwards of 290,000. It's safe to safe that Tyros has grown quite a lot. Here's a skyline image of just a couple days ago... There are a few skyscrapers that stand out in Tyros. Multi-National Corporation and the JR Group are major medicine research and banking companies, respectively. Trams and other forms of mass transportation are crucial to the lifestyle of commuters in Tyros. In future updates, we'll delve deeper into the alternative methods of transit. Two of the most prominent members of the Tyros skyline family are the Logistics Shipping Centre located on the left, which is, by far, the largest shipping business in Exaletas. To the right, we see HealthCom, which is the national leader in the supply of pharmaceuticals. Both have much clout in the economic and business worlds of not only Tyros, but Exaletas, as well. Thanks for viewing; I hope you liked your tour of Tyros at night! ~DC
