Hi Simtropolis community, Even this CJ has spanned oly 1 REAL entry, I have decided to stop with this particular city...for now. The UCD, from my perspective, has been planned terribly( for example: I had 2 airports- one national, and 1 international! Crazy!!!) and I am planning to totally redo the UCD. Hence, for now, I have been working on another city, which is yet to be named, but will follow in the tradition of naming so far seen on my CJ. It is GREATLY improved over the UCD, in terms of my advancement as an SC4 player. I have been able to master the game a lot more than before, and have been able to, overall, produce a better final result. I will be debuting this CJ soon, and will follow up with it as I build it. I will also be deciding what to do with the UCD soon. About the new city- it will be a typical American-style metropolis, surrounded by typical American suburbs. It should have a better turnout, and I hope to see continued support from the Simtropolis community! If all goes well with this, and I manage to get the UCD back up and running as I would like, I may apply for the AIN in the future.... but that's a LONG way off. Anyways, be looking forward to a new CJ! Oh yeah, before I sign off, if anyone has suggestions for names, please let me know.... Thanks for viewing!

As the seaports developed richer people moved away ( I was glad because lower weath makes more realistic suburbs). I also made an underwater tunnel to the Porter Island where my commercial zones sprawled. Well that's it for now, me and my AK need to talk about getting extra clips in the recent bullet shortage. And remember- face me kawan who- and whimme gimme yo' face till yo' face turns blue. And if your wondering, that is a picture of a friend- my family comes from Nine Mile (the place where Bob Marley grew up) in the St. Ann's Parish. OH and I am part Crucian. Why did I tell you this? It can help you anticipate what I will develop next.
  4. Coast

As Pasadena enters its 29th year since incorporation, it's time we catch up on some improvements around the city. The new skyline reflects burgeoning growth in the commercial sector and an influx of new residents. Note also the new Roberval Bridge carrying NZ1 across the Salamanca River. It was built in a part of a series of improvements by NZDoT which saw NZ1's route move to a widened 2nd Avenue which was then renamed 1st Av in a large scale renumbering of the area. Note also that development has eked onto Wallis Island. Improvements to the port and the new Pasadena Naval Station: Some of the grittier parts of town persist--I have a fondness for them. With R$$$ demand as high as it is, however, no doubt some developer will soon tear these down: Phase 3 of the River street upgrade is complete. It now provides convenient access from the S and W to 2nd Av and the Roberval Bridge: Wallis Island:

Welcome to the Experimental Micronation of Lytton! Established 1843 Up until recently, this entire area was largely undeveloped. Here we see the construction and intersection of Flintstone and Tinder Drive. The completion of these two roads will connect the town of Lynn to the north and the village of Ridge to the west. What do you say? Shall we head north, or shall we make our way west?
  6. Imagine that you are now in a small town many years ago, in fact, you will be travelling back to October, 1, 1982. In Orlando, Florida, Walt Disney World opens the second largest theme park, EPCOT Center, to the public for the first time, but that is a totally other realm. Mr. John Craddock was a pretty wealthy man who loved to donate money to projects that he saw fit to be completed. Craddock lived in a beautiful home at the corner of Cornbread road and 5th street. The house had actually once been lived in by the mayor of the city until the last mayor moved out to the wealthy neighborhood of Nashborough which is just south of downtown. Craddock's Home. Now Craddock was a well known man and the people around him found him to be extremely happy and friendly, yet, he is also incredibly mysterious. Many people do not believe he is so generous just for a kind heart, but to keep something hidden. You now drive over to the town of Salem The Town of Salem is a typical small American town located along a typical medium sized river, maybe it is the Wabash, maybe it is the Cumberland, you might never know, but what you do know is that you are surrounded by endless fields. Why did you drive all of the way out here? The reason is that Mr. Craddock funded the construction of the bridge here. The bridge is nothing special from the outside, but if you were to learn the history of this bridge then you would be stunned that you had ever been here. This bridge was built to replace a corroded, rotted out wooden bridge which was built in 1802 and was sadly never put on the National register of historic bridges. An old picture is kept at the local library. The John Craddock Memorial bridge is amazing because this is the spot where an enormous terrorist plot was foiled. The plan was to have hundreds of extremist followers walking around Washington D.C. with enough explosive to kill 100,000 people. Why were they in Salem you may ask? Salem is a small town without any snoopy people and is located close to a highway leaving a 3 to 4 hour drive to Washington D.C. John Craddock Bridge has many more legends, some stretching back to the original wooden bridge. Maybe you'd like to to tell you the rest of them?

So Altezza is growing, not quickly but slowly emerging in to a regional hub. The first trainstations have erupted and even the sawmill has gotten it's own rail connection. (there is even talk about a new sawmill as forest reserves are depleting) Altezza has about 13000 people now, up from the previous entry of about 3000. There is a high school and several primary schools and clinics and the aproval of a recreational harbor has made Sims happy who like to explore the Altezza river. A port made the export of farming products possible. The desposal of garbage is done by the carbon filtered incinerator that supplies the town together with wind mills of power. The whole town is still reliant on it's abundant forest reserves, farming and small businesses. Hope you like it, any tips more than welcome!!

So you think you know the story of Aladdin as told by Disney? Two people separated by societies classes, but fall in love regardless because of their love for adventure and to the break social norm. Ahh, but does the real Agrabah where these two live, actually look like, what did the animated story decide to leave out? In truth the real Agrabah is not that happy medium size city in the middle of a vast desert, but it is much more. The City of Agrahbah City, the immense capital of the Islamic Empire of Agrahbah. Ruled by Sultan Ag-Ali, with the help of his most trusted adviser Jafar, who is also the CEO of the Central Bank of Agrahbah. Sultan Ag-Ali's daughter Princess Jasmine, one of two children of his, but next in line to the throne. She is seventeen years old and in a few short months she will be required by an ancient law to be wed on the day of her eighteenth birthday. However though she has made it tough to be wed, as every fine young man who has come to try to take her hand in marriage leaves the palace furious. The City of Agrahbah City is divided into nine sections, simply referred as: North, South, East, West, South East, South West, North East, North West, Center Agrahbah. The section where Jasmine and her family (the Salton and brother Rajah) live in called Central Agrahbah, the financial hob of the city and country. Aladdin, eighteen years old, whose parents were murdered for unpaid debts loaned to them by a gang. Since the age of nine Aladdin has fed him self from stealing from the gardens of the few well off who live in industrial, polluted, West Agrahbah. West Agrahbah's the most crime ridden part of all of Agrahbah, where gangs run amok and murders of the daily norm. The most infamous gang that rules over this section of the city is the Agrahbah Nine who have those who cross their path of total control, murdered in the most heinous ways. Aladdins' parents were one of those killed by the Agrahbah Nine

Okay this is my fist ever city journal so it will be nowhere near perfect or anything. This is the beginnning of my construction of the Northgale Isles. I am starting on the mainland with a small town called Ivrox coast. It will start small and grow bigger. Here is what I have so far: The main road of the, well, hamlet I suppose. It will become bigger in time. This is the windmills where the village gets it's power from. It also includes a substation. The roads are trecherous in winter because of rockfall. Future plans for the village. Build a little chuch and school Make it generally larger. In the future it will have a ferry terminal to other islands and parts of the mainland. However I've not made any of those yet. And that is what I have so far. If anyone has any suggestions/comments I am welcome to hear them. Also I'm thinking of using a new terrain mod. Any suggestions?

This is very rocky terrian and requires some hiking skill, but well worth it for the senery alone. Another look at the launching site. One day in Bob Town... Billy Joe: Mayor Joe? Mayor Joe: Yes Billy Joe? The cheese factory is running out of cheese. So tell them to make more cheese. But they said the cheese farm is on fire so they can't get cheese. Tell them to put it out then. There's no firefighters though. Oh. Okay. Everyone is mad because there's no cheese now. Not my problem.       And everyone died. THE END P.S.: No one got their cheese.
  12. The commuter train terminus station in Santa Leon is located near the soccer(football) stadium and CBD. This is the place where you can get onto a train to easily travel through the valley without dealing with traffic problems. In between Santa Leon and Angostura is a narrow pass between the mountains which contains a highway- unfortunately, this highway is pretty much the only way to get from Angostura to Santa Leon, meaning a lot of people use it. For that reason, the commuter railroad was built. Thankfully, a new road with tunnels going through the mountains has already been approved for construction as well. The region around Santa Leon in the north island is mostly a dry subtropical climate. The valley west of Angostura is known for producing a lot of wine among other things. This is the station in Angostura. The city of Angostura is known primarily for its university, the largest in the country. It is also among the largest cities in Guaracay. The city has grown largely due to its status as a suburb of Santa Leon, with office buildings that have risen along the city's main avenue connected to the highway. The area also has a lot of high-tech and manufacturing industries. The city also has its own little old town area, with a cathedral too. The most iconic building is the original university structure. Behind it are several large buildings that consist of classrooms and student housing. The commuter train goes farther even than Angostura, while eventually ending in the valley west of the city. Due to the limits in space in the area, much of the city sprawl has had to squeeze its way through the valleys of the mountains and towards the west, where the land is less rugged. Thanks for reading!

Those sims, bad, bad. They are quite demanding. Pun, do you see it? Never mind that. I have a large space in the district of New Saint Ralph called Zeus. I consider my region one big city and my cities and districts in my one big city. Zeus District is very promising. In just one corner connected to a huge amount of other district already has 400,000 sims. Problem is, sim complain of unemployment, despite all the jobs available. I have a lot of transit types, monorail, avenues, highways, rail and elevated rail and subway systems. So, I'm combatting commute times. What I hate is that these potential employers abandon their buildings that took forever to grow and this saddens me. I suppose I'll just work on surrounding districts to create me demand and rebuild the skyscrapers.
  13. Finally over the past sim month, Seam City has had recent big development, population figures stand at about 700 sims. Here is the main area of development: Now here is the first industrial area: That was all for this entry so I hope you enjoyed.
  14. There is a new city fire station. Here it is with a medium plaza: And more commercial jobs, too.
  15. Final Plan for the Port of Didicas :D I'll try to post every facility soon

Ettlebrook County A Whole New Region! For the past couple months this city journal has been very idle, but that is about to change! I've started a whole new region for Ettlebrook county, and using SC4Terraformer I've created a custom map, here is a little information about the map. 12x12 Large City Tiles
    Large Lake
    Small "Mountain" / "Hill" Chain
    Oceanside City Tiles
    River
    Many Small Streams
    Islands
    A Few Sink Hole
OH AND THE BEST PART! A Harbour
Now, there is a list of things I am hopefully going to include in the region, a few of them are listed below. A High Speed Rail system, using the "High Speed Rail Project" MOD found on the LEX
A USA Style of Highways, Interstates, and County Roads, using the "Real Highway" MOD found on the LEX
A INTERCITY Express System connecting my larger cities
A very developed rail system designed after railway systems near my home town of De Smet, used both for Passenger and Freight travel. (Using the NAM-RAM Railway Addon Mod" found on the LEX
My #1 Goal is to have a realistic working and looking region, which means some city tiles will be just farm fields, leaving little to showcase.
Here is the thing about my city journal, I'm going to use it as if it were a showcase of the county through time starting and staying in the idea that it is the 1990's-2000's. And it'll kinda work like every time you read an entry it's as if it were a trip to the museum of the town/city/area showcased and you were reading off an exhibit. This in mind there will also be a counterpart to the city journal where it will be a journal of what the mayor or appointed person of the showcased region would keep about what has happened to the city/town/area. QUESTION OF THE ENTRY! What would you add to either list I have presented to you? I want your input! UNTIL NEXT TIME, JKRMC SIGNING OFF! (Not really, I never sign out on my personal computer. ) OH, I almost forgot, I wrote this all while listening to a song, the specific song being "Shake Tramp - Marianas Trench". If you are not against swear words, you should listen to this song!

  18. In the wilderness you will find the remnants of hunters. This river's bend is host to a watch tower. There is no wildlife at the moment, however, the river is filled with fresh catfish which local bears usually feast on. Thanks to Deena Harbertroutsniffin for the photo. It looks like a lonely traveler has taken an expedition into the outer reaches of the city of NewSorgun. He must not have packed up far because he seems to be without gear. BLAST IT! This is what any naturist wants to avoid. It seems that many years ago a person dumped an entire car here in the forest. Of course at the time the river didn't flow directly through here, instead the river flowed around a small homestead which was owned by a man named Farmer Ben. You can see a wall from those early days.

  21. Replies: 111222333444- Thanks! I try and keep it fresh Mastof- Glad you liked the mix! Thanks for the comment! SimCoug- Oh, don't think I'm not embarrassed by them. Heck, there are some things I built in Condor Bay that I'm not proud of! But it's good to look back and see where I started, and to be able to share them with folks. dubaidude303- Thanks, man! Happy that people enjoy having both SC4 and CXL here panthersimcity4- Oh, thanks man! Condor Bay's never been called "inspiring" before ...certainly happy you remember it, too. And it went through a few names before I settled on Condor Bay. It was supposed to be called Condor Valley, and the city itself is called Fordville. I can't remember why I settled on Condor Bay specifically, but I guess it doesn't matter much anymore. Thank you for commenting! ------------ Quite a few people appreciated the mix of CXL and SimCity 4 in the last update. Dunno how long I can keep on mixing them, to be honest--I haven't played either game in ages, so the number of pictures from each game is limited. Still, I'll try and do it whenever I can . Anyways, three or four more pictures: 1.) This picture, from the early days of Condor Bay, was quite a bit of fun to make! This was actually an exercise in how to build houses on hills and have it both look nice and function properly (with electricity, water, etc.). I took the picture after I was satisfied with what I had built, and on a whim I blurred everything but the hill, just to see how it would turn out. As it is, it's not bad. Not the best, really, but not bad. My favorite part of the entire picture is actually the way the road leading down the hill disappears behind the trees. I didn't plan that, I promise 2.) (Looking north) This is Fordville International Seaport, which was featured in the very first update of Condor Bay. I won't lie: this took a bit of work to get right. The [layout of the arms of land started out way different] than how they ended up, since they more closely matched [the SC3KU version]. I looked up a lot of source material to build it: Google Earth pictures of real-world seaports, seaports in other people's CJ's, all the different "Show Us Your Seaport" threads, etc. The thing that probably helped me the most, though, was emilin's [building A Port...The Hard Way] thread on SC4 Devotion, truly one of the most in-depth, informative building tutorials I've ever read. Without that, I don't know if I could've built this port . The layout is pretty haphazard, to tell the truth, because I've never been to a real seaport before (only skirted by them on freeways and such). From what I saw looking at real-world ports, though, it's not uncommon at all to have a recreational port adjacent to or very near a commercial one, hence my having recreational harbor on the opposite side of the main port (on the inner harbor, with Peg's boardwalk and all those instances of marrast/Criquette's boat docks). It's just really supposed to look very busy, which in my country, it is (see [entry #1] for a map of "my country"). Oh...and the top-right corner is cut off because in my CJ, the opposite shore was built up, but I didn't want to show it yet. The only thing I wanted visible was the lighthouse there in the niche of the corner. So yeah...that's the seaport. It's the only modular seaport I've ever built in SC4, and it's one of the best things I did in Condor Bay, in my opinion. 3.) This is, very simply, a street map of Buonocitta from CXL (actually, it's a traffic data map, but enough about that). This map actually got me my first (and so far only) city-related Trixie . I really would like to get back into playing this game, as a city map like this would be VERY hard to replicate in SC4, but I feel so out of the loop with this game (kind of sad, considering I'm a moderator for its board here on ST ). -------- So yeah...that's that, I think. Is three pictures enough for each update? Should I do more or less? And do you guys actually read what I write, or just look at the pictures (answering truthfully won't stop me from explaining each photo...I'm just curious)? Let me know! Also...I'm running out of punny "Mas" phrases to use as titles. I may have to change the convention here in a bit... Thanks for checking this out! Comment, if you please!
