Downtown Hamilton
Downtown Hamilton, Iorio Something For Everyone Map of Downtown Hamilton Downtown Hamilton is bounded roughly by Interstate 70 to the west, Circus Street to the east, Lake Arruhu to the north, and 14th Street to the south. Interstate 70 has two downtown exits (West 6th Street and West 14th Street), providing access to Fort Hamilton Hospital and downtown attractions. Downtown Hamilton Skyline (so far...) Clarence III Field Built in 1999, Clarence III Field is the home of the AA-affiliate of the Nancyville Nancies baseball team, the Hamilton SeaHounds. The SeaHounds name is a homage to Hamilton's rich maritime past, as well as its' location on Lake Arruhu. Clarence III Field also hosts special events, such as some outdoor concerts. Volkswagen Arena Volkswagen Arena, completed in 2002, was built directly across East 6th Street from Clarence III Field as part of Hamilton's Sports & Entertainment District project. The arena was originally named Arruhu County Memorial Arena, but Volkswagen bought the naming rights to the arena in 2007 for an undisclosed price. Among the many events that play at VW Arena are concerts, monster truck shows, and WWE. Hamilton City Hall, and Old City Hall Hamilton City Hall (610 York Street) was built in 1969. Old City Hall, located directly behind New City Hall at West 7th and Queen Streets, was built in 1906 and is on the Iorio Register of Historic Places. After completion of Hamilton's new City Hall, Old City Hall fell into disrepair and sat vacant for many years. Finally, in 1994, the City of Hamilton completely renovated the building and today Old City Hall serves as an annex, housing some city offices. Hamilton News-Herald Buildiing Located at 601 Arruhu Street, the Art-Deco style Hamilton News-Herald Building is an icon of downtown Hamilton's skyline. The building, completed in 1924, serves as the publishing headquarters for the region's daily newspaper, the News-Herald and Sunday News-Herald. The building was partially damaged by fire in 1940 during the Hamilton Newsies Strike, and narrowly avoided major damage in 1981 during a major storm, which dumped nearly 12 inches of rain and flooded downtown Hamilton. Clarence III Bank Building, Emigrant Building, Bank of Iorio Building The 19-story, 275-foot Clarence III Bank Building, located at 400 Arruhu Street, is home of the Iorio headquarters of Nancyville-based Clarence III Bank. The building was completed in 1909 and was Hamilton's first high-rise office tower. Right next door, at 406-410 Arruhu, is the Emigrant Building, and across 5th Street is the Bank of Iorio Building. I'm not sure what my next update will consist of yet, as my style of city-building (and CJing) is "fly by the seat of my pants". Any comments, questions, or suggestions are MUCH appreciated. Thank you for visiting Historic Hamilton, Iorio! -

14. Spedbury, the dividing line.
First off I just want to thank everyone that viewed, commented, rated and +1'd the last entry. I was rather overwhelmed with how well it was recieved to be honest, so thanks Replies I was trying to quote everyone, but it won't let me do that, so if I haven't quoted you don't worry about it. -later- And now there are to many emoticons, I may have to change how I do replies I think. @sHnozZa Thanks, I enjoy building them, previously only middle class areas but over time I have come to enjoy building practically any type/wealth of housing. @dubaidude303 : Thanks for the comment, I intend to. @MamaLuigi945 Cheers, and thanks for the comment, you must have commented on nearly every single update so thank you for that. As for the road networks, I like to mix things up a bit, one day I'll get the hang of the RHW @10000000000000 I changed the name from The Spire because that was the previous city I was working on, The Spire is now essentially finished and as The Spire was just one city in the region it didn't make sense to keep the same name. However the region doesn't yet have a name really, so the CJ name reflects the city I am working on most currently, which is by far Spedbury @Keder : Thanks @Hazani Pratama : The people living in the slum areas don't think so, but as far as urban decay goes it has a certain aesthetic quality Thanks for the comment. @Aaron Graham : Thanks Aaron, but none of this would be possible without people such as yourself making content for people to use, so you have my thanks. There probably isn't quite so much of your content in this update, you should BAT some industrials to remedy that @greenbearcub That is the TSC Ecological Building, you can find it here - @Jetty Jockey Thanks for the comment, I'm going for the green but urban look and I think I have succeeded, besides people aren't robots, they need room to breathe. I'm not happy with my park creating skills yet though. @Zulu2065 : Thanks Zulu @Jamonbread : Thanks for the comment @newyorka : Thanks, however you'll need to be a bit more specific in regards to housing, I have many many plugins. The marina/dock can be found here - http://www.simpeg.co...ownloads;cat=35 you'll need to register to download. @Markus J The region has been in the works since 2010, hence the quality of the region varies alot, currently the regional population is 25,645,000 approx. Spedbury has 277,000 at the time of writing this. The city is probably around 60% finished, I still have a lot of land to build on @david030400 : Nah, nothing is perfect, but thanks anyway @aparrot7 : Thanks, I'm glad you like the style @emogreen07 : I wouldn't have said it was "planned" I have an idea of what I want to do but its pretty spontaneous really, I don't plan out any networks beforehand I just go with the flow, though this does have its drawbacks, sometimes I have to delete a lot of stuff because I can't fit in what I wanted to fit in, anyway, thank you for the comment @jc joopy : Where did I find the first one? I'm not quite sure what you mean, if you tell me which pic it's in then I can give you the link. The big factory can be found here - http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=2578, thanks for the comment @city89 : Sure, you can find that here - http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=2578 @Cobra_nVidia : Thanks, I certainly wouldn't mind living here, on the nice side of course @SimGuy23 I go on and off Simcity myself rather often, I think most of us do, and like you, I usually pick it back up when I see something impressive in CJ's or "show us your" threads. So I'm glad my CJ was that spark, thanks for the comment @SimCitySuperFan : Thanks, I upload them on an external image hosting website, in my case thats http://photobucket.com/, then you link the pictures directly into the CJ. @paulvmontfort I'm sure I won't be the only one, they're very nice buildings and the lotting by T Wrecks is also top notch. They fit so well into that pocket of affluence that I couldn't not use them, was a little problematic to grow though, thanks for the comment @Lloyd0728 : I wouldn't worry about it to much, it takes time to learn how all the custom content fits together, what goes with what, and with more coming out all the time it's a constant learning experience, thanks for the comment @Benedict Thanks, made for a nice little suprise after the hassle of moving house @grstudios Thanks, SC4 bugs, not so much. SC4 Crashes? To many to count Update A rather large update today, so apologies if you don't have much bandwidth. The plan was to alternate the type of area shown each update, but as with many things the reality is a little different. I kept running out of ideas and going back to the "nicer" areas, and as such this update is really 50/50. So I suppose it has something for everyone. I've also experimented with an older area of buildings, and while I like it I'm not sure I will actually keep it. Anyway, less talk and more pictures I think, as always click the pictures for full 1680x1050 resolution. We'll start in the poorer districts, this council goods depo was recently constructed on land previously occupied with an old factory, which arsonists burnt down. Some of the surrounding housing projects, including the massive Ashbury house, constructed in 1973 to house 4,800 people. The area is dominated by a huge ironworks and ore processing facility, the blast furnaces burn 24/7 and the twin chimmneys have become local landmarks. This once busy motorway seperates the housing areas of Northolt from the heavy industry of Workington. In some places old factorys have remained standing, and are now surrounded with low quality housing. More heavy industry lies on the other side of the A556. A few overviews of the main industrial areas and housing projects. The huge VW car factory and Blenish freight yard. The previous main street of this neighbourhood can be seen to the upper side of the 60's concrete dual carriageway. Now we come to the dividing line, stepping accross the railway line is like entering a different city (Well okay, driving or walking under) This area known as Fitz-Bellgrovia is the old merchants quarters, the old houses were recently done up and now fetch a pretty price on the housing market, the large imperial-era buildings also underwent extensive sandblasting and renovation. We're now heading into the commercial heart of the city, which is charmingly located along the old canals. In the last few years extensive traffic free cycleways have also been constructed along the canals. In some places the old high street remains, though with some additions usually. This large shopping centre is situated on the outskirts of the commercial area and is popular enough to have its own purpose built rail station. And lastly some middle class suburbia with a well performing school. EDIT: I've done it again, I was sure I had uploaded this image, but I guess not. It shows in greater detail the partially sunken railway junction I mentioned in the comments. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this update, please comment, criticise and +1 as you see fit - 14

Project TREX: The Largest Freeway Expansion to Date
Hello Simtropians and Thessalonians! Today I have some images of the very first completed phase of Project TREX (Transportation Expansion). The final project will encompass about 26 km of highway with the ultimate goal to maintain these basic standards through out the entire project area: * Both Express (High Speed) and Local Access lanes * Minimum of of 3 Express lanes and 2 Local Access lanes in each direction * Safety features designed to allow speeds of up to 200 km/h on Express Lanes and 125 km/h on Local Access Lanes * Funding for this project is being provided by the federal government under the condition that a right-of-way is left open to allow for future construction of high-speed rail Eventually all limited-access highways in the region will be upgraded to these standards as need and growth permits (except the downtown M3 Bypass). First, here is an overview map showing the project area. The green portion is Phase 1 and is already complete. We placed Phase I in the city of Meteora because this is the busiest section on the entire project. In addition, the existing right-of-way is the wider in this area than anywhere else on the project, so minimal demolition was necessary. Below is an aerial of the section. Currently, the Local Access and Express lanes merge into a single standard highway at the borders of Meteora. Once other sections are completed, that will no longer be the case. Lastly, here is an old file image of the area before construction. There were Express Lanes here before the project, but on a much smaller scale. - 17

Episode 1-4: The First Installments
Hey guys, my name is CoastRunner, (nickie when I first joined a few years ago) and these are the first installments of my Let's Play series of SimCity4! I'm still a relatively new YouTuber, and am working ony my commentary (and content XD) so the first 4 will be of rather lower quality. I hope you enjoy watching the pure gameplay though, and know that it will be better in the future! I'm currently working on Episode 5, which will be about 3 hours of gameplay sped up in a 25-minute video. It'll be here soon -

Within a year of it's founding, the small settlement of Halbinsel has grown rapidly in the several-blocks-wide peninsula which gave the city it's name and where it was founded. Work has begun on the Halbinsel & Marquette Railroad, which would connect the fast-growing Halbinsel to the capital of the French Blue Coast, Marquette, on the west coast of the island the nation is located on. A small station was built on Main Street at the then-western edge of the settlement and continued west, with additional stops at Eaton Avenue and 1 Mile Road west of the settlement, reaching what would soon be Burns Center by 1840. Halbinsel just after the expansion had started. The Halbinsel & Marquette Railroad can be seen heading west (left). In 1840, a station was built on 10 Mile Road just south of Main Street about ten and a half miles west of Halbinsel along the Halbinsel & Marquette Railroad. As of now, the station is surrounded by forest in rural Burns Township, but it's about to give way to farms and the new town of Burns Center. Notice that the railroad itself is still incomplete. The settlement of Halbinsel in 1840. According to the 1840 Blue Coast Census, Halbinsel's population was 1,987 in 1840, with 966 commercial jobs and 1,860 industrial jobs. Stay tuned for the next update, which will show the farms around Halbinsel County. - 3

The Election is Over, Transitions Begin!
On November 5, 2010 it was official: Emily Maxwell was the newest Mayor of Maryborough. Election night partying. Maxwell has a major task ahead of her: how to revitalize the City. The first Green Party mayor of a major American city, she also faced major skepticism that she had the skill and practicality to get the job one. To silence the critics and make good on her promises, Mayor Maxwell jumped into action on her first day on the job. The project to daylight the Wapato Creek was chosen as the first major project. The plans called for demolishing a little-used freeway which ran above the creek. Where the freeway once stood, a canal holding the creek would be built. Within the canal would be a mall of mostly local shops displaced by the construction along the freeway's corridor. Finally, a new roadway, light rail line, and bike path would be built along the creek. This project was chosen because it Incorporated all of Maxwell's major campaign promises: building livable commercial districts, improving transportation, and supporting environmental sustainability. The demolishing of the freeway. To avoid floods, the creek was piped through to its outlet while construction continued. Construction continues and the mall canal begins to take shape. While the canal was being build, Maxwell also undertook the massive modernization projects needed for the city's civic infrastructure. School buildings hadn't been replaced in years; old elementary schools were made into high schools while the younger students were pushed into smaller temporary buildings. Also, police stations were so outdated that they couldn't support adequate broadband networks and were seismically unsafe. Schools would generally be rebuilt from the ground-up, while police stations would be a modern glass facade which would mask the retrofitting work. A typical civic block, with a high school (top left) police station (top right), and "temporary" elementary school buildings (center). An updated subway station where the high school was, with the retrofitted police station and a new elementary school. The redevelopment also includes pedestrian pathways. In other, more blighted blocks, all buildings were torn down. This block now includes a new hospital, educational facilities, and parkland. Until Next time! - 3

USA redux part 3
well i have most of the landmasses smoothed out except for a patch near the upper right and the islands off the coast of florida not sure if canada has so many lakes but it's the most time consuming aspect of this project. some of the lakes aren't that deep so you can either take them out or deepen them to your heart's content. i just smoothed them out w/softer beaches. some parts of the map will not be accurate as to elevation with the shorelines but this can be fixed in game or w/SC4T i really like the new mountain ranges w/o the huge jagged peaks which was a result of the render process in SC4 not that much land left to smooth out and then i have to smooth out the seabed but keep it closer to the surface so future players can use the "empty" tiles which will have nothing but ocean in them. this map should be finished either tomorrow or the day after and my original estimate of 3 days w/about accurate since i'm on day 3 and i'm nearly finished. once i'm done w/this map i'll rework my lakes and rivers map w/a smoother surface and play around w/some of the terraforming tools in SC4T. please note this map is being smoothed for playability and not accuracy in regards to elevations or major landmass features or coastlines. the beta is still on the STEX and can be edited to your specifications. thanks for stopping by- Read More

Downtown Santiago
About Downtown Downtown Santiago is situated on flat land due east of the Corrado River. Titus Street (Route 40/Route 6) is the main east-west street in Santiago. Central Avenue (Route 250) is the city's main north-south street. Interstate 20 runs to the east of downtown Santiago, and the Innerloop (Corrado State Route 601) loops around downtown Santiago, starting at I-20 north of the Titus Street exit, and reconnects with I-20 on Santiago's South Side. Route 6 in downtown Santiago runs along Titus Street from I-20 to North River Avenue, where Route 6 then continues westbound onto West 3rd Street and over the 3rd Street Bridge, which eventually leads to the West 6th Street Expressway, which connects Santiago's west side and western suburbs with the city center. State Labor Board Building The Corrado State Labor Board building, on West Titus Street between Miller and Corrado Blvd., is a classic example of Santiago's diverse architecture. Once housing the Federal Courthouse at Santiago, the primary use of the State Labor Board Building is to hold labor hearings, disputes, and other functions as opposed to holding them in city/county, state supreme, or federal courts. In addition, many of the state's employment services, such as credit unions, labor union offices, and various staffing services. are also located in the building. WestBank Tower The WestBank Tower (official address 200 East Titus Street) is Santiago's tallest commercial office building, at 781 feet and 42 stories. Located on the block bordering Titus to the south, 2nd Street to the north, McNaughton to the west, and Grace to the east, much of the building houses offices for WestBank, as well as a full-service WestBank branch on the building's main floor. Other tenants include law offices, psychiatrist/psychologist offices, real-estate brokers, and other service-sector related businesses. Capitol Square Complex Corrado's state capitol building is located in Capitol Square. Central Avenue dissects around the Capitol building itself, surrounded by parks and the State Reflecting Pool. Much of the most expensive real-estate in the state of Corrado is located on the blocks north of the square. The next post will center around some of Santiago's neigborhoods, as well as a couple extra tidbits. Enjoy Santiago! -

New Scotland - History
First off, welcome to my new city journal! I hope you enjoy this one, which should be better than some of my previous ones and I should hopefully maintain it a bit longer! Anyway, here is a quick factfile of New Scotland: Name: New Scotland Terrain: Rough mountains, nice rivers and lakes! My computer is messed up, so I wont be able to right in paragraphs because it gets really annoying, but here is a brief History of New Scotland: The Romans first found New Scotland in 20AD and set up the first town, Bridgechester. It was place along the riverside and had a beautiful fortified bridge (Hence the name). The town was used for trading in and out the area, and hosted a fairly large Harbour. (The pictures are slightly different too the final terrain, and also havent actually got the towns yet!) They also built several other towns, which you will see in later entries! In when the Roman era died out, the area was taken over by the Scottish king at the time, before being passed onto the British empire until this present day, although it is still referenced to as New Scotland. Also, I thought I should put a full scale map in, so here it is: Next Entry coming soon! Haso -

With that being said, I present The Rocky Mountain Energy, newest power plant; next to Cherry Creek Reservoir off of Parker Rd. Dam Rd and the C-470 South Loop. Damn Rd, is correctly the only road to get to the new Hickenlooper Nuclear Plant. Aftermath
From a distance, Threeways looks like a relatively normal city. But large areas were recently torn apart by some natural disaster which is not yet understood by the people of Threeways. The whole Eastern and Southern edges of the city as well as many other small pockets where destroyed on 30th August 2101 when the ground shook with the force of an earthquake and in some places was completely re-shaped. This re-shaping phenomenon was most distinct near the border with neighbouring city Nouveau. Several geologists working in Threeways' High-tech science park in the West of the city currently believe the catastorphe was caused by some ground works being carried out in neighbouring city Nouveau. Naturally, this theory has angered many of Threeways sims who are looking for someone to blame. The Mayor, Darren Colcote, is also coming under pressure to get to the bottom of this mess and to sort out the areas of the city which were destroyed. Fortunately, his residence and much of the main street in Threeways remained unscathed. The isolated South western island did not escape unharmed either, here we see many empty plots of land. The debris has been cleared, but no new planning permission has been granted at the current time. This journal will follow the reconstruction of Threeways. Mbon -

Reichlichacker, f.1852-1860
Situated south of Holle Oberwasser the community of Reichlichacker was founded in 1852. Translated to Bountiful Fields, religious settlers established their community along the southern roads of the HO farming areas of the south bank of the Holle River. Establishing first their church then the locality and farms the community has strong differences from their brethren to the north. Following religious ideals to their own sect the forests are considered rather sacred and farms are established in open meadows contoured around the tree lines. Initially the community is roughly 500 strong, but by 1855 demand for food by other cities in the region and by the shipping industry via Holle Oberwasser the population swells and farms are constructed in other meadows to the south. Though the original settlement features a clustered community and generous housing plots, future developments are spread out and housing plots are small affairs. Unlike Holle Oberwasser or other cities in the region, Reichlichacker lacks a military police force and instead the community, all of whom belong to the church bow to the religious authority, under which all civil actions are performed. By 1860 the population is steady at 1,940 and the authority ceases writing permits for construction on February 23rd, 1860.- Read More

St Cuthbert, the second city
St. Cuthbert is the second city of Veronsly, located on a bay in the south of the island. Okay, maybe labels like "second city" are a little demeaning, but don't consider it a bad thing. What St. Cuthbert has going for it is the laid-back feeling of a cultural city and university town. Except without the university, but that's not the point. Albanel, the capital, (which you will see soon), is much more fast-paced and focused on financial and government stuff... and who really wants to do that on a hot summer day? Of course, the island of Veronsly does not get very many hot summer days - if any at all. Locals jokingly say that the gloom of nearby Britian is the reason for the island's bad weather. But anyways... Below you will see the historic center of the city, with the tall spire of the St. Cuthbert cathedral towering above the main square. The cathedral is located on the spot of the first Christian church on the island, constructed by a celtic monk named Cuthbert who is the island's patron saint. His tomb is located in the city of Bequelan, which is considered the center of Christianity on the island with its large cathedral. The large white building on the square is the city hall of St. Cuthbert. The main square is lined with old structures from different time periods... from medieval to renaissance and Georgian. Located here is Liberation Square, with the mausoleum of Kaiden Ruthfellow, who was the first leader of the country after independence from Britian. He was born and grew up in St. Cuthbert. In front of the mausoleum is the National History museum. There's also a train station nearby that connects the city with its western suburbs and the capital city of Albanel. Below is another museum, the Naval History museum, dedicated to the naval history of the island. The main train station of the city is located here, which unlike the other train station, provides express trains directly to the capital city and Bequelan. Farther east from the train station is the suburb of Sterenbury, which is pretty much just up the hill from the main train station. Here you will find the local university, (okay, there actually IS one) located in the brick building with the spire on the corner. There's also the historic church of St. Alban.... ....aaaand a video rental place, because apparently they haven't gone entirely out of business just yet. Around the area you'll also find victorian terraces, a product of the island's British rule. Thanks for reading!! - 9

Coldwater, A place time forgot
The small town of Coldwater settled 11 miles west of New Haven, along the Steamer-Schipper Railway in 1898. Now the only surviving picture of what the town first looked like was taken back in 1909 when the community had a population of 281. At this time Coldwater was larger than New Haven by 3.9% population wise. The small town had everything a small rural town needed. From 1908 to 1949 Coldwater was the Haven county seat during this time the community roughly stayed the same. In 1945 the Steamer-Schipper Railway Co announced that they'd be closing the line going through Coldwater. (Coldwater era 1909) Even with the building block that helped grow the town gone forever and now rusting away, the residents managed. However though with their neighbor to the west growing at a fast pace, many that lived in the town started to move to New Haven. Over the years (1979-1990) the town looked more like a ghost town, well it was becoming one. (Andrew St: era 1987) Then on July 18, 1991 the last resident of Coldwater died in her home, Sarah Andrews was 97. The town become a safe haven for arsonists, burning whatever they wanted, after all who would really notice? Well then on May 1, 1998 they whole town burned to the ground, when fire crews from New Haven and surround areas arrived they were to late. Today there is only one house that survived the fires over the years. The only real viable sign from afar that there was once a town here is the old watertower that looks over a once prosperous community, now buried under ashes of its former self. - 4
