Update: Aoki Area - Saitama Prefecture Today I am happy to share with you an update about the beautiful town of Aoki. With a population of around 60,000 people, Aoki is a small, old residential area that is part of the Saitama metropolitan area. Aoki is located very close to Cape Futtsu, a place we visited in previous updates. It is a quiet, mostly residential area populated mainly by elderly people. As always, the most common way to reach these towns is either by train or by road. In the case of Aoki, we have a line that ends here, as well as a regional road that crosses the area. The train line crosses the town of Aoki from north to south, dividing it into two areas. The space between the mountains and the sea is limited. But the inhabitants live normally despite the constant sound of the train. Aoki is a quiet place, a residential area away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Due to its location, several train lines end in this area. One of them can be seen in the following images. It is an old train workshop that is still in operation today. These train workshops can be seen throughout the country. Given the large number of trains and rail tracks built across the country, it is absolutely necessary and vital to have these workshops where trains can be properly maintained. Another train line ends in the southern part of Aoki. This area was built to “park” trains whenever necessary. In addition, right at the end of the line, we can find a small freight station that provides this area with any necessary resource. Aoki is mainly a fairly old residential area. It is a typical area built after the war when the prefecture experienced its greatest growth but lacked habitable areas near the city center. Here you can see the typical residential blocks that were quick and easy to build. Aoki is divided into two different areas. One area is located within Saitama Bay, and the other is located just behind the mountain that divides the city. In this image, we can see the least populated area of Aoki, where the density of houses is lower. This is because this part of Aoki is directly “exposed” to the sea and is therefore not as densely populated. To protect residents from potential natural disasters originating from the sea. Barriers have been erected and vegetation planted to prevent sea level rise from affecting the population. This is one of the least modern areas in the prefecture. In addition, its inhabitants are mostly elderly and retired. People who have lived most of their lives away from the central areas of the prefecture. Aoki is a fantastic place to live peacefully, far from the noise and fast pace of everyday life in urban centers. Futtsu Cape and all its war-related monuments, as well as Yasaka Island Shrine, are located nearby. Therefore, Aoki is a good area to stay for a couple of nights to visit the area and its monuments. Once again, thank you for your visit, comments, and reactions. I hope you like Aoki and enjoy your stay ############################################################################## Greetings / Saludos / Groeten

This is my first city journal. Quebec city is 12th largest city in Canada with a population of over 500,000. I am using the quebec city region by tagehring, thanks. I am using real names for places from Google map, but their positions might not be very accurate. Now my region has reached 100,000 people. Desjardins is a little town just in the east to the great city Levis, I want to make it a residential suburb. Here are the first estates in Desjardins: That's all for today. Hope you enjoy it.

Anthem is well known for the year-round activities, primarily geared towards families. The community center offers youth soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, various forms of martial arts, and swimming amongst other activities for ages as early as toddler years. Homeowner's association dues cover a pool larger than Olympic size, a community water park with slides and various depths for all swimming levels, paths that crisscross the town, bike paths that circle all major streets, and pocket parks scattered throughout the town. In addition, there is a 63-acre community park complete with an amphitheater, many grassy areas, volleyball, soccer, football, baseball and little league fields along with a train, pavilion, lakes and pagodas. The main businesses: Wal-Mart and Fry's. -
We begin the Fairview story in the Southlands of the region, specifically South Ridge: a fertile valley nestled between two rolling hills. This area offers a significant starting point in the lead up to taking on the planned city center in a future post. With plenty of room to expand, the suburbs and towns are fairly lightly populated. The main benefits of the region are plenty of farmland, with easy access to nearby harbors, offering processing and storage facilities, as well as export facilities. Vast highways link towns and suburbs, with sprawling farmland throughout. As the region expands, this will offer excellent opportunity for farmland to continue to thrive and support the infrastructure and economy of the region. The town of South Ridge is small, although plenty of space remains to the north of the highway, promising future development sites. The avenue stretching through town never gets busy, offering a quite country-town lifestyle for the locals, with everyone within easy access of all the amenities the town has to offer. A community library offers a wealth of knowledge for the area, as well as plenty of parkland and outdoor-leisure spaces. The nearby highway provides valuable connection to the region, as well as employment opportunities that are never too far away. The town is a net-exporter, already offering a bustling harbor for the farmland to export to the Fairview region. Despite the early days, the port is already getting good use, mainly from the farms in South Ridge. Economically, it's promising for the region to have a strong harbor region on the doorstep of a planned major city. One of the key design challenges I faced in preparing South Ridge into what it is now, is the construction of the highway. I've always previously use the Maxis highways, although these often clash with the NAM textures, and in themselves, have design limitations. Despite my love and respect to the issues the NAM does fix, I've never been a user of the the RHW's. I've promised myself that I'm going to experiment a little wit the RHW's in this region, and hopefully learn a thing or two. This vast mess of a cloverleaf is a first for me. It took me a solid few hours, and much experimenting, to come up with something I was happy with, although I have already learnt a lot of how the RHW works, as well as just how flexible it can be. Along the countryside, this almost fits in, although I'm somewhat concerned I'm going to butcher it when I take on integrating a highway into the big-city. Thanks for taking the time to read my first journal, I look forward to your comments, and someday soon publishing the next entry.

Short description: A while ago, a collection of Italian-style lots – the so-called Italian Collection, by simcity4ever88 – has been restored by the moderators of Simtropolis Exchange because the files had been stored on an off-site host which is not available anymore. After downloading this collection, I realized that it contains a huge collection (more than 1,000 lots!) of partially really beautiful buildings. Unfortunately, however, some of them are really poorly modded, up to the point that they may freeze SimCity 4 upon scrolling over them in the in-game menu, and, occasionally, the lotting isn’t much better. Therefore, I’ve improved both lotting and modding of some of these buildings. Real life doesn’t allow me to do this on a regular pace, but I’ve had a little time to work on some of the lots. This is a collection of more than 100 old town houses, most of them being wall-to-wall buildings. In accordance with their prop names (in most cases, at least), I’ve split them into 6 groups. All of these buildings are available as ploppable landmarks with commercial service jobs. A selection of them (mostly straight orthogonal buildings and corner buildings) are also available as growable buildings with residents on them. While admittedly nothing basically prevents you from using the default content coming with the Italian Collection itself and the lotting isn’t that much different, I took the liberty of turning all buildings into ploppables, which makes more sense with some buildings with odd shapes, and improved the modding a bit. Also, I tried to make sure that all houses themselves are aligned properly, to allow you to create seamless wall-to-wall environments (although this hasn’t always been possible, some of the graphics haven’t been designed very well in this regard; especially the Case con Portici set gave me much trouble when trying to align the houses.) Available languages: The item names are mostly in Italian, however, all other in-game descriptions, as well as the Readmes, are available in English and German. Submenu compatibility: Starting with Version 1a, this plugin has been made compatible with memo’s Submenus DLL mod, and has been split up into 6 submenus, each labeled with the name of the set. Users using it will find the menus either in the CS-$, CS-$$, or CS-$$$ submenus of the Commercial menu, or packed into another IC submenu in the Landmarks menu (see installation instructions below). Please refer to the Readme to see how the submenu icons look like. Dependencies: The Italian Collection: This plugin contains all building graphics. https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28443-the-italian-collection/ Important note: Recently, some graphical glitches have been discovered in the Italian Collection. They have been fixed now, thanks to rsc204 (see credits below), but unfortunately this means that all users that have already downloaded the Italian Collection before May 31st, 2020, need to uninstall it and then download and install it again in order for the changes to be reflected in-game. How to properly install the Italian Collection: Make sure to think twice before just tossing all files coming with the Italian Collection into your Plugins folder. You may obtain hundreds of lots in your game menu that you cannot (or don’t want to) make use of them; and some of them are growables that you can’t control. Please take yourself time to read these instructions. Step 1: Download the Italian Collection and unpack all files. Step 2: Look into all subfolders of the Italian Collection and decide for yourself if you want to keep the buildings/lots you are getting – I’m literally talking about more than 1,000 lots! If not, just remove the corresponding files with the file extension .SC4Lot. You can remove or keep all of these files as it fits you best, this won’t affect the functionality of my plugin. You only need to keep all files with the file extension .dat, .SC4Model, and .SC4Desc. BSC VIP Girafe Flora Pack: contain some mayor mode ploppable trees. In particular, you need: Chestnuts, Lindens, Norway Maples, Parasol Pines, and Poplars. https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/27-sc4d-LEX-legacy-bsc-vip-girafe-flora Various prop/texture packages: These just contain props, retaining walls, or textures and no lots. Unfortunately, they are quite a bunch, but there’s a high chance that you may have them already. Various Lot Foundations and Retaining Walls: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/31346-various-lot-foundations-and-retaining-walls/ Aqua Textures 1: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28675-aqua_textures_01/ BSC Common Dependencies Pack: https://sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/3-sc4d-LEX-legacy-bsc-common-dependencies-pack PEG MTP Super Pack: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/20966-peg-mtp-super-pack/ SFBT Essentials: https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/22-dependencies/13-sfbt-essentials Submenus DLL (optional): https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/36142-submenus-dll/ Installation: Step 1 (Installation): Please move or copy all existing files (except the Readme files) into the Plugins folder of your edition of SimCity 4. Step 2 (Submenu Setup): Only keep either the file IC_OldTown_Submenu Commercial.dat (which puts the submenus into the CS-$, CS-$$, and CS-$$$ submenus of the Commercial menu), or the file IC_OldTown_Submenu Landmarks.dat (which puts the submenus into the Landmark menu). Delete the other file. To uninstall this plugin, please bulldoze all instances of these old town building lots in your cities and then remove all lot files coming with this plugin from your Plugins folder. How to use the blocker files: All files with a file name starting with zIC_Blocker will (as long as they load last) override the content in their respective counterpart file starting with IC_Growable, making the growth of the residential buildings impossible. As already mentioned, the purpose of these files is to give you more control over letting them grow or not. To make sure that these buildings grow, just remove the blocker files from your Plugins folder. To block these buildings, just put them back into a place where you can make sure that they load last (ideally in the same folder where the files with the growables are, while keeping their file names). Compatibility: This plugin should be compatible with all versions of SimCity 4. If not, please feel free to tell me. Credits: @simcity4ever88 for creating these buildings in the first place, @rsc204 for providing me with a solution how to fix the already mentioned graphical glitches, @CorinaMarie and @Cyclone Boom for giving me permission to create an update and for uploading an updated version of the Italian Collection (even several times). Support: Please feel free to post issues, bug reports, and suggestions in this thread:- 1 Comment

> We have found out that Humans love nature, and while they are living in a valley full of it, we aren't so sure of the safety of the valley. There have been reports from previous expeditions about surveyors being attacked by wild animals. > Records have shown that Humans created—or rather recreated—smaller areas of nature within their cities. These were apparently called "parks". These areas were quite common and were a good place for Humans to "relax" and "chill" in. We decided to create one beside the church, sourcing plants and trees from the surrounding forest. > After a few days, we were able to finish planting the trees needed. We were also able to add a small pond because Humans apparently love ponds. Humans really are odd creatures...

> As more roadwork commenced, we started constructing more buildings for the Humans to live in. The Humans are brought to the town via airships as these are the main transport vehicles we have on-hand. > Humans are intriguing. Their numbers go up so fast, even faster than what we are able to produce. Upon further study, it seems that us creating new Humans is no longer necessary, as the Humans can also create more Humans as long as they have the appropriate Human partner to do so. > It is due to this population "boom" that we had to construct even more buildings than we had initially planned for today. Liberties were taken into the styles of the buildings, as these are the only buildings we currently have data on. > We have also laid down rails for a type of vehicle known as a "tram". Studies have shown that these trams are able to carry more people than the typical vehicle that Humans use. We have deemed this type of transport essential as we expect to have more Humans live in the town. > The Humans seemed to have formed their own belief system, and demanded a "Church" to be constructed. Apparently this "church" is where people gather to worship the mighty being they have faith in. Surveyors tell us that the mighty being they worship goes by the name of "Chirpy-sama". Humans really are intriguing... > We shall conclude this report with a photograph of the "skyline" of the town. This town is starting to take shape. I can feel that the Human Revival project is going to be a success.

From the album New Marseilles Metro Area
The Town of Escambia found in 1825, is a resort town in the western region of the Jubal Parish of the New Marseilles metro area, about 41 miles west/northwest of New Marseilles. The town sits at the bottom mouth of Lake Marseilles and has a number of beaches, casinos, and recreational parks and trailways. The town is also one of the richest in Jubal, where the median household income is $76,405. Mass transit provided by the region's commuter rail service, NMRRS (Gray line) provides peak and gameday service Monday-Sunday to New Marseilles central station about 1 hour and 15 minutes away.-
