  1. Hatsukaichi - Closer View

    • Update #7 || Hatsukaichi - Closer View • ############################################################################## • Hello everyone, in the last update we've seen Hatsukaichi from the heights, now is time to get closer and see all the details that this village can offer to us. This update has a great amount of pictures and all of them are focused in the village of Hatsukaichi and non in its port. We will visit the port in the next update. • • This is Japan and that means that you can reach all places easily. You can reach Hatsukaichi by car; using the Highway, national road or just driving across the roads of the prefecture. By train and also by ferry. in this picture you can see the Highway that cross Saitama from south to north and also the Shinkansen line, it has not station in Hatsukaichi. • • Trains are everywhere, even if only one rail line cross the village there are trains passing through Hatsukaichi all the time • • Here is where the national road is connected with Hatsukaichi, it is one of the entries of the village • • Hatsukaichi during normal days • • The first school in Hatsukaichi, still in function • • There are not too many flats in this village, most of the areas are covered by old low houses • • Some trains parked right in front of the Hatsukaichi station • • The sea has always been good friend in Japan, anyway it is better to keep distances • • The city hall and the Hatsukaichi temple • ( More info later) • Hatsukaichi at night (Very nice and quiet place to live) • ############################################################################## Greetings / Saludos / Groeten # Jonathan.
  2. Hatsukaichi, Saitama Prefecture

A small village located pretty close to Hatsukaichi main port
  3. Cape Disappointment, Washington

    Version 1.0.1

    184 Downloads

Cape Disappointment, Ilwaco, and Long Beach WA from terrain party GPS map(18km, 1:1 scale). Scenic ocean side city space. Cape Disappointment(red lighthouse rock outcrop) is famous as the Lewis and Clark expedition's winter camp. They tried to flag down passing merchant ships to give them a copy of Lewis's expedition journals(in case they died on the way back). This was unsuccessful and thus he named it Cape Disappointment. Map includes two lighthouses, two rocky jetties, a man made dock/bay area, and WW2 era artillery forts(near the mouth of the Columbia River). Abundant in all in game resources. Ore is found in the mountains, oil in the midlands, and fertile farmland near the river flood planes and flats. Hand modeled beach sloped correctly(no steep cliff drops), abundant in driftwood, broken trees, animal spawns, and scenic rocks. Multiple real world rivers, streams, and lakes modeled with water props. Water props placed so that ocean currents do not flow into inland rivers on the ocean facing south(you can dump waste into the ocean without it coming back into the rivers), but the northern deltas are filled by some ocean water. Highway 101 mapped out accurately(connections in the north and southeast). IRL non-existent railroad placed along southern portion of Highway 101, on eastern tiles, and down from the northern peninsula. Railway connections can be accessed by buying some of the 25 tiles(the tile just north of start location has two rail connections). Start location is the city of Ilwaco, with a man made bay area.
  4. Seaside, Oregon

    Version 1.0.1

    157 Downloads

Seaside and Gearhart Oregon taken from terrain party GPS map(18km, 1:1 scale). Scenic ocean side city right next to Lewis and Clark's path to the Pacific(Lewis and Clark River). Abundant in all in game resources. Ore and oil in the mountains, with fertile farmland near the river flood planes. Highway 101 and Lewis and Clark Road placed by hand based off google maps. Hand modeled beach sloped correctly(no steep cliff drops), abundant in driftwood and scenic rocks. Lewis and Clark River, Little S Fork Lewis and Clark River, and Necanicum River modeled with water props. Water props placed so that ocean currents do not flow into inland river(you can dump waste into the ocean without it coming back into the rivers). The Lewis and Clark River drains out of map(north end) and can be used for waste dumping. Negative current water props placed near the rocky, beach side mountain to pull waste currents from the beach(pulls to the southwest corner of map). IRL non-existent railroad placed from north to south end of map(follows Lewis and Clark road for northern part). Railway connections on extreme north and east end of map(accessible with 81 tiles). Highway connection on extreme east near the railways connection(accessible with 81 tiles).

  7. Asoura - A Japanese village on the sea

REPLIES : Koriyama I sincerely appreciated your reactions and comments about my last entry. I wanted to thank you all before the replies. @MissVanleider Thank you, I am happy to see that you liked my work ! @MushyMushy I have also spent a lot of time on G.Earth to have this result. It is nice to see it was efficient, thank you ! @raynev1 Haha it is strange ! Living in France I have no problem. This was a song named Yoru no Odoriko, made by the Japanese band Sakanaction (one of my favorites, you should try to listen what they do) @kschmidt Yeah, I noticed that Japanese cities have a very large variety of buildings. They are absoutely not uniform. That is what I tried to recreate. Anyway, thank you ! @feyss "Banality" is maybe not the appropriated word. I just wanted to underline the fact that this city looks like any other one in Japan. I appreciated your remark, thanks ! @_Michael That was one of my goals, capturing the atmosphere. Thank you ! @jmsepe Like I told you in private, this beautiful tower has been created by APTX. Here is the link if anyone else is interested. @korver Thank you very much korver ! @Takingyouthere Yeah I saw that all the main Japanese CJs that I followed a few years ago had closed. That is a pity. I hope to see them opening again soon ! @Ln X Thank you for your comment, it is very nice ! ASOURA - A Japanese village on the sea My holidays end very soon, and then, I will have to pass my exams. I will be quite busy. That is why I decided to post this entry now, only a week after my last one. Asoura is a Japanese village located in the fictional prefecture of Koriyama. Compared to the biggest city of the region, just a few people live here, quietly. It is rare to see strangers aventuring in the area. There is nothing to see, except maybe the authenticity of the Japanese rurality. The inhabitants of this village are mainly fishermen. Indeed, Asoura is located between the Pacific Ocean and a bay which has the same name. To protect the city against the dangers of the sea, a big wall has been built along the beach. In 1994, a famous Japanese photographer flew above the city and took these photos. Asourans discovered for the first time the shape of their village. Today, they are exposed in the city hall. Click and listen ! (Shiki no Uta - Nujabes & Minmi) I hope that you enjoyed this entry ~ Do not hesitate to like and/or to comment !
  8. San Foca 2.0

San Foca 2.0 After a long break and Besides trying to recover data of cities after my hard drive died I recreated a more modern and realistic version of San Foca. I posted in the forum of AIN several images in the new version of San Foca and generally to Siculia even if you are currently the accomplishment of some cities in Cities Skylines. But now let's see San Foca. Here is the old part of town with a nice high speed railway train station A canal in the city centre The industrial zone of San Foca This is the national monument of the fallen for the fatherland We move in the main street where there is a high speed train station An area where citizens of San Foca live in peacefulness A piece of the Ain Nations embassies The autobahn in San Foca The Sun is setting and the light at night will light up. This scene seems catchy with this music And while the electric lights replace the sunlight here is the autobhan at night The Federal Parliament during thenight The President's House and the Palace of ministries San Foca and the sea Another area where there are embassies with a high speed rail terminal During the night the city becomes magnificent Here is the highway with its tunnel that divides the old with the modern part with its skyscrapers Finally we give a small insight in the financial district of San Foca And with this news bomb, is now closing! See you next article. COMMENT REPLIES: VIGATA kschmidt: Thank you very much. Aleister: I was experiencing the saturation of the colors are in the right path but there is much work to be done. korver: Thank you sunda: Thank you very much Takingyouthere: Thanks for the comment. To get that result, I had to struggle with the effects of photoshop.
  9. Region : Isle 001

Hello people! My name is Seb and today I am sharing with you a Region I just began to create. The name is a little bit odd... It might change as the region isn't complete yet. So the idea of the map I am building is to make it a large island with many medium/large sized islands on the other sides. Also, the coasts are very high and the most flat part is at the top of those cliffes. So now, let take a look at the work wich has been done yet. Feel free to message me here. Or even on Steam! http://steamcommunity.com/id/trylk248seb/ Now let see the work! Whoops! Images are unavailable... I currently am working to get 'em back!
  10. Stanley Seawalls

    Version 1.0.0

    6,281 Downloads

12/16/15: This was originally released as a PLEX exclusive, and has now been added to the STEX "as-is". Original Readme: Stanley Seawalls: Base Set ~by: blunder This is a simple set of seawalls inspired by and (loosely) mimicking the seawalls in Stanley Park, Vancouver BC. Menu Locations: Transportation > Water Item Order: -10 (near the top) Pieces Contained in this set: 1x left endpiece 1x right endpiece 4x ortho pieces (empty, lightpost only, light and flower planters, light and park benches) 1x Outer Corner (soft) 1x Inner Corner (soft) sadly the soft inner corner doesn't quiiiiite line up right. I've been unable to fix this feature, but will release a hard Inner Corner piece in an upcoming expansion. This set is provided 'as-is' meaning it is not perfect. Graphical flaws exist in this set which can usually be solved by rezooming or changing your viewing angle. What can i say? The game can be funny when displaying narrow geometry. dependencies: none! Feel free to drop any feeback in my BAT thread at simpeg: RIP simpeg. which is where i'll be most likely to see it. Cheers.

  13. Jaruna Islands [part 1/2]

Ahoooy ST! First of all I'd like to apologize for my English. I understand this language very well, but there might be few harmless mistakes in my writting Today I'd like to introduce my CJ called Principality of Jantra. We'll start with not big project called Jaruna Islands. This place is little bit inspired by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ertholmene. I'm going to divide this update on 2 parts, today I'm gonna show you general shots taken on spring time. 1. It's small archipelago. Actually there are two inhabited islands: Jaruna Island (bigger one) and smaller Dziewanna Island. 2. An entrance to the harbour: 3. The strait between the islands creates a perfect natural harbor: 4. There is small but charming town called Jaruna, only 100 inhabitants: 5. Main street: 6. 7. 9. A footbridge between Islands: 10. Short stone wharf on the Dziewanna Island: 11. A little bit of nature, there are a lot of lupins and other dwarf plants: 11. Rocky wharf: 12. A lighthouse on the top hill: 13. General overview: Cheers!

My first MMP, I hope you like it. SM2 Breakwater Concrete Blocks Concrete breakwater blocks have been used for a long time to diminish the force of impact from the awesome power of sea waves. You will find them around port areas and around important sea facilities such as refineries and other such structures. If you use dark water textures I suggest you lift the water floor to 7.5 meter depth. You will then be able to see the blocks under water!! I also strongly suggest you use my blocks together with other marina flora and rocks MMP's for best results. Look at the included pics for reference. No dependencies. Enjoy! Simmer2.

  16. Sea from the city centre

  17. Atlantic storm batters Cragmuir

From the album Photoshop Challenge (S3-05-E)

An Atlantic storm has reached the small town of Cragmuir on the Isle of Sialia as massive waves splash against the whisky distillery. Motorists have been advised against travel in parts of the Star Isles as the storm sweeps in on the Outer Islands. All ferry services to the Outer Islands have been halted as the storm is bringing heavy wind and rain, and visibility is expected to be reduced to zero. As part of the Photoshop Challenge I added whitecaps to the sea, as well as waves crashing into the rocks and sea mist rising from where the waves crash against the coast. I also added several layers of fog as well as reduced saturation to parts of the scene enveloped in the clouds of the incoming storm. This is my first attempt at adding waves and clouds to a scene, I hope you all enjoy!
  18. Siculia' ll be back

Siculia' ll be back After a few months break, here is the return of Siculia, but in the meantime, enjoy some preview of cities in Siculia COMMENT REPLIES: SURBO jmsepe: Restructure the transport system is very complicated but the traffic is the thing thatbothers everybody takemethere: Thanks for the comment. Southern Italian-style train station, that's where I found it. http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3340 kschmidt: Thanks for the comment. The Park was to be a common City Park but I was inspired by the Palace of caserta. As regards the channels I decided not to round them andmake them a little squares. Ln X: Thanks for the comment vinlabsc3k: Thanks for the comment, as far as the junction was a junction on the T, but then I decided to create a small road connecting the highway with the industrial zone. Anyway thanks for the tip.
  19. 800 FDU: Counterresistance organized

I've written this from the comfort of my provisional residence during our time in counteroffensive against the Hydrakoneians--at the Drakonfaucem Estate on the west side of Dragon's Head Island. The view is nice but the place suffers from vermin and disease festering on the swampy grounds. From this week's field visit to assess our preparations, paired with the scouting reports of third party accounts and our spies we have managed to compile a report of the situation of our next objectives. I'll be presenting it to the other members of the Council of the Republic and their team of advisors and ministers: THE SHIPYARD AND BASE OF OPERATIONS: Our shipyard has completed its fourth Aquamare ship, and we have gathered enough material to start work on two more. One of the new captains hired for their operation has brought us the concern that our shipyard may not be defended enough, especially not since our bay's fort has suffered major damage in the latest skirmish. The bay's defenses, at present, include the now damaged fort, a lighthouse aiding our scouting maneuvers and the narrow inlet to our harbor. Military engineers have proposed building two additonal forts: one on the opposite end of the bay's inlet and a third to secure the land supply line to the peninsula's fort. In addition they also propose adding a second layer of walls around the first fort in order to provide redundancy for the main military facility of our stronghold. Restoring our main fort is our current maximum priority SCOUTING REPORT FROM DRAKENSBERG: Our gathered information indicates mostly good news: the citizens are safe, the fields have limited damage and most monuments are safe and sound! Unfortunately not all monuments are in good shape. My official residence as Council Master of the Republic, the Palace of Winds, has been torn down and brought into ruins!! only the foundations and the sturdiest walls remain in place. Meanwhile they siphoned the city's resources into building a new palace for the military governor instituted by the Kingdom of Hydrakonei--spectacularly lavish waste of Drakenburguoise resources!!! The Drakensberg Port, or at least what's left of it, has been slowly armed since our defeat. They keep the three captured Aquamare ships, while also bringing reinforcements of their own fleet! What will be advantageous to our counterstrike is that the development of the city's commercial strip along the port has included infill of the riverbanks, this has reduced drastically the maneuvering space available for ships exiting the estuary. Maybe our counteroffensive will be successful enough... Providing great relief we have also found out the Drakensberg Cathedral remains safe and sound: no treasures, relics nor architectural features have suffered damage, replacement or destruction. The Town Square and the city hall also remain nicely in place. SCOUTING REPORT FROM TARAZED: Further investigation of the most recently captured cities paints a different scene in Tarazed--an important crossroads location between the continent and Dragon's Head Island. The city itself is very intact, save for the temple which has been replaced with that ugly looking Hydrakoneian shrine! They have also started fortifying the strait leading to Dragon's Head Island--currently a no man's land after the truce. What used to be a modest gatehouse to provide upkeep for the island's bridge and some of its forts now is a barrier to the free transit of commerce between us Drakenburguoise and the rest of the region. The town's forces also appear to be strengthening, albeit at a much slower pace. The town itself remains unfortified, and the harbor now provides safe berthing to two ships, with a third ship being identified on the move to this small harbor. All in all, the situation looks fairly easy to handle--its our extremely limited assortment of resources on the island that restricts a more devisive course of action. However, we have one nice opportunity to further develop Dragon's Head Island--its soft, flat expanses are very welcoming for agriculture, while its southern waters teem rich with sea creatures to feed our population.
  20. Rickport Memorial Bridge

The Rickport Memorial Bridge was built in 2001 for conmemorate the 4th centenary of the inauguration of the city. The bridge has 2 miles of lenght, it unites the city center with the new airport and the old fishing village. Rickport Memorial Bridge The northern ramp has a spiral form in memory of the architect of the bridge Richard Rampson: Some night shots: The illumination of the bridge has 3 colors, blue, red and white, symbol of the french emigrants who built the first buildings of the city: I hope you enjoy!

  23. Serpent Peninsula

    Version 1.0

    1,199 Downloads

Serpent Peninsula is a large, hilly oceanside location where there is plenty of space to build, and many deposits of resources and fertile land. There is also a waterfall which is *hint-hint* pretty good for sewage disposal. It is reccommended to use the Unlock all 25 spaces mod. To install: 1: Open the 'Run' window and type in "appdata" without the quotes. 2: Find the map directory in appdata/local/colossal order/Cities_Skylines/Maps 3: Place the .crp file in the folder.

  25. Small Town #1

So finally the update with the small town today, let's just begin. I don't really know why the custum §§R houses don't grow as much as I want.... (No MMP's but Arden seasonal tree controller) So I tried to build a town, I'm sorry there weren't much mmp's today. Have a nice evening! Replies: Huston: Thanks But I think the sidewalk is way too big, it should be more tight > Fox: Wow, that's a huge compliment I actually save often but I'm mostly too tired to restart and rebuild the small amount of "crash damage". It's just too annoying, that's why the update was delayed.
