    #### updated to version 1.1. See info below #### The 'Bundesanwaltschaft' (ingame it's called 'Department of Public Prosecution') is a relot of mattb325's beautiful Karlsruhe Courthouse. For my personal needs I turned it into a Police Station (6x5). The Bundesanwaltschaft hasn't regular patrol cars on his own but still a city wide coverage in ... well ... prosecution of crime. This is because most of the work is done by agents staying undercover, hacking mobile phones and wearing false beards. So you won't recognize them when present in your city. If you recognize them anyway, this means either you are wrong or they don't exist. Also you may wonder why there's so much park area on the lot. It's just to destract your eyes from the security cams. Don't get fooled - you might not see them, but they see you. Montly costs are $410 and there are 40 high security cells for public enemies like spies, terrorists and commuters from rogue neighborhood tiles. Consume and polution are moderate.     Karlsruhe Courthouse, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- The district attorney's office in Karlsruhe is presented in SC4 as a functional courthouse. It is a reasonably accurate representation although I have omitted the high perimeter walls which are just a little too imposing for my taste. In addition to providing your sims with 128 highly desirable civic jobs, it will help alleviate the commercial and residential demand caps that can hinder city development by providing additional regional demand of over 80,000 CO§§ spaces and 10,000 Residential spaces. Given the way that the game is designed, in addition to providing health, education, safety, etc, using rewards is an absolutely necessary part of being able to develop large cities and regions.     Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Inspired by the recent SC3000 uploads, the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), San Francisco is a non-profit organisation and holds an internationally recognised collection of modern and contemporary art, and was the first museum on the US West Coast devoted solely to 20th Century art. The present building was designed by Mario Botta in the late 1980s and the building - as depicted here in SC4 - was completed in 1995. It was recently given a large extension in 2009, but I have not modelled that part of the building. This building acts as a Museum and sits on a 4x4 lot providing 315 highly desirable civic jobs and gives a large educational boost across a wide radius.     Old Delaware County Courthouse, by Mattb325. A request by a fellow SimCity player, this building drew its inspiration from historic photos and drawings of the Delaware County Courthouse that once stood in Muncie, Indiana. Sadly, this eyecatching courthouse with its high victorian 'wedding cake' design and grand side staircases was demolished in the 1960s. This game asset is offered as reward that DOES NOT replace the original in-game courthouse (nor any other custom lot) and it is offered without the need for pre-existing criteria to be met. It can be placed more than once in a city and can co-exist with the default Maxis courthouse reward if you so wish. In addition to the benefits of enhanced crime fighting offered by the courthouse, I have modded this building so that it also provides 50 very desirable civic R$$ jobs, has a positive effect on commercial areas, provides a landmark effect, improves the mayor rating and is useful in lifting residential demand caps that hinder city and regional development.     I've been out of the CJ game for awhile now because of some personal things and school but I'm ready to start regular content creation again. This is a nature scene meant for the Catalina Hills post but it didn't make it in. Spring shot of the newest department store in town. I present another civic building: this is an example of the Beaux Arts style which was popular for government buildings in the late 1920s and early 1930s, as its domineering style represented stability and permanence. This game asset is based on a real building in the US city of Texarkana and in game it is modded as a similar variation of the Bureau of Bureaucracy. Like the Bureau of Bureaucracy, this is found in the rewards menu and sits on a 4x4 lot. Unlike the Maxis counterpart it is available at any time and can be placed more than once. Like the in game version this building provides highly desirable civic jobs, and helps raise demand caps and mayor rating which is vital if you are to continue building a large city. It DOES NOT replace the in game version and both the Maxis and my version can co-exist in the same city if you wish. Iron Bay has had 8 major disasters due to fire. The downtown area city has been rebuilt from the ground up 8 times in its lifetime. Below you will find a view of the downtown area and some of the further metro area.
  21. Iron Bay Transportation Guide

    Hello Everyone. Below is the outline for Iron Bays Transportation methods: Iron Bay Transportation District is is the authority operating public transit services within the city of Iron Bay. The areas highlighted in yellow represent the avenues that run throughout the city. Generally these are used throughout the day, however volume on these streets is significantly lower than that of the volume on the Light Rail System. The avenues were the first main use of transportation in the early days of Iron Bay. The areas highlighted in Red represent the Light Rail System of Iron Bay. The light rail was first built as a method of transportation from the then newly designed neighborhoods of Mayors Grove and Country Club. Light Rail Operations were mainly to advert traffic from the avenue and highway onto the Light Rail using a Park and Ride System. Customers of Park and Ride are offered free parking in exchange for their use/purchase of a ticket to use the light rail system. The Transit District was originally farm land that was purchased by the Iron Bay Transportation District during the expansion/creation of Mayors Grove and Country Club. This neighborhood was designed as a testing ground for the tracks and maintenance of the current cars on the track. After a few offices were built, the Transit District became a trending neighborhood due to it's "raw aesthetics". Because of this, many buildings have been built around the existing tracks. Currently there are two main areas of study for future planned routes of the Light Rail System. These are highlighted in black on the map. There is a plan to use existing lines to move further into country club. Offering a Direct Line to the Country Club. The other line would be an expansive line from University Park to Convention Center while passing through Tech Center and City Zoo. This same line would also offer a new expansion from City Zoo to downtown. This will be the biggest addition to this line since the Airport line was created. Between Highways, The Light Rail System currently uses a Underground Connection to connect the Light Rail System. This plan was implemented in the beginning of the Light Rail and has continued since. You can view these highlighted in Green. The areas highlighted in bull represent, I-6, I-90 and I-36. I-6 will take you from University Park to PoWaSa and I-90 runs from a neighboring city into Country Club and then between University Park and Tech Center. I-36 will run from River North and NoBe to Convention Center and PoWaSa. All of these routes have onramps leading to downtown.     Oran-Nayar-Blinn Research Center, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- I really like the in-game research center, but I dislike the fact that it generates radiation, reduces residential desirability, lowers your mayor rating and is something of a NIMBY building. It seems like a lot of sacrifice for the benefit of increasing High Tech Industry (IHT) demand and desirability. So, I've made another research facility which has all of the benefits with none of the draw-backs. The Oran-Nayar-Blinn Research facility is a strikingly designed ultra-modern building situated on a leafy 7x7 campus-styled lot. It is just as suited to the middle of an industrial area as it is in a suburban or ex-urban space. In addition to providing your sims with many highly desirable civic jobs, it will help alleviate the IHT demand caps that can hinder city development (by increasing IHT demand by 130,000 places). It has also been modded to provide some residential and commercial cap relief by providing both Park and Landmark effects. All these benefits do have a cost (which is only fair). In addition to the §25K outlay, this will set the city back §250 per month. * It is offered as a reward without needing pre-existing conditions. * It is located in the REWARD Menu. * It can be placed more than once in a city. * It DOES NOT over-write the in-game Advanced Research Center (or any re-lotted versions there-of), so can be used in conjunction with the standard Maxis reward.     Bankstown Council Chambers and Civic Center, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This is a campus-style council chambers and civic center building. This is a modified model based on the auditorium, council offices and tourist information kiosk of a similarly scaled complex in suburban Sydney. This is a very specific architectural style that was popular during the 1960s and 1970s, when Tehran was one of the most sophisticated and popular destination for western tourists. Unfortunately, the tumultuous events of the late 1970's saw Persia (as Iran was then known) loose its shine with the West; but as with all exotic things popular in the west, this popularity found expression in borrowed architectural styles making their way into western cities. Civic architecture was an early adopter of this simplified Persian style; the main building of the Lincoln Center in New York is a particularly famous example of this style, but there are very few other examples in SC4. In the Persian style, all of the typical, classical ornamentation is reduced to very simple, strong geometric shapes. It was undoubtedly modern; but probably seen as a more sophisticated architectural expression than the somewhat similar atomic & googie styles which were prevalent at the time. Thankfully, all three styles fell out of fashion. This BAT functions as a government building and town hall in game. In addition to providing your sims with 310 highly desirable civic jobs, it will help alleviate the commercial demand caps that can hinder city development. It has also been modded to provide residential cap relief and increase desirability.
