    the lizkond tag is there for tagging purposes and nothing else. why hello there everyone. no longer will i write these with much of a story, it's all just messing around. this is my first city since a two month hiatus because i didn't wanna play anymore. partially because my kitten's death drained everything outta me. but, i'm ready to roll rumble and do the things!!! picture one: read the cj desc for why there is a grid and zero traffic. this uses the by manuel-ito. download all his relots they're phenomal. above it are these lone houses on the road leading to the town and small neighborhood. we'll go back and see the neighborhood real quick. here it is!!!!! lot more maxis houses grew than usual. the lake it wraps around. the roads follow the river(?)(i forgot if it's all a lake or a river turning into a lake) it offshoots into a small commercial place. There's a gas station, convenience store, autoshop, mcdonalds, and one of those fancy looking restaurants that just sells burgers. OH HEY A BIG NEIGHBORHOOD main neighbahood!!! the tennis center court place made by someone i forgot rsc i think???!!?!?!?! it's really good tho! changing rotation now!! trash college commerce and the pumping station! some stores! logistics area place thing!!! shops farm road offshoot from the neighborhood farm t-intersection entrance to another small neighorhood cul de sac one cul de sac two end roundabout high school and some old timey market that sells organic stuff older historic nice pretty cool good neighborhood The canal goes under the farm, comes up in the middle, and continues on. and then it ends. Well, I hope you all enjoyed. Dunno how frequent future stuff will be, but towns are gonna be faster for now. OH AND FULL CITY PICS WAMA JAM SAM SEEYA!!

    This region contains one island, about 416 square kilometers. It was created for my city journal which i'll post a thread about later. It is my first map so constructive criticism is welcome as i'm terrible at terraforming. (Especially mountains) It is also perfect for building a major metropolitan area, building an agricultural nation, or just simply making the equivalent of Hong Kong and maxing out population. (You would have to get rid of the mountains and rivers first) This map has no dependencies, it looks like it is your lucky day.

    Greetings all. This is my first upload to the Simtropolis community, and I hope despite the bad quality, you can find some enjoyment out of my creation. -------------------------------------------- As you can see by the title, this map is basically a big square that fits (sort of) into a 1x1 tile in the game (an area of 2km squared in the game). It technically isn't a square, since I have modified a small area north of the highway entrance of the city to be able to fit water and sewage pumps, so it's playable in the one tile, but that doesn't really matter, and also to get the highway and railway down to ground level, and have them enter at 90 degrees to the tile border, I have made a slight outcrop into another square. Unfortunately, I suck at making things. A lot. And this map is just one example. The edges aren't very straight, and venture very slightly outside the 1x1 tile this map is supposed to cover; this will be fixed in the future. Also, since I made this in about 5 minutes or so, it isn't very realistic (not in the sense that this island can't exist in the real life, which it can't); the sea floor is set to 60, sea level to 65, and land height is 70, so forgive me if you get annoyed by the sea floor being visible, I will fix this in a newer version. Also, there may be a few dents in the island, since I didn't bother properly smoothing it out. Also, you may be wondering what the (A) in the version number stands for. Well, there are going to be at least 2 versions of this map. Version A is playable normally (in theory), with all connections available, and everything is buildable in the one grid square. The second version, the B version, will not have any road connections, and therefore is impossible to start your city in without mods. I am also thinking of making a C version, with resources available, subject to user interest. Installation: Place the .crp file in C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps I hope you find some enjoyment from my map. Cheers, ApexDriver

  12. How to...#1 Developing suburbs

    I thought it would be interesting to show you my style of playing. Maybe I can help you or maybe you can help me, so please give me as many tips as I can:D At first I search for an area (in this case I used the edge of the RHW intersection I build for the last entry) and start to laying the street grid (I make it as curvy as I can, so it doesn't look like a chess board:3) After that I already begin to zone It will be a suburb of a bigger city, so I let there be some agriculture too. Then I plop some parks to make it a nice place to live and raise the ground value (it's realistic too). (Sorry for all the stupid icons, I forgot how to put them off, although iCities told me how to do it:3) Also I re-propped some of the conifers and some deciduous trees (they look good in suburbs as filler for small areas, the conifers to fill bigger places, I think). Then I plopped and mmp'd some other details like supermarkets and a meadow. I placed highway signs too, but I somehow deleted the picture Now it's finally time to place a power plant and start the simulation! Nailed it. But that's just one parcel of land, to make a real connected suburb you have to do something like this many times between the main roads, so it's pretty much work. But it's totally worth it:) That's it for today, have a nice evening folks! Edit: I will probably continue the development of the town as filler entries in the next weeks (=as small series). Replies iCities (all three comments): Just surf on the STEX and the LEX and the PLEX, you will find much cool stuff I use too:) Some of my basic mods are the NAM, Girafes' trees, nearly everything by VIP, the Arden seasonal tree conroller, many buildings by Mattb325 (search him on the LEX), and JMyer's Homes. Also I use a Maxis-WHI stop mod, so there only grow custom content. Yeah, poorly photoshopped and it's nice to hear I'm not the only one who's upracticed with the NAM:D Ace❤: I'm sure you could do this in half of the space, yes^^. You're welcome:)

    So finally the update with the small town today, let's just begin. I don't really know why the custum §§R houses don't grow as much as I want.... (No MMP's but Arden seasonal tree controller) So I tried to build a town, I'm sorry there weren't much mmp's today. Have a nice evening! Replies: Huston: Thanks But I think the sidewalk is way too big, it should be more tight > Fox: Wow, that's a huge compliment I actually save often but I'm mostly too tired to restart and rebuild the small amount of "crash damage". It's just too annoying, that's why the update was delayed.

    This mod adds the large fire station garage to the small fire station. The garage has a different styling and truck than the small fire station garage. The large fire station garage has the hook and ladder truck, which is way more efficient than the standard one. In this mod, you can place 4, and it shares the count with the small garages.     By request from the Simtropolis BAT Request thread. I present an Oil Buoy for use in your industrial or seaport areas of your city. This buoy functions as a point for loading or offloading liquids and gasses to service large tankers. Cost: $5 maintenance
  19. Heyho, well because I was bored I made some shots for another entry of my "how to build stuff I do all the time". At first I laid out the zones. Because it's just a small Maxis-city tile, you can do this at once, and press "Start" if you already zoned the whole area. You see, for a farming town (with SPAM, because the vanilla-farms wouldn't create enough jobs for a whole town), you primarly need residetials and, yeah, farms. A bit of commercial at the crossing of the highways creates additional jobs for the objective people (R§ and R§§, of course the stupid engine want to build many mansions in the town, which are going to dilapidate because there are no jobs for them. That shouldn't happen in your city). Then, you need energy and water. I'm sorry for the ugly yellow line on the edges, the development would've start otherwise. After that, some public establishments. Bus stops, parks, a clinic, a small schoolhouse and a fire station in this case. The last step: Profit! A closer view of the town.     This is technically my 2nd mod, but its my first homemade one. This mod adds the french police car lot to the small police station. The French Set is required for this mod to work. The difference from this to the regular police car is that the french police car is much faster than the regular. Special Thanks to: CapTon, for teaching me how to mod Thanks again buddy! Enjoy!     Hello everyone! I did this mod based off of 00Stevo's it took me loads of time, so I hope you all enjoy! You can now plop the fire helipad on top of the small station or one any of the small station's garage. You can only plop one (if it were possible, I would make it so that you could plop more). How to install: 1. Unzip the file after downloading. 2. Copy and paste the .package file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games/SimCity/SimCityData. Features - Upgrade for your Grade School's buses - Doubles school bus capacity from 40 to 80 students - Uses existing models and textures, only swaps the school bus and bus lots Note - The default bus lot is visually identical to the large school buses. However, these two buses are technically "small buses" and will only transport 40 students. You may bulldoze this lot and replace it with a new bus lot to gain the extra capacity. I am working on a fix for this with a future update.     Hello Simtropolis! This is the first file I've ever uploaded to LEX, and the first region I've ever created. This is a small region (8x8 small-sized city tiles) based on the land of Equestria from the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic done after a long pony marathon and a. I'm using this map and its successors as a creative outlet and a method of improving my region-making skills. Once I've got the hang of Terraformer, I'll be putting up an improved 16x16 small-city tile version, hopefully with a less-borked Ponyville-Appleoosa and Unicorn Range area, as well as a more defined Horseshoe Bay and a better-looking Canterlot mountain. I use Cycledogg's Columbus Terrain and the Lower snowline patch, the Columbus no.7 tree controller, and one of Pegasus's water mods (I forget which, and I can't check my plugins since I've datpacked everything) to make the region appear as it is in the screenshot. I also spawned hordes of horse herds while planting trees for fun. Comments and suggestions are welcome, and please speak your mind if you have anything to say, even if it is a rant. Once again, enjoy! EDIT: Don't use the grayscale heightmap file. It has recently come to my attention that the image which I have exported from Terraformer is broken, in that SC4's importer considers all of it to be below water. I'd fix it, but I don't know how. For now, please use the SC4M and Terraformer to import the region. My sincerest apologies.

    Just a filling today. So I hope you all know these "Damnit" Moments we all have time to time? I tried to build a small, lovely town with industrial zone in the north and a rail and -bus system. Look what i got: I didn't even want to get mid wealth! That's the reason why I like mmp-ing, you'll never have such problems. Anybody knows how I can get rid of that? No demand mods installed and not even a huge demand for mid wealth at all. have a nice evening though
  25. It Begins... (Update I)

    Hi guys, I've been on this site a while now, and have been posting some of the things I make around the forums, but had no real way to lump all my contributions together. Also, my old region has bugged, so its time for me to start over again, so I thought I may as well have a city journal to keep all the stuff from my new region in At the time of writing, this is what we have so far: Just finished dialling in my region with terrain and tree controllers. I've decided to go for the ARDEN Seasonal Tree Controller (Inland version) after seeing how pretty it is in the NORO Co-operative.
