cities in motion [CiM] Toronto (1280×1280)
CiM Archiver posted a file in Cities in Motion's CiM Maps

A Cities in Motion 1 map very loosely based on Toronto, Canada. Toronto, the capital of Ontario, Canada, one of the most diversified cities in the world, a place to relax, fun, party, and much, much more. Author: unknown Minimum starting year: 2020 Size: XL (1280×1280) Timeline: No Note: While based on Toronto, this map diverges from its real-world counterpart heavily and takes numerous creative liberties. Most locations are represented symbolically, bodies of water are extremely exaggerated and geography generally is inaccurate. If you value accuracy and realism, this map most likely is not for you. Disclaimer This map was not created by me. It was created by an unknown user, who posted it on the CiMx site before its closure in 2015. The files were retrieved from Internet Archive and posted here for archival and accessibility purposes. If you are the creator of this map and wish to be attributed or for this upload to be taken down, please state so in a comment below. -

This is the core of southeastern Ontario, Canada, condensed to allow more creative freedom in choosing which communities to represent most, much like what Rockstar Games does with their maps for Grand Theft Auto games (the only differences being: the geography of this region is 99% the same as the geography of its real-world counterpart (only the scale is condensed,) and this isn't a spoof region with a spoof name.) Large tiles are given to Toronto/York Region/Peel Region, Hamilton/surrounding areas, Niagara, London (Ontario,) Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge, and Buffalo. Buffalo/a thin slice of New York State is included in this region because the shape and size of the region allows it to be. Size: 16x16, a mix of large and medium tiles along with a few small tiles Geography: Flat version How to install: Extract the .zip folder, then put the main folder in your Documents/SimCity4/Regions folder. -

This is a set of 40 flags rendered in HD. 38 of the flags are of automobile manufacturers and the other 2 are large flags of the United States of America and of Canada, typical of the flags flown at auto dealerships throughout North America. They are intended to be used as props, perfect for auto dealers, corporate headquarters, or racetracks. A 10x1 ploppable lot (as pictured) is also included, which can be found in the Parks menu. This pack will be a dependency for some of my future uploads. Flags included in this pack are: National Flags: Canada (large), United States of America (large) Corporate/Brands: Acura, Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, BMW (M Division), BYD, Cadillac, Chery, Chevrolet, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GM, Geely, Genesis, Honda (Blue), Honda (Red), Hongqi, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Mitsubishi, Mini, Lincoln, Nissan, Nissan (Nismo), Porsche, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volvo, Xiaomi, Yangwang There are no dependencies for the ploppable lot other than the flags already included in this pack.- 1 Review

I was tired of seeing maps that were not fun to play on because they had very little buildable area and also were an unrealistic place for people to settle. Most maps being too big (100s or 1000s of tile) or too small (3-4 large tiles), this map is 10 tall by 9 wide with 95 large tiles and about 20 medium ones - it will look full after about 6-11 cities although you could contextualize an urban core with a small handful of cities like 3-4; the tiles are staggered allowing for commercial (office) centers for those that want to do a large international airport challenge. The file size is respectable is 41.6 mb compressed or 80 mb unzipped - so player won't be complaining if you play multiplayer via your private sc4mp server (feel free to invite me) or file swapping. A retro version of this region is already on 2 sc4mp multiplayer servers with different owners that aren't me. This is the biggest version with the most buildable area, I also fixed some of the hills and contextualized the coast a bit by expanding it. This map is a river valley map, of a hypothetical fictitious small state. Some people will prefer to densify the hills and some flatten, others will add touches or leave the way it is. Download the zip and extract to your regions folder. -

Hey all, Today I want to take a deep dive into a topic very close to my own heart: The Jughandle Intersection! This setup uses highway slip ramps or clovers with an at-grade intersection to avoid conflict points with left turning traffic. The advantage of this setup is that high-speed traffic can use the left lane at full speed without drivers slowing or merging into left-turn lanes. This eliminates the possibility of left-turners congesting a turn lane and stopping traffic in the lanes of the roadway. They are common (and infamous) in my home state of New Jersey - birthplace of both the jughandle AND the cloverleaf interchange! I've been hunting for international examples, and I'm surprised they are not in wider use or I have trouble finding them. Here are some examples from around the world, making creative use of space: Some have specialized industrial purposes, like these turns designed for log trucks. One is located in urban-industrial Edmonton, the other off a forested lane in rural Finland. And for left side drivers, here are complicated right-hand turns! What's your experience with these intersections? Have them where you live? Please send me a link! - I will add it to my list! Considering building one for your SimCity? Show us here! NO LEFT TURNS!

Welcome to the beautiful prairie town of Dog River, Saskatchewan which is actually set in Rouleau, Saskatchewan, Canada. This town is from a Canadian show called Corner Gas. You have the main location, the iconic Corner Gas station along with the Ruby. Fill your vehicle's tummy at Corner Gas while listening to Brent's witty comments, and fill your tummy at the Ruby while you're at it. Oh and btw, don't forget to visit the Grain Elevator. Want to buy something at the mart? Run to the Foo Mar. Yes, it's called Foo Mar. Town meetings are fun (according to Hank) at the town hall. The newspaper in Dog River is kind of exaggerated, thanks to Howler. You can buy liquor & insurance from the liquor-insurance store. Yes, you read that right, a store that sells both liquor and insurance. Kinda ironic eh? Fire? Don't worry, fire fighters to the rescue. This small town also has a post office. Want to have a drink? Just buzz in at the Dog River Hotel for some beer. Run into any trouble at Dog River, just holla at Davis and Karen - the two cops who take everything seriously, quite literally. In the mood for some friendly sport? Head to the curling rink. Prayer you say? Church I say. Water, water? water tower. Like to hear an old man ranting and raving all day long? Land on the doorstep at Oscar and Emma's house. He's quite a character, so is Emma.

Valemount between the Rocky, Monashee, and Cariboo Mountains is the fifteenth entry in my British Columbia series. This 5x5 large tile region is to scale at 419 km². Two versions are available to download: The SC4M file requires SC4 Mapper to set up. The png/config file for if you have a Mac or have preference for the ingame region import function. This version of the region requires downloading High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters and using "Mallow's Original 2500m.dat" file. Installation instructions are listed below. Note: The png/config will render somewhat different than the SC4M version. The first region screen preview shown here is the sc4m version with the Appalachian Terrain Mod, and the last preview is the png/config version with no mods. Region Installation Instructions for the png config version 1. Navigate to your SimCity "Regions" folder on your computer. 2. Create a new folder for the region in this folder and move the grayscale map png file and config file from this download into the folder. IMPORTANT: Follow the next few instructions so your region doesn't render underwater 3. Download High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16790-high-elevation-import-mods-w-erosion-control-parameters/ 4. Take only "Mallow's Original 2500m.dat" from the download and place it in your "Plugins" folders. 5. If you have any terrain mods such as the Columbus Terrain Mod, Middle European Climate Mod, or Appalachian Terrain Mod, etc. or related files you will probably have to temporarily remove them from the "Plugins" folder for the region to install correctly. 6. Launch SimCity 4 and load the new region folder you made. The region is flat but the tile layout is visible. 7. Hold the Ctrl+Shift+Alt+R buttons together which will display a file navigator in the upper left. 8. Navigate to the png file and select it. The game will show a screen as if it's loading a city tile. 9. Be patient and wait for the game to render the entire new region one tile at a time. Don not interrupt or switch away from this until it is completed and the game returns to region view. 10. Your region is done and ready to play! 11. After exiting the game, remember to remove "Mallow's Original 2500m.dat" and replace any Terrain mods in your "Plugins" you may have temporarily removed. Have fun mayors! Kelowna on the Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley is the ninth entry in my British Columbia series. This 10x10 large tile region is to scale at 1678 km² and also includes the community areas of Okanagan Mission and Rutland of Kelowna, Lakeview Heights and Westbank of West Kelowna, Okanagan Centre and Winfield of Lake Country as well as Peachland. The first region screen preview shown here is the sc4m version with the Appalachian Terrain Mod, the second preview is the same with Cascadia Tree Controller applied, and the last preview is the png/config version with no mods. 5. Oh no! The Great Flood has happened and major communities and routes in BC and Alberta are underwater! It's up to you to rebuild on higher ground and conquer this hazardous landscape! After making separate British Columbia and Alberta versions I figured I might as well combine both maps into a single region. This 12x9 large tile region is definitely not to scale. Oh no! The Great Flood has happened and over half of Alberta has become the new Alberta Sea! It's up to you to rebuild on higher ground! Contains some BC in the southwest. My British Columbia after The Flood map made me curious what the rest of Alberta would look like with the water level this high. This 7x12 large tile region is definitely not to scale. I also have a 12x12 large tile region of British Columbia after The Flood region available as well as a 12x9 large tile combined region of BC and Alberta after The Flood. Two versions are available to download: The SC4M file requires SC4 Mapper to set up. The png/config file for if you have a Mac or have preference for the ingame region import function.
