  1. 2021 Update

((OOC: Note that I'm greatly simplifying how this game works. Instead of having formal politician and business characters, everything will be entirely informal. You want to be mayor? Want to own the most influential newspaper in the city? Want to be a mafia boss? Just let me know.)) Washington Redskins to relocate to New Washington In so many ways, the Washington Redskins are forever entwined with the creation of New Washington. The team was decimated along with Washington DC, and it's owner Daniel Snyder has been a key investor in New Washington. Today Mr. Snyder announced that the NFL team would officially be moving to the new capital city. The public is asked for their suggestions on a couple of questions: In which town/neighborhood should the stadium be constructed? (MAPS) Should the team be renamed? Please reply to this post with your opinion on the issues. Jefferson Memorial Completed Following a citywide debate and vote, the Jefferson Memorial is remaining dedicated to Thomas Jefferson. Also being added on the monument is the inscription: Town of "Biden" Established The town of "Biden" has been incorporated north of the White House.
  2. Jefferson Memorial Debate (2020 Update)

Rulo selected for Capitol complex The designated growth area west and north of Rulo has been selected for construction of the White House, US Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial. The town of Rulo has quickly expanded to meet the National Mall. Protests shut down Jefferson Memorial A group of protesters have gathered at the Jefferson Memorial to prevent the completion of its construction. They are demanding that the Jefferson Memorial be renamed because of Thomas Jefferson's support of slavery. This has sparked a debate in the city on whether the memorial in that location should be dedicated to someone else. Please let your voice be heard in the poll attached to this post. Brenner Field becomes 1st official airport in district Brenner Field in northeast Falls City has been officially designated by the City Council as a city airport. Mayor Kevin Williams said at the announcement, "We hope that the airport's close proximity to the White House and Capitol will bring quick growth to what will likely become New Washington's downtown area." 2020 Business Update Industry Demand Utilities 2,116 Restaurant 506 Store 828 School 607 Medical Center 1,012 Office 83 Annual Company Financial Overview Company Player Industry Last Year's Cash on Hand Sales Profit Misc. 3. Worlds on the Edge

Storyboarding Using SimCity 4 Regions "A storyboard is a graphic organizer in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storyboard In the region view above is a simple linear storyboard. Regions may be made up of 3 sizes of rectangular tiles and several elevations. SC4 space is scaled in 3-dimensions, technically referred to as 'trimetric' projection. Text can be entered as region, city, and mayor names, and text can be written directly on the tiles or as signs placed on the tile. --/-- Worlds on the Edge There are 6 large city tiles, one is used twice. Each city represents a condition of the world. All conditions are considered to exist simultaneously at any time. The story is arranged so that neither the past nor future are conclusive, but between each condition exists the possibility of either worsening or bettering condition, looping back or forward in time. Its a world in constant danger and great hope. On January 26, 2017, the Doomsday Clock maintained by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists was moved to 2.5 minutes to midnight, the closest its been since 1953, so we begin our journey with a view of our fractured futures... I. Fractured Futures II. Past Paradises III. Transitional Cultures IV. Civil Foundations V. Industrial Crisis VI. Utopian Skies VII. Engineering Imperatives This CJ entry does require a concluding commentary, and I've been writing and re-writing, attempting to grasp the complex of images and ideas I've presented. Storyboards are supposed to be concise and brief, giving only an outline of a story and a sense of its meaning and purpose. Art came long before science, culture, civil structure, industry and technology, the first order, and no other being than human beings that we know or can imagine, does make art. Robots can be programmed to make art, but true art comes from a deeper place than machine, animals can dance and sing, exhibiting great passion and character, but true art comes from a higher place than matter. So its 2.5 minutes to midnight in a world of great conflict and crisis on every level, from the beginning, all through, and to so far. Before the technicians, engineers, managers, and performers can do their thing to resolve the conflicts and crises, the artists must do their thing. The science department has informed the arts department we are down to a 2.5 minute warning before the end of the show and there is no further data. In the entire universe we may even be the only ones that made it this far. My first question in assuming responsibility and pulling artistic license is "How many time-outs do we get?" I've got 10 billion lines of code to process... --/--

  6. Welcome to everyone to the first update of my new region. (In the last years I saw a lot of people trying to create a asian/japanese themed cities. I must share my opinion about this. Even if I like the pictures I don't share the ideas or the realism of their regions. I've been working with the Japanese style since the begining of my history in this game and after a lot of years, projects and a long list of regions and cities I think that finally I got a good result, it is at least realistic in terms of realism)

  9. im having a problem with this one region i downloaded (and modified) for SimCity 4. I downloaded this region: ^it's the 48 contiguous states of the USA. I truely love this region because it's very beautiful, However, i wanted more 'space' with it. as in make the whole map bigger. So what i did was, i doubled the size of the config, which would make the entire region twice the size as it is. and followed the readme steps included with it, i did nothing to the gray-scale image though. However, whenever i try to load the region in my SimCity 4 game, it crashes before it can load the region. the game crashes, not my computer. My computer is a MSI gaming laptop, so it should be able to handle the region, i guess, despite it's massive size, but the game crashes when i try to load it. I even turned down all the graphic settings to their lowest settings and it still crashes when i try to load it. I'm just wondering, does anyone here know if there's anyway to get the increased-sized region to work? please help ♥ and if u have any questions, just ask.
  10. I'd like to take a region and make a new region that has the same overall topology but is 4 times the size (twice as long in each direction). Is there any easy way to do this?
  11. Harrington SC4 Entry 6: Hard to Port!

Replies: Ducio: Thanks and glad you like the church. I'm pretty sure I've pretty much downloaded all the churches I could find on the STEX and SC4D so I get the most variety out of my church in every village rule, the small ones are hard to come by though so if you have any suggestion that would be brilliant. As for the houses, I feel a bit sorry for them too, though, they are getting a house a hell of a lot cheaper than anywhere else in the region. Plus, the majority of them moved in after the dump and industrial units were built so I'm saying that's their own fault! Entry 6: Hard to Port! So, were back in Harrington and the surrounding area with another update on how things are developing over here. First the most exciting news is that it would appear that someone, somwhere has decided that some sort of even basic education would benefit the area and as such, has built several schools including this one in Harington itself. And this one in Roweaton. Pretty small and basic school houses really but some education is better than no education! Anyway fast forward several months and it would seem this education is paying off as some bright spark came up with the idea of having a small port to ship the large amount of farming goods out of the area in a more efficient way than standing on the shore and throwing them at passing boats. Welcome to Harmouth! (its the small town on the left of the top shoreline) Unfortunately, they built it on the north side of the Harrington bay so it only serves a third of the area effectively but oh well, its a start. Plus as you can see in the next few images its still grown a bit. Anyway that's where were at today. Nothing like a really sudden ending to a entry but oh well Here's a look at the region as it stands as well, just because I love region growth picture! Till next time!

In my Adobe class at college, I just learned the pen tool so when I got home, I started playing around with the pen tool creating various shapes to get a feel for the pen tool. I decided to turn those shapes into lakes for a region. And here you have it, a region created from me practicing the pen tool in Adobe.

Starting New PUBLIC Region, May 4, 2017 Username: Randy22E SimCity 2013, NA release, Digital Deluxe, 10.3.4 Individual Game Settings: Disasters disabled Text Chat Settings: Origin disabled, In-game enabled Server: North America West 1 Region Map: Viridian Woods Region Name: Heavy Trade 2 All welcome to join. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PROGRESS: No. 9 on Leaderboard for Simoleons. All cities full May 11. Pop. 965.000 ================================ Here's a link to the official site server list and status: http://www.SimCity.com/en_US/server-status Issues related to online game-play: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I haven't completed a list of official (non-user-created) DLCs for SC5 (2013), but below are general indicators of what variation there may be in content between players online: Editions: Limited, Digital Deluxe, Collectors Releases: Windows: NA, EU, AU, JP, UK, Worldwide, Mac OSX Latest Version: 10.03.04.00 ------------------------------------------------------- So far I have determined that user-created mods are less likely to cause difficulty in online game-play than the yet 'unfixed' condition of different official DLCs causing the 'unable to reclaim' error. If a city is abandoned by another player and you can't reclaim it, it is most-likely because of the variation in official DLC. Not being able to reclaim an abandoned city is most-likely the difference of which 'release' is being used by different players. Some content that was available for free and has been discontinued is furthermore likely to cause the error. ------------------------------------------------------ All welcome to join means ALL regardless of geographic location, release or OS. From the multiplayer menu you can view a region and visit the cities in the region without having to 'claim' a city to get inside to look around. This way you can choose from several public regions with active players to join, and then claim a city in one you want to play without immediately leaving behind an abandoned city that can't be reclaimed by others if they have different DLCs.
