These are some tipical Apulia (South Italy) houses. It’s my first attempt on BATting, so they may not be perfect. They all belong to the Euro tilesets and grow on medium and low density residential zones. The lots have 1x1 and 1x2 sizes. The only dependency is the BSC Common Dependencies Pack- 5 Reviews

3x3 Lot. The Palazzo dell'Università or Palazzo Centrale dell'Università di Catania is a monumental palace located in Piazza Universitaria, in the center of the city of Catania, region of Sicily, southern Italy. Since its construction, it has housed the main offices of the University of Catania, and stands across the piazza from the Palazzo San Giuliano, also housing offices of the university. It presently houses the offices of the rector, university offices, the Biblioteca regionale “Giambattista Caruso”, and a small museum of geology and archeology. The University of Catania is among the 15 oldest universities in Italy; it predates the other large universities in Sicily, Palermo and Messina, by more than three centuries. The impetus for the foundation of the university at Catania came from Alfonso V, King of Aragon, Sardinia, and Sicily who granted the foundation of an institution of Studium Generale with the power to grant titles of baccalaurate and doctorate. The first laureate graduated in 1445. The initial university home was a building alongside a seminary and adjacent to where the present Catania Cathedral. That site was razed to create the spaces around the cathedral, and the university moved to different locales until finding a home in 1684 the building of the ospedale San Marco, located at this site. However, like most of the city, the structure was razed by the 1693 earthquake. Construction of a new palace began within a few years, the present design is the product of some of the main architects of baroque Catania, Francesco Battaglia, and his son Antonino Battaglia, and by Giovanni Battista Vaccarini. The structure was completed by 1760. Further restructuring was pursued by Antoni Battisi after the earthquake of 1818, and in 1879 by engineer Mario Di Stefano with work on the portal. The piazza in front, once called piazza della fiera del lunedì, ultimately acquired its present name of piazza dell’Università. Behind the prominently arcaded facade, in the piano nobile, is a large hall (aula magna) frescoed by Giovanni Battista Piparo. The center of the palace has a large courtyard, decorated with an elaborate pavement design using black and white stone. The architect Vaccarini had used similar projects in the Collegio, now Convitto Cutelli, and the Collegio dei Gesuiti (adjacent to St Francis Borgia church).- 4 Reviews

RTMT: We need help with Italian translations for v4.
rsc204 posted a topic in Simtropolis Italia's Discussioni
Until a few minutes ago, I didn't even realise this club (or other similar ones) existed. I hope you'll forgive me barging in here in English, but on behalf of the RTMT team I have a small request. For various reasons, the Italian translations for RTMT are badly lacking. We'd really love to include as many native languages for the in-game Lot Names and Descriptions as possible. Currently I have a spreadsheet on the team's Google Drive, containing all the texts that need translating into Italian. Right now we have only 226 of 328 texts translated. That actually sounds worse than it really is, because most of the terminology does exist, so the job of translating shouldn't be terrifically difficult. It just needs a native speaker to help us fill in the blanks and give everything a once over. Most of the work is really just copy/paste stuff, but as you can imagine for those who don't really understand Italian, that's not so simple. If anyone is interested in assisting, please do get in touch either by replying here or sending me a PM. You don't necessarily need a Google account, but it would be helpful. As partial reward, you would get early access to the RTMT 4 Alpha build, which is currently nearing completion. Grazie- 1 Reply

Short Description: These are two small diagonal railway stations that I’ve found while looking through the Italian Collection by simcity4ever88. Since there are only few diagonal railway stations available, I took the liberty of improving it regarding lotting and modding and uploading it. This plugin contains 2 railway stations of different lot sizes, the building itself, however, is the same, and both lots have similar in-game values. For further information, please refer to the Readme in the download. Submenu compatibility: Users using the Submenus DLL mod will find these stations in the Passenger Rail submenu provided by memo. Available languages: English, German Dependencies: The Italian Collection: This plugin contains all building graphics. Link: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28443-the-italian-collection/ How to properly install the Italian Collection: Make sure to think twice before just tossing all files coming with the Italian Collection into your Plugins folder. You may obtain hundreds of lots in your game menu that you cannot (or don’t want to) make use of them; and some of them are growables that you can’t control. Please take yourself time to read these instructions. Step 1: Download the Italian Collection and unpack all files; you may want to check if you have installed the full v2.2, and if not, download the update. Step 2: Look into all subfolders of the Italian Collection and decide for yourself if you want to keep the buildings/lots you are getting – I’m literally talking about more than 1,000 lots! If not, just remove the corresponding files with the file extension .SC4Lot. You can remove or keep all of these files as it fits you best, this won’t affect the functionality of my plugin. You only need to keep all files with the file extension .dat, .SC4Model, and .SC4Desc. Short Description: This is some sort of administration building (its Italian name is “direzione compartimentale”; I couldn’t find any other translation as “compartmental management”, Google, however, pointed me to some Italian sites, leading me to the conclusion that a direzione compartimentale rules some matters such as railway transport, tourism, trade etc. on a regional scale) that I found while looking through the Italian Collection by simcity4ever88. Since it realls looks like an administration building to me, I relocated it into the Reward menu, it is, however, available anytime without the need to meet any requirements. Short Description: This is an ancient town gate that I found while looking through the Italian Collection by simcity4ever88. Aside from improving the modding, I didn’t change much. It is located on a 1x1 lot, but it is overhanging the lot itself and can therefore be placed adjacent to most networks with a width of 1 tile, in order to allow your Sims to march into your city in a triumphal and majestic way. Short Description: A while ago, a collection of Italian-style lots – the so-called Italian Collection, by simcity4ever88 – has been restored by the moderators of Simtropolis Exchange because the files had been stored on an off-site host which is not available anymore. After downloading this collection, I realized that it contains a huge collection (more than 1,000 lots!) of partially really beautiful buildings. Unfortunately, however, some of them are really poorly modded, up to the point that they may freeze SimCity 4 upon scrolling over them in the in-game menu, and, occasionally, the lotting isn’t much better. Therefore, I’ve improved both lotting and modding of some of these buildings. Real life doesn’t allow me to do this on a regular pace, but I’ve had a little time to work on some of the lots. This is a collection of several growable standalone apartments fitting well in suburban or slightly urban settings, with different sizes and different amounts of inhabitants. Contrarily to other buildings of the Italian Collection, these buildings don’t have a “typically Mediterranean” look; they can be combined with various other styles. Something that was sticking out somewhat was that with most buildings, the garages were built into the buildings themselves. Only occasionally, I needed to put in an extra garage or parking lot. This may not sound like something unique, but it gave me much trouble designing the lots: because it was always necessary to place the building itself on a large plaza, an entrance alone doesn’t suffice. This in turn occasionally causes the lot design to be repetitive and one-sided; I couldn’t avoid that. All lots have been modified to improve the lotting and modding a bit. For further information, please refer to the Readme in the download. Available languages: The item descriptions are in Italian, the Readmes are in English and German. Dependencies: The Italian Collection Version 2.2 or higher: This plugin contains all building graphics. Link: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28443-the-italian-collection/ Note: Again, some new graphical glitches have been discovered in the Italian Collection. They have been fixed now, but unfortunately, if you are having any version below v2.2 (which has been uploaded on June 28th, 2020), this requires you to update it in order to reflect the changes in-game. Please check the link to the Italian Collection again on what you need to do to update it, or download the full v2.2 or higher, uninstall any old version, and install the new version. If you are interested in the Italian Collection or have downloaded several of my relots, you may want to follow the Italian Collection - I can't guarantee that it's free from graphical glitches, it may be updated again in the future. How to properly install the Italian Collection: Make sure to think twice before just tossing all files coming with the Italian Collection into your Plugins folder. You may obtain hundreds of lots in your game menu that you cannot (or don’t want to) make use of them; and some of them are growables that you can’t control. Please take yourself time to read these instructions. Step 1: Download the Italian Collection and unpack all files; or check if you have installed the full v2.2, and if not, download the update. To uninstall this plugin, please bulldoze all instances of these apartment lots in your cities and then remove all files coming with this plugin from your Plugins folder. How to use the blocker files: All files with a file name starting with zBlocker will (as long as they load last) override the content in their respective counterpart file, making the growth of the residential buildings impossible. For the sake of good organization, I’ve placed all files with blockers in their own folders. As already mentioned, the purpose of these files is to give you more control over letting them grow or not. To make sure that these buildings grow, just remove the blocker files from your Plugins folder. To block these buildings, just put them back into a place where you can make sure that they load last (ideally in the folder zBuilding Blockers; you may want to keep the file name like this to make sure the folder loads after the folder with the normally growable lots). Compatibility: This plugin should be compatible with all versions of SimCity 4. If not, please feel free to tell me. Credits: @simcity4ever88 for creating these buildings in the first place. @CorinaMarie and @Cyclone Boom for taking the time to update the Italian Collection again due to these glitches. Therefore, I’ve improved both lotting and modding of some of these buildings. Real life doesn’t allow me to do this on a regular pace, but I’ve had a little time to work on some of the lots. This is a collection of more than 100 old town houses, most of them being wall-to-wall buildings. In accordance with their prop names (in most cases, at least), I’ve split them into 6 groups. All of these buildings are available as ploppable landmarks with commercial service jobs. A selection of them (mostly straight orthogonal buildings and corner buildings) are also available as growable buildings with residents on them. While admittedly nothing basically prevents you from using the default content coming with the Italian Collection itself and the lotting isn’t that much different, I took the liberty of turning all buildings into ploppables, which makes more sense with some buildings with odd shapes, and improved the modding a bit. Also, I tried to make sure that all houses themselves are aligned properly, to allow you to create seamless wall-to-wall environments (although this hasn’t always been possible, some of the graphics haven’t been designed very well in this regard; especially the Case con Portici set gave me much trouble when trying to align the houses.) Available languages: The item names are mostly in Italian, however, all other in-game descriptions, as well as the Readmes, are available in English and German. Submenu compatibility: Starting with Version 1a, this plugin has been made compatible with memo’s Submenus DLL mod, and has been split up into 6 submenus, each labeled with the name of the set. Users using it will find the menus either in the CS-$, CS-$$, or CS-$$$ submenus of the Commercial menu, or packed into another IC submenu in the Landmarks menu (see installation instructions below). Please refer to the Readme to see how the submenu icons look like. Dependencies: The Italian Collection: This plugin contains all building graphics. https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28443-the-italian-collection/ Important note: Recently, some graphical glitches have been discovered in the Italian Collection. They have been fixed now, thanks to rsc204 (see credits below), but unfortunately this means that all users that have already downloaded the Italian Collection before May 31st, 2020, need to uninstall it and then download and install it again in order for the changes to be reflected in-game. Step 1: Download the Italian Collection and unpack all files. BSC VIP Girafe Flora Pack: contain some mayor mode ploppable trees. In particular, you need: Chestnuts, Lindens, Norway Maples, Parasol Pines, and Poplars. https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/27-sc4d-LEX-legacy-bsc-vip-girafe-flora Various prop/texture packages: These just contain props, retaining walls, or textures and no lots. Unfortunately, they are quite a bunch, but there’s a high chance that you may have them already. Various Lot Foundations and Retaining Walls: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/31346-various-lot-foundations-and-retaining-walls/ Aqua Textures 1: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28675-aqua_textures_01/ BSC Common Dependencies Pack: https://sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/3-sc4d-LEX-legacy-bsc-common-dependencies-pack PEG MTP Super Pack: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/20966-peg-mtp-super-pack/ SFBT Essentials: https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/22-dependencies/13-sfbt-essentials Submenus DLL (optional): https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/36142-submenus-dll/ Installation: Step 1 (Installation): Please move or copy all existing files (except the Readme files) into the Plugins folder of your edition of SimCity 4. Step 2 (Submenu Setup): Only keep either the file IC_OldTown_Submenu Commercial.dat (which puts the submenus into the CS-$, CS-$$, and CS-$$$ submenus of the Commercial menu), or the file IC_OldTown_Submenu Landmarks.dat (which puts the submenus into the Landmark menu). Delete the other file. To uninstall this plugin, please bulldoze all instances of these old town building lots in your cities and then remove all lot files coming with this plugin from your Plugins folder. How to use the blocker files: All files with a file name starting with zIC_Blocker will (as long as they load last) override the content in their respective counterpart file starting with IC_Growable, making the growth of the residential buildings impossible. As already mentioned, the purpose of these files is to give you more control over letting them grow or not. To make sure that these buildings grow, just remove the blocker files from your Plugins folder. To block these buildings, just put them back into a place where you can make sure that they load last (ideally in the same folder where the files with the growables are, while keeping their file names). Compatibility: This plugin should be compatible with all versions of SimCity 4. If not, please feel free to tell me. Credits: @simcity4ever88 for creating these buildings in the first place, @rsc204 for providing me with a solution how to fix the already mentioned graphical glitches, @CorinaMarie and @Cyclone Boom for giving me permission to create an update and for uploading an updated version of the Italian Collection (even several times). Ciao Raga. Your comments, my responses: 01 - Senza Nome lit. "No Name". I want to present it as a clean slate from my old work as a Japanese SimCity 4 journal, hence its title, in Italian. @SimEmirate - You are welcome! Good luck on your new project and I really hope you post that here in Simtropolis. @tomz16 - (Hey! We actually got an Italian audience member [PS I'm not Italian so I could not reply to your first comment but thanks for the second one].) Grazie! I was already looking at some towns and cities south of Naples, and I got about 1 name from your method. It will be on the poll. I haven't seen anyone attempt a coastal Italian City due to the lack of good Italian Assets. It's almost pretty hard to achieve but I'm glad it's doable. @Krasner - I swear that I will not disappoint you or anyone with this attempt. @Belfastsocrates - Thanks! Enjoy this new update this time around, I've increased the heat a little bit. @nilepereiraa - Good try, but no (Seriously trying to prevent a Boaty McBoatface situation ) Please vote on the poll! We will reveal the name of the city a week from now. Before we move on to the update, I would like to thank everyone that sent me suggestions for this city. I've chosen 4 that were sent by readers during the past week. Now, it's your time to vote on the name of the city. After this, we will ramp up with the updates (possibly even going for video updates as we progress with the build). For now, we would stay in the classic update format. I also feel like I should add a story format to the entry. I was reading up on previous comments on the old journal that people are expecting me to write a good story. Please enjoy Storytime... And remember when I said maybe I should add an Italian rapper? Welp. --- "We used to hang out in Giardino dei Semplici." A man said while looking at the television camera. I had the chance to interview him for a piece on the recent tourism boom of the city. I was not expecting such a negative response from him especially he's one of the city's most well known individuals. "It was open back then and you can just walk over with friends to hang out and play games with them. There were not a lot of tourists back then trying to take a selfie from the garden. It was run down, with the protective fence broken in several spots; every evening it's a known hotbed of drug dealings and violence. The term "meet me at the fontana" had been synonymous with organized crime." The man, who introduced himself as Matteo, shrugged, appearing to turn away from the camera. "As children, we never knew what we were doing back then. I know that some of my friends probably have links to organized crime but they were still my friends. We were the "Blocco Boys" of the city. It was quite wild but it was probably the most enjoyable moment of my life. I knew us Blocco Boys recently got popular, as one of us became a big time artist. As for me, I got a position as a manager of a clothing store near the park. The giardino is quite different than what I had remembered." Matteo took the television crew towards the window of his room and let them look towards the garden. "I don't know what I think of this. My children could not even enter the park without paying for the amenities. After a television show-- not from you guys-- made it into a scene of a really popular drama, tourists started flocking the once run-down garden. Of course the city had to act up and renovate everything in the garden." Matteo looked perplexed or, according to my producer, infastidire. "I think the price to enter now was about 3 to 4 Euros now? I don't think my children would feel like being the "Blocco Boys" when there's some American tourist breathing down your neck. The city has a problem with tourists ever since the cruise terminal was built from the once run-down harbour. Along with it investments came in and the city got a little cleaner physically. However, It was not clean in the moral sense as there is an ongoing problem of intrusions and laundering from organized crime syndicates. Politicians remain corrupt and tourists were unknowingly funding a lot of illegal schemes. The park was one of them. After the rise of out of all things, a drama called "Park Boys" on Netflix as the man mentioned, tourists began to visit the park as it was the place where most of the scenes were shot. The old castello is situated nearby so it provided some spectacular scenes, especially at one time when the Capomandamento personally killed an up-and-coming rival, though no crimes other than the usual pick-pocketing happened at the park. The park remains to be a pick-pocketing haven for the wannabe "Blocco Boys" who seemed intent on following the now famous rapper's upbringings, though Matteo seemed to be unimpressed with the current slate mingling with the tourists. Matteo invited the crew to explore the neighbourhood. He walked us towards the garden's side gate, which was locked. But he pointed out where the original "Blocco Boys" used to hang out. The park has not been keeping up with graffiti recently, so this side of the park had been vandalized slightly. The crew went up the stairs and into the infamous fontana, which was surprisingly quiet today. Given, there are also no cruise ships in the port today, so it's the perfect opportunity for locals to check out the park. Matteo stopped us in front of the fountain. "Looks like the park staff never even bothered with trimming the flowers today. Nevertheless, this part of the park quite resembles Eden. The city had some good idea to turn it into a botanical garden complete with exotic trees that even I had no idea what it was." The park has a very dystopian feel. It's a good take on a classical garden, but breaks it by adding random plants. The garden definitely needed some cleanup. I'm not even sure if I can call this garden a paradise or hell. Even grass is growing out of place in the garden. The crew crossed the street and into one of the city's main squares. This is Piazza Santa Rosalia. The church was recently power washed so it looked out of place. Matteo bid farewell to the camera crew and towards his shop right across the piazza. Maybe another day we will have another chance to walk around town with him, but that's it for the first day of our documentary shooting. In the evening, the garden looks even more spectacular. Too bad it also magnifies pick-pocketing at this place. Alright. That's it for today. Leave a comment below. Grazie Raga. Arrivederci.

Description: This plugin fixes a brown box that appears on several growable and ploppable lots that come with the Italian Collection by @simcity4ever88. Technically speaking, this brown box occurs due to a modding error: Some buildings do have an RKT1 property pointing to non-existing graphics. This will cause a brown box to appear. I've fixed it by replacing this RKT1 property by a RKT0 property that Maxis themselves uses, thus, it should not occur anymore. This should not remove any substantial graphics from your lots. I've tested some lots with this new fix and it didn't seem so, at least. Several buildings with the wrong RKT1 property also were named with "blank", thus, I assume that simcity4ever88 intended this RKT1 to point to dummy graphics but made some error in the process. Aside from this graphical fix, I haven't changed any graphics or features. What to do if there are still brown boxes appearing? Please note that this does not necessarily mean that this fix doesn't work. Please consider these points: Make sure you've installed this fix properly (see below). Make sure you've installed the Italian Collection properly. There could still be some other modding errors unnoticed by me. It's entirely possible that you are missing other dependencies - unfortunately, I can't help you with that. simcity4ever88 has mentioned that his Italian Collection has some dependencies, but he didn't mention which ones. Since we are talking about more than 1,000 lots, it's really hard to find out the dependencies. Installation instructions: Move the folder "z_Italian Collection_Fix" into your Plugins folder. Make sure that the file therein loads after all other files that come with the Italian collection or this fix won't work. This is a collection of 15 palaces and villas in varying sizes and styles. They are working as civic buildings in the health and education sector. Their values are similar to the values of their Maxis equivalents, only some have deviating values. The only special feature: All of these buildings have a small landmark effect. Available languages: The item descriptions are available in English and German; the item names are in Italian due to being named after famous Italian people. The readmes are in English and German. The game will pick the language on its own. Dependencies: ...unfortunately, quite a bunch, however, some of them are candidates frequently used by me and other creators. The Italian Collection: This plugin contains all building graphics. How to properly install the Italian Collection: It is not recommendable to just put all files coming with this download into your Plugins folder! Firstly, some of the lots do not have got a menu icon, and this may cause SC4 to freeze upon scrolling over these lots in the in-game menu. Second, you may obtain hundreds of lots in your game menu that you cannot (or don’t want to) make use of them; and some of them are growables that you can’t control. Since the in-game houses of worship do not charge building and monthly cost, these churches are free to plop – however, for the sake of realism, not free of monthly maintenance cost. @rsc204 and @11241036 have been fixing little glitches in this collection. The version under the download button is now v2.3. If you previously downloaded v2.1 then you do not need to re-download the whole thing. Here's the direct instructions for what what was changed and how to update your v2.1 copy of it: Original description: Hi, here I post the link to my Italian BATs: a large collection of models and lots made by myself. They include W2Ws, condos, row houses, churches, palaces, factories, farms, canals, and other props, many of which you can see at work in my "Augusta, large Italian city" journal here. The total size of the zip is 230 MB total. Once unzipped, the download weighs 263 MB overall, and includes: The actual game files. The "BAT clips" folder, containing screenshots of most gmax scenes, so that you know which is which. The Readme, with more detailed information. Whatever files you choose to use, DO NOT DELETE the ones named "blank.." located in the "Lot props" folder, as they are needed for most lots to work. Unless, of course, you know for certain they are not needed for the specific lots you will be using. I'm sorry for not having time to properly upload my works one by one with documentation, dependencies lists etc. I hope they can still be useful to players who need Italian-themed content, as the latter is quite rare. Some lots, especially small ones, do not require any dependencies. If brown boxes do appear, the missing dependencies can be detected by using SC4Tool. Should anybody, after scanning some lot, wish to upload it directly to the STEX, he is welcome to do so, as long as I am mentioned as the author. Thank you and enjoy! Staff Edit - December 2021: As per their comment here, thanks to @11241036 for compiling the above dependencies list. EXTRAS In case some batter wishes to play around with my models, I will provide the link for the BAT scenes too -- at least the ones that survived my pc crush/change. Just let me know. The same for the automata I modded, which you can spot in my journal as well. They include buses, long trailer trucks, scooters, superbikes, etc, and are not included in my Italian BATs collection because some of them are modifications of custom content by other authors, so I can't claim full credit + their instances may conflict. If I get requests regardless of these issues, I will share them too. Simcity4ever88 -

Mole Antonelliana (Torino, Italy) by Beppe46 Both dark night and Maxis night versions! The Mole Antonelliana is the symbol of the italian city of Turin. It is situated in the historical center of the city, near the Vanchiglia quarter. It was built between 1863 and 1900 by Alessandro Antonelli. It is 167,5 meters high and today is the highest masonry in Europe. Originally it would be a synagogue, but now is the sit of the national museum of cinema. The red lights on the dome are the sequence of Fibonacci. This is Trieste's main square. Its original position is in front of the sea. The building that you can see is the "Municipio di Trieste" and it faces on the square on the fountain side. It is NOT included, but if you don't have it and you would like to download it, please go to my uploads page or search it with Keyword search. The lot is a little bit decentralized because i made a mistake with the building and to have the fountain right in front of the main entrance i had to draw it in this way. This place in these days is on every tv news, because in the palace of the region Friuli Venezia Giulia, that faces on this square, is going on the G8 summit with Foreign Secretaries and the Secretary-General of the ONU Ban Ki-moon. I think that this Landmark needs no introduction. Situated in Piazza San Marco, Venice, it was built between IX and XII century, and rebuilt between 1903 and 1912, after its collapse in 1902. The little loggia was designed by Jacopo Sansovino and built between 1537 and 1549. The belltower is 98.6 meters high, and 12 meters wide. Hello everybody. This time I reproduced a bell tower that is also the symbol of the italian city Cremona: the Torrazzo. It's 111 metres high and on its walls you can see an astronomical clock and a sundial. It was built between 1230 and 1309, and until fifty years ago it was the highest bell tower in Italy. The b.a.t. is accurate (the measures are perfectly correct), but the hardest part was finding decent textures for it (I'm not completely satisfied with them, actually). There's also night lighting.
