    Zeus Storage is a fictional business investigated by Mulder in the season 1 finale of The X-Files. Based off of a small industrial business near the Vancouver waterfront at 1616 Pandora Ave, which was an appropriate sounding address for the theme of the show, so they used the same street address for it's counterpart. A nondescript little filler building perfect for a dark 90's alleyway scene, I made the building a little smaller than it actually stands since I didn't think it looked photogenic enough as a larger building with a second floor. It's a simple CS-$$ building lotted for a W2W corner. Watch out for alien bounty hunters posing as humans...

  4. Entry 79 -- Grid-busting in East Awnsale

    Entry 79 -- East Awnsale Welcome back to another entry! Thanks a lot for your comments! If there are stretches of time between entries it is simply because I've busy with story-writing and my accountancy course. But you'll like this entry as this is all about grid-busting: diagonally and fractionally angled too! {---} 1. Today's area which this entry will explore. 2. The FA highway, the M6, was the first feature of Cindersville. Thus the first areas developed were right next to this highway. 3. For the FA buildings I used a mixture of C.P.'s and mattb325's FA buildings. 4. Cindersville has the greatest number of grid-busting city blocks of any city I have created thus far. 5. Even orthogonal zoning can have grid-busting if there are diagonal or fractionally angled buildings within the lots. 6. 7. Of course not only is there grid-busting but the countryside is fully MMP-ed up as well! 8. 9. Pure diagonals. 10. 11. The buildings to the right represent the western extent of the southern half of Cindersville's city centre. 12. For the back-alleys I used MMP cobble textures. 13. 14. Further MMPing, this time creating the houses' back gardens. 15. It took a long while MMPing both the street textures and then positioning the cars. 16. Orthogonal, diagonal and fractionally angled! 17. Another overview of Eastern Awnsale. 18. What we are seeing (up top) is the southern half... 19. Now it's time to explore the northern half. 20. But one more look at those FA buildings! 21. This roundabout happened by accident, by chance I realised that there a roundabout could be used to transition from FA-2 to FA-3 roads. 22. It's a great little accident because gives the appearance of the main road splitting in two. 23. The FA buildings here are C.P.'s industrial buildings. 24. Much of the northern half of Eastern Awnsale is built upon the mountain slopes. 25. There are villages further up the slopes yet only trees, ferns and paths separate these two distinct urban areas. 26. As can be seen here: to the bottom is the mountain village, on the top is Eastern Awnsale. This mountain village WILL be explored in a later entry. 27. The bottom of the picture shows the upper slopes of Pillar, one of the three highest mountains dominating the Cindersville skyline, the other two mountains being Mount Hefnall (already explored) and Rock of Heaven. 28. 29. Why use one of the parks from the menu when one can create said park with MMPs and a tree controller? 30. This park came about due to much of the area appearing very dry and rocky. 31. I emphasised the rockiness with gravel and rock cluster MMPs. 32. 33. I deliberately chose to use ferns for the lower elevations. 34. Zooming out we catch a glimpse of the western fringes of the northern half of Cindersville's city centre. 35. And this is where we get to the really good stuff! Note Pillar in the bottom right- that WILL be explored in a future entry. 36. Nearly all of the FA buildings were created by mattb325, they form his FA civic building series. 37. This area was MEGA fun to complete! 38. It's as if SC4 is no longer a grid-based building game! 39. It also took careful use of fillers to give each one of these FA buildings a notable presence. 40. You see these FA buildings usually come in the form of a building or an overhanging building- which leads plenty of space to create building grounds, car parks and other features... 41. This would never have been possible three or four years ago. So it's amazing to see how much this game has evolved thanks to new mods, buildings and fillers! 42. And the last picture for this entry. {---} Where next? Maular Valley! This valley is a VERY special area for it is a blend of suburbs, MMPs, grid-busting and some other unique features! For next Sunday as I have Thursday and Friday off to extend out my birthday weekend. See you then!

    KOSC Presents: Diego Del Llano Growables - 2017 Pack One Introduction This is set of growable, high-density lots made from Diego Del Llano's BATs that were released in 2017. The objective of this set is to provide growable alternatives to the ploppable landmarks in the original release for a more traditional gaming experience. While ploppable are amazing in their own right, it doesn't quite allow for one to experience the feeling of zoning a plot and having that shiny new tower pop up. Package Overview 4/14 IMPORTANT NOTE - this file currently only works with the DarkNite versions, and NOT MaxisNite - an update will be rolled out soon to accomodate the MaxisNite buildings Included in the following package are a set of growables for all Diego Del Llano's 2017 releases (excluding the Loop Postal Station building in the Federal Center Chicago set). A couple of the buildings have different occupant versions to satisfy different demand groups. There are TWO versions of the package you can download: Vanilla and CAM. The vanilla version has all of the larger buildings capped at stage 8, with capacities that do not exceed 7500. For those that use the Colossus Addon Mod, the larger buildings extend all the way up to stage 15 and boast much higher capacities, up to around 11000. If you desire to plop the growables, use the buildingPlop cheat and look for exemplars starting at DiegoDL_ (requires ExtraCheats.dll). General Stats All stats were generated with PIM-X. Vanilla versions differ only in growth stage and maximum capacity tweaks (for buildings that exceeded 7000 by default).     Thank you for looking at one of my low-income neighbourhood stores; something you could expect to see in the rougher ends of town. Featured here is Fabland; a take on the often-decrepit Fabricland that dots the strip malls of my home town. Aside from the anchor store, a couple of small, generic, convenience stores pay the rent for this little mall. It is a growable 5x4 CS$ lot. The building is Dark-Nite compatible.   10. Medieval CO buildings?

    I am currently working on building a city with medieval European architecture for a City Journal. However, the CO demand (both CO$$ and CO$$$) is getting in the way of building it. I have found medieval European buildings for CS and residential buildings, but I have yet to run into any of the Commerical Office type. Are there any medieval-style (European or West Asian style) CO$$ or CO$$$ buildings?

Zurich House, Portsmouth is an ancient BAT by Ill Tonkso that has been re-lotted for more modern SC4 standards. In fact, the actual building in real life is also getting a makeover.     KOSC presents: Folegate Leasings Introduction This is the 10th set of lots in my ITS Office Park series. Folegate Leasings is a set of ugly little fictional headquarters brought slightly back to life. Urghhhhh. Absolutely perfect for your generic, boring suburban business park. Package Overview Folegate Leasings comes with several different growable configurations and orientations. Like Holbourne House, this set comes with a centerpiece ploppable - a massive 11x9 monstrosity with 3 buildings. Similarly, all growable lots also boast parking lots with multiple entrances and were designed for expansion in mind. These were made to be combined with my SP Modular Parking Set. Included in the following package are a total of 10 lots: 8 CO$$ growables, 1 CO$$ growable and one CO$$ ploppable. These range from small, urban-friendly combinations to fairly large complexes. There are two different packages, the standard version and a LITE version. The LITE version is an adaptation that removes a lot of the perimeter CP seasonal trees and emphasizes open space and user preference. These were specifically made to cater to users that prefer their own choice of MMP trees and plants.     KOSC presents: Holbourne Offices Introduction This is the 9th set of lots in my ITS Office Park series. Holbourne House is another rather generic mid-rise from Ill Tonkso's City Set that fits well in an urban setting as well as part of a suburban office complex. While I have lotted this one before as part of my very first complex release, I felt that the individual buildings were worthy contenders as standalones. Package Overview Holbourne Offices comes with several different growable configurations and orientations. The centerpiece ploppable in the set is a large 10x10 semi-symmetrical complex with a couple of parking extender lots. Addtionally, all growable lots also boast parking lots with multiple entrances and were designed for expansion in mind. Like many office complexes in the suburban US, parking lots can sprawl several blocks and in all sorts of shapes and sizes and thus these growables were meant to play well with the SP Modular Parking Set. There are two different packages, the standard version and a LITE version. Tesco Supermarket is the first release of my RetailMania series and is a direct relot of gascooker's UK 24 Hour Tesco Supermarket. Package Overview This set of lots expands the supermarket to feature a full car park including handicapped spots, cart return areas and bonus greenery. These lots were designed with the UK in mind, so everything you see is LHD-based, and contain UK-style road marking and parking stall styles.     The time has come. In the works for nearly a year and subject to a great deal of interest, my latest creation has finally seen the light of day on Simtropolis. They were previously released on SC4D's LEX, but I had decided to bring them over to the STEX as a little Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus surprise! These gas stations are my answer; my fulfillment of the need for up-to-date service center BATs. After searching through the community's various SimCity exchanges, I was surprised to see a location as prolific as the gas station had been severely neglected. Included in this package are seven gas station lots, found in various states of disrepair, akin to the real-life examples that inspired this project. Of the seven lots, six are standalone 3x2 lots. One additional set of pumps is included on a 3x1 lot; perfect for placing beside a large mall or big-box store. Each lot may be found in the power menu under orange gas pump icons. If you wish to create more lots, the props are easy accessible in lot editor under the "bipin_" or "bipinprops_" prefixes. Additionally, a .png for the lot icon is included, to better help organize your own stations. Thank you for looking.     KOSC presents: CAMden Heights Offices Introduction This is the eighth set of lots in my ITS Office Park series. CAMden Heights is a nice mid-rise, nondescript office tower that serves its purpose as the centerpiece in suburban office parks. Or an eyesore among an entire district of generic buildings... yeah, might as well be. Package Overview CAMden Heights Offices is a small collection of growables and a ploppable of Ill Tonkso’s Camden Heights Tower. There are two smaller lots are occupied by one tower each, both which boast relatively tame scenery. The centerpiece is the massive 10x10 complex featuring twin towers with an ample parking lot with garage, lush greenery, and a beautiful front plaza.     KOSC Presents: 280 Executive Square Introduction This is the sixth set of lots in my ITS Office Park series. 280 Executive is a return to my monotonous, massive campus-style of office complexes with one of my personal favorite of Ill Tonkso’s BATs: 280 Bishopgate. This time around I wanted to experiment with layout and FAR conformity and as such, the total complex takes up a huge amount of real estate. Package Overview 280 Executive Square is a massive 6 building hi-spec office complex for your middle class sims. The campus is dotted with trees and boasts many open spaces, including parks and ponds. On the open walkways you’ll find fountain plazas and shady benches for relaxation. The complex is also very bike friendly, with tons of bike racks scattered throughout. Included in the following package are a total of 12 lots, which included 8 growables and 4 ploppables. The actual complex is pieced together from four lots (labelled as Phase 1-4/Buildings A-F). There are 2 different growable commercial versions (CO$$ and CS$$) in order to satisfy the endless stream of service demand that large cities often experience. The ploppable version is only available in CO$$, and comes with custom menu icons. If for whatever reason you want to plop the service version, you can use Buggi's buildingPlop cheat and find the lots. Unlike my previous releases, this one is in its purest form, a relot of the original 1000 Lakeside. I found the original rather underwhelming in terms of both detail and size and decided to take that up to ten. Additionally, with the hype of Cities: Skylines in recent times, I decided to build this lot in 3 different environments to coincide with the 3 distinct biomes in Skylines (boreal, temperate, and tropical). Package Overview Lakeside Place (1000 Lakeside) is a massive, high-end office building that was built for satisfying never ending commerical demand. The complex boasts massive parking spaces as well as a large, tree-lined walkway facing the entrance of the building. Lakeside Place is perfect as the centerpiece for your business parks.     KOSC presents: Trafalgar Complexes Introduction This is the fourth set of lots in my ITS Office Park series. I was originally going to release this around 2 months ago, but the beast that was Skylines took me out of my SC4 mood . In a slight departure from previous releases of the series, this lot is multi-purposed for not only offices, but also residential and services. Originally there were supposed to be more lot variants, but due to the nature of the building and the age of it, I decided not to proceed forward. Therefore, this is in a sense, a TIOLI (take it or leave it) lot. Package Overview Trafalgar Complexes is a reinmagination of Ill Tonkso's original Trafalgar Hall BAT, which was a small, standalone midrise. There are two distinct variants, but all of them share the same layout. The office version is marked by the concrete pavement, while the hotel and condominium versions have dark asphalt pavement with brickwork in the main driveway. Included in the following package are a total of 3 growables versions (1 for CO, CS and R). There are no ploppable versions this time around. However, you can use the BuildingPlop cheat from Extra Cheats to plop them if you wish (all the lot exemplars are prefixed with KOSC ITS _buildingname_ ). Tonsko Corporate Park is the suburban counterpart to my previous urban release, the Ill Tonkso Plaza. Like it, this release consists of multiple buildings on one lot, to achieve a cohesive, monotonous design often found in very large office campuses. It just so happens that nearly every one of Ill Tonkso's old midrise fit this mold almost perfectly.     KOSC presents: ITS Office Parks - CIS Center Introduction Let's go bigger! CIS Center is a MEGAlot combining two individual Ill Tonkso releases: CIS Tower Manchester and CIS Tower 2 Manchester. Like their namesake, the two buildings have a similar design and theme which is why I thought they would look great as one massive plaza. Package Overview CIS Center is an urban centric office park/plaza with a major tower and two smaller towers. The focal point is the marble-paved plaza facing the main tower directly, with tree lined pathways as well as several fountains. Tucked away to the sides are narrower pathways shaded by massive deciduous trees as well as the looming offices above. Finally, lost in the back is a small service parking lot. Most workers choose instead to park in large garages across the street instead. This package contains a growable and a ploppable (it "grows" too!). Both lots share the same stats.
