Thank you for looking at one of my low-income neighbourhood stores; something you could expect to see in the rougher ends of town. Featured here is Fabland; a take on the often-decrepit Fabricland that dots the strip malls of my home town. Aside from the anchor store, a couple of small, generic, convenience stores pay the rent for this little mall. It is a growable 5x4 CS$ lot. The building is Dark-Nite compatible. The dependencies are as follows: - Girafe's Car Pack vol 3.: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2860 - Girafe's Urban Pack: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3192 - Girafe's Berries: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2888 - Girafe's Feather Grass: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3001 - SHK Parking pack: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/27563-shk-parking-pack/ - Mushy's Trailers: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/30773-hd-north-american-53ft-semi-trailers-vol1/ Thanks for taking a look at my introductory strip mall - I hope you enjoy the download! Verbatim from Bobbo's original 2006 readme: Welcome to Bradlees! Headquarters: Braintree, MA President: Peter Thorner Employees: 16,000 (Jan 1994) Founded: 1958 Closed: 2000 A little bit like Ames Department Store but with bigger stores located in bigger towns, and a very unique layout. They offered general merchandise with many discounts all year around. They had 130 stores before they filed for Chapter 11, and then came back with 102 stores in 1997 up to 105 stores in 2000. CEO Peter Thorner cleaned up the financial problems of the company and wanted to see Bradlees operating 150 stores. They did opened new stores including one in a former Caldor in Staten Island. Emerging from Chapter 11 in February of 1999, nobody cold have predicted the kind of end they announced on December 26th 2000. (Isn't that something, spend all your hard earn cash on christmas and then come back from the holidays and WHAMMO! - no job!) Bradless store layout was different from Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Wide open, entering the store you could see from one end of the store to the other, not that the store was small, but the ceiling was high, asiles not tall, it was simple, and easy to shop. First Bradlees opened their doors in 1958 in New London, CT. The name "Bradlees" was taken from Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, cT where the Company's earliest planning meetngs were held. The Stop & Shop Co. acquired the chain in 1961. The Company operated 105 stores in seven (7) Northereastern states: Main, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This BAT was originally created by Bobbo662 (aka B62). Unfortunately, due to real life circumstances, he was unable to finish the lot. He graciously handed his work over to me to finish and subsequently upload for yall. For comments/feedback/critique/praise visit my lot thread or drop me a pm. I'd be happy to help. Verbatim from Bobbo's original 2006 readme: Caldor Headquarters - Norwalk, Connecticut President - Warren D. Feldberg Employees - 22,000 Stores - 145 Founded - 1954 Closed - 1999 February of 1999, New England lost another major regional retail chain of store. Caldor, the company founded by Carl and Dorothy Bennett in 1951, turned to dust. This was the end of the sales pitch for the 4th largest retail chain in America. 22,000 workers took home pink slips for their trouble. 145 stores in nine states were put up for lease. Caldor got it's name from combining the first names of the Bennetts, Carl & Dorothy and opened one small store in Port Chester, New York. The Bennetts sold Caldor to Associated Dry Goods Corp., and in 1986, ADG merged with the May Department Stores Co. In 1991, Caldor went public and grew into a company with 2.5 billion in annual sales. Though in recent years, Caldor failed to distinguish itself from other regional discounters, like Ames Department Stores and could not compete with retail giants like Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target. _______________________________________ This is part of my series of bankrupted department chains that I have created for your Sims to relive which what we had experienced in North America. Ames, Zayre, Woolco, Bradlees, and now Caldor all have been swallowed up by the effects of Sam Walton's, Wal-Mart. This BAT was originally created by Bobbo662 (aka B62). Circuit City Stores, Inc. was an American multinational consumer electronics corporation. It was founded in 1949 and pioneered the electronics superstore format in the 1970s. Circuit City liquidated its final American retail store in 2009, following a bankruptcy filing and subsequent failure to find a buyer. At the time of liquidation, Circuit City was the second largest U.S. electronics retailer, after Best Buy. There were 567 Circuit City Superstores nationwide, ranging in size from 15,000 to 45,000 square feet. This beautiful BAT was originally created by Bobbo662 (aka B62). This lot has CS$ jobs, why? because sims living there hired some other sims to do the cleaning or to be the nanny for the little sims living there . The main reason is I think that if you plop some building it may give you some benefits to your cities. Feel free to modify or do a grow lot. IMPORTANT!! This is DarkNite version only, I can't make changes to the model because I lost the source file for this and other BATs. Feel free to comment and rate as you wish. Dude, let's hit the surf and snag some heavies! Serving the local dudes, honeys, and bunnies, as well as the usual groms, quimbies, shark biscuits, Barneys, Stus, kooks, hodads and namers, here are three growable surf shacks with a total of eight lots where you can hook up with the dawn patrol, add to your quiver, or ditch your stick with the dinged nose for a new tubular thruster. Or maybe you need some shorties, steamers, beaver tails, baggies, Pendletons, and leashes to totally impress while you hotdog it toes-on-the-nose and shoot the curl mondo "Walter style." Included in this pack are the following establishments... Kahuna Kip's Surf Shack Cowabunga Board Rentals Sam's Old School Surf 'n' Supply The first two are CS$ growth stage 1 to 2, while the third is CS$$ growth stage ranging from 1 to 3. All are growables which require Peg's MTP Theme Pack (a dependency common in a lot of my uploads), as well as the included .dat file of custom VW bus props. The majority are on 1x1 and 1x2 lots, with stats modded in accordance with prior releases. Thanks for downloading and enjoying these, as well as my other lots. Just don't be a bogus dork and drop in on my epic bomb, bro. You'll end up with an off-the-Richter sand facial or a Neptune cocktail, and then you'll be selling Buicks all over your gnarly new steamer, fer sure. Whoa, I think there's a Noah up ahead... 18. Restaurant Pack 01

    Version 1

    8,919 Downloads

This is a pack of small, mostly fictional restaurants, designed to compete with my "Goobers Nuts' released some time ago. This lot seems to grow a LOT, so I figured I'd make some more BATs to compete with it. Included are : Tacos Pizza Pizza Morning After Coffee Fuk Mi Sushi & Seafood. Fuk Mi was based off a picture of a real world restaurant of the same name. I thought the name was humorous, so used it for inspiration There are a total of 19 lots with these buildings, in various sizes. Most share the exact same stats. There is a Cs$ version of the Taco stand on two lots as well. 19. Lick A Chick Restaurant

    Version 1

I was sent a picture of this Real World restaurant a while back, and thought to myself, now I really MUST do that one! The real version is located in Nova Scotia, Canada. With a name like this, they really must have the best chicken around! In game this one seems to grow very easily, but then upgrades to something else rather quickly. I'd suggest marking one or two historical, then let the rest disappear. Version 1

Piggly Wiggly®, America's first true self-service grocery store, was founded in Memphis, Tennessee in 1916 by Clarence Saunders. In grocery stores of that time, shoppers presented their orders to clerks who gathered the goods from the store shelves. Saunders, a flamboyant and innovative man, noticed this method resulted in wasted time and man hours, so he came up with an unheard-of solution that would revolutionize the entire grocery industry: he developed a way for shoppers to serve themselves Despite predictions that this new kind of store would fail, the first Piggly Wiggly opened September 6, 1916 at 79 Jefferson Street in Memphis. Operating under the unusual name Piggly Wiggly, it was unlike any other grocery store of that time. Shopping baskets, open shelves, no clerks to shop for the customer -- unheard of! Piggly Wiggly Corporation, established by Saunders when he opened the first store in Memphis, secured the self-service format and issued franchises to hundreds of grocery retailers for the operation of Piggly Wiggly stores. CS$ Plop and Growables included. Haaland's Butcher Shop is situated in the pedestrian street Haraldsgaten in my hometown, Haugesund, Norway. It was originally built in 1889, but the old one burnt down, so this current one is just from 1998. It's a pretty close reconstruction of the old one, minus that it has one extra floor. It's got a good reputation in my town for selling very high quality meat, and Finn Haaland did always greet with you with a smile, alwaus service minded, and gave free pancakes for the kids(and those pancakes were gooooood!!!!!). That's is sadly over now, as he just recently passed away... Sorhauggaten 129 (Sørhauggaten 129) is a recreated building from the centre of my hometown Haugesund, it was built in 1907. As well as recreating it as it is. With White paint on the wooden walls, and black paint on the trims and frames, i also made four other colour variations Blue, green, red and yellow. The building sits on a 2x1 lot (1 tile wide, 2 tiles deep) and each time it grows, it gets a different model. Here's two extra images: All 5 models in a row The building compared to the real building. Yet another small building from my collection of BATs, tiny render error in it though, a small portion of it is a bit shuffled at the top, other than that, it works fine. Quite a colourful little thing isn't it? =P I was just looking for something different for the drab CS$ ones, though it still had to look grungy, so i made this, windows have a kinda weird design too, instead of going inwards, they stick outewards. It also got 3 family props for the clutter on the pavement, which means you get 3 different props each time you plop. Anyway, enjoy this little splash of randomness in your cities... And take a look at these pictures, why don't you... 1-Family Props in action. 2-Day pic 3-Night pic Growable Version: Lot size: 1x1 Growth stage: 8 Occupants: CS-$ : 74 Bulldoze cost: § 245 Worth: § 566 Construction Time: 24 days Max.
