  1. Hi there! I desided to create a new own type of building which will be involved in mass residental construction in Dzingalia. So, I've created one prototype for testing Check it out! Sorry for chaotic order. NB! Windows in this building aren't textured yet. Nitelite and lot are unfinished as well The question is: how fine is a roof, balconies and model in all? P.S. It's only 1 prototype of 70, their distinction is in color (white, gray, pink, orange, yellow, beige, green, cyan, blue and violet (house with this color is showed above) and in number of storeys (3 (this showed above), 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15.

Hello there folks. I really don't know am I allowed to do this, but admins and slow to answer and my "messenger man" hasn't said anything so I guess this OK. Thing is that since SimPeg unfortunately went offline, I'ven't had a support thread. And because I really suffer somekind of god syndrome being last good batter with gMax I'll rarely post stuff in here if and when I BAT. I've about 60-100 bats to be un- and re-released and most on those re-release stuff its that they were made like decade ago (I know right). I would like to just upload stuff what BSC people modded for me years ago, so I've been upgrading those bats what I made with them back in the day. Though if someone gets permission from RippleJet (I guess this was the name) I can release bunch of diagonal, but out-dated stuff in a sec. Anyhow, here are my latest bats in the works and coming up: Baxter Building iGroup Tower Wembley Station One Roxxon Plaza Autotalo, being under work since 2013 i believe.
  3. MGB BATs

I've been busy making a number of things using SC4BAT and recently moved to 3DS Max because I suppose I should learn it sooner or later if I'm serious about making stuff. I've already shown off the Rail Depot which is progressing well, but I've a few problems to iron out still. Here's another model I'm close to finalising, it's a small supermarket/shop that I used to frequent: It's an M&S Simply Foods these days, but the actual building was converted from a TGI Fridays restaurant. As such, I intend to convert the model to be a restaurant and also a shop. For the shop at least, I'm hoping to make a couple different brands and maybe move some of the features about so the model is more flexible. Note the phone box in the picture? I've always wanted to see a KX100 BT Phonebox in SC4. If you are not from the UK, you might think we use the Red phone boxes (K7) that are commonly associated with the UK. The reality is, since the mid 80's these have been massively phased out. Ironically I see more Red boxes around Continental Europe than I ever do back home. Here are some on a lot with other SC4 phone boxes for comparison. The red ones are Bombardiere's fantastic K7 boxes. Then the smaller gray/silver box is from Girafe, the white one is from Porkie. I've based my scale on the first, which I think fits the game, sadly all the wonderful detail of the phone box is totally lost when rendering such a small object, even in HD:
  4. I think it is time to have my own place to dabble in.... Anyone who is following me can bookmark this page for future projects show and tell. If you have been following my pipe project here are the latest pics showing what you can do with them. For anyone asking about an MML for the set, I made one, therefore if you wish to use it, you now have that option. Release date has been tentatively set for Oct 1. Gorge crossing with rail network below.... 1 2 3 4 5 Simmer2/Nick

I have very little experience with batting but I want to improve my batting skill and hopefully release some decent BATs in the near future. I cannot say right now how dedicated I'll be, but we shall see! I'm planning on modelling mostly low to medium density and low wealth buildings (C$ and R$) and possibly some medium wealth buildings later on. I'll try to model versatile buildings from major Latin American cities (but mostly from Lima and Santiago) so that they can fit in a 'general' or stereotypical latin american city. As you may know, many latin american cities share a lot of the same architecture but there are some differences nevertheless. I have two current projects for the moment: one 1x1 C$ W2W building and one 1x2 C$ W2W building. Both are based on real buildings located in Santiago, Chile (1x1 building and 1x2 building). The modelling is done(?) so now I have to apply the textures. I'm not aiming for exact replicas by the way. 1rst BAT: house and small restaurant 2nd BAT: Mini market/apartments, mini gas distribution center, apartments Now, I have some questions/doubts: 1 - I don't know how I should model or texture the restaurant so that it looks like the real one (link above) 2- I have no clue how the roofs should look like. Keep in mind that in many of these older Chilean buildings there is no AC system (in this case, since these buildings are in Santiago, they might have a gas heating system, but I'm not sure).

  7. The Towers of Steel Project

This entry will not be an update of any particular area of my region but rather It'll be about my BAT project. To follow future developments in the project place check out the ToS project BAT thread or the progress report update. I've always had an interest in skyscrapers from the time I was little. It's the reason why I was originally drawn to the city simulation genre in the first place. I'm sure many of you can say the same. However I differ from the norm in that I also have an interest in other tall non-highrise structures. Be it a skyscraper, observation tower or even a smoke smokestack, I appreciate tall structures all the same. The reasons for this is because of where I'm from. While we do have a pretty decent skyline here in TO, undoubtedly the single most impressive part of the skyline is our observation tower. For those not familiar with it, the CN Tower, with a height of 1,815ft / 553.33m, was the tallest freestanding structure in the world for over 30 years(from 1976 to 2007). CN tower under construction Only the Empire State Building has reigned over a height title(post industrial era) for a longer period of time. Needless to say it's something we're quite proud of, much in the same way as a skyscraper aficionado's from New York or Chicago(or elsewhere) are proud of their distinctive skyscrapers and record holders. I would not have been any more impressed with the structure if it were a buildings instead. If not for the fact it already came with the game, I certainly would of tried batting this landmark. Another thing that influenced my perception was the neighborhood where I grew up in. There was a very large plant nearby with a tall smokestack. That chimney was easily the most distinctive landmark in my community. It was a beacon that literally helped me find my way home a number of times. Once when I was little and got lost and then on a number of occasions later on when I was in a drunken stupor... The 'ol stack and nothing else So in contrasts to most people's opinions about those smokestacks, I was thankful for their existence. That in a nutshell is why I can look fondly at these structures. Smokestacks were indeed the first custom BAT's I made(and subsequently released on the exchange) more than 10 years ago. It also helped of course that they are relatively simple to make. I tried my hand at batting buildings & a tower or two soon after with a few decent results But there was one problem I could never solve no matter what fix I tried. I could never get the damn night lights to work. After much frustration I abandon creating building altogether. It was after this that I discover my niche. For there was another type of tall structure that I've always though was pretty cool looking as well. Add to that, I've also had an interest in steel frame structures, such as cantilever & steel arch bridges. For those who follow the CJ, I'm sure its readily apparent what type of structure I'm referring to. So what do you get when you combine the two? The lattice tower. These structures are know by a few other terms as; truss towers, freestanding framework towers or more simply radio/tv towers. My fascination with them has only increased after I started batting them, because its something I turned out to be pretty good at. And aside from several concrete observation towers and a small number of smokestacks, guyed and self supporting towers, there is surprisingly little of any other type of tall non-highrise structures on the ST exchange compared to the number of highrises out there. So its high time I took the proverbial cat out of the bag and revealed this secret little project of mine, which I've been working on(and off) for the last 3 years. Several of these towers have already been seen on the CJ; The BellCan & Russian tower have relatively simple superstructures And while the Mount Royal tower is more detailed, it's too short to really be a significant landmark. Serves as more of a 'filler' tower. But what's been shown so far is really just the tip of the iceberg. The entire scope of the project comprises more than two dozen lattice towers from all over the world and a few custom designs. Many of which are very prominent landmarks in their respective cites. Imo some of these are amongst the coolest looking/most interesting structures on Earth. So without further ado, ToS Project list A Royal Tower[Canada] (released - Mount Royal) BellCan[Canada] (released - Bell Canada) Cyberpunk Tower[Japan] (in progress) Fatal Attraction [uS] Horizontal Lines Tower[uS] (completed) King Kgon[uS] Russian Style[Russia] (released - Murmansk) Simple Truss[Canada] (completed) Supertall Spire[uS] (completed) The Angel[spain] (in progress) The Cone[Russia] The Cross[Europe] The Crystal[uK] (in progress) The Diamond[uS] (in progress) The Dalek[uK] The Endless White[uS] (finishing touches) The Eye[custom] (completed) The Hybrid[Europe] The Needle[uS] (completed) The Mini-white[brazil] The Octagon[Russia] (completed) The Pyramid of Steel[uS] (finishing touches) The Rocket[brazil] The Ski Tower[Europe] The Square[brazil] (in progress) The Star[uS] (finishing touches) The Trident[Asia] (in progress) The Ultimate Pylon[Asia] X Tower [custom] (completed) These are not the actual names of the towers, but rather project/code names. It's just easier for me to keep track of them this way. Most towers are known by their radio/tv station initials, with a few exceptions. On another note, I would of loved to transferred these into Cities Skylines. Heck I might have even persuaded to stop playing SC4 if possible. Unfortunately they're too detailed, some of them have more than 100,000 polygons/triangles and from what I understand, anything above 10k will some serious lag and/or crash issues in skylines. Most images are gmax screen pics. It's obviously not an angle you'd see in SC4, but the idea is just to relay the detail of each superstructure. There will be a few render preview pics of portions of the towers at the end. But I won't be showing actual in game shots until I get to them in the CJ. I mean, you can't expect me to completely reveal 3 years worth of work in just a one single entry can you? Birds eye views Many of these are still a work in progress, their current appearance may not necessarily represent actual in game textures. Schematic shots original teaser shots That tower was about 600ft/185m high, some of these are almost twice as tall. From the bottom up look up... wayyyy up. From the inside out And of course a sneak preview of what you want to see the most, SC4 gmax (partial)render shots In the shadows of giants Needless to say, nothing else I do in SC4, or with any game for that matter, will ever top this project(for me - in terms of effort and contribution to the community). So which of these towers would you like to see next? And think you can you identify any of them with their real world counterparts? If so, I'll consider releasing them before I get to them in the CJ provided they're completed of course.
  8. I am having an issue where BAT will not import any 3ds models that has PNG texture files. Most of the time, converting them to jpg works, but this can cause some problems in the model if the model that I downloaded has transparency in those textures. Sometimes the model does not read the loss of transparency and I am fine, but sometimes I get an ugly white into the model. This is all because BAT will not import 3ds models with PNG textures. If I try to import a model with PNG textures, nothing happens. Nothing is imported. No error message or anything, it just does not import. I was wondering if there is a fix for this? I Googled the problem but nothing about this came up. So there has to be a way to get it to read models with PNG textures.
  9. Tour of Africa: Introduction

So for my next series of updates, I have something a little special planned. Over the last couple months, I've been slowly accumulating a large collection of African scenes - and it's finally starting to come together. With nearly 40 different scenes (the pics below are just a small little teaser of what's to come - the tip of the iceberg ), it's going to be like nothing I've ever done before - an unforgettable tour of just about everything the continent has to offer. We'll start off the six-part series by taking a look at one of Africa's most iconic cities - Johannesburg. From there, we'll stay in Southern Africa, exploring a variety of natural scenes - including one of Africa's most famous wildlife sanctuaries, the Okavango Delta. Along with the world's second tallest waterfall - Tugela Falls. Animations are going to play a pivotal role in this series - it's going to be quite the sight From there, we'll head east - getting to visit East Africa and the beautiful Indian Ocean along the way. With a number of unique wonders like the Tsingy stone forests - visiting Madagascar is also must. It's off to Central Africa from there - where we'll get to explore wild Africa at its finest along with a number of natural wonders. Algae-rich lakes such as Lake Logipi attract countless lesser flamingos - and when they migrate, it makes for one of the greatest sights on the continent. We'll then head out to West Africa - visiting a number of small rural scenes, like the ones found in Rural Congo. And we'll wrap up in North Africa - after traveling through the Sahara, we'll get to see one of the continents greatest landmarks, the Pyramids. Additionally, as you might expect - there hasn't been a great deal of African themed custom content to work with. Because of this, custom content creation has been absolutely vital to this series. I've been creating various BATs from scratch on a massive scale to make some of these scenes possible: WIP: If anyone's interested in some of the stuff I'll be using over the next couple of updates, feel free to PM me. I don't know yet though how long it will take me to upload some of this stuff, there's still lots of various odds and ends that I need to sort out and I've been extremely busy with my CJ/MD as of late. Don't forget to comment, like, and follow True Earth if you haven't already! -korver --- Replies for "Bohemia" @Jeffrey500 Thanks! Bohemia is certainly one of my dream destinations Might be a while though before I find the time to upload this stuff so feel free to PM me if you're interested in anything. @mike_oxlong Thanks I've been slowly accumulating a whole bunch of pics really since the beginning of the year and I'm finally finding the time to put them all into proper updates. @dabadon5 Thank you for the comment! @Simmer2 @_Michael Thanks for the kind words! @JP Schriefer Thanks for the comment! @tariely Thanks! I had to do a lot of fiddling around in 3dsmax to make sure the models were just perfect, glad you liked it @raynev1 Thanks raynev! @Akallan Thank you! When I first saw that village I knew I wanted to do the update. It's so magical! @RandyE Thanks for the comment! I was thinking the same exact same thing when I was working on those. I actually got started on a Yosemite update a real long time ago (late May of last year I think? Never made much progress on it though.) and whipped up a really fancy national park themed banner like the ones you mentioned. Perhaps I'll have to give a couple US national parks another go in the future @TekindusT Thank you! @jmsepe Thanks for the nice words! @kschmidt Thanks for the comment! Those houses were actually just released on the LEX, check them out here @Namiko Thank you, glad you liked the animation I've been trying to work more of those in to my updates here recently. And big thanks to @Toby Ferrian, @Fantozzi, @Jeffrey500, @mike_oxlong, @Tyberius06, @Simmer2, @matias93, @bobolee, @kingofsimcity, @bladeberkman, @RobertLM78, @CorinaMarie, @_Michael, @RandyE, @JP Schriefer, @SC4L0ver, @Marushine, @huzman, @Manuel-ito, @raynev1, @Akallan, @nos.17, @MushyMushy, @mrsmartman, @AlexSLM520, @Silur, @kschmidt, @juliok92012, @Elenphor, @Yarahi, & @Namiko for all the likes!
  10. i make A LOT of buildings in SimCity 4 with BAT, and i've been having this problem for quite a while. the buildings are getting 'mixed up' with each other. and it's getting annoying here's a video of an example of whats going on: does anyone know how to fix this? please help! ♥
  11. Bohemia

Located in the western Czech Republic, Bohemia is a region full of picturesque landscapes and charming villages. Few are as delightful as Hrensko - and its where we'll begin our tour. Founded back in the 15th century as a trading settlement on the Kamience gorge, its turned into one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Hrensko also serves as the entrance gate to Bohemian Switzerland National Park - but be sure to take in the village for a day or two before sailing down the Kamience gorge. The Kamience gorge cuts through the heart of the park, and riding a slow sailing boat down the river is one of the most popular tourist attractions. The steep cliffs are quite incredible, but remain quiet until our tour guide finds a rope attached to the other side and gives it a huge pull... The Umelý vodopád (artificial waterfall) comes gushing out of a small crack at the top of the rock cliff - creating quite the splash and the perfect photo opportunity. We emerge out of the gorge and start making our way through the heart of the park. After a few hours, we finally reach one of the most stunning tourist attractions in the area - the striking Pravcická brána, the largest natural sandstone arch in Central Europe. In 1826, an inn was built here and has remained a popular spot ever since - after a hard day of hiking, there's nothing better than a good meal here. Be sure to take advantage of the many paths that wrap their way around the arch to get a great view of the landscape - but remember that the top of the arch has been out of bounds since the 1980s due to heavy erosion from tourists. Our last destination in Bohemia is the impressive Pravcický kužel (Pravcický Cone) - one of the most imposing structures in the entire park. For the thrill seeker out there, its the premier destination in the entire park - but only the bravest of climbers would dare to take on these sheer cliffs in the dead of winter... During summer however, when things are a bit more manageable - rock climbers from all across Central Europe will take on the cone. For those who can scale up these challenging cliffs - hundreds of feet high with little to no room for error - they will be rewarded with some absolutely incredible views from the top. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Bohemia - its truly a timeless beauty. NOTE: In order to make this update, I really had to put my BATing skills to the test. I modeled and textured these BATs completely from scratch (1, 2, 3 - pictures taken from the Lot Editor window) specifically for the update - if anyone would like to try the models out for themselves then please PM me Don't forget to comment, like, and follow True Earth if you haven't already! -korver --- Replies for "Natural Wonders" @IL. Thank you for the comment! @BC Canuck Thank you I actually hadn't heard of the Danakil Depression either until recently - but once I first saw the mesmerizing colors I knew I had to give it a go. @tariely Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, I'm planning on releasing a bunch of stuff here at some point. I'm going to be insanely busy with my CJ for a bit as I get out a lot of older updates though, so probably once things settle down. But in the meantime, if there's anything you're after in particular, feel free to send me a PM and I'll see what I can do @mattb325 Thank you for the nice words! @elavery I just checked it out - quite stunning. The cliffs and lack of proper BATs though would be a concern, but I'll think about it in the future Thanks for the suggestion. @Mymyjp Thank you, glad you liked it! @gaiskerein Thank you for the comment and kind words! @TekindusT Yep, 100% certified photoshop free Thanks for the comment And finally, big thanks to @Manuel-ito, @RandyE, @matias93, @AlexSLM520, @bladeberkman, @Brooklyn81, @CorinaMarie, @tariely, @Odainsaker, @huzman, @mattb325, @scotttbarry, @nos.17, @_Michael, @Marushine, @Tonraq, @Jolteon, @Tyberius06, @jakis, @Fantozzi, @raynev1, @Elenphor, @Andrey km, @Yarahi, @bobolee, @SC4L0ver, @juliok92012, @Silur, @mayor11, @mrsmartman, & @Jonas_Chaves for all the likes!

  14. Welcome to the development thread for CT14 lots and BAT. Here's a quick list of current releases so you don't have to scroll through the thread to find them all: North American Freight Sidings Llama Terminal Company SABER LA River Troy Gasholder Building FAB Diagonal Industrials Lowrider Props In-N-Out Lowrider Show Old Time Power Plants - jestarr Boilerhouses --- North American Freight Sidings original first post: Inspired by the lack of existing lots representing protypical North American freight railroad sidings, I've created a system of lots that can be used to create eye-candy rail sidings. They are transit-enabled for appearance. I have been encouraged to share my progress in a dedicated thread by helpful feedback in the Show Us Your Railroads general thread, especially from SimCoug, T-Wrecks, raynev1. And the whole thing wouldn't exist without the Jestarr props. Features: 18 ploppable lots for different railcar types on double track rail Transit enabled connections to make the lots fit in seamlessly anywhere Three prop families to provide a variety from Jestarr's boxcars, intermodal and general merchandise freight ("Junkers") RRW compatibility Known issues: Transparent texture bug as described here http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/42425-transparent-texture-issue/ The lots need custom icons created and added, through Reader as described here: http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Tutorial:Inserting_a_custom_menu_icon_with_the_Ilive_Reader Future development ideas: Single Track Rail lots don't match exactly when using textures extracted from the RAM .dat, and I probably need permission to use them separately in any case. So, STR sidings may be a separate release at some point. Four-track lots would be prototypical for large yard trackage, but don't exist in RRW. Custom textures might allow some eye-candy four-track lots in future, this would resemble an updated subset of NCD. Dependencies: BSCMegaProps JES Vol01 (v1.0) - http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=342 For RRW, you need the NAM with RRW enabled. Download: Please report bugs here. Thanks!
  15. Well there's no reason in fact I don't start a thread on Simtropolis as well now that I have a valid account I have created buildings with Gmax for nearly a year now, still I have only four releases yet, all available on our old french home Toutsimcities. I have, yet, many projects hidden in my folders but that may be long to come out mainly because of my extreme laziness. I would'nt re-post here the various previews, but everything can be seen on my thread on SC4Devotion and on TSC as well. For some weeks I have been collaborating with my dear talented colleague Sciurus on a railway pack including many stations and other devices. We're sleeping on it for the moment but we will be back on that in the future as well I just have small things to show today, the various props I've been working on to be packed in a single prop-pack which will be a dependency among others for some of my forthcomming projects. Including an early-20th-century-suburban-houses-pack of (planned) 5 models and a modular cemetery as well. So this is nearly finished ! So the others projects will boost up I still plan to make two other fence props, and one small, typically french outdoor restaurant usually found on wharfs, plazas or parks, called a "Guinguette" (or a "Pied-Humide" in my town). I'm indeed quite happy with the small hearse, my first attempt in vehicle creation. I'd like to make a horse-driven hearse but I'm afraid with the horse, I suspect myself to be ineffectual and to make a hideous freaking out freak instead.
  16. Hello dear fellow of Simtropolis, I've experienced some small but exhausting issues in Gmax BAT recently I never saw such things and it seems to curiously increase, and before attempting re-install, I'd like to have some advice. It started with the right-click on objects (which allows to unroll a red list with some options) being completely ignored and never appearing in a small scene. I've tried to export the objects in new scene but it appears to be the same in every new scene... And in the old ones as well °-° So I could'nt make a single mesh with the various boxes aimed to be the LODs. I did that several times before and it always worked. But, you may say, it's possible to turn splines into meshes with the modifier list on the right as well. That's what I tried then, it worked, but then ALL the objects I wanted to make a single mesh with (to be the new LODs, still...) won't appear in the attach list °-° And OF COURSE, it's the same everywhere... Please help !!
  17. BATs by Bipin

This will be the home for all BATs by Bipin, as I'm sure you figured by the title. These won't just be any BATs though, these will be ones centered around a cohesive theme. In other words, I'll be making the BATs that you've always wanted, but never gotten; the essential BATs no one has ever got around to making. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'll start off with something that is essential to any city; suburbs. While we have older suburban houses from the 50's up to the 80's, its difficult to find modern houses. So with that, I present to you... I've made all this in 8 hours today, I worked hard! On top of that, this is my first time making anything in 3dsMax, so I hope you like what I've done so far. As a side project, I'm also in the process of creating retaining walls and ramps for FARHW-MIS: Now, none of these are rendered, but there is a reason to that. Whenever I try and download and subsequently run BAT4MAX, the .mzp unzips itself, instead of opening an install prompt, so if anyone has suggestions as to what I can do, let me know. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7. I hope you enjoy my seeing my progress so far, comments, questions and any other concerns are always appreciated!
  18. We all know BATters usually scale their models by 133%, but to be honest I never knew how exactly this number was reached and I'd like to know. Today I was reading about how types of projections work and I noticed SC4 isn't really isometric, but trimetric just by 1 degree. I think it's acceptable to consider it as dimetric since it makes calculations way easier and it's an insignificant error. Actually I believe it's more likely that I got it wrong due to the prospector error or any other thing and it's indeed dimetric. So this is a cube made with 3ds without vertical scaling. As you can see the height must also be equal to 433px. It means we need to scale it by (433/317)*100 = 136,6%. It makes sense to me, but does it to you as well? It's always good to ask, sometimes other people notice something wrong we are not seeing
  19. this is what's going on, i downloaded this building from 3D warehouse, and i opened it up in sketchup2016, then i exported it as a 3Ds, then i tried importing it into BAT, BUT when it render it in BAT, it doesn't have a texture on it, it's just the shape of the building colored white. How do i get the texture of it to show up? please help, if you need more information just ask. please help here's a visual of whats going on:
  20. So a few years ago I had a go at bating. Unfortunately due to computer issues I never got around to finishing any of them, and long since lost the files. A bit of a shame really; I was nearly done modeling these two sets of buildings, all they really needed were nightlites and some desaturating of the textures. Oh well. Last weekend, for some odd reason, I decided to reinstall SimCity 4 and play it. But, after downloading a ton of new content, I found I still couldn't make the cities I wanted (mostly modern urban Dutch). The first thing that bothered me was the lack of varied in utilities, specifically pumping stations. So I looked up some modern pumping stations here in the Netherlands, and, the idiot that I am, downloaded gmax to see if I could make something of it: The first one I had a go at was a largish sewage pumping station: Unfortunately this is the material it is made out of, and I am not quite sure how to texture this. I have half a mind of simply modelling the panels instead of texturing it. In the mean time I decided to model another pumping station, a small drainage pump this time: It has the same issue with texturing, so oh well. While looking through pumping stations here in the Netherlands, I came across this little thingy and decided it also really needed modelling (for a change it is an actual ground water pumping station!): It is actually coming along quite nicely. I just need to finish the doors, add the rain gutter and some roof junk. I possibly need to figure out how to model a few pumps to fill the large frontal roof if the windows are going to be transparant (ugh...) At the same time I was really annoyed by the power utilities in the game. So yeah... I came across this funky little substation, and since it takes no effort to model had a go at it: Not sure if there is interest in this sort of thing though. I also created this substation (could also work as an industrial lot). I want to make it a wall to wall lot, but, as the roof is overhanging to the sides, I don't know how to go about it. And, if I ever feel confident enough to do so, I'd love to have a go at this power plant. The turbine halls are simple enough, but the chimney seems daunting. Anyway; thoughts and suggestions? Compliments or hate is also welcome. Oh, and IrfanView apparently does not like transparency. I hope you can ignore the black outlines on the images, they are not supposed to be there.
  21. There's a very impressive BAT of Lomonossov University on SC4Devotion and I would like to download it, but it replaces the ingame University building. Could someone refer me to a guide on how to possibly edit it so that it exists as a separate building instead? It doesn't have to still be a rewards building but I'd like for it to retain its functionality; if it's the same as the ingame University campus which is much smaller, I might want to increase the stats appropriately. 22. I get asked all the time about what mods I use and where to get them. I have compiled a list of useful links and I wanted to share them here! 23. It used to be on SC4 Devotion but it's since been locked, and you can't just type in =DOWNLOAD in the URL to bypass it anymore. There was a German site, SimCityPlaza, that also hosted the download but it now redirects to a 404 page (http://www.simcityplaza.de/index.php/simcitykurierdetails.php?file=999). I suppose the only way to obtain it now is if someone uploaded a copy of the files. If anyone has it, could you share it please? Thanks.
  24. After a long hiatus from SimCity and modelling, I recently picked up BATing again and started finishing a couple of models I began working on many, many years ago. Among them: The Staatsbibliothek Unter den Linden in Berlin (pre-war) The Geschossbau by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in Stuttgart A couple of modern residential W2W, more or less inspired by some developement in Berlin And last but not least Sophienholm, a lovely country house in Lyngby near Copenhagen, but this one is still in the works.
  25. bapqapmoc's BATs

Hello! I have been working on a model of the One New York Plaza on Sketchup. This is my first 3d model and it's been fun doing it. I was surprised by how easy it was to learn the basic functions on Sketchup. Except for the first floor surrounding area, in which I made some changes, the rest of it is pretty close to the real building. Here are some pictures: I never used 3DS before, so, for me, applying textures with Sketchup would be easier. I exported the model to 3DS 2015, with BAT4Max v.5 installed, but haven't been able to use the Preview tool. It just crashes midway the rendering and a "Unknown system exception" box appears. The images above are from the regular 3DS rendering. Being new to all this, I'm open to advice. Hope you guys like what I've done so far.
