This is a set of 40 flags rendered in HD. 38 of the flags are of automobile manufacturers and the other 2 are large flags of the United States of America and of Canada, typical of the flags flown at auto dealerships throughout North America. They are intended to be used as props, perfect for auto dealers, corporate headquarters, or racetracks. A 10x1 ploppable lot (as pictured) is also included, which can be found in the Parks menu. This pack will be a dependency for some of my future uploads. Flags included in this pack are: National Flags: Canada (large), United States of America (large) Corporate/Brands: Acura, Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, BMW (M Division), BYD, Cadillac, Chery, Chevrolet, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GM, Geely, Genesis, Honda (Blue), Honda (Red), Hongqi, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Mitsubishi, Mini, Lincoln, Nissan, Nissan (Nismo), Porsche, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volvo, Xiaomi, Yangwang There are no dependencies for the ploppable lot other than the flags already included in this pack.- 1 Review

Time for another map! This time it's Orlando, Florida, USA. Now you too can build Walt Disney World in SimCity 4! The map is 20 x 20 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. It includes the cities of Orlando, Winter Garden, Sanford, Kissimmee, Lake Apopka and all of the Walt Disney World Resort area. In order to install the map you will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer as the file is in SC4M format. I hope you can put this map to good use, enjoy! -TCC View My Full Map Catalogue Here:- 1 Comment

I was tired of seeing maps that were not fun to play on because they had very little buildable area and also were an unrealistic place for people to settle. Most maps being too big (100s or 1000s of tile) or too small (3-4 large tiles), this map is 10 tall by 9 wide with 95 large tiles and about 20 medium ones - it will look full after about 6-11 cities although you could contextualize an urban core with a small handful of cities like 3-4; the tiles are staggered allowing for commercial (office) centers for those that want to do a large international airport challenge. The file size is respectable is 41.6 mb compressed or 80 mb unzipped - so player won't be complaining if you play multiplayer via your private sc4mp server (feel free to invite me) or file swapping. A retro version of this region is already on 2 sc4mp multiplayer servers with different owners that aren't me. This is the biggest version with the most buildable area, I also fixed some of the hills and contextualized the coast a bit by expanding it. This map is a river valley map, of a hypothetical fictitious small state. Some people will prefer to densify the hills and some flatten, others will add touches or leave the way it is. Download the zip and extract to your regions folder. -

This is Anchorage. The map is turned so we are looking SE rather than north. In the pics, I have ReShade on and the terrain is default. This one would be nice with a snow mod. The map is sized at 32x32 large city tiles. To install, simply unzip to: C:\USER\Documents\SimCity 4\Regions - and load the game. The separate download is the .SC4M file and the 16 bit greyscale .png that SC4 Terraformer created and the initial grayscale I had to work from. These are best used with SC4 Mapper and SC4 Terraformer. Please Enjoy!! -

Back with another map! This time it's Chicago, Illinois (for SimCity 4). The map includes cities and areas such as: Chicago, IL Naperville, IL Waukegan, IL Kenosha, WI Gary, IN The map is 24 x 32 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. Some elevations in the map were compressed in order to maintain waterways in game. In order to install the map you will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer as the file is in SC4M format. Description I made this while learning how to create SC4 regions using high resolution heightmap data from real world locations. This is most of the Grand Canyon, USA. I think it came out pretty good, and decided to share it. I did a little extra tweaking to make sure the river runs all the way through the canyon. It's not 100% accurate, but close enough. And making sure the region has enough buildable surface in every city square. There's 20 Big, 16 Medium, and 8 Small city squares. For a total of 44. I made sure there is varying levels of landscape to build on. With some being relatively flat and easy, and others not so much. Installation The file is in SC4M format. So you will need SC4 Mapper to install. Enjoy! -
Hi, a quick introduction. I'm Brad from WOB- World of Banished. been posting map blogs there for the last 7 years. the Banished sites have slowed down a lot in the last couple years. sadly , i think the lady who got me into blogging there has past away. she has not been heard from in too long. I figured it was time to break out the old SC4 game. i spent the last few months going thru my SC files and reloading dependencies as well as adding more mods. have played SC4 off and on but never completely filled an entire map. i still consider myself a greenhorn or new player compared to the work of many others here at Simtropolis. due to the limitations of my computer, i don't plan to use NAM or CAM. i know there is lots to learn, and more mods to download, but i am anxious to get this map started. there may be some similarities from these maps to reality. with the scale difference and the water table limitations of SimCity, they won't be replications. this is the PA map. like the true Pennsylvania, it does have hills and several rivers. a river borders it to the east. along that river to the south, a port area is planned. i did add an island to the southwest. the map was made with VIP Alpine terrain and the Cascadia tree controller and blendapenna water. the next step that I have planned is to run some railroads and highways thru the entire region. mainly just to connect some of the tiles and to the world. then i can reset the clock and $$ value and start building.

Hyder, Alaska and Stewart, British Columbia are separated by the Hyder–Stewart Border Crossing. This 4x6 large tile region is to scale at 403 km². Half of this region is still in BC so I guess I'll still count it as the seventh region in my British Columbia series. Hyder is Alaska's easternmost town and describes themselves as the Friendliest Ghost Town in Alaska! Despite being landlocked and only being accessible by road from Stewart, it's a popular tourist destination for those wishing to visit Alaska without driving the length of the Alaska Highway. It's geographically American but runs on almost everything Canadian. Two versions are available to download: The SC4M file requires SC4 Mapper to set up. The png/config file for if you have a Mac or have preference for the ingame region import function. This version of the region requires downloading High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters and using "Mallow's Original 2500m.dat" file. Installation instructions are listed below. Note: The png/config will render somewhat different than the SC4M version. The first region screen preview shown here is the sc4m version with the Appalachian Terrain Mod, the second preview is the same with Cascadia Tree Controller applied, and the last preview is the png/config version with no mods. Region Installation Instructions for the png config version 1. Navigate to your SimCity "Regions" folder on your computer. 2. Create a new folder for the region in this folder and move the grayscale map png file and config file from this download into the folder. IMPORTANT: Follow the next few instructions so your region doesn't render underwater 3. Download High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16790-high-elevation-import-mods-w-erosion-control-parameters/ 4. Take only "Mallow's Original 2500m.dat" from the download and place it in your "Plugins" folders. 5. If you have any terrain mods such as the Columbus Terrain Mod, Middle European Climate Mod, or Appalachian Terrain Mod, etc. or related files you will probably have to temporarily remove them from the "Plugins" folder for the region to install correctly. 6. Launch SimCity 4 and load the new region folder you made. The region is flat but the tile layout is visible. 7. Hold the Ctrl+Shift+Alt+R buttons together which will display a file navigator in the upper left. 8. Navigate to the png file and select it. The game will show a screen as if it's loading a city tile. 9. Be patient and wait for the game to render the entire new region one tile at a time. Don not interrupt or switch away from this until it is completed and the game returns to region view. 10. Your region is done and ready to play! 11. After exiting the game, remember to remove "Mallow's Original 2500m.dat" and replace any Terrain mods in your "Plugins" you may have temporarily removed. Photo by flickr user Philip Morton. History: Forrest Sherman was laid down by the Bath Iron Works Corporation at Bath, Maine, on 27 October 1953, launched on 5 February 1955 by Mrs. Forrest P. Sherman, widow of Admiral Sherman and commissioned on 9 November 1955, Commander R. S. Crenshaw in command. After a year of initial training and fitting out, Forrest Sherman arrived at her home port, Newport, R.I., 15 January 1957. Two days later she sailed for Washington, D.C., where she was open for public visiting during the week of the second inauguration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. From Newport, Forrest Sherman sailed on training and fleet exercises along the east coast and in the Caribbean, until the summer of 1957, when she took part in the midshipman cruise to South America and the International Naval Review in Hampton Roads on 12 June. Specs: The file contains an 11x2 lot. You can plop in the water or on the ground (You can also use MMP under or around the model). Night: Maxisnite & Darknite (Choose only one) You can find the building in the Lot Editor as: AGC_Destroyers_USS_Forrest-Sherman_DD-931_1958_V01_90 Ubication: Water transportation. Another DEM-based region, this time the Bozeman, MT area. I agonized over whether to include rivers, and decided against it because of issues with riverbanks becoming like canyons even in open terrain. One of SimCity 4's weaknesses in my opinion. At any rate: this is a smallish region, 2x3 large tile size, but cut into a slightly different configuration of 5 large tiles and 4 medium tiles. Most are usable. The mountains are the challenge here and building a transportation network that successfully links up the useful terrain. Happy Simming!- 2 Comments

Welcome Back to my City Journal, "Touring the World"! All Cities shown are inspired by reality, but may have subtle differences with their real-life counterparts. These differences may be due to game constraints... or... just because. For this entry, we'll be returning to the US West Coast! Starting from the north, we return to the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area! Downtown Portland is known for its 200 ft by 200 ft blocks - originally designed to maximize corner units and thus developer profit - today, an unintended side effect has been that the blocks are short, walk-able and pedestrian friendly. This photo shows the area around Broadway and Main Street, including two very interesting buildings, 1000 Broadway (the building with the white dome) and the Portland Building (top right corner), which houses the City of Portland's various bureaucracies guarded by the statue "Portlandia" who stares down at every citizen of Portland who dares enter the building to file a Planning Department permit for their backyard fence remodel or whatever else they need local government for. Another shot of downtown Portland, this one along Burnside Avenue. Included in this photo is the City's (and the State of Oregon's) second tallest building, the US Bancorp Tower, also known locally as "Big Pink". It stands at 43 stories tall. On the 30th floor is one of those fancy restaurants with great views but overpriced food and drinks. Also in the photo is the MAX Light Rail, which serves not only the city of Portland but also surrounding suburbs and the Portland Airport. At the bottom left is the Chinatown Gate, located on 4th Avenue, it provides a cultural icon and entryway into Portland's Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood. In August and September of 2020, vast forest fires raged throughout the western United States. The Portland area wasn't spared. Due to the fires, air quality in the Portland area plummeted to over 450+ AQI (air quality index). At that time, the air quality in Portland was the worst recorded globally. The photo below shows the St. John's Bridge, a suspension bridge located approximately 5 miles north of downtown Portland and crossing the Willamette River shrouded in a thick orange haze. This photo was taken September 15, 2020. Just 10 to 15 miles west of Downtown Portland is Washington County a mix of suburban housing tracts and rural farmland. One of the striking things about the Portland area is how fast you can go from an urban center with skyscrapers to vast open farmland. Much of this farmland is protected by Oregon's strict land use regulations and the Portland area's "Urban Growth Boundary". The photo below shows the rural and privately-owned Twin Oaks Airport in Hillsboro, Oregon, approximately 12 miles south-west of downtown Portland. Eugene, Oregon is located 105 miles south of Portland along Interstate 5. It is the second largest city in Oregon with a population of about 150,000. It is also home to the University of Oregon and the 2020 Pac-12 (football) Champion Ducks. The Ducks play their home games at Autzen Stadium, pictured below, which is located just north of the University of Oregon's main campus area. Travelling further south on Interstate 5, you will find yourself in California and its capitol city, Sacramento. While we won't visit Sacramento itself during this entry (we will in a future entry), lets swing by really quickly to Roseville, California, which is a suburban bedroom community located directly east of Sacramento in Placer County. Roseville's development is typical of inland California, featuring endless tract homes and neighborhoods, churches, parks/open spaces and big box retail. Many people moved into this area in recent decades to escape higher housing prices in cities along coastal California. There is no lack of land in the Roseville area and this housing is much more affordable when compared to the Bay Area or Los Angeles area. A typical home in the neighborhood below sized between 2000 and 4000 square feet could range from $300,000 to $600,000, a steal considering a similar home would easily be over $2,000,000 in the Bay Area. To the west, Oakland, California. Oakland is one of three major cities surrounding San Francisco Bay. It's population is approximately 480,000. It is also home to the second largest container and shipping port in the western United States. Each day thousands of containers are loaded and unloaded. Many consumer products manufactured in Asia and elsewhere and destined for customers in the United States pass through here. From the Port of Oakland, these products are either loaded onto semi-trucks for delivery within the Bay Area region or within California, or, loaded onto freight trains where they head east. In recent decades, downtown Oakland has seen a bit of a revival. Due to the lack of build-able land in the Bay Area, housing prices are exorbitant and always in short supply. Oakland has always been seen as a more affordable alternative when compared to San Francisco while still providing some of the same urban amenities and lifestyle. Taking advantage of this, developers have built "luxury" condos and apartments throughout Downtown Oakland in recent years. Of course, a 800 square foot one bedroom unit on a lower floor will still set you back $850,000+ if purchasing, or at least $3,500 a month in rent. Oakland is home to Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics (A's). The A's play at Oakland Coliseum, an outdated facility surrounded by a huge parking lot. There are ongoing discussions about building a new ballpark for the A's at a waterfront location closer to downtown Oakland. The Coliseum was formerly home to the NFL's Oakland Raiders before they relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. The Coliseum is also located next to the arena formerly known as Oracle Arena. Oracle Arena was home to the NBA's Golden State Warriors prior to their move to new facilities in San Francisco. The Warriors won several NBA championships in this building. Both the Coliseum and the Arena area are served by the Coliseum BART station (BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit) and pictured top right. From here, commuters can catch BART trains to San Francisco, San Jose, the Oakland Airport, Berkeley or other suburban destinations throughout the Bay Area. The freeway pictured at the bottom is Interstate 880 which connects Oakland and San Jose to the south. Rush hour traffic on this freeway is an absolute nightmare due to the amount of commuters and truck traffic coming to/from the Port of Oakland. West of Oakland and across the Bay Bridge is San Francisco, California. One of America's most recognized cities, San Francisco is home to Golden Gate Park, pictured below. Contrary to the name, the park is not located directly adjacent to the Golden Gate Bridge, but rather, a few miles south. Similar to Central Park in New York, it provides respite from the urban hustle and bustle. It is also home to the De Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences (which features an aquarium, a bio-dome and one of the largest green roofs in the country), and the Golden Gate Park Japanese Gardens which are pictured below. Next, we return to Los Angeles. In the hills above downtown LA and adjacent to Elysian Park is Dodger Stadium, home to the 2020 MLB Champion LA Dodgers! Although the ballpark is similar in age to the Oakland Coliseum previously seen, Dodger Stadium retains much of its "retro-charm" and has preserved outfield views of the surrounding hillsides. Finally, we visit Downtown Los Angeles, home to the tallest building on the US West Coast (by spire), Wilshire Grand, on a rare rainy day in LA. Thanks for visiting! Functional Cul-de-sacs, MAXIS Sidewalks VOL1, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Ever since SimCity 4 was released, suburban cul-de-sacs have been problematic. The base game just terminated streets with a little yellow and black barrier, until quirlix made the cul de sac textures that formed the basis of the way the NAM terminates dead end streets. There are other mods, like the larger cul-de-sac mod, by Marsh, but this also overrides the street roundabout textures and all such mods are typically both an over-ride and a blunt instrument that has an "all or nothing" type set up. Don't get me wrong, each of these mods is fantastic and I use them, and love them. But one thing the mods cannot do is unify the street trees along the length of the cul-de-sac, nor can they get the arrangement of houses to align around the cul-de-sac end. That is where this download is useful. --------------------------------------- WHAT THIS DOWNLOAD DOES: This download provides functional cul-de-sacs and is for users who have the MAXIS sidewalks (ie those who do not use a sidewalk over-ride mod). A set of near-identical lots for those who use side-walk over-ride mods is available separately. This download provides ten new growable lots of a 5x8 size. Each of the lots is network enabled to connect seamlessly to the surrounding streets and roads. Each lot is restricted to grow ONLY on low-density zoning and will not grow on medium or high density zones. Each lot has a different arrangement of medium wealth houses and a uniformity of street trees. The streets are named after the tree which grows on them. Each lot is restricted to one (or more) of the four tilesets giving you control over what grows where. Apart from the tileset, all of the lots have identical stats meaning that the game will not favour one type over the other. The population numbers of the lots conform roughly to Maxis' low-density formulae of approximately 12-20 residents per house. These lots cannot accidentally grow; you must use the CTRL key while zoning. The lots and tilesets are grouped into styles: Gascooker's UK suburban series; CP's 19th Century American suburban series and my predominantly 20th Century suburban houses with attached garages. --------------------------------------- HOW TO USE THIS DOWNLOAD: There is nothing especially tricky to get this to work. Just make sure you have the dependencies, unzip and install to your plugins and then use the CTRL key while zoning low density residential to get a lot that is 5 tiles wide and 8 tiles deep. Then, depending on what tileset you have selected, the lots will start to appear and will all be connected to the broader network. --------------------------------------- WHAT THIS DOWNLOAD DOES NOT DO: This is not a mod, so it will not alter the standard street ends that either come with the base game, are installed with the NAM or are installed with any other cul-de-sac mod. This will not interfere with, nor conform to, SAM street types. The standard light grey street texture is what each of these lots will grow with. --------------------------------------- IMPORTANT NOTES - READ!!!!!: With anything new, it is important to spell out a few caveats: * Because these lots are network enabled, these lots will never upgrade. I recommend using them in conjunction with standard zoning to achieve vibrant, realistic suburbs that are sustainable and the standard lot sizes can upgrade as your city grows. * Because these lots are network enabled, if they abandon, they will not recover: you will need to first correct the issues that caused abandonment (crime, jobs, commute, demand),then bulldoze the lot and let a new one grow. * I have chosen the 5x8 lot size deliberately to be a unique lot size that doesn't compete with other custom lots, but if you have other 5x8 low-density medium wealth residential lots in your plugins, they may grow instead of these. * I have chosen the 5x8 lot size deliberately to ensure that the network enabling doesn't interfere with the NAM drag patterns for creating curves, fractional angles and so on. My testing so far has indicated that this is unlikely to happen, however, in certain situations and placements you may find that the game attempts to draw FAR or curved streets. In the highly unlikely event event that it occurs, it's not a big deal, just bulldoze the surrounding streets to alter the pattern. Each of the folders is descriptively labelled. If, say, you only want UK style houses, then delete the other two folders, and so forth... --------------------------------------- Like all of my work, these are suited to both CAM and non CAM cities alike. History: Lincoln Monument (Philadelphia) is a monument honoring Abraham Lincoln in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. One of the first initiated in memory of the assassinated president, the monument was designed by neoclassical sculptor Randolph Rogers and completed in 1871. It is now located northeast of the intersection of Kelly Drive and Sedgley Drive, opposite Boathouse Row. Specs: The file contains an 2x2 lot. Plop it on flat ground (You can also use MMP around the model). Night: Maxis Night & Darknite (Choose only one) Maxisnite: Darknite: You can find the building in the Lot Editor as: AGC_Statue-Mo_USA_Abraham-Lincoln-Philadelphia_V01_S1_90 (Building) Scale of the model: 133% on all axes. Ubication: Parks Icon: Installation: Unzip the "Barroco Hispano DLCs" in your Plugins Folder (I highly recommend respecting my folder system because I plan to export or update thousands of BATs). Dependencies: If you choose the Darknite version you need this SimFox Day and Nite Modd -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you can make voluntary contributions to support me in continuing to create more content for SimCity 4 (I decided to use paypal instead of Patreon because I want everyone to have access to my content). https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=WF9FDNHXCHDVU Thanks to all the (7) people who have donated to me!- 5 Comments

Replies: SIMCITYPLIS: Thanks a lot for your comment! And, to answer your question, I use Simcoug's Diagonal Houses. kim026: That was just a small sample, I'm going to be applying that rock work to entire sides of mountains! _Michael: Cheers! reg: Thanks must go to the Sudden Valley terrain mod and the ARDEN tree controllers- they do most of the heavy-lifting! JulioC: It's one of those rare times where I'm happy with my rock MMP work. But what you see is just the beginning, it will be applied on a larger scale to the mountains of Cindersville. Anthrax92: Thanks a lot! dédale: Thank you! Simul8ter8: The first version of this CJ (sadly defunct due to computer problems and Imageshack issues three years ago) had loads of landscapes. I used to go really heavy on the MMPs, now I'm using the terrain and the ARDEN tree controller (at high altitudes) to create realistic-looking landscapes- thus cutting out on a lot of the MMPs. Layla Sims: Thanks! It took about an hour just finishing off that rocky area! {---} Entry 61 -- Travis City Due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK there's a lockdown in place and I'm working from home. This means more time and which means a return to SC4. I'm starting on Travis City which is a higher-elevation town in the USA which is surrounded by coniferous forest. I'm experimenting with housing density and squeezing out any last possible lot combination of C.P.'s Early 19th Century Houses and Victorian Houses. Later on in the week I'll be returning to Cindersville, but Travis City is me getting back into SC4 after six weeks of not touching the game- because I was busy story writing. {---} 1. It starts with a concrete road cutting through the coniferous forest... 2. I've always liked Bipin's industrial roads and now I'm using them on a vastly larger scale- sadly they can only be used on flat terrain. 3. The city so far, as of today I've doubled the size from what can be seen here. 4. I've found the 2x2 Victorian House from C.P. to be a great fit to both the concrete roads and the landscape. 5. For the houses I'm pretty using C.P.'s content. 6. One challenge of Bipin's industrial roads is getting the power poles (and their corresponding wires) to line up without overlapping. Further challenges include 1/2 of all road tiles (in a symmetrical fashion) not supporting 1x1 zone tiles. Thus I use 2x1 or larger to get around this problem. 7. Though the houses are all the same I bunch up the density to indicate proximity to focal points of Travis City- this city doesn't have a centre per say, instead there are several focal points where higher density radiates out and transitions to lower density. 8. The reason why Bipin's industrial roads are so brilliant is due to their sidewalk textures- they allow for the seamless connection of driveways which MASSIVELY increases realism. It's subtle but it's the only reason why these concrete roads look so good. 9. The city tile has hills to the south. 10. I plan on creating a few villages in the southern areas and a possible suburb (or two) of Travis City winding its way into the hills... 11. NO MMPs were used in these scenes! I achieved this by vastly increasing the terrain's elevation so that I can ensure the entire city tile will be covered with coniferous trees, thanks to the ARDEN tree controller. Given the high elevations then any slopes or hills will bring out the Sudden Valley's true range of terrain textures and bring out the very best from the ARDEN tree controller- as you can see here. 12. Which means I don't need to MMP the area- the ARDEN tree controller has done that work for me. 13. I've never seen these flora combinations before from the ARDEN tree controller! 14. Again- who needs MMP when the done is already done? 15. By spacing out the buildings I've deliberately left small city blocks empty of buildings (or green areas behind the buildings), thus creating pockets of woodland and more natural space. 16. The ARDEN tree controller working its magic. However, where the terrain is drier, say very yellow or even rocky grey or brown, then I deliberately demolish trees growing on those areas. Thus helps to create natural breaks in the forest. The rest of the forest breaks, which give way to grassland and shrubs, were all generated by the remarkable ARDEN tree controller. {---} This Friday- Brooklyn, New York! And an overview of my progress... FYI- the Brooklyn part (well approximation of Brooklyn) can be seen in the bottom half of the picture.

Welcome to my new City Journal! All Cities shown are inspired by reality, but may have subtle differences with their real-life counterparts. These differences may be due to game constraints... or... just because. We'll start off on the US West Coast. Seattle, Washington is the largest city in the US state of Washington. There are over 3 million people living in the Greater Seattle Metropolitan Area, which is known for its naturally beautiful surroundings, rain, coffee and Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks and Costco, all of which are headquartered here. Another major company, Boeing, was founded in Seattle and still has significant operations in the area, though its corporate headquarters was moved to Chicago. Below, is a picture of downtown Seattle during the afternoon commute. Interstate 5 runs through the downtown area and is often congested. There are, however, Express Lanes that run parallel to the general purpose travel lanes. This is, in my opinion, one of the coolest stretches of interstate freeway in the United States as there are multiple tunnels and ramps as well as the close proximity to the Seattle skyline. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport also known as "SeaTac Airport" is the primary commercial passenger airport serving the Seattle metropolitan area and is one of the busiest airports in the world. It serves many US-domestic routes, as well as international routes and non-stop flights to cities in Asia and Europe. It is a hub for Alaska Airlines and Delta Airlines and is currently undergoing renovation and expansion. Below is the new skybridge that links the South Satellite terminal (used primarily for international flights) with the Main Terminal, allowing passengers to "walk over" the planes. Portland, Oregon is the largest city in the US state of Oregon. There are approximately 2 million people living in the Portland-Vancouver-Salem Metropolitan Area. Portland is known for rain, coffee, donuts, beer, food carts, biking and outdoor lifestyle. Many Portlanders pride themselves in "Keeping Portland Weird", though the city and region has been one of the fastest growing in the nation in recent years. It is the setting for the comedy television show Portlandia. Downtown Portland, shown below, is known for its small, walk-able blocks each measuring 200 by 200 feet (or 4x4 in SC4) as well as its "park blocks" (entire city blocks dedicated to green space). The tallest building in Oregon, the Wells Fargo Center, pictured below, is 546 feet, 41 stories tall. It has been the tallest building in the state since 1972 and no building is expected to be taller in the foreseeable future, as the City has a strict height limit in the downtown area to protect views of the nearby West Hills and of Mount Hood. The Lloyd District in Portland is home to the Lloyd Center Mall, once billed as America's "largest outdoor mall". It was covered, expanded and renovated into an indoor mall in the early 1990's. In recent years, the mall has become somewhat dilapidated and there are rumors that the site may be used for a Major League Baseball Stadium as part of an effort by Portland to lure a professional baseball team. The Lloyd District is also home to the Oregon Convention Center (pictured below) as well as the Moda Center, home of the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers basketball team. Fremont, California is a suburban city in Alameda County, California. It is located in the San Francisco Bay Area along the Bay's eastern shore (also known as the "East Bay"), approximately 30 miles south of Oakland and 15 miles north of San Jose. Fremont has an estimated population of 238,000 residents. It consists of primarily suburban residential and commercial strip malls and industrial areas. It is also home to the Tesla factory, where the famous electric car maker currently manufactures its Model S, Model X and Model 3 vehicles. The Tesla Factory is located along Interstate 880 and Mission Blvd. and is also located next to the Union Pacific Railroad line and the new BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Silicon Valley Extension. Los Angeles, California perhaps needs no introduction. It is the second largest city in the United States with an estimated population of almost 4 million people within the city limits alone. It is the economic center of the Greater Los Angeles area which has an even greater estimated population of almost 14 million people. Los Angeles County and nearby Orange County are the largest counties by population in the United States and LA ranks 3rd/4th largest GDP (by city) in the world. It's known best for Hollywood, movies, television and celebrities, but it is also incredibly diverse both demographically and socio-economically. Downtown LA, pictured below, is home to many corporate offices and hotels. Historically, it tended to clear out after every one got off work... but in more recent years, there has been a real push to develop more residential and housing in the downtown area.
