Built in 1973 (clearly) and located in the Chicago suburbs, this building's color is one of the few things that sets it apart from thousands of its peers. Seriously, spend any time in the suburbs of any major American city and you will encounter approximately a billion of these. But very few of them will be gold! Somehow, this is not the first shiny golden 1970s office tower I've made. I have an affinity for buildings with colorful glass curtain walls, okay? Sue me. This building sits on a 5x6 lot and comes in growable and ploppable CO$$ varieties, both of which provide 1003 jobs. Both Darknite and Maxisnite versions are provided. Only one may be used at a time. The Darknite version requires SimFox's Day and Nite Modd. Dependencies: SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures SHK Parking Pack BSC Common Dependencies Pack Enjoy! -

I've been playing SC4 for 15 years, recently started using NAM to create real complicated interchanges so common in American cities. I think Chicago is maybe the easiest city to be replicated in the game as the blocks go in well-planned square shapes. Now I'm working on this city, with all the great works and models created by you fellows on simtropolis. Thank you for all, and hoping to finish a vivid replicate of Chicago as much as I can. Current progress. I'm starting from near west side and the heart of Chicago, then I will do the south side, north side and finally downtown. I made two iconic sunken highways of Chicago, Kennedy Expy and No.290 Expy, and theif intersection Jane M. Bryne Interchange using NAM. Railway authentic as well. University of Illinois, Chicago Goose Island, still working on it. I'm form China and never really been to Chicago, so please give any opinion to make my work more vivid. Will keep updating my work.

Here's a fun set for everyone ---- it's the old familiar Maxis R$$ 2 story houses from the Chicago 1890 tileset. I have lotted them so that you can place them adjacent to FA3 roadways. These are great for filling in areas with houses that already may exist nearby. They are neutral landmarks that cost noting to operate. The original nightlighting still works the same. There are 6 lots for visual variety, all 3x1 --- 3 are left-facing, 3 are right-facing Only dependency is Maxis bldgs as props for the houses. I've always been quite fond of these. Have fun! -

Download in comments section Sorry I've been holding out for so long - these are my favorite urban infill lots! They look great in areas between WTW rowhomes and detached suburbs. These are some narrow lot residentials I've been using for a long time in my game. Here they are lotted on conveniently sized parcels for easier development. These houses are often clustered together in tight parcels built by the same developer anyway. You can grow them on medium residential easily if you don't zone water first then historicalize them, or use growify. North Bergen Narrow Lots (NJ, circa 1910) available in 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, 7x2, and 8x2 lot sizes! St Louis Narrow Lots (Missouri, circa 1910) avail. 4x2 size only. Both sets of rowhomes are available as prop families contained within for easy relotting. Lmk if you encounter any other issues. This is a heavily tested file. -

Back with another map! This time it's Chicago, Illinois (for SimCity 4). The map includes cities and areas such as: Chicago, IL Naperville, IL Waukegan, IL Kenosha, WI Gary, IN The map is 24 x 32 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. Some elevations in the map were compressed in order to maintain waterways in game. In order to install the map you will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer as the file is in SC4M format. I hope you can put this map to good use, enjoy! -TCC View My Full Map Catalogue Here:- 2 Reviews

Description: Soldier Field, the Wrigley Building, Marina City, and many other well-known (and not so well-known) buildings accompany the first volume. Use the resources below to browse, learn about, and download this tileset. Notes on The Chicago Tileset - In addition to the information below, the text file that comes with each archive further explains how to use the graphics. General info - Volume 2 of the Chicago set adds several famous buildings found in Chicago. For your convenience, buildings from volume 2 are integrated in the same tileset as volume 1, so you don't have to worry about any buildings conflicting. Image format notes - It is recommended that users download the set in tileset format, but for users who prefer to load graphics in image format, GIF and PCX files are offered. DOS users should download the PCX version and Windows and Mac users should download the GIF version. The GIF versions have been given a palette that is compatible with SCURK for Windows, making the background automatically transparent without scrambling the colors. For more on color palettes and SCURK, click here. DOS users - The DOS version varies greatly from all other versions in that the tallest buildings are placed in the 4x4 Arcology and Llama Dome tilebases. Because of this, DOS users will see more landscaping at the base of the building (which sort of adds a more scenic look). Windows users (3.1 and 95) - The Windows version is created specifically for Windows, taking advantage of its added options and flexibility. For one, the towers are placed in commercial 3x3 tilebases, allowing the larger 4x4 tilebases to be used for other large buildings. In addition, each tilebase is given the appropriate name for its building. For example, when you click the query tool on the Sears Tower in the game, it will be called "Sears Tower" and not "Office tower". Macintosh users - Volume 1 of the Macintosh version is available now. Volume 2 is currently only available in DOS and Windows tilesets, although Mac users are encouraged to download the GIF files which can be imported into SCURK (one at a time, unfortunately). A native Mac tileset will hopefully be offered soon. Special thanks go to Joe Sartelle for doing the conversions on volume 1. Comment from uploader (catty-cb) - Have retrieved as many files belonging to this tileset as I've been able to locate, but due to the way the tileset was uploaded to the SC3000 website its not possible to match above notes to the files themselves, I can't guarantee how well any of this is going to work in a SC2000 game.-

Originally planned as a 37-story building, the developer bought an L-shaped building aside original lot and expanded the site. Clad in limestone and granite, the Holabird and Root-designed structure (Andrew Rebori was the associate architect) serves as an office building. When built, the beacon on the top of the building could be seen from as far as 200 miles. As with other buildings in Chicago, the structure is upwardly lit at night with moonlight, and the peak of building is typically lit in cobalt blue. The nights illumination design was a common contemporary Chicago architectural theme, seen also in the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, Jewelers Building, Palmolive Building, and Chicago Board of Trade Building. Notice: 1.- The model presented here is an interpretation of the author. The measurements and size may vary from the original. 2.- The models are not exact replicas of the original building. 3.- This is a work of exploration and experimentation that Diego Del Llano wanted to share with the community of Simtropolis. Wellington Place is an apartment building located in Chicago. If you don't have many 3 tile deep residential growable lots, this building might grow a lot. It grows on medium and high density residential zones, and it's part of the New York and Euro tilesets. 2x3 growable R§§ lot. MaxisNite and DarkNite versions included. DarkNite requires the Day and Nite Modd. Installation Instructions: Download either the DarkNite (DN) or MaxisNite (MN) version. If you're unsure, choose the MN version. Unzip the .zip and move its contents to Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins. SC4Lot files are descriptively titled. Remove the lot versions which you don't want. Do not remove any .SC4Model files. -

Ben Rose House, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Made famous by the 1986 movie, 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', the Ben Rose House is a modernist residence designed by architect James Speyer in Highland Park, Illinois, for Ben and Francis Rose. The steel, timber and glass house was built in 1953 and sits surrounded by many trees overlooking a ravine. A separate pavilion was built in 1974. The house was recently put on the market, and despite representing stunning modernist design, failed to secure buyers. In addition to the interiors of the house requiring modernisation, the main reason that was given for lack of buyer interest was the two separate pavilions: while visually charming, this is quite impractical during winter in many temperate locations, let alone the bitter weather that Chicago often experiences. The house eventually sold after many years on the market and substantial discounting. To that end, I have added a glass walkway to connect the two pavilions, so this house is by no means a replica. This BAT is offered as a Mayor's house. There are two different versions included in the download: you can keep one or both, and both can be used at the same time in the same city if you wish. The first version is a 6x6 heavily wooded lot with a custom foundation that is designed to be placed on hillsides. This gives the mayor a perfectly private sanctuary overlooking his or her city. The second version is a 4x4 lot without a custom foundation that is designed for more level ground and has far fewer trees: this version is more suited to areas which are more urban, or for those who predominantly play on flat areas. Like the in-game Mayor's House, both lots are found in the Rewards Menu and have a separate icon and description to easily distinguish between the two versions. Placing this reward will boost surrounding desirability for business and residential, raise demand caps, provide jobs, and provide both landmark and park effects. It needs road, power and water. There are no restriction as to how often these lots can be placed and this reward will not over-write, or interfere with, any other mayor house rewards (including the in-game version). --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size: 4x4 or 6x6 Plop Cost: § 4,550 Bulldoze Cost: § 730 Monthly Cost: § 45 Wealth: High Park Effect: 150 over 60 tiles Landmark Effect: 120 over 60 tiles Mayor Rating: 8 over 220 tiles Pollution at Centre: 1 (air) /1 (water) /5 (garbage) Pollution Radius: 2/3/0 Demand Created: R§ 5, R§§ 10, R§§§ 2 Power Consumed: 24 Mwh Water Consumed: 32 Gallons Occupant Groups: Reward; Mayors House --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: To ensure proper functionality, make sure the following files are in your plugins folder: *BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1180) *BSC Mega Props - CP Vol02.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2790) *BSC Texture Pack - Cycledogg V01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=101) --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the file into your plugins folder. -

Serving the Chicago area and it surrounding suburbs, Jewel-Osco is a supermarket chain headquartered out of Itasca, Illinois. The company has grown to 188 stores and is a subsidiary of parent company Albertsons. Jewel-Osco’s roots are traced back to 1899 when its founder, Frank Vernon Skiff, used the company (then simply named Jewel) as a door-to-door coffee delivery service. Eventually the chain would expand into delivering non-perishable groceries and finally into a grocery store. A 1961 merger with Chicago’s Osco Drug stores would set the name for the company’s new stores starting in 1962. 9x9 lot with around 600 jobs Dependencies: LBT MEGA Prop Pack Vol 1 Mushy's Trailers BSC MEGA Props SG Vol 1 RR MEGA Prop Pack Vol. 1 SHK Parking Pack SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures 1.0.1 SuperSHK + FA3 Parking Textures BSC - VIP Girafe Trees/Shrubs Beech Trees Berries Feather Grass Hedges Linden Trees Poplar Trees Rowan Trees- 1 Comment

WILLOUGHBY TOWER, at 8 S. Michigan avenue, on the southwest corner of E. Madison street, built in 1929, is 36 stories high, on caissons. Samuel N. Crowen was the architect. The eight-story Willoughby building (Western Bank Note building) previously occupied this corner. The newest design for the Willoughby Tower, by S. V. Croweon, architect, to be erected at the southwest corner of Madison and Boul Mich was announced on February 4, 1928. It is almost changed from the first design shown in The Tribune of Sunday, Sept. 18, 1927. Two Prudential Plaza is a 64-story skyscraper that was built in the Loop area of Chicago, Illinois, United States in 1990. At 995 feet (303 m) tall, it is currently the sixth-tallest building in Chicago and the seventeenth-tallest in the U.S., being only five feet from 1,000 feet, making it the closest of any building under 1,000. The building was designed by the firm Loebl Schlossman & Hackl, with Stephen T. Wright as the principal in charge of design. It has been honored with 8 awards, including winning the Best Structure Award from the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois in 1995. At the time of completion Two Prudential was the world's tallest reinforced concrete building. Its distinctive shape features stacked chevron setbacks on the north and south sides, a pyramidal peak rotated 45°, and an 80-foot (24 m) spire. Wellstone Plaza is a 44-story office building for the Houston and Euro tilesets. It is a generic 1970s international style office tower based on a number of buildings I saw on a recent trip to Chicago, most notably CNA Center and Daley Center. I've always thought the rusty COR-TEN steel facades of buildings like Daley Center or the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh were interesting, so this is my attempt at something similar. This model is available as a CO$$ tower in both growable and ploppable versions. It sits on a 5x3 lot and has 6000 jobs. Both Darknite and Maxisnite options are provided - use only one at a time! Dependencies: BSC_TexturePack_Cycledogg_V 01 - for my barebones lotting job SimFox Day and Nite Modd - for the Darknite version of the model The CAM lots included in this upload require the Colossus Addon Mod. Click here to learn more about my current projects. UPDATE 7-2-19: Added an additional non-CAM growable lot. Thanks to @Tyberius06 for pointing this out!
