  1. TCC Maps - Chicago, Illinois

    Version 1.0.0

    311 Downloads

Back with another map! This time it's Chicago, Illinois (for SimCity 4). The map includes cities and areas such as: Chicago, IL Naperville, IL Waukegan, IL Kenosha, WI Gary, IN The map is 24 x 32 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. Some elevations in the map were compressed in order to maintain waterways in game. In order to install the map you will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer as the file is in SC4M format. I hope you can put this map to good use, enjoy! -TCC View My Full Map Catalogue Here:
  2. Hey guys, here are a couple of photos of the tile I'm currently working on, hope this tides you guys over!
  3. Indiola Part 4: Downtown Ohio

@BugeyedDragon and @tariely, thanks for the comments! So as per tradition it seems, my game crashes before I can finish the pictures, so here's downtown Ohio City. I had recently done some "surgery" tot he city as I felt I had to many unrealistic skyscrapers, thus downtown looks different from the preview photo. This is the area known collectively as the Ol' City. this was considered "downtown" before the big skyscraper boom in Ohio City in the 70s. Here we see one of the first and tallest of the Ohio City Skyscrapers, the Portage Building. Below the Portage building are the Governor's mansion, the Senate Building (Aka the "hive") and to the right is the City Hall. Ohio City's tallest tower is the Emerald Building and like that Roundabout filler, is basically due to one of our old mayors obsession with Emeralds. It was built and designed by Cobb & Co and its the building on the far left. . The Ritzy "Plaza Caledonia" Shopping center The Bison Hotel, plus the Emerald Building! two of the older buildings, the Metro Baptist Hospital and the Simmons Debyunik Trading Co Offices. The Coast The Fisherman's Pier One non-emerald related thing the old Mayor of Ohio City did, was build a huge statute of himself. The Popular Cola Tower, and a building under construction. Another look at the Ol' City region. Southside apartments. Before the skyscraper boom in the 70s, most the larger buildings were in the southside. the State Capitol building and Courthouse. Grande Royal Casino, Gambling is legalized in Indiola and this casino is unique in that it crosses over the road below. the Gwaltney building. Built and designed by the HK Group. Another photo of the Ohio City coast And Finally, a Picture I meant to post on the last update, Hefty Stadium (Sponsored by Heft Garbage Bags), Home of the soccer and football teams in Ohio City (OCFC and Ohio City Aces) Hope you enjoyed this update
  4. Indiola Part 3: Ohio City Suburbs

@kschmidt, @kelistmac and @tariely, thanks for the comments and thanks for the idea for beaches Tariely! At roughly 150,000 Ohio City is the center of Indiola both economically and culturally. We're gonna take a look at the outlaying areas of Ohio City. (Because like last time the game crashed before I could finish the shoot) Northeast Ohio City This is Day Bible College, a notoriously conservative Christian school similar to that of Liberty University, but on a smaller scale. Shopping in and around the campus, includes Comet, Fishy Master Sushi, and Babcock Citroen Indiola Museum of Art Residencies \ Police Station More residencies Southeastern Ohio City. A small chunk of this area is incorporated as Powell Pines Powell Pines Farmers Market, Powel Pines City Hall and Ohio City Driving School Far eastern Powell Pines. Includes Pizza, Cell Phones, Bowling and Tractors. This is ChezMondo Stadium, home of the Ohio City Bandits of the Waukegan League. Here's South Ohio City, Includes the incorporated area of Pittsfield Suburban living! You could call this "Downtown Pittsfield" even though it is in incorporated Ohio City. Fry's Electronics is the anchor for this big shopping complex. Baseball fields and office parks in the far south. Ohio City Presbyterian Academy and Church plus the train stop for South Ohio City. Southwest Ohio City (From Top to Bottom) Gamma Hardware, Fancy Flea Antique Mall and Fleamarket, KMart, Southside Mall. A RightRail EMD G8 Carries a small manifest freight. Target anchors this shopping center along with Cub Foods and Hardees. Wal*Mart Anchors this store with Century Movie Theatres, and Media Markt Electronics South High School (Right) Freeman Elementary school (Left) plus Levens Stadium (Football) and Surhoff Ballpark (Baseball) Indiola University! You can tell what the original school was and what the new parts of school are. Homes plus on the far left is St Leo Preparatory School The newest addition to Indiola University. A dormitory/Athletics center. Ikea is the anchor store along with O'Charley's, Texaco, HyVee and Bass Pro Shops plus two blank lots for future use. Northwest Indiola Shoreline Palce Theatre and Music Hall The infamous "Vanity Project" Emerald Statute at the roundabout on roundabout at University Pike and Brown Ave. Warehousing District of Ohio City More Industry, plus the Franciscan Church of Ohio City. Also seen is Midtown Volkswagen, and the Ohio City train station. The Amazon Warehouse in the Warehousing District. One the left is DDT& Sons Farm supply, on the right is thought ti be a FBI building, and in the middle is this statue commissioned by the Indiola Dairy Farmers Association. Hope you enjoyed! Next update will be downtown Ohio City!
  5. SOON!

    COMING SOON!
  6. Indiola Part 2: Williard Beach

@raynev1 and @123deoliveira4 : Thanks for the comments. and I'm glad I'm not the only one still on vanilla highways. Anyways, I briefly mentioned Williard Beach, but before I could get screenshots of it, my game crashed. So here's a special update devoted to Williard Beach (ALSO NOTE: I am facing the opposite direction, so the left side is east and the right side west. ) The East Williard area. West Williard Beach + South East Waukegan University. Better view of the university. West Williard, where some of the trendier shops and other buildings are located. Also the Williard Beach Lighthouse is here. Downtown Williard Beach, with the hotels and casinos. Indiola recently legalized Gambling, and Williard Beach's prime location near the border has made it a booming tourist destination. Southern Williard Beach. here's a few shots of the homes of Williard Beach, which range from nice family homes to shotgun shacks on the rocky shore. Downtown East Williard, where the LCBO liquor store and Fruits 'n' More Market are located. Also you can have a cup at Morning After Coffee, or shop for nuts at Goober's nuts. This boat statute called "the Viking Traveller" was donated to the city by local Norweigian-Waukeganite sculptor Per Fredrikkson two auto dealers that make Williard Beach home (Williard Beach Toyota and Scott Bros Citroen) Some people of Williard are living on the dune. (ignore the floating houses) Here are some of the older buildings in downtown Williard Beach To of the hotel/casinos that dominate the Williard landscape. They are the Masters Hotel & Casino (top) and the Palace Del Rio Hotel Alumni memorial park at USEW. This is the Pod an experimentally designed dormitory from the 60s, plus the Computer Sciences room to the left. Kasper Hall is one of the original school buildings McCutchen Stadium is home to both USEW's football and soccer teams. it was named after Horace McCutchen a farmer who donated land to the school for the stadium. More older college buildings. And finally, an artistic shot of the east Williard area. Not sure what the next update will be, it will likely be the 100,000+ city of Ohio City or maybe I'll start on Lake Rudy, but you will know in the next update.
  7. Indiola is the eastern most district in Waukegan. Indiola is heavily agrarian and is made up of mostly farm town with one major city, that being Ohio City. This update will go over the north eastern most tile, NE Indiola and the many cities located in there. Unlike most of the region, the eastern portion of Indiola is made up of dunes and other elevation changes. (This is loosely based off of the Indiana Dunes surrounding Michigan City) CONCORD Concord is the Largest city in this tile, a big hub of agriculture and retail, Here is West Concord and Subertsville. West Concord is mainly a suburb that blew up in the 80s while Shubertsville is an Industrial town. Another view of West Concord plus some of the farmland around North East Indiola. WIlliard Beach is a popular hotspot with Casinos and Beachside hotels. It is also home to the University of South Eastern Waukegan Finally we have Applegate and to the north east Baileytown Let's go to some more detailed shots, we'll start off in Applegate. Applegate Kia and Gamma Hardware are two of the biggest businesses in Applegate. There's also Perfect Sign Co, they have a contract with the American State of Pennsylvania to make their roadsigns. This Citgo host car shows every Friday night from April to October Homes from Applegate. Also one of the small cheap apartments that have been popping up in the area. The Cross of Applegate and Applegate Presbyterian Church. They probably should have spent the money on a bigger church than a bigger cross. Here's Baileytown. Not much here so you'll only get this pic. Here's Concord, the bustling center of North East Indiola, Along with West Concord. (And yes, I use default Highways. I always found RHW overwhelming) West Concord "downtown". A throwback to when it used to be a small blip on the map and not the suburban center it is today West Concord proper is now home to trendy fast food places such as Bojangles and Zaxby's (PS Bojangles > Zaxby's) These Trendy apartments popped up in the late 90s and allow easy access to to the Nationals Highway that leads to Ohio City and points west. Wiggums Springs Bottling Plant (Home of Wiggum Water), has been part of the scene in West Concord long before the growth of the area. Same goes for Marc's Truck Stop Here's Sobey's a Grocery Store that popped up in the mid 90s and is the place to shop if you live n Concord. Back in Concord, you see the cute Tudor style homes that were built next to the tracks back in the 70s. Also at the bottom is Concord Rail Station. Here's the area north of the highway Also North are farms and some industry Here we see Schubertville, and the Schubertville Industrial Park, were most of the major industries are located in NE Indiola. Close up of some food manufacturers. GooberGen has two facilities across the street from each other. Here's one of them. Here's some of the older factories in Schubertville, Highlighted by The Miami Cold Storage Co. (At the bottom) Meanwhile this is "Downtown Schubertville" The only building of note is the Shubertville Hotel. This is a converted old housing facility for factory workers. Here we see the Schubertville Station and Indiola Farm Supply - Schubertville division Here's the area north of Schubertville Station. It's likely for that farm to be developed into commercial and retail development, now that the farmer has passed way.
  8. An Introduction to Waukegan

Waukegan is a small nation on the South West shore of Lake Harbaugh. It's capital is Midway a huge Metropolis located on the central coast of the country. The nation is divided up into 9 districts and here they are on this crudely drawn map I made in MS Paint.) Ranosha (Based on Racine/Kenosha area + Rockford) Des Cobb (Based on Des Kalb and the surrounding area) Gurney Coast (Based on North East suburban Chicago) Naperia (Naperville/Aurora and surrounding area) Waukegan Capital District (Chicago proper /Apologies for typo) Pere Marquette (SW Chicago/Joliet) South Waukegan (SE Chicago/As you can tell I had trouble figuring out the spelling at the beginning of this map) Eastshore (South Shore/Gary/Hammond) Indiola (Michigan City area / Valparaiso Area) The First update is coming out soon, so stay tuned!
