This is the same as the original arkatanya except I removed the extraneous connections that were from a multiplayer region I hosted. I renamed the region Silverbend Praire, as it reflects my vision of this being a farming region. You can rename it whatever you want by modifying the region.ini file. I'll a version of this with the regional transit (highways and rail) soon, that will be under arkatanya#4. Reposted: I was tired of seeing maps that were not fun to play on because they had very little buildable area and also were an unrealistic place for people to settle. Most maps being too big (100s or 1000s of tile) or too small (3-4 large tiles), this map is 8x8 with 60 large tiles and about 16 medium ones - although it will look fairly populated once it has 16-25 cities; the tiles are staggered allowing for commercial (office) centers for those that want to do a large international airport challenge. This map is a river valley map, of a hypothetical fictitious USA county in a northern state. Some people will prefer to densify the hills and others will add touches or leave the way it is. Download the zip and extract to your regions folder. -

I made a brand new arkatanya there's no lingering connections or mayor's names in the mayor data like arkatanya #1. However, I put this together last night unlike arkatanya #1 that was put together over the course of several sessions. I'm thinking of adding highway connections and cleaning up the hills, so it can be one of those ready made maps. The file is a 7zip file. It has to be extracted with 7zip and placed in your regions folder. -

Hello Simtropolis! I've mentioned a few times that I've been interesting in trying different types of content with this project, and yesterday I took a step in that direction by completing my first Twitch stream. I focused on building in a small area and was able to fill one block during the stream, but I think it came out pretty well. If you are interested I've uploaded the replay to Youtube and embedded it below. The idea behind this is to give a bit more insight into how I build Bienville, so if you are interested in that aspect be sure to check it out. I am going to be doing more streams in the future I think, so if that sounds like something you would like to see I recommend going over to my Twitch Channel (KCJCLive) and giving it a follow so you'll be able to see when the next stream starts. Thank you all for reading, have a great day!

My World- Looking at stadiums
ussoldier2002 posted a City Journal entry in ussoldier2002's City Journal
So I just realized that I had made a comment in my last entry (thinking that is what you are supposed to do lol). Anyway, here is my latest entry. I will be posting some of my smaller towns and such a little later. Taking a look at where we are now. In my universe we are roughly around 1890. At this point Major League Baseball consists of 8 teams. Here is a small tour of some of our major cities. I understand the World Trade Center, the Sears Tower, etc. did not exist in the 1800's but I am not worried about being all that accurate at this point. This is already taking a lot of time. The first image is the home of the Boston Braves in Boston MA. The second image is Ebbet's Field home of the Brooklyn Dodgers until they moved to Los Angeles. The third is the first home of the Chicago Cubs followed by an image of downtown Chicago. The next image is downtown Cincinnati and the home of the Reds until they moved to Riverfront Stadium. Downtown Manhattan and the Polo Grounds. Home of the New York Giants The first home of the Philadelphia Phillies. Then you have the first home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. You then have downtown St. Louis and the Cardinals first stadium. Finally the nation's capitol, Washington DC. -
Extra: Bienville Cinematic 1 - River Market and North Bertling Park
KCJC posted a City Journal entry in Bienville, Missouri
Hello Simtropolis! So, I mentioned in my last entry that some Bienville video content would be coming, and here it is! I'm overall pretty happy with how it turned out, but I still need to work on figuring out how to make the video a bit more smooth. I also encountered a few issues recording and I think because of a conversion I had to do on some of the video a few parts are a bit lower quality. If anyone has any tips to improve cinematics recorded in Cities: Skylines I'd love to hear them. Hope you all enjoyed, thank you for watching and reading!- 3 Comments

The Life and Death of a Great American City San Felipe, California Hello, this is my first city journal in this forum and I would like to present you my new project: San Felipe. San Felipe is a city in California located between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and in this diary we will cover the period from its founding as a small village into the present day (hopefully) as a sprawling metropolis. I will try my best to ensure the city grows naturally and realistically within the limits of Cities: Skylines. 1903 - Founding San Felipe was founded on October 5th, 1903 as a small farming village at a region already well developed by agriculture. The region known as the San Felipe valley nested among the mountains and the sea was already notable in the Spanish and Mexican eras for the fertility of the area. The valley experiences a typical pacific Mediterranean climate with very mild winters and hot summers and thus was ideal for the growing of plants native to Spain and other Southern European countries such as Oranges, Apples, Citrons, etc. It was during the American conquest however that the area truly developed with an influx of settlers creating the large farms found in the valley, and using the water from George's Lake for irrigation purposes. Nevertheless the area did not start developing until the late 19th century where the first settlement was formed at the heart of the valley. In 1903 it was incorporated as the City of San Felipe, already having a population of 1,000 people. The center of the town was delimited as the intersection between Main Street (leading from San Francisco to Los Angeles) and North Street (leading to the Whitting Iron Mines). From 1903 onwards the town growed at a slow pace as more and more farmers came to the city seeking better living standards (electricity was introduced in 1904 and a modern sewage system was installed). 1907 - The arrival of the Railroad In 1907 Union Pacific was charged with constructing a spur railway from the main line connecting Los Angeles to San Francisco with San Felipe, with the aim of transporting passengers and shipements from the Iron Mines. For this purpose the San Felipe Railway Station was built in Spanish Mission Revival Architecture and became an architectural centrepiece in San Felipe. The railway initially built as a single track at standard gauge proved very important for the development of San Felipe, as it reduced the otherwise dangerous and rough trip through the mountains. The city then started growing faster as more and more businesses started opening and farms became increasingly profitable and adapted to newer technology. In 1910 the first high school was built at the south side of town. in 1911 the San Felipe Ironworks where founded with the goal of creating products with the use of iron. This was the first heavy industry to be established within city limits. 1913 - The Oil Age In 1913 perhaps the biggest single event in San Felipe's history happened: on January 10th a farmer struck oil on his property and immediately the news propagated throughout America that Oil had been found in San Felipe. Further south in Los Angeles oil was discovered too and the population exploded. Thousands of labourers flocked from America seeking to make their fortunes off this precious black liquid. Hundreds of oil wells were set up by many different "companies" made by fortune seekers. Indeed, the oil boom was immediate and it would shape the city to come. One historian later said: "a small country town in America rose overnight from a farmer's village into a city with the prospects of becoming a city of the rank of New York City or London." The oil age was on, and indeed the infrastructure started proving inadequate with the shipments of oil which had to be shipped to Los Angeles or San Francisco, making the single rail line a bottleneck. At the same time the San Felipe Steel Mill was inaugurated with the purpose of producing steel off the iron reserves of the Whitting Mine. It proved to be a huge facility, perhaps the biggest in the West Coast and would too prove a vital component of San Felipe's economy. 1916 - The Port In 1916 the Port of San Felipe was inaugurated, a project of Southern Pacific's Railway in order to effectively ship the oil into the harbour and then to various ports throughout the Western US. The Port was to contain at first one pier with four cranes, a dedicated railway line and a goods station. The Port was considered the most modern port in the US. The city then exploded in growth rivalling other oil towns resulting in the creation of many new blocks and the influx of thousands of new people, turning San Felipe into a medium sized city.

Description This is a map of the greater area of Boston, Massachusetts. Since this is my first map, there might be a few kinks. Areas include: downtown Boston, Boston Logan Intl. Airport, Cambridge, Winthrop, Brookline, and more! This map is almost completely flat, so it's perfect for heavy development. Instructions on installation in the readme file included in the download. -
Hello and welcome to a new city journal. A town based on somewhere in Orange County, California. The main road is Pacific Coast Highway which runs along most of the Californian coast. Heading north from Los Palma is the megalopolis of Los Angeles, whilst heading south will take you Oceanside the closest town to San Diego. This project will also me to create assets which have a Hispanic/californian style which I think is lacking in the workshop. Anyways, without further a do I present Los Palma: The Oceanside pier Looking south Green renewable energy! California is one of the leading contributors in the US to renewable energy. Up coast Stay tuned for more in the next coming weeks, I will also start working on my first commercial Hispanic building. Thank you for reading.

This upload is of ill Tonkso's Fox Plaza. Again this is only a relot and the original model file will be needed. This one like many of my relots is sub-tropical/tropical in design again. So might not be to everyone's preference, but the original building is from Los Angeles so i think the lot fits in well. This upload only replaces the ploppable lot file. The original file that is required can be found here. NEW SCOTLAND - DUMFRIES TEASER - 001 Pictured here are homes along Valley Avenue, shortly before the road divides into the two one-way streets which go straight through downtown Dumfries. Most of the homes in this area are from the mid-twentieth century, and are owned by the Dumfrien elite and some of New Scotland's higher ranking state employees.

Anyone have any mod suggestions for a southern American region?
Cacciatoria posted a topic in SC4 Showcase
Hey y'all! I'm trying to make a region kind of similar to my hometown, Raleigh, North Carolina. Does anybody know of any mods that could help me make my region feel like it really is in the Southern United States? Thanks! -

I created this image ages ago for a CJ entry and I thought it would be a perfect fit for this competition (hopefully it can still be entered). I was inspired by this photograph while making this recreation, which was taken around the time of the surrender. Fictional map loosely based around Trindade Island. The island is located about 120 miles West of Ensenada, Mexico. Before the Spanish-American war, the island has sustained a populace of 5,300 people. However, during the war, America has completely taken over the island, and unfortunately, only 50 settlers were left by the end of the war due to rampant rebellion against American rule, forcing the US armed forces into murdering most residents. The island in the center of the waterfall has served as the downtown area of the Spanish settlement. No infrastructure, however, was left by the end of the war, due to the fact that most roads were unpaved, and no railroad was established. The harbor has been disassembled and recycled in 1955, and so were the most houses. In 2013, a highway has been built connecting the island to San Clemente Island near California. The highway is part of an American-Mexican off-coast highway, connecting Los Angeles, California, and Ensenada, Mexico. In 2015, the island has gained a lot of popularity amongst Californians, and the first official settlement was established on the island. The name "Las Kardes" it derived from the word kardex, which is Spanish for "archive" or "filing cabinet". It has been named as such due to the fact that colonization of the island post-Spanish-American War has been left off for a very long time. The island's total land area is 10.2 squared kilometers. It is fairly mountainous and contains a fertile delta in the West. The delta is quite dated, having formed only after several thousand years of rock breakdown. Geologists predict all island breakdown around the delta in approximately 4,190 years. The rest of the lake will become saltwater by the end of the next 200 years. The mountains contain a limited amount of ore. On the north of the island is a waterfall with a limited amount of fertile land. Animal life is present, dwelling primarily near the fertile areas. NOTE: High possibility of a default highway circulating around the island. Why? Because Americans love highways circulating around things, and because it's a very island-ish thing to have.-
