  1. Huoshan Dao Airport

The economy of Huoshan is booming. It outwardly looks like this strange British venture into the Chinese mainland has been a success! The main issue at the moment is that there is still no airport serving the island which has a population of over 500,000. Space is limited and density is high. The authorities are looking at some extensive land reclamation projects to allow them to build and airport. A progress update on the island: Welcome to the new airport: The completed land reclamation: Several years of construction and the airport is born. It has not come without its problems though. An increase in noise pollution has driven down the land value near the airport - some are happy about this as it makes homes more affordable! Elsewhere on the island we can see that land in the hills is being sold off for more suburban style homes: The shoreline of the island remains very dense:

The Post House The Post house is a small resident building in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire. It is an English rural building built in late 18 century. Name, “The Post House”, is written in gothic lettering on façade, but most likely the name has nothing to do with the mail or post office. The road is called Post Street, so I guess the name of the building comes from here. My BAT is very similar to real building, but not an exact copy. The back side and the extension is my imagination. However, I have got inspiration from 3D Warehouse Sketchup model of this house, but the BAT 100 % my own work. I haven’t used 3D Warehouse model’s textures as I feel that better result can achieve if I use my own texture bases. In real life the Post House is most likely a resident house, but I offer the BAT as CO$$ office. I need small rural offices for my SC4 plays, so I made this as such. I have included a red brick variation of this BAT and it is a R$$ residential building The model is HD and with Maxis and Dark Night version. Night versions share IDs, so if you have both versions in the city, those will most likely conflict. It has a custom foundation, so it is slope friendly. This Bat pack is a facsimile of building in Bedford Square, London, WC1. These are not exact copies, façades are close to real buildings, but the back sides are mostly of my imagination. I have also been very creative with the corner buildings. Still I hope that these give a feel of Bedford Square architecture. In total this pack consist 12 BAT models. Bedford Square is built in 1783 as an upper middle class residential area. It was a part of the speculated building boom, which saw London grow to North and West during late 18th Century. Bedford Square is one of the best preserved Georgian Squares in London and thus I feel it is a fine example of the Georgian architecture. Today these buildings are mostly commercial offices, but I have lotted these as residential buildings. As these were at the time of the building. The wealth level is bit of touch and go, because today a such of flat in London would cost a fortune. Still I feel that High Wealth in SC4 would require certain level of grandeur, simply being old is not good enough, so I lotted only stucco buildings as High Wealth and brick face ones are Medium Wealth. My compromise and these can be easily change if needed. The corner buildings are available as ploppable CO$$ versions and I have included a few models as 45 degree diagonal bonuses. I haven’t lotted diagonals and as I have a little experience about diagonals, I haven’t yet figured out how to use those efficiently. May be some can and is able to use bonus diagonals. The model is HD and with Maxis and Dark Night version. Night versions share IDs, so if you have both versions in the city, those will most likely conflict. Due the nature of the wells, these are not slope friendly and are at the best on relative flat terrain. If there is a demand for SD versions, I might consider it. So if you want SD BATs, please make a request. Dependencies Most buildings occupy a full lot, so the dependencies are essentially optional. However, a few lots have space on the back, so I have used some HD props on those. This is my entry for the Content Creation Competition. A 1x1 ploppable triangle lot for diagonal corner filling. I got my inspiration from Prepo's Triangle Parks, but I wanted to do something different. Something more industrial and grimy. This is a functional landmark with 14 I-M jobs. The pollution is low so this can used in the city centres. I have made a custom foundation, so it can be used with slopes. This does not float on the air like Prepoäs lots. Also both Dark Night and Maxis Night versions are included. However it does not have nightlights. These seem not to be working with overhanging props and I don't know any workaround for that. DEPENDENCIES: None. (However if you use my Clerkenwell Library FAR version, you can delete file InvisibleLibrary-0x5ad0e817_0xc40b002e_0x30000.SC4Model This is a duplicate and the same file is used in both FAR Clerkenwell Library and Vic Shoppe Lots)

This small wall-to-wall library is inspired by a real life building, Karl Marx Memorial Library, in Clerkenwell, London. This is no political statement, I just like its Georgian look and it fits into my current playstyle. There are not that many historical libraries for wall-to-wall urban environment, so I decided to create one. I have made two versions, a grey stucco functional education library and an additional red brick high wealth office building. The real life building is from Georgian era, built around 1769, but has been heavily modified during its life. It has served many functions, including as a shop. During 1980's the building was renovated and the original look was restored. This BAT is based on how facade looks today. HD model with Maxis and Dark Night version. Night versions share IDs, so if you have both versions in the city, those will most likely conflict. It has a custom foundation, so it is slope friendly. I have included in a 1x1 FAR angle option of the Library building. The FAR model is included in the file and perhaps someone can do a better lotting than I did. Simmer2 has been helpful with the lotting and he has provided a custom texture for the lots. The texture dat file is included in the download. Thank You Simmer2. The props are mostly HD to go with the HD BAT. 8. Gochester

Gochester in 1990: This real life real map which took huge amounts of work and effort for the city council to make shows Gochester as it was in 1990. It hadn't grown in 30 years and felt very much like a town of stagnation. Whilst nearby cities were in a new age of prosperity, Gochester still lingered in the cuts and rainy days of the 1970s. When people walked down the street, they did it with glum expressions and collars turned up against the weather. Old marked squares were carpeted over with parking lots and 60s concrete ruled the streets. The large industrial area to the east side of town was mainly silent (The smoke from the chimneys only from secret illegal grunge concerts held in the abandoned factory halls). All in all, Gochester was a pretty grimy place, and it was full of traffic jams to boot, though it seems only by trucks going from Rennville (it was close to the French border) to Carlsburg (Also pretty close to the German one), as residents themselves knew nothing was worth getting out of bed for. At this point there were 4 rock concerts underway. If nothing else, Gochestarian's love music.Indeed many bands from the 70s and 80s came from Gochester, using its drabness and an inspiration. If only we knew how they did it. This is central Gochester by night! The statue of death really goes a long way to represent what Gochester is like. Ahh finally a sunny day! In the midground of this photo you can see the rail lines leaving the massive Amity Square Station, a completely out sized Victorian behemoth built when the town was going somewhere. Most of the platforms are unused, but fortunately, unlike most of Gochester, they've been re-purposed. They're now used as a playground for the local kids, and some are also used by drug dealers! A view from the top of the dome in the early evening. Okay, maybe I was being a bit harsh on Gcchester, it has it's problems, but it can be quite beautiful.. maybe it has a future yet after all. though there are 2 fires burning in that last picture...

The texture dat file and lotting by @Simmer2 This is a historical recycle centre with a twist. It lowers the city's garbage production as 20 %, the same amount as the Maxis Recycle Center, but Steptoe & Son offers the recycling with much lower cost. However they are not up to modern health and safety standard and thus the lot is really an eyesore. Not only it pollutes the environment, but it has negative impact on the park effect and mayor's rating, not to mention that is a NIMBY building. There are three different sized lots and each of those have a slight garbage disposal capacity. Thus these lots can help your garbage problem. I have felt that SC4's Vanilla's Landfills have too inefficient and cost too much, so I have often used user created garbage facilities, such as Simpeg's garbage barge. My lots are intended for early and small cities to stop the garbage to accumulate. Simmer2 has been invaluable help to implement this idea and he has made custom lot texture, which really complement the lot. I have made the BAT building and most of the props are from splendid Historic Harbour. I am very pleased to see how the lot, the textures, the BAT and the props really complete each other. The 3x3 Scrap Yard lot has functional and pathed STR rail connection. Both passenger and freight trains can travel through the lot. This railtransit lot required NBVC's recycle center as a dependency. The BAT is HD and both Maxis Night and Dark Night versions are available. The building has a custom foundation and it can tolerate moderate slopes. Note on custom query. I have made custom queries for these lots and I have used correct Maxis data Ids. However there is an error on monthly garbage disposed information. It shows incorrect amount disposed and there seems to be a decimal error. When the query informs that 10 tons garbage was disposed, the actual amount is 1 ton. Please note when reading the query information. I don't have skills to correct this error as it seems to in the Maxis files. Caution: The file has only the SC4 Models and Desc. Lots are not included. There has been a few request so here is HD Maxis night version of the Clerkenwell Close building pack. All the models are converted to Maxis night option. Stats are same and all files have desc.sc4 included. The props and the Main buildings. However, as noted above, I have not included the lots. So this is only for those of you who are willing to do extra effort to make lots themselves or use my Dark Night lots as template.

Clerkenwell Close This is a HD DarkNite version. For those who want to see the game at its best. The Clerkenwell Close terrace row is based on a real building row at London’s Clerkenwell. This is a late Georgian townhouse, built around 1792-94. In my opinion quite typical of Georgian period townhouse in this part of London. Modest houses, but quite possibly intended for artisan / skilled worker family house. Something today we would call as the middle class, although back then there would have been servant’s rooms in the dormer. Often the townhouses were divided in to rented room lodgings and this in my mind, I have made the BATs as low wealth residence and commerce buildings. Originally this was a six house row, but today only two remain. Other four has been demolished in 1950’s to make room for nearby St James Church’s garden. Two of the houses were renovated by the Islington Council. Houses were in bad shape and most of the outer walls were rebuilt. I have based my model on 1956 drawing, although I have made some simplifications. Thus the modern houses are slight different, for example the roof is different shape now. The corner houses are fictional, just based on my imagination and only with style are companions for the terrace row. As it is difficult to grow right corner combination, I offer the corner commercial buildings as ploppable version. So that a player can finish the terrace row with matching corner building. I have also included custom foundations, but I would not call these buildings slope friendly. These are tolerant for slight elevation, but do not function well in hilly region. This is a large map of the southern half of north west England. There is enough space to build the whole of Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Blackpool, Warrington, rural Cheshire and the suburban sprawl which runs all over the place! The map is of a 1:1 size, so is very big, but fun. The only problems with it are the mountains to the north and east. Thats the Peak District National Park...but when lightening the map enough to be above the water level, the tops of the hills got 'clipped' - I couldn't find away around the. I have attached the greyscale imagine to this for anyone who is able to fix this. Also...You might see all the ponds/ small lakes near the coast. These aren't really there as its all marsh land which has been channelled. I decided to leave them in as this is meant to be a map of the area before it was build on and tamed.
  14. County Constabulary

This pack contains two similar office buildings. Architecture style is roughly based on late 18th century or early 19th century Britain. A historic, but quite anonymous civic building. The building is based on a Bilteezi railway model card kit. This has helped me to get dimensions right and I was able to use part of the texture from the model. However some artistic licence has been taken. County Constabulary is a functional small police station for rural cities. Its radius and dispatch strength are higher than Maxis equivalent, so it should cover a large area and be able deal crime in the farm fields. Because of this the monthly cost is also a slightly higher. Council Office is a medium wealth Commercial Office building. There are two lots, a 2x3 Stage 1 and a 2x2 Stage 2, so the building is useful for early city build. The lots are still kind of work in progress so feedback is appreciated. As for flora, I have used CP Mega Pack. Maxis Night only. UPDATE 11.3.2016* New Props EDIT: 1.11.2014. Attention. I keep doing mistakes. If now the missing prop the K6 Type PhoneBox Prop is included. Please again download the new file. This is a prop pack for Victorian and early 20th century British style street furniture. These props are intended to period use, but time scale is long. The props are based on real life examples and can be seen on British streets even today. Although many, such as village pump or cattle trough, are left as ornate and do not carry anymore the original function. I have made and included 23 props and 4 functional lots. 1 x Police box (Prop & Functional police kiosk) 1 x Village Pump (Prop & Functional water tower) 2 x Phone Boxes (K1 and K6 type) 1 x Drinking Fountain 6 x Mail Boxes 2 x Bollards 2 x Benches 2 x Litter Bins 2 x Cattle Troughs As for a bonus, three Irish colour variations. *Update March 2016 8 x Newspaper Headlines Boards 4 x Pub Sign Sandwhich Boards. 4 x Pub Benches. (These are intended as props for my forthcoming Clerkenwell Close building pack.) Items are grouped into separate folders and unwanted can be deleted. For example, the functional lots can be deleted as these are not dependencies. A replica of South Devon in the south of England. the map contains 6 x 6 Large cities (36 cities). Once the file is downloaded, extract the contents to your regions directory, as in place the folder "South-Devon" into your Region folder. Then start up the game load up South-Devon and then press " Control + Alt + Shift + R" then once the screen has popped up, navigate to the South-Devon.jpeg file in the regions --> South-Devon folder and then go make yourself a drink! Obviously the more RAM etc your computer has, the quicker the map shall render.

This is a huge region 60km x 104km. It is most of North Yorkshire and the southern bit of County Durham in England. Its a .SC4M file, but I have uploaded the greyscale image so you can see it before you render it. I tried to get a screen shot of the whole region but it wasn't letting me urgh.

Ho Ho Ho Simtropians, Merry Christmas. Today's map is courtesy of a request by Mtt9, thanks mate. It is of Cornwall and Devon in the southwest of England. It is a greyscale map and measures 210.944km x 152.576km. It is accurate in terrain and scale and was produced with dem and satellite data. A custom non-eroding height plugin is included. See me up CLOSE and personal. There are some caveats with a map of this size: 1. A 64bit operating system is needed. 2. SimCity 4 need to be patched with the 4GB patcher. 3. Not all cities can be scrolled to in game. If one is using a terrain mod the custom height plugin has to be pasted into a z folder or if using Gobias's terrain mod a zzzz folder in the Plugins Directory. This is a normal greyscale map. It renders in-game and will take some time, be patient it took 84 minutes on my 'puter (734 tile). It may take longer on yours. A readme is included with instructions. That I think is about all. Cheers, get drunk it's christmas.

Extra varieties of the police cars and vans I've made. There is a Norwegian (N), Swedish (S), British (GB) and a Belgian (B) version available. And offcourse the Dutch version which already was available and found in my earlier uploads. Replaces the Maxis police car and van. Installing the additional prop replacement file from dependency 2 will also change the static props of the police cars in game. These are reskins of Mikeseith's Volvo V70 and Swamper77's euro emergency van model. Dependencies: 1 http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=1626 for Swamper77 Automata essentials 2 And for the props: http://community.sim...omata-as-props/ You only need this file:'Was_NL_Police_Cars-sc4_police_car_ props_replacement.dat'. Installing: Make sure the following files are in your plugins folder (this example is for the Belgian modd); 'Was_B_Police_Van-sc4_police_van_replacement.dat' (in this zip) 'Was_B_V70_Police_Car-sc4_police_car_replacement.dat' (in this zip) 'SW77-AutomataEssentials_05022009.dat' (dependency 1) 'Was_NL_Police_Cars-sc4_police_car_ props_replacement.dat' (dependency 2, optional) Switch the first two files to the version you want. Only ONE car and ONE van is allowed, so make sure to install only one version of each. Can't find the the Swedish V70 or the British one? They're in here: http://community.sim...nglish-swedish/ Can't find the Dutch bus? It's here: http://community.sim...tch-police-van/ Note: for those interested in installing the Belgian ones: You are lucky and can choose between two different versions, the 'Was_B_...dat' or the 'Was_B_2_...dat' files. The B is for the local police version, the B_2 is for the federal police. You could also mix them, for example, one B V70 and one B_2 bus. Troubleshooting tips: 1 Make sure you got hardware rendering enabled in sc4 2 Make sure number of cars/sims is set to high 3 Make sure you don't have any other modds replacing the same automata (only copy the necessary files in an empty plugins folder, start a new city in an empty tile and plop some buildings around some roads that will spawn this automata) That's it, enjoy!
  20. Manchester, England

G'Day Simtropians, Today I wish to present a map of Manchester, Recently I was asked to make this map and a few days later informed my services were no longer needed. Oh well I had a map and it had no home, until now. Manchester was first settled sometime before 79AD when the Romans built a fort there. Since that time Manchester has never looked back. This is a real world map, produced with dem and satellite date. Wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer is required to import the .sc4m file into one's game. It is terrain and scale accurate. A readme is included detailing instructions and links and a picture. That's all I think. No there is something else, The map troll is not a troll, he is just a jealous and spiteful old man. Interestingly when he went on holidays last christmas, amazingly no ones were seen anywhere. I thought perhaps he'd lost his log in, until he showed up again and so did the ones! I was going to stop making maps after about 50 but then I thought if it craps him off so much I'll just keep going, Now I have more than 350 maps, Ha loser. Personally I don't like anonymous rating, if one is big enough to dish out crappy ones then one is big enough to stand up and give a reason. I think it is time for the Admins to out this person, high ranking, good standing, whatever, so be it. What with so much analytical software on websites these days it is not that difficult to track button clicks and log them, even my web site has some ;<). Cheers

Poole, England a map by: blunder Requested by: DocRorlach ------------- Installation: This map is in .sc4m format and requires either Terraformer or Mapper to import. 1. Navigate to your Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder and create a new folder with your desired region name 2. Copy+paste the config.bmp file into the folder you just created. 3. Open SC4TF, open the new region, import the .sc4m file, save and quit. 4. You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay. ------------- Description: Poole is a coastal city on the southern coast of england. This map is 24km x 24km and made from satellite data. The map is not quite true to reality; the river on the west side has been largely exaggerated. Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice. (I HIGHLY recommend using Lowkee's most excellent Appalachian Terrain Mod and shokthrpy's Brigantine 2.0 HD water and HD rock mods) For questions, comments, and requests please see my Map Thread over at simpeg.com Happy Gaming!

It's in .SC4M format and 16bits and requires one has either Wouanagaine;s mapper or terraformer installed to inport it. Links and instructions are included in the readme. (always free) I think that's all. Cheers

My first-ever map, so bear with me.. ;-) Finally, it's my turn to give something back to the community! Based on an atlas-screenshot, i drew new coastlines, created lakes, meandering rivers, sudden mountains and cliffs and tempting delta's. The config-file is drawn in such a way, that you will always have 'complete pieces' in your large city tile. For example: the river that's clefting the mountain-peaks in the west of the map, isn't spreaded over two or more tiles.. A big part is easy flatland, though - especially the Netherlands in the south-east of the map. Being Dutch myself, yes: I know the drawing isn't accurate, and our coastline isn't that rough.. ;-) Feedback VERY much appreciated - I'm slowly getting the hang of it, can't wait to create the next one! Easy install by using the SC4-mapper..!

G'Day Simtropians, Today I am presenting a map requested by Dannibee, thanks mate. It is of the coastal resort town of Bournemouth situated on the English Channel. This version is un-rotated. See me up CLOSE and personal. This is a real world map and was produced with dem and satellite data. It is terrain and scale accurate and measures 49.152km x 40.96km. It's in .SC4M format and 16bits and requires one has either Wouanagaine;s mapper or terraformer installed to inport it. Links and instructions are included in the readme. It measures 53.248km x 45.056km and utilises 16bit mapping technology. Being in .SC4M format requires one to have Wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer installed to import it into one's game. Links and instructions are in the updated readme. I think thats all. Cheers
