This is a set of growable low density residential lots for SHK Villas, and 3 CS$ low density growable lots. I found SHK Villas a nice Italian/Mediterranian style houses addition to the game, but unfortunately the autor (shokthrpy) only looted them as eyecandy lots. That's usefull for a MMP scenario but not for a growable city. Back in 2013 I decided to lot a growable package for my cities but never uploaded the pack. I think it's time to upload them. The set includes 20 residential lots combining different sizes (1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 2x2 and 2x3), and 3 CS$ lots (1x1 and 1x2) Low Density Residential Building style: Euro (In the future I want to change it to Mediterranean style or whatever when the new building styles will be fully implemented) R$ - 6 Lots R$$ - 12 Lots R$$$ - 2 Lots Dependencies: SHK Villas (For Models) Nams PROPS PACK Vol 1.dat Nams PROPS PACK Vol 2.dat BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01.dat BSC MEGA Props - Misc Vol02.dat BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01.dat BSC Mega Props - CP Vol02.dat All 4 BSC MEGA Props Included in: BSC Common Dependencies Pack Hope you enjoy!
  2. Hello Community, From time to time I design building models for later use in CG renders. For this purpose, I'm using Blender and usually export my creations as .obj files, complete with texture groups for walls, roofs etc. I would like to ask if any BATers would be interested in using my models, free of charge, to create new content for our beloved game. All I need to know is what technical requirements any such .objs need in order to be BAT-convertible (number of polygons, size in meters?). Let me know if you are interested and if these types of files are of any use to you.

Functional Cul-de-sacs, MAXIS Sidewalks VOL1, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Ever since SimCity 4 was released, suburban cul-de-sacs have been problematic. The base game just terminated streets with a little yellow and black barrier, until quirlix made the cul de sac textures that formed the basis of the way the NAM terminates dead end streets. There are other mods, like the larger cul-de-sac mod, by Marsh, but this also overrides the street roundabout textures and all such mods are typically both an over-ride and a blunt instrument that has an "all or nothing" type set up. Don't get me wrong, each of these mods is fantastic and I use them, and love them. But one thing the mods cannot do is unify the street trees along the length of the cul-de-sac, nor can they get the arrangement of houses to align around the cul-de-sac end. That is where this download is useful. --------------------------------------- WHAT THIS DOWNLOAD DOES: This download provides functional cul-de-sacs and is for users who have the MAXIS sidewalks (ie those who do not use a sidewalk over-ride mod). A set of near-identical lots for those who use side-walk over-ride mods is available separately. This download provides ten new growable lots of a 5x8 size. Each of the lots is network enabled to connect seamlessly to the surrounding streets and roads. Each lot is restricted to grow ONLY on low-density zoning and will not grow on medium or high density zones. Each lot has a different arrangement of medium wealth houses and a uniformity of street trees. The streets are named after the tree which grows on them. Each lot is restricted to one (or more) of the four tilesets giving you control over what grows where. Apart from the tileset, all of the lots have identical stats meaning that the game will not favour one type over the other. The population numbers of the lots conform roughly to Maxis' low-density formulae of approximately 12-20 residents per house. These lots cannot accidentally grow; you must use the CTRL key while zoning. The lots and tilesets are grouped into styles: Gascooker's UK suburban series; CP's 19th Century American suburban series and my predominantly 20th Century suburban houses with attached garages. --------------------------------------- HOW TO USE THIS DOWNLOAD: There is nothing especially tricky to get this to work. Just make sure you have the dependencies, unzip and install to your plugins and then use the CTRL key while zoning low density residential to get a lot that is 5 tiles wide and 8 tiles deep. Then, depending on what tileset you have selected, the lots will start to appear and will all be connected to the broader network. --------------------------------------- WHAT THIS DOWNLOAD DOES NOT DO: This is not a mod, so it will not alter the standard street ends that either come with the base game, are installed with the NAM or are installed with any other cul-de-sac mod. This will not interfere with, nor conform to, SAM street types. The standard light grey street texture is what each of these lots will grow with. --------------------------------------- IMPORTANT NOTES - READ!!!!!: With anything new, it is important to spell out a few caveats: * Because these lots are network enabled, these lots will never upgrade. I recommend using them in conjunction with standard zoning to achieve vibrant, realistic suburbs that are sustainable and the standard lot sizes can upgrade as your city grows. * Because these lots are network enabled, if they abandon, they will not recover: you will need to first correct the issues that caused abandonment (crime, jobs, commute, demand),then bulldoze the lot and let a new one grow. * I have chosen the 5x8 lot size deliberately to be a unique lot size that doesn't compete with other custom lots, but if you have other 5x8 low-density medium wealth residential lots in your plugins, they may grow instead of these. * I have chosen the 5x8 lot size deliberately to ensure that the network enabling doesn't interfere with the NAM drag patterns for creating curves, fractional angles and so on. My testing so far has indicated that this is unlikely to happen, however, in certain situations and placements you may find that the game attempts to draw FAR or curved streets. In the highly unlikely event event that it occurs, it's not a big deal, just bulldoze the surrounding streets to alter the pattern. Each of the folders is descriptively labelled. If, say, you only want UK style houses, then delete the other two folders, and so forth... --------------------------------------- Like all of my work, these are suited to both CAM and non CAM cities alike. Stats below. --------------------------------------- STATS R$$ CP 19TH CENTURY HOMES (Cottonwood Close, Dogwood Place, Magnolia Way): Lot size : 5x8 Growth Stage: 1 (Low Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: $600 Capacity Satisfied: R$ 320, R$$ 180 Pollution: 8 (Air)/ 3 (Water)/ 16 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 12 Mwh Water Consumed: 20 Gal/Month Building Style: Chicago Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Residential Building STATS R$$ GASCOOKER UK HOMES (Chestnut Grove, Hackberry Rise): Lot size : 5x8 Growth Stage: 1 (Low Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: $600 Capacity Satisfied:R$ 320, R$$ 180 Pollution: 8 (Air)/ 3 (Water)/ 16 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 12 Mwh Water Consumed: 20 Gal/Month Building Style: Euro Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Residential Building STATS R$$ MATTB325 20TH CENTURY HOMES (Sycamore Lane, Hickory Close, Oak Close, Maple Court, Elm Place): Lot size : 5x8 Growth Stage: 1 (Low Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: $600 Capacity Satisfied: R$ 320, R$$ 180 Pollution: 8 (Air)/ 3 (Water)/ 16 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 12 Mwh Water Consumed: 20 Gal/Month Building Style: New York, Houston Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Residential Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This file contains a series of lots only. However, some of the dependencies will require you to select either a maxis nite version or a dark nite version. If you use the dark nite models, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: To ensure proper functionality, make sure the following files are in your plugins. 4. SPAM Commerical - CS$

For those of you following my 'glorious' return - (sorry loaned that word from @Krio) - will know that I have been tinkering in LE again, and have whipped up a set of SPAM commercial CS$ growable lots. Here are some of the nicer images from the various testing environments during development.
  5. Hi there. My city has a lot of low residential suburbs. But even low residential, houses end up being not high, but quite large buildings with several households (3-4) living in them. I tried zoning single squares, or 2x2, but this also resulted in either big houses, or they turned into ugly blocky apartment blocks, with very little variety. between them. I'd like to create a suburbia with single-family homes like in SimCity 4, what's the best way to do that?

My first buildings made in the BAT for SimCity 3000. Enclosed are three 1x1s, one for each zone type. Residential: Surgey Household A small 1x1 Japanese-ish 1-2 person house. No yard. Commercial: Darcy Antiques A quaint antique store in a run-down concrete block of a building. Three parking spots. Industrial: Longway Chemical Solutions A small chemical (local pool chlorine supplier or what you wish it to be!) plant that holds and delivers barrels and containers of chemicals. That's the gist of it, further info including in the Readme. Any critiques or comments appreciated!

    Version 1.0

    995 Downloads

Brief Introduction This pack contains five models based on real life houses found throughout Santiago, Chile. I've included a variety of different architectural styles corresponding to different decades. Basic Information - Lot sizes: 1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 1x3. - Stages: 1, 2, 3 and 4. - Tileset: all - Standard Maxis Nightlights. Dependencies More than one dependency this time. Please note that you have to be registered in order to download the files at the LEX (I guess most of you already are). BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 -- really popular, most of you should already have this. BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 02 -- again, quite popular. LBT Mega Prop Pack vol.01 -- same as the last two. Also, you should already have this if you've downloaded my previous files. Romualdillo Props VOL01 -- this should be the only dependency that you probably don't have yet. I also suggest checking out Romualdillo's incredibly detailed and superb spanish houses here. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!
  9. R$$ Mini Pack Santiaguino 1

    Version 1.0

    1,420 Downloads

Brief Introduction This mini pack consists of medium wealth homes based on real life houses located in the traditional commune of Providencia in Santiago, Chile. These house were designed to fit in a W2W urban environment, just like in real life. Basic information - Lot sizes: 1x2 (corner), 1x1 (corner), 2x2 and 2x1. - Stages: 2, 3 and 4. - Tileset: all. Dependencies - Only one (which I'll stick to for future projects): Note I've included several versions for the corner house (last model in the pictures), so that you can choose which one to delete, if any. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado AMARILLO CALAMINA - Yellow version with tin roof. Like in real life. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado AMARILLO TEJAS - Yellow version with roof tiles. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado BLANCO CALAMINA - White version with tin roof. Like in real life. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado BLANCO TEJAS - White version with roof tiles. Furthermore, I've included R$$$ versions since in real life the house is located in the commune of Providencia, home to upper middle income and high income families. The meaning of the R$$$ versions is the same as above. If you feel like these houses don't look like R$$$ homes, then simply delete the "R$$$..." folders. I recommend you to abstain from deleting the "R$$..." folders since they contain the sc4model files. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!

I present to you my 2nd pack, this time the CS$ Pack Santiaguino 1. This pack consists of CS$ buildings inspired by real life buildings throughout Santiago, Chile. INFORMATION - Lot sizes: 1x1 and 1x2 - Density: Low density (4 lots) and medium density (1 lot) - No dependencies (props are included) Enjoy!
  11. R$ Pack Santiaguino 1

    Version 1.0.2

    1,392 Downloads

I present to you my first housing pack based on various old buildings throughout Santiago, Chile. These are all low-wealth, low density residential w2w houses. They grow on 1x1 and 1x2 lots. There are a total of 34 unique lots, as you can see in the pictures. If you like these houses, you may also like my other BATs that I'm currently working on. You can check them out here. If you have any questions, or comments, please let me know! Edit: I noticed I used an old picture for the primary screenshot. The textures on the last picture for the last set of houses are the final version, not the ones on the main picture. This is the only slight difference. Edit 2: ...I also noticed that I've uploaded this file to the wrong category. It should fall under "SimCity 4 Buildings (BATs)".
  12. Small Town USA

I mixed Attercap's American 1900 buildings with Feindbild's Brooklyn theme and a few civic buildings to create a small town center. I also cloned the level 2 Attercap buildings with Boformer's excellent building themes mod to level 1 for variety. Very happy with the result!
  13. Agriculture is Coming.

You must admit these look like farms. I made this using All RCIHC Plop and Project Akar. I just wanted to show people how to make Urban Suburban Farms. Try to experiment with the aesthetics of the game to create things like this! I want to see someone else make something better than this. (I know it's possible.) This was a bit of a joke, but be sure to check out for more agriculture goodness!

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As boredom dawned on me, I thought I'd make this quickie BAT within the day and release it on the STEX. It'd probably surprise you that I even made something as regular as this. It appears to be my first generic building, low density, W2W corner office with a contemporary, simplistic design to its façade. Out back, is plain rugged and cold concrete wall. With the name stated, it's obvious that I dubbed this building after me, just something I wanted to do as a release on the STEX. This BAT has been released in hopes that it plagues your towns and cities and spreads the name Huston in each and every bloc-- I mean, to do business, be leading in innovative tech and serve as a branch for small town districts. It also smells nice and has bright red lights. Yep. Just another ordinary building. This BAT is available in both Maxis-nite and Darknite. It comes with two files for each night setting. Only one file should be use at a time, relative to your preferred night setting. Since I don't normally make Maxis-nite models, I had the preview separated since I almost forgot to include them: In-game Demonstration _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Basic Lot Information: Lot Size - 2x2 Type - Commercial Office Wealth - CO$$$ Jobs Provided [Maxis-default] - 15 Growth Stage - 1 (low density) City Style - Chicago [i lotted it over a Chicago Tile, not because it's tailored to Chicago] Dependencies SimFox Day and Nite Modd [Optional] BSC - VIP girafe bushes [Optional] Installation Unzip all contained files into your SC4 plugins folder. When organizing the files, preferably put all folders and files contained in the zip file in a common folder [labelled to said author/group/project label ie.TRP or The Random Project in this case] to avoid future confusion. Author's Note **When releasing a lot of which includes this or any The Random Project BATs (an exception for TRP Prop models), contact me for permission before releasing the lots.** _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I am leaving the original files here just for legacy purposes (in case people want to re-build plugins or just happen to want the original) but I strongly suggest you get the updated version here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3678 As you can see, the new version is much nicer than the original screenshots.

Avenue Sidewalk Texture Mod AKA: Uni-Density Avenue Mod By: Swamper77 Description: This mod replaces all of the avenue textures that appear low density zones and park areas. The sidewalks will appear like the ones in your medium and high density zones. I have also redone some of the textures that are used in the NAM, mainly the one-way road to avenue transition textures. UPDATE: 11/12/04: Due to the "Uni-Density Avenues.dat" overriding the game's original textures, the overpasses and interchanges of highways and avenues looked odd. I have gone through all of the avenue interchanges and repaired them. The repair file is listed as "AveHwyInterFixes.dat" Installation: Place the "Uni-Density Avenues.dat" file and the "AveHwyInterFixes.dat" file in your MyDocs\SimCity 4\Plugins folder. Uninstallation: Delete the "Uni-Density Avenues.dat" file and the "AveHwyInterFixes.dat" file from your MyDocs\SimCity 4\Plugins folder. Enjoy!
