4x4 Lot The Piazza del Duomo is the main square of the city of Catania. It takes its name from the Duomo di Catania or Cathedral of Saint Agatha which stands on the east side of the square. It was originally constructed in 1078-1093, on the ruins of the ancient Roman Achillean Baths. Access to the baths is by a short staircase left of the Cathedral. After an earthquake in 1693, Giovanni Battista Vaccarini designed a new Baroque façade in 1711. Three streets enter the square: the via Etnea, the historical city axis; the via Giuseppe Garibaldi, and the via Vittorio Emanuele II that crosses it from east to west. On the eastern side of the square stands the Duomo, dedicated to Saint Agatha, patron saint of the city, whose feast is celebrated on 5 February. On the north side is the palazzo degli Elefanti or the Town Hall. In front of this building stands a fountain designed by Vaccarini, consisting of an obelisk on the back of the elephant u Liotru, the (symbol of Catania). On the other side of the square, there is the Amenano fountain, in front of the Palazzo dei Chierici. Between the Palazzo dei Chierici and the Cathedral is the Porta Uzeda. From the terraces you can admire two splendid panoramas: on one side, the spectacle of Piazza del Duomo in Catania with the Elephant fountain and Via Etnea with Mount Etna in the background; on the other, the walls of Charles V, the port of Catania with the arches of the Marina up to the Ursino castle. The door of Charles V is part of the only remaining part of the city walls. Access to the baths by accessing the Diocesan Museum of Catania: a barrel-vaulted corridor built into the gap between the Roman structures and the foundations of the cathedral (whose access consists of a short flight of steps at different times to the left of the façade) allows to take a trip into the bowels of the city, where the Amenano river flows, whose waters rise to the surface in the nearby Amenano fountain in the square in front. The name of the plant is deduced from an inscription on a marble slab of the Lunense area reduced to six very fragmented main fragments, probably dating back to the first half of the 5th century, now exhibited in the Civic Museum at Castello Ursino.
  9. Modular Plaza System (MPS)

From the album Modular Complexes (S3-15-C)

Before voting, we recommend you download and try out this item of content: [Download Here] There are some plaza plugins out there on the STEX, even a few modular ones, but with this set, I'm aiming at creating a fully comprehensive modular system of plazas which have a variety of different functions, are easy to combine, and allow adjustment of textures. This plugin contains a good number of modular lots that will allow you to create your custom plaza, sidewalk, or seawall. Fountains, ponds, benches, seawalls, market stalls, trees – nearly everything is available, I’ll leave it to your experimenting pleasure to find out. Most of them are purely decorational (while having park and landmark effect), only the market stalls will yield a bit money. All lots have been designed in a way that they are rather simple, thereby being able to be combined with each other easily. All lots can be found in the park menu, just below the default Maxis parks. By default, all lots will use the standard Maxis white pavement texture, however, I’ve included some texture override files that will allow you to customize this plugin in a way that all lots will change their textures. Mainly included are textures fitting with the PedMall puzzle pieces from the NAM, but since I’ve seen many users using plugins that override the PedMall textures, I’ve also included a few extra overrides.

Mainly included are textures fitting with the PedMall puzzle pieces from the NAM, but since I’ve seen many users using plugins that override the PedMall textures, I’ve also included a few extra overrides. Note: There has been a last-minute change to this plugin that isn't reflected in the screenshots above: I had to remove all the people lurking around on the lots because their immense amount looked horrible, and I couldn't find a way to randomize their appearance. Please make sure to read the included readme carefully, since you can't just install this plugin and play - due to the texture overrides, you need to customize it first. Available languages: English, German Dependencies: Please refer to the Readme for information about what the dependencies do. Unfortunately, this time you get a good load of dependencies, fortunately, however, most of them are candidates I'm using frequently, anyway, or just dependency packages that do nothing except adding props/textures and won't flood you with a lot of lots that will fill your menues quickly. Exception: I've had to use one file from the Historic Harbor plugin, which comes with many lots. You only need one file from there (see below). Important: If you have downloaded and installed this before June 16th, 2020, please look for the file MPS Textures.dat and remove it. It has become obsolete with the release of the 11241036 Textures. This means that users that are using it will find the MPS lots in their own submenu, which is further divided into 7 submenus (see below). Users not using the Submenus DLL mod will simply find the MPS lots in the park menu, somewhere in the center. Please read the installation instructions below to avoid problems like missing lot icons. The submenu button looks like this (only one out of the four circles is visible at a time): Included Files: MPS Core Files.dat (mandatory): Contains all lots for the Modular Plaza System, along with their descriptions and icons. Seawall Connection Lots.dat (optional): 4 lots that can be used on slopes to connect ground traffic routes to the overpass puzzle pieces from the NAM and thereby blending them in with the seawall system you get with this download. You can, of course, as well do this with the NAM’s default hillside transition pieces, but they won’t fit into the seawalls, visually. z_(Name).dat (all optional): A total of 12 additional files that you can choose form that will override your existing MPS lots to give them different base textures. Keep only one of them, or just remove them all if you want to play with the base Maxis white pavement texture (see installation instructions below). MPS_Submenu Park.dat, MPS_Submenu Plazas.dat (mandatory when using memo‘s Submenus DLL mod): contains the submenu entry files for the MPS lots. Only use one of these two files. Installation: Step 1: Please move or copy all existing files (except the Readme files) into the Plugins folder of your edition of SimCity 4. Step 2: Choose one texture override. These texture overrides are located one each in all files starting with z_. To apply one, remove all other texture override. To play with the default Maxis White Pavement, remove all texture overrides. You may want to look into the folder “Screenshots Texture Overrides“ to find out how they will look in-game. You can at any time switch to another texture system by replacing the existing texture override file with another one, in-game, the textures will adapt automatically. Step 3: To make the submenu buttons appear correctly, install either the file MPS_Submenu Parks.dat or the file MPS_Submenu Plazas.dat (only one out of these two files). The first file moves the MPS submenu simply into the Park menu, the latter one into memo’s Plaza submenu. Uninstalling: To uninstall this plugin, please bulldoze all MPS lots in your cities and then remove all MPS files from your Plugins folder. Compatibility: Since this plugin requires installation of the NAM, it is only compatible with SimCity 4: Rush Hour or SimCity 4 Deluxe. Support: Please feel free to post issues, bug reports, and suggestions in this thread:
  11. Mayor's Square

From the album Parks and Plazas (S3-11-C)

Before voting, we recommend you download and try out this item of content: [Download Here] And again, there's a challenge entry from me... Why being limited to either trees, statues, OR fountains whenever you can have all three? I've been impressed by a particular square layout seen on the challenge thread about the Parks and Plazas theme with a plaza containing a lot of trees on it, therefore, I designed a part of this lot in this way.
  12. Version 1.0

Description: Mainly created for the center of a large or medium-sized city, this square is supposed to honor the mayor and his wife/her husband (or any other famous personality, for that matter). Two statues (one male, one female) are located in its center, surrounded by trees on one side and fountains on the other. Of course, common accessoires, like a refreshment stand and a news stand, cannot be lacking there. For further information, please refer to the readme in the download. To uninstall, just remove it after bulldozing all instances of this plugin. Compatibility: This plugin should be compatible with all versions of SimCity 4. If not, please notify me. 13. Main Market Square, Cracow

From the album Realistic Recreation (S3-08-M)

40.000m2 (430.000ft2) square meters of urban space in the heart of european city? Yes! Welcome to Poland, welcome to Cracow! This realistic recreation is inspired by the biggest medieval market square in Europe. More about Main Square: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Square,_Kraków Before you'll vote I recomend to take a look on this picture for small comparison. How many landmarks are you able to recognize?
  14. By default, Simtropolis uses Round Avatars as of July 2015. While the Round Army may have won the battle when Simtropolis voted, I have a solution for those of you who want square avatars. I have tweaked the CSS code for a modern, sleek square design with smooth edges. I did this to address concerns that the round avatar style cropped too much while addressing the want for a modern look. This is available for Firefox and Chrome users only. Internet Explorer worshippers can weep in a corner. 15. Square Island

    Version 1.0.0 (A)

    1,331 Downloads

Greetings all. This is my first upload to the Simtropolis community, and I hope despite the bad quality, you can find some enjoyment out of my creation. -------------------------------------------- As you can see by the title, this map is basically a big square that fits (sort of) into a 1x1 tile in the game (an area of 2km squared in the game). It technically isn't a square, since I have modified a small area north of the highway entrance of the city to be able to fit water and sewage pumps, so it's playable in the one tile, but that doesn't really matter, and also to get the highway and railway down to ground level, and have them enter at 90 degrees to the tile border, I have made a slight outcrop into another square. Unfortunately, I suck at making things. A lot. And this map is just one example. The edges aren't very straight, and venture very slightly outside the 1x1 tile this map is supposed to cover; this will be fixed in the future. Also, since I made this in about 5 minutes or so, it isn't very realistic (not in the sense that this island can't exist in the real life, which it can't); the sea floor is set to 60, sea level to 65, and land height is 70, so forgive me if you get annoyed by the sea floor being visible, I will fix this in a newer version. Also, there may be a few dents in the island, since I didn't bother properly smoothing it out. Also, you may be wondering what the (A) in the version number stands for. Well, there are going to be at least 2 versions of this map. Version A is playable normally (in theory), with all connections available, and everything is buildable in the one grid square. The second version, the B version, will not have any road connections, and therefore is impossible to start your city in without mods. I am also thinking of making a C version, with resources available, subject to user interest. Installation: Place the .crp file in C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps I hope you find some enjoyment from my map. Cheers, ApexDriver
  16. Hey everyone! So I've been trying my hand at modelling buildings lately, and things were going great until I realized that I could reduce my building's UV mapping from 2048x2048 to 2048x1024 without impacting the texture quality too much. Unfortunately, I didn't make this realization until I was nearly done with the texturing. An hour of hair pulling later, here's my current situation: ^ The original, before I started messing with it. ^ Now. I can't seem to figure out a way to crop the UV map from 1:1 to 2:1 without the faces automatically scaling to 2:1 as well. I'd very much like it not to alter the dimensions of everything because I don't want to start over when I'm this far in. I know how to visually fix the issue (by leaving the UV map at 2048x2048 and dragging the image to fit) but that kinda defeats the purpose of scaling it. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any ideas / tips / solutions? That would help a lot. Thanks!

  18. I have played Simcity 4 for quite some time now, and have a 2 gb folder full of mods. But the thing I miss the most is actually a terrarforming tool, for use with for example CDK3 docks and seawalls. So hereby I request a experienced mod maker to provide those of us that crave for such a tool. To create it and share it with the community. Special point of interest, I know about the Simpeg leveling tool. I have used it and still use it, but it won't work with water for things as docks.
