This is a set of 126 renewed growable lots using Dusktrooper Buildings. There is a CAM and Maxis Stages version of the lots (nonCAM). Use only one set of lots! Please consult the screenshots to see the details of the renewed lots. All the lots have seasonal flora and many are oversized. A bunch of Dusktrooper's buildings are sorted into families. This content has also been restored, meaning many of the lots will always have buildings of different colors. CAMelots go up to stage 15. I really like the concept of @pclark06's Regional Distribution Centers, but unfortunately they come as landmarks without jobs. This is a bit annoying, because they take up a lot of space in your industrial districts and hence you lose valuable land with no jobs. To solve this, I created this mod which gives all of the regional distribution centers 320 I-M jobs. I did not modify the original lots, but instead created an entirely new set, so if you have already used the original landmark versions in your city, they will remain unaltered. Dependencies Obviously this mod needs the original distribution centers as dependency: pclark06:regional-distribution-centers-a-j pclark06:regional-distribution-centers-k-z pclark06:regional-distribution-centers-retail-1 You also need all dependencies of the original files, so do yourself a favor and install this mod with sc4pac, which handles all of the dependencies for you. If you don't plan to use the landmark versions and you haven't already used them in your cities, you can get rid of the /Lots folders in the original distribution centers, but YOU MUST keep the /Buildings and /Props folders, otherwise you will get brown boxes. Submenu support The new lots will, just like the original ones, appear in the landmarks menu, but again, do yourself a favor and use this with memo's Submenus DLL, after which both the I-M lots and the original ones will appear in the I-M submenu. Acknowledgements Many thanks go to @pclark06 for making the fantastic original lots. -

Where else are you going to keep your sprockets, widgets, and cogs? This volume is a collection of 1x1 BATs in the out subset of I-d buildings in the game, helping to keep your inventory safe and snug before it's loaded onto the truck and shipped to farflung places, all while earning a few bucks from a bit of your Sims' sweat and hard labor. Plus, they add a bit of variety to your grimey industrial sectors (as well as a place to store 1983's carbon-copy paper receipts that your accountant is so desperate to keep.) Enjoy!- 1 Comment

Filtering fluid, separating sludge, and conveying all manner of waste, glop, and gooey goop, here is a collection of twelve different 1x1 "buildings" which were created to add some variety to your necessary (though cough-inducing) industrial areas. This pack is selection of BATs (primarily waste and collection tanks) under the game's mechanical subset of I-d buildings. Often industrial areas can appear rather repetitious, so these should give a bit of variation, even at the expense of air and water quality. Hope you can see past the steam and smoke enough to enjoy them!- 2 Reviews

This building along with a few of the adjoining buildings once housed a few different food and beverage distributors in Portland, Oregon for many years. The building is now known as North Coast Seed Studios, the outside of which has looked the same for decades, probably because the majority of paint used is now on the art they create inside. I kept this one as an industrial lot since it had a great vintage industrial look to it. Also had to improvise the 'back' side of the building since Portland loves to have industrial buildings in big clusters and this one is up against another building. Thanks to @sejr99999 for testing these one out.- 3 Reviews

Mass jobless/abandonment/new build cycle in CAM 2.5 region: help!
andrewbrown posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hi there all! I recently re-downloaded SimCity 4 and am playing a new region using CAM 2.5. I'm currently having an issue I'd like help with, which is that there is a massive jobless/abandonment/new build cycle, alongside virtually limitless residential demand. I've read the CAM manual, tried to understand the Census Repository, and any other number of resources. I tried to attach a screenshot of my census repository stats, but there were sadly error messages stopping me. Some observations, some possibly unrelated: 1. There is no current regional commercial or industrial demand, despite maximum residential demand (72,000). 2. This seems to affect all three R$ levels. 3. I don't seem to be hitting any demand caps, in this or any other city tile. 4. I have tiles where I-D and I-M are taxed at regular rates directly connecting to the tiles where they're discouraged. 5. Very few industrial buildings show worker commute trips in route query, only Freight Truck/Train. This seems to affect all industries, but especially I-HT. (Could be an NAM traffic simulator thing?) 6. I haven't really built any Agriculture. Some things I've done to try and fix the issue, with no success: 1. Eradicated R$$$ from the non-downtown tiles to try and change the regional ratios of residential income. 2. Built an adjoining tile of all R$ with new I-D. It also gets jobless zots. 3. Detached the "circular" neighbor transportation connections to try and stop the endless commuter cycle (power and water remain). 4. Evened out taxes in every tile. One line item in the census repository that confuses me is R$$$: in the downtown square, it has 117k pop, 55k drives, and 37k demand. What on earth does the huge difference in the pop/drive numbers mean, and why would demand still be so high if R$$$ is...twice as populous as it can accommodate? How would I "fix" that when there's no demand for the kind of jobs R$$$ would fill? Is this some version of the I-HT Industry bug? Does the lack of Agriculture eventually just torpedo your city? Do I just need to build way more housing of every kind and hope that balances things and despite the fact that joblessness is still a huge issue? Do I need to build more areas with less residential amenities so richer sims won't try to move in and immediately not have jobs? Is this because I have assets that aren't CAM-patible and I need to go back through and delete any that aren't? Thank you for any direction you might have. I've tried everything I can think of, and I'm at my wit's end here. Has anyone else had this issue?- 3 Replies

South Tyrell: Industrial Crossroads
ncamferdam posted a City Journal entry in Tyrell: Gateway to the Pacific
Hello again, and welcome back to our continuing tour of the City of Tyrell. Today we're going to finally leave the port area and enter the city proper, getting our first look at how the citizens of Tyrell live and work. We'll be sticking to the south bank of the Neskowin River, exploring the industrial parks and poorer neighborhoods which have sprung up over the decades, drawn to the ceaseless economic activity of the southern port terminals. These districts are not exactly old, but have seen relatively little redevelopment since the first waves of construction spread across area in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. As such, these neighborhoods are still dominated by the mid-century brickwork of factories and warehouses, with only the odd hi-tech start-up and re-purposed residential loft breaking the sightline. We'll start in the far south, across the fence from the container yards we visited last entry. Far from any home or office building, this borough hosts only the heaviest (and dirtiest) industry in the city, and serves as the final destination for much of the raw material imports rolling off the nearby docks. Crossing over highway 110, large-scale manufacturing gives way to large-scale logistics and distribution. We're now in the true industrial heartland of Tyrell, downstream of all the port infrastructure we spent so much time exploring. In addition to enormous warehouses and shipping depots, smaller-scale manufacturing concerns and industrial services can be found, which eventually bleed over into our first mixed use and residential neighborhoods in the north. Further inland, the local freight branches of the rail network intersect with the regional train corridor. Crossing to the other side, we begin to see the first signs of redevelopment, with modern hi-tech industry arriving in the last two decades. Clean energy startups in particular have made a home here. Next we move north to the most prominent feature of South Tyrell's skyline: the Mario M. Koeberg Nuclear Power Station. This facility, one of the largest single employers in the city, provides power not just for Tyrell proper, but for much of the broader metropolitan area and satellite communities further afield. First commissioned in 1971 with one reactor, the plant has expanded over the years to its current, 2002-built configuration, boasting four operational reactors and eight underground turbine rooms. Water is provided by a series of pumps, drawing directly from an artificial inlet running between port terminals A and B. The power station has had to expand so much to meet the growing energy demands of Tyrell, that highway 110 had to be rerouted to make way for its current footprint. Electricity generated by the plant powers much of the region further south along the coast. Continuing beyond the Koeberg Station, we come to one of the original neighborhoods of the industrial district. This still consists largely of smaller service shops and family-owned businesses, with some buildings being slowly converted into studio lofts. Finally, we arrive at the neighborhoods around the mouth of the Neskowin River. This is a lower-income neighborhood, built amongst and adjacent to contemporary industrial buildings. Highlights include the Riverwalk, a pedestrian loop around the lower reaches of the Neskowin and one of the oldest public spaces in the city; and Commerce Street Station, the second largest rail terminal in Tyrell and the main gateway for industrial workers arriving from out of town. We'll see much of Commerce Street today, but the rest of the Riverwalk will have to wait for a later entry. Looming above Commerce Street Station is the Florence Autobody Assembly Plant, one of the largest of its kind in Simnation. We'll conclude here for now, back near the mouth of the Neskowin and the busy harbor. However, we're not quite done with Tyrell's industrial development. Next time, we'll look at some of the newest and most advanced manufacturing installations in the country. We'll also get an idea of what the landscape used to look like before those installations came to town, by travelling all the way to the edge of the city and the hills and forests beyond. Next entry will be a combination of hi-tech commerce and rustic R&R. See you then.- 4 Comments
