Hi all! i am confident enough to say i have mastered (cof cof)most of the transportation issues in cities skylines, however i am getting close to 0 users in the lines leading to industrial and office areas from residential. i dont mix specializations, i use metro and blimps to connect them, and if residential--comercial have huge use, i dont get any transportations in residential---industrial and residential----business, what seems to me "not cities skylines logic". I would like to read some of your experiences about it. Thanks José Nunes

  6. This morning the city again was crowded with delievery vans, double parked blocking all the traffic from people going for shopping for the weekend. I understand - what all the people carry away from the stores in the city someone has to bring in there so all this delievery vans are needed. But why they invented underground for the people but never for the goods? I imagine - a tube passing underneath the stores, they would stop, an elevetor would bring up the goods and they were inside the store by vertical way not interfering with the horizontal paths of the clients/consumers wouldn't this be much more elegant? The water supplies, the parking, the heating - everything they can, they put underground. Why not merchandise traffic?

Since those files are no longer available, they have been recovered here on the STEX, so people can continue to download them. This package is designed so you can place transport networks under the in-game bridges. To do this these lots use Car --> Subway or Rail --> Subway transit switches. As such, there are some limitations when using them. For road networks, only car traffic is able to use them and for the rail network, only passenger traffic will continue through these lots. Two sets are included, the actual underbridge pieces in addition to filler lots. This will enable these to span larger gaps where necessary. After plopping these pieces, they must be connected using the Subway tool between each converter lot. DEPENDENCIES BSC Textures Vol03 Note: the readme states "BSC Texture Pack jeroni Vol01", but this file has been merged into the Texture Megapack linked here.

This package includes a single lot that allows you to transition from the G-HSR (Ground High Speed Rail) of the NAM (Network Addon Mod) to the Subway network. It costs $400 to plop and can be found in the Misc Transport menu. DEPENDENCIES The model used is part of the NAM, which can be considered a dependency for this lot. Similarly you need to have installed it's HSR plugin to make use of it.

    Hartford Valley International Airport ! Finaly I can present to you a real live airport ! Hartford Mayon Airport as initialy know was inaugerated in early 30th´s of the last century ! A North-South runway was created at the west of Hartford Valley town, with a small later resized terminal. Air cargo aswell was started due north ! The 1950´s so a rapid rise of air travel, the terminal wasn´t big enough to handle the new traffic so a plan was made to create a complete new terminal south east of the present and addition of another longer runway to handle those big jets ! Initial plan consicted of a central core and some wings spreading away from it ! Later the Terminal D wing was extended to it´s present size in the 70´s ! Gate shortage in the 80´s and 90`s resulted in a extension of the Terminal C and D wings ! With this development aswell a mini subway was created so pasenger could have a better transfer transport ! Some pictures of the airport in detail ! Main Terminal ! Terminal C Terminal D ! Catering department ! Meals and beverages are brought here for distribution to the airport ! Freigth terminal, still in development ! Airport Control Tower ! Located at the junction of the three runway´s it has a wide view of the airport. Digital location and communication equipment has take over much ! Some parking zones at the main and at the east has been created for reserve planes ! Second we have a look at the airport surroundings ! Large busines and hotel quarters just of the Terminal D ! Hartford Valley Town (rather City, or to differentiate of Hartford City ) ! Two El-Subway lines run through Hartford Valley at both side to Hartford City ! Most citizens are quit rich due to taxes circumstances ! This supurb example of 70´s architectual design landed here from Brasil. Oscar Niemeyer´s Kopan building ! Here we conclude this CJ, next will be the last regular CJ of this years series of Mayon Province 2.0 ! ANNO Europe will be restarted and maybe some other series will come around, Mayon Province will return next year with a slight more green natural extension into the north east direction !   10. Car Ferry Terminal

    Car Ferry Terminal, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- While I quite like the look of the Maxis Car Ferry Terminal, after almost 15 years of seeing the same ferry building in game, it's time for an upgrade. This is a fictional building which I made for that purpose. While the lot conforms to the existing Maxis Car Ferry Terminal, it does not replace the in-game building. It is also slightly easier to place along the shore line - if you have ever placed the in-game version, you will have no problems using this lot as the principles are identical. Additionally, it uses standard maxis pavement textures (rather than a batted base like the in game version) so the lot will blend in with any sidewalk mods that you have. Just like the ingame lot, this lot is transit enabled for road, and as long as you draw the road into the lot, cars will drive through the building. Car Ferry buildings are a great alternative/supplement to bridges, and I use them to ease congestion on the road network. Please note the Car Ferry Terminal is a separate network from the Passenger Ferry Terminal. Ferries that leave from a passenger ferry terminal do not use a car ferry terminal and vice versa. Now, this is no different from the function in the vanilla rush-hour game, but as there are so few custom ferry terminals available for download, it is important to point out. Therefore, I recommend placing this at least twice in any city tile (on opposite shorelines) to get use. The ferry terminal is a modern building with a bar and restaurant on the upper levels. It has similar stats in terms of capacity and monthly cost to the Maxis Car Passenger Ferry Terminal, but provides a few more jobs. It is also limited to a maximum of 16 terminals per city tile and both this building and the in-game car ferry terminal count towards the 16 terminal number. Obviously it is found in the water transit section of the transportation menu and obviously it can only be placed in a city where in-game water is present; it does not work on canals or ploppable water.     Hartford City Live ! Since last CJ progres stumbled on several difficulties from BaT´s wich will crash if ploped and saved to the fysical simulation spee it self ! This weekend I discovered that Photobucket is going to charge 200 Dollar for 3d party usage of there image hosting; Imgur for now is the new host; Mayon Province early may partly moved in time, Photobucket second account with Europä ANNO is for now not yet affected so watch it will you can, new CJ aswell will move to Imgur ! For now the technical stuff sorted, we have a look at Hartford City ! Hartford Cityhall with the substential Hartford Community Gardem and in the back the old Hartford University Campus ! Hartford earliest settlement, now largely modernized exept the Magdalena Church still spirtitual heart of Hartford City ! Hotel district wich is part of a park landscape neighbourhood wich aswell houses the Hartford Eagles baseball grounds ! Close by the Hartford Central Railroad station and some business development ! Update : Station Area ! Update : Business district ! Hartford audotorium close by the park and the university ! Some other highrise development ! Update : Highrise ! New third subway line the "Education Line" boost the conneciton between the Big Mall - Highrise living and the University Campus ! Super mall Mayon Next ! Low housing in very high demand by it´s citiznes, very much wanted ! Update: Neighbourhood with some startup difficulties ! Last we have a look at the new university campus and adjacent neighbourhood ! That´s all for today, Hartford city development will continue ..     Hello again. This will be a quick entry, that will finally fit in the description of the CJ: Me asking for help and doing stuff. This is how Bellingham looks right now: A Sprawling metropolis with almost 3 mi people in it. Every metropolis have its problems with transportation Bellingham's is called Bandeirantes Avenue. Crossing with Avenida dos Campeões, another big arterial road of the city In few years, the avenue became one of the biggest cores of the city, with 64000 vehicles per day in it's five lanes per direction. All this complex it's right now this avenue is being serviced only by one subway station, Estação Bandeirantes of Line 1, one of the most used stations of the metro system.   14. Would a mod that modifies the boarding time for some transport types be possible? What I am primarily after is a way to increase the time airplanes spend at the gate as they way it is in vanilla they stop at the gates for far to short time. Best regards, Leo

    Hi all. I present you SM2 Central Train Station. A while ago I made a promise to someone. The remake of a famous SC4 station originally designed with standard Maxis rails. I promised that I would re-do this wonderfull station with RRW in mind and now it is a reality. With a few additions of course It now boasts a bus terminal, a taxi drop off lane, rail administration offices, an office tower, a hotel, a railyard and even a train garage for minor repairs. I designed this lot with a triple track format but only the middle track allows trains to cross the lot therefore you must make crossovers between the connecting tracks. The outer ones will connect visually. The 2 front entrances are TE'd for road across both connections and the service street will connect visually. It also acts as a bus stop and provides 740 low wealth jobs, 380 medium wealth jobs or 80 high wealth jobs. To keep things real, I decided to not allow freight trains to cross the lot. You must create a secondary rail line for freight outside the station. This is due to the fact that on the 2 outer tracks in the stations there are some train props and having automata go through them would not look realistic. In line with all my lots, textures are custom made and included in this download. There are tons of timed props exemplars to make the lot more lively, also included. I made 22 new HD props for this lot which is available for download in a separate prop pack that can also be used to create new lots. Station capacity = 62,500 Have fun. Questions?   17. At the edge of my city there is a landfill site and an incinerator that are surrounded by empty land. Nevertheless, I've noticed a few cars parked on the street near the landfill. But interestingly, the cars do not belonged to any landfill worker nor incinerator worker. The cars' owners work in the city downtown and they live in a suburban area at the other edge of the city map. There is not any park nor commercial building nearby. There isn't any public transport system between this area and the rest of the city. How on earth did they park their cars in the middle of nowhere?
  18. How do you narrow / change a road without the buildings disappearing? I have a few wide avenues which I wants to replace with narrow streets with a park down the middle...when I try this I have downgrade the roads to narrow streets - but then after a moment the building all vanish! Is there away to do this and keep the buildings in place?
  19. Maxis Renewal - Utilities and Transport

    In this installment of the Maxis renewal series, most of the basic Maxis utilities and transport have been re-lotted. As usual, changes include general lot redecoration, like most flora seasonalized and SCILT sidewalk textures, among other things. Lots overriden: Water pumps, Treatment plant, Incinerator, Recycling center, Nuclear and Solar power plants, Toxic waste dump, Passenger, Freight and Elevated train stations, Monorail, Bus and Subway stations, Elevated Rail to subway transition, Parking lot and Project Symphony style Maxis toll Booths. Standalone lots included: Compact Water Treatment Plant (50% less capacity), Compact Passenger and Freight Stations (25% less capacity), Train stops (very low capacity) and Passenger Rail Terminus Station (10% more capacity) These overrides require a considerable amount of dependencies: MHO PropOverride (included, make sure this loads after the '___NAM' folder!)   20. I have a large monorail network between 2 cities- one residential, another industrial/commerical. The monorail works inside each city map- but no passengers are using the neihbor connection connecting the residential to the industrial monorail network.... Some help please? BTW, I also have a SHR network going on a similar line to the monorail. I find that freight seems to not use the surface rail much.... I wonder if I should remove the surface rail to concentrate on monorail.

A small set of four lots for diagonal parking that comes in three flavors: Standalone Parks205 Sidings* BikePaths-compatible* Each version is supplied in a separate DAT, so you can install only those options you require. DEPENDENCIES * - Note: The P205- and BikePath versions are add-ons for Paeng's Parks 205 Sidings and Paeng's Bicycle Paths. They should only be installed if you are using these other modular sets by Paeng: All items can be found in the 'Transport | Miscellaneous' menu with custom icons. The Left/Right Ends of each version are functional parking and generate a small income. All items are compatible with any installed sidewalk mods.
  23. Transport Infrastructure Part 2

    The region so far: Running through the western part of the metro area, Cascadia National Route 215 enters the area at intersection with Ozio Rd in the suburb of Westridge. Then has an interchange with the southern end of the unfinished Beltway 10. The freeway continues north through the cities of Christmas Place and Easton. Just off the Repsdorph Blvd is the Easton Train Station, Served by Jaketon MetroRail. After passing through Easton, 215 meets Beltway 10 again, where it meets the other partial loop, Interstate 206. Then 215 goes through the city of North Easton before heading north through the mountains towards Point Barrow. Back in Collier County, branching off from Interstate 6, the Franklin Parkway acts as a business route through the town of Palmont Franklin Parkway then continues toward to the Palmont Train Station, and the main entrance for the Jaketon International Airport (The Avenue Stub). After passing the Airport, the I-6 Managed Lanes become the Collier Tollway, and head north through land slated to be developed as residential communities, then meets Interstate 3.

    The Region so far: Interchange of Interstates 3 and 206 in Southeast Jaketon. Which then run conjoined north, having an interchange with Interstate 6. And then the Interstates go their separate ways in Northeast Jaketon, with 206 making a partial loop around the city. And Interstate 3 heading north toward the southern end of Interstate 1, before heading off northeast toward the Prudhoe Bay/Deadhorse. The beginning of the Interstate 6 Managed Lanes/HOV in suburban Collier County. What will become Downtown Jaketon, on the shore of Lake Jaketon. The Jaketon Central Rail Terminal, Serving the Alaska State Railroad North Slope and Dalton Lines, as well as local commuter traffic, right next to Fire Station #1. The intersection of the East-West Jaketon Commuter Line and the North-South Alaska State Railroad. Alaska State Railroad passing under Interstate 206 near the suburb of Saleme, North of Jaketon.
  25. 03 Introduction to Transport

    INTRODUCTION TO TRANSPORT Darrylton has an extensive yet relatively simple transport system. Highways carry a great deal of cargo in and out of the city. In these shots, you can get a pretty good glimpse of the downtown expressway system. In addition to the highways which handle a host of imports/exports, at every entrance to the city, the incoming rail lines split to handle both cargo transport and passenger transport, specifically so the cargo lines do not get bogged down with unnecessary traffic. A majority of imports and exports are handled by the cargo hub at the Inner Harbor which is lined with popular shops, forming another popular tourist destination. Finally, there is an international airport to handle the intake of all the tourists. Next post, we will take a look at some of what they are all coming to see.
