Hello everyone!! First and foremost I just want to say that I'm so glad and it's such a relief to see Simtropolis back online - I was so sad to see the site go down back in April. Thanks so much to the staff's tireless work in saving Simtropolis!! To celebrate the occasion I'll be sharing a few scenes from my first ever city journal, Oakridge Heights. I'm fairly new poster but I've been working on this city over the last year or so. It's a huge metropolis dominated by Art deco and modern skyscrapers in it's downtown core with sprawling suburbs in all directions. After this quick preview I'll be showing off more of the city so make sure you stay tuned Welcome back Simtropolis!!!

Starting today, we will explore some of the cities in Rivamar Province. First, a brief introduction to the region: Rivamar is a vast province shaped by winding rivers. In the south, the main rivers meet and form a wide peninsula that stretches gracefully into the sea. The province has two official languages: Spanish and Portuguese. To start our trip, we go to one of first stablished cities and the current capital: San Martin. San Martin Population: ~225.000 Despite its small population, San Martin is the most influential city in the southern part of Bahía Clara—and how could it not be? It holds sway throughout the province, although its influence is more limited within the country. San Martin used to have a larger territory, but due to administrative decisions, two significant parts of the city became separate cities in the late 1800s: Esperanza and Baía Azul (more on them later). Back to today’s San Martin: the city is highly influential, not only because it is the provincial capital but mainly due to its beaches and the tourism generated by its many landmarks. Additionally, it has a strong service and commercial economy that creates jobs for neighboring cities. So, even though it is not among the most populated cities in the region, it is certainly one of the three most important. Surrounded by mountains to the north and the sea to the south, the city has limited space to expand, which has led to high population density in most neighborhoods. So, let's start with a complete aerial view of the city: From today, we will show two neighborhoods: Costa Dorada and Campos Campos Population: 51.041 Campos is the largest district by area and it is delimited by west with Baía Azul city, at north with Esperanza and it is in north of Costa Dorada neighbourhood, separated by the BRT Line (Esperanza-Bromelia). It is also separated at east by the I-21 highway. It is mostly residential, with some condos and most medium-size buildings. The most recognizable is the Teatro Magdalena in very south district, next to the largest hospital in city. Costa Dorada Population: 60.423 After that, our trip finds the most interesting and visited district in city: Costa Dorada. This neighborhood is famous for the crowded and beautiful beaches, parks, malls, luxury shops, museums, etc. For that, let's see some interesting points, but first, some images catched in different angles, where you can see the contrast between beautiful beaches and crowded and densely streets. A picture taken in a very sunny day: Now, let's see some more of district and the interest points: Of course, we started with the beaches: If you are tired to beach, and want just a walk and spend money, there is a lot of options to you: You also can buy some fresh products in the big market: Or visit the Roda Gigante (Ferris Wheel), the most visited landmark in city: Or take some time in Centro Rosario, a bit mall, a bit park, a bit cultural center: Biblioteca Municipal (City Library): Today, we starting our trip across Rivamar, showing some parts of the capital San Martin. In our next trip we will show the rest of city, so until there!

This is again, some of the contents of my imgur that I thought was not CJable. But thinking it through I thought it was a great story. Remember again, this images were not put out as something to tell this story, so use your imagination a little bit At first it was just land. But the people wanted something to stand out. They wanted to protect their land, so they built a fortress to protect it. But urbanization came, people were aproaching the fortress that once protected all of them And then came the roads. The development... More and more the land consolidated. But they had a scar. The road, separated them from the beach. The road actually destroyed the beach. Fortunately, after a lot of discussion, they got their beach back.
