The last time I've had played SimCity 3000 (which was my very first SC game, by the way) was almost 20 years ago. As soon as I got SimCity 4 at my hands in 2008, SC3K became a memory for me. A memory made by beautiful moments full of fun and experimentation. In fact, it was both playing SimCity 3000 and my university studies as an environmental engineer that led me to discover The Venus Project and Jacque Fresco's ideas about a Resource-Based Economy and Sociocyberneering back in 2005. No joke. Now it's high time to bring back those memories and have some old-school fun. Don't worry, though. I'm not gonna abandon SimCity 4 and my Welcome to Fairview CJ. Back then I also used to download buildings from sites such as Gemika's Reality and make my own too. My buildings were simple designed and as terrible as you can imagine. Terring's Terrible Buildings, SC3K edition . Fortunately I don't have them anymore. Trust me, you don't want to see them. They're that bad. But now it's time to make better buildings (I hope). First stop, parks. I made a set of custom parks to replace the in-game ones, designed to be mixed together in a way that would allow you to form virtual paths and sidewalks, and create epic zones of green and relaxation areas. So what we have in this upload are: Small park: Comes with a big tree in the middle and some benches for your Sims to take a rest at the tree's shadow. Big park: Comes with more trees and benches, and also with a central clearing for picnics, small gathers, local events, stargazing, yoga sessions etc. Fountain: Actually a big fountain with 4 smaller ones. Uses custom textures and props made by Night Angel, which can be found at Gemika's Reality site above. Just search for the 5x5 Stardust Casino&Hotel New Mille to get them. Pond: A simple (maybe too simple) pond with a pier to allow your Sims to feed the ducks closer and safer, and with a green fence surrounding it to protect the ducks from city hazards, such as cars and aggressive dogs. By the way, both the pond and the fountain use props (the green fence) that are available here. Playground: Comes with a central kiosk for parents to take a rest and watch their kids playing around and burning some ice cream calories. Installation is simple. Just pick the .zip file and unzip all the .bld files at the GOG Games\SimCity 3000 Unlimited\Buildings folder. Yes, I have the GOG version and not the Steam one, so installation may be different in Steam version. Then it's up to you to use the parks however you please. Have fun -

The Scoty Park Alleys pack includes over 600 overlays and base textures for lotting. It is primarily based on narrow paved alleys, allowing for all sorts of overlaps, associations, and intersections, double alleys, and combinations in all three orientations: ortho, dia, FA. You will therefore find different types of textures: - Ortho - Dia - FA - Sides (i.e., the side of a tile). - Long curves, loops, and S-shapes - Ortho to dia and FA, Dia to FA... - Junctions (width – not material, too heavy!) with PAENG, BSC, and KOSC paths. - Medium red sand paths. Ortho and Dia + connections to narrow ortho, dia, and FA. - Wide, even very wide yellow sand paths, with junctions to narrow or medium paved paths. - The "Extras" (+90): special shapes and designs (based on the main paving). - A few "flowerbeds" of turned earth to decorate your lawns. - Play elements to create children's play areas and sandboxes. - And finally: water... various pieces to create ground-level ponds of various sizes and shapes. As well as (classic) ponds. And 3 special tiles for a gently sloping waterfall. All elements follow a 3-point connection configuration per face. Like this: The "shapes" offered in the "Extras" section also allow for connection at these 3 points. A complete catalog - Scoty-PA_index.pdf - of textures (shape and identifier), and additional information, accompanies this pack.- 9 Comments

In the spirit of Stream Kit 1, we now have... Pond Kit 1. It had previously been included on Peg's Legacy release. This a collection of do-it-yourself, above sea-level water-like tiles/lots that you can use to build simple ponds and streams in your cities. These are simulated water tiles. Water vehicles will not travel on them. However, with the proper mix of texture, prop and mojo, we actually have the illusion of moving water. These lots should be placed on level land. Slope conforming versions are in the works and will be released in a future Add-On. The kit contains the following: 1. A 1x1 Straight Bank Lot. ($70/$5) * Comparable to a standard small Green Park in most categories (Park Effect, Demand Satisfied and Landmark Effect) plus slightly improved air pollution reduction. 2. A 1x1 Inside Corner Lot. ($70/$5) * Comparable to a standard small Green Park in most categories. 2. A 1x1 Outside Corner Lot. ($70/$5) * Comparable to a standard small Green Park in most categories. 2. A 1x1 Water Tile Lot. ($70/$5) * Slightly reduced properties compared to a standard small Green Park. 2. A 1x1 Water Tile Lot w/ Fountain. ($70/$5) * Comparable to a standard small Green Park in most categories. The fountain is modified to run 24/7. 2. A 1x1 Water Tile Lot w/ Dancing Fountain. ($80/$10) * Comparable to a standard small Green Park in most categories. This download includes several addons that were created during the same time period as well. See their individual Readmes for further instructions on usage. Installation Instructions: After unzipping the file, copy the .dat file to your C:\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins folder. Ta Da! That's it! ** Once installed, these lots will appear in the Parks Menu. Click Here for All Pegasus Productions Products on the STEX All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported. These are the original files as they were created. While this upload has been tested in the game and preformed as expected, issues may occur as a result of modding capabilities that existed at the time of development. Support from the wider community can be requested here. -

This beautiful gazebo is one of CT1999's unreleased models which I've simply modded and lotted and am now uploading following his request. It sits on a 3x3 pond park that can be used as stand-alone or within larger parks to create your quaint Chinese scene. You'll find it in your park menu with a plop cost of 400 and monthly maintenance of 30. Many thanks to CT1999 for both his modelling work and his decision to share! How do I create a lake? I noticed that after you start a new city, it no longer seems possible. I tried creating a small valley but it doesn't fill up with water. I remember in SimCity 3000 it was still possible to create a lake after starting a new city.

I'm wondering what you guys do to create a small pond... one that is larger than the tiny ploppable pond props but too small to create with actual game water. I wind up doing stuff like this and I feel a bit dumb. Is there a better way?

When the city council said to major Fantozzi let's try to honor the two times "Come-Back-We-Miss-You-Award" winner SimGoober, major Fantozzi engaged the young Danish landscape designer Lotti Følsom. Her idea was to create a very peaceful place. This is the result. Goobers Water. Lot Type: Park Size: 5x7 Plop Cost: $1,200 Monthly Cost: $40 Air Pollution (Reduction): -18/20 Water Pollution (Reduction): -8/20 Park Effect: 60/20 Before downloading please make sure you already have the following dependencies or if they are still available ... ... as Lotti used 9 dependencies: BSC BAT Props LiL Vol2.DAT BSC Mega Props – CP Vol01 BSC Mega Props – CP Vol02 BSC MEGA Props - Misc Vol02 BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol01 BSC MEGA Props - swi21 Vol01 Grfe_props_pack_LE_maples.dat BSC_TexturePack_Cycledogg_V 01 BSC Textures Vol01 Major Fantozzi feels the need to make this personal note: He was very proud that SimGoober personally came to the opening festivities of Goobers Water. The pictures shot on this occasion show him on on the park entrance at the right side. It seems a local journalist asked him even for an interview. At least major Fantozzi says so. Me personally (to add also a note) I don't believe it was a journalist. There is a single lot-file in this download. Simply put it in the plugin folder of your game and make sure you have all dependencies.- 8 Comments

(I'm not good with GIMP, I know:D) This village was founded in the next area to a lake, which has the same strange properties like the other lakes and ponds. In fact, this town needs no additonal heating systems, the lake holds the city even in winter by ~20 degrees. This is a huge economic saving, so there's some industry in this village too. There are rumors, scientists found a strange, yellow-glowing substance in the lake, but no one has proven this... Some more impressions: The whole area around the village will be settled too, it was already cleared completely. Now, a have a nice evening, folks! Replies Schulmanator: Thank you Schul...manator?! Oh my god, a compliment from one of the old masters! Thank you, Sir! <kneels down> Tonraq: Thank you....hehe, "quicky":D Huston: Thank you! And another compliment from a great SC4'er:D feeroz123: Thank ya, buddy:D The street curves are really easy, you just have to create a diagonal street and then simply click in the corner, works with roads too...if that was the thing you meant^^ Schriefer: Thank you, Schriefer:D

Well, my mourning break was at last as long as I usual break (you may have noticed, i usually post new entries at friday), so it was probably pretty normal for you. I think it's a nice idea (though I not invented it) to connect SC4 with music sometimes. This is a song by a relative famous (reggae) singer from Germany (Translation here) I'm sorry but the copyright control company "GEMA" has blocked the original video (yes, it's kinda facism), so I could'nt show you the music video but one with just the song (without any visualizations). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKg4PZANeUU The music thing is also a good excuse for uploading fewer pictures^^ Well I think I'm relatively over the thing with my cat, though it still hurts. Just a small tribute to my companion for over 10 years: Rest in peace Gurki. Thank you all for your understanding in the last week:/ Replies 47ply: Thank you for your compliments, I already posted you the link for the fences:) schokoladeneis 1: Cool, man:D I really like HSB since I saw them on GoTV during a hardplay night. Before this, I didn't even liked metal, but now I'm kinda into it:D feeroz123: You don't have to wait anymore:) Lost Realist: Thanks! pasqualegiò: Thank you for your sympathy:/ dlsni: Thanks for your understaning:/

You can build anything around them to create a special type of operation - put RES, COM or IND around it, or even a cop shop, a hospital... take your pick. What do you get if you toss the Pond Kit, the Stream Kit & the CDK into a paint mixer and let it run for an hour? Well, initially you get something that looks like a horrible Star Trek transporter accident !! But if you let that mixer run and extra hour or two, you eventually wind up with a viable means of transitioning the PEG Ponds & PEG Streams into the game's oceans... via the CDK. Adding the CDK in this fashion serves to mask a multitude of potential graphic sins & bugs inherent anytime props and textures go into the water. We will continue to pursue a non-CDK solution as well... but for those anxious to run their pond rivers and streams down to the sea, you now have a means to make it happen. Included are 4 new lots; a single CDK Stream lot and 3 CDK Pond lots (left, right & center). Streams are limited to a single tile in width but rivers made from the Pond Kit can be a wide as you want. These are CDK-OWW (Old Wooden Waterfront) lots and plop just like any other 2-tile deep CDK lot. They will appear in the Water Transportation menu along with the other CDK-OWW lots. Like most CDK lots, they have pricing & properties similar to a small plaza. To accommodate the fact that 92.3% of all CDK lots have a road running along their inland side, conditioned with the fact that 63.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot... these lots also have an appropriate Bridge-End modeled into their inland side. This will allow you to seamlessly continue any street/road/avenue you have running along your waterfronts. The transition lots are packaged into separate files; one for the Streams and one for the Ponds. After installing, you can easily remove one or the other if you do not use either the Ponds or the Streams. **These lots require the installation of the PEG CDK-OWW Development Kit Volume 1. Additionally, you should also have the Deluxe Editions of the PEG Pond & PEG Stream kits installed. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.
