The last time I've had played SimCity 3000 (which was my very first SC game, by the way) was almost 20 years ago. As soon as I got SimCity 4 at my hands in 2008, SC3K became a memory for me. A memory made by beautiful moments full of fun and experimentation. In fact, it was both playing SimCity 3000 and my university studies as an environmental engineer that led me to discover The Venus Project and Jacque Fresco's ideas about a Resource-Based Economy and Sociocyberneering back in 2005. No joke. Now it's high time to bring back those memories and have some old-school fun. Don't worry, though. I'm not gonna abandon SimCity 4 and my Welcome to Fairview CJ. Back then I also used to download buildings from sites such as Gemika's Reality and make my own too. My buildings were simple designed and as terrible as you can imagine. Terring's Terrible Buildings, SC3K edition . Fortunately I don't have them anymore. Trust me, you don't want to see them. They're that bad. But now it's time to make better buildings (I hope). First stop, parks. I made a set of custom parks to replace the in-game ones, designed to be mixed together in a way that would allow you to form virtual paths and sidewalks, and create epic zones of green and relaxation areas. So what we have in this upload are: Small park: Comes with a big tree in the middle and some benches for your Sims to take a rest at the tree's shadow. Big park: Comes with more trees and benches, and also with a central clearing for picnics, small gathers, local events, stargazing, yoga sessions etc. Fountain: Actually a big fountain with 4 smaller ones. Uses custom textures and props made by Night Angel, which can be found at Gemika's Reality site above. Just search for the 5x5 Stardust Casino&Hotel New Mille to get them. Pond: A simple (maybe too simple) pond with a pier to allow your Sims to feed the ducks closer and safer, and with a green fence surrounding it to protect the ducks from city hazards, such as cars and aggressive dogs. By the way, both the pond and the fountain use props (the green fence) that are available here. Playground: Comes with a central kiosk for parents to take a rest and watch their kids playing around and burning some ice cream calories. Installation is simple. Just pick the .zip file and unzip all the .bld files at the GOG Games\SimCity 3000 Unlimited\Buildings folder. Yes, I have the GOG version and not the Steam one, so installation may be different in Steam version. Then it's up to you to use the parks however you please. Have fun
  2. Scoty Park Alleys

    Version 1.1.0

The Scoty Park Alleys pack includes over 600 overlays and base textures for lotting. It is primarily based on narrow paved alleys, allowing for all sorts of overlaps, associations, and intersections, double alleys, and combinations in all three orientations: ortho, dia, FA. You will therefore find different types of textures: - Ortho - Dia - FA - Sides (i.e., the side of a tile). - Long curves, loops, and S-shapes - Ortho to dia and FA, Dia to FA... - Junctions (width – not material, too heavy!) with PAENG, BSC, and KOSC paths. - Medium red sand paths. Ortho and Dia + connections to narrow ortho, dia, and FA. - Wide, even very wide yellow sand paths, with junctions to narrow or medium paved paths. - The "Extras" (+90): special shapes and designs (based on the main paving). - A few "flowerbeds" of turned earth to decorate your lawns. - Play elements to create children's play areas and sandboxes. - And finally: water... various pieces to create ground-level ponds of various sizes and shapes. As well as (classic) ponds. And 3 special tiles for a gently sloping waterfall. All elements follow a 3-point connection configuration per face. Like this: The "shapes" offered in the "Extras" section also allow for connection at these 3 points. A complete catalog - Scoty-PA_index.pdf - of textures (shape and identifier), and additional information, accompanies this pack.

  4. Do you just plop schools on their own or do you add any other lots with them? For Elementary Schools, I sometimes put a Playground adjacent to it. For High Schools, in my previous game, I would usually do something like this - add a Basketball Court and a couple of small Open Paved Areas, or a Tennis Court. Then I'd surround them with Grass and plant trees to make an enclosed space. A Soccer Field would be cheaper actually - do Americans have Softball Fields in schools? Maybe I should build some communal playing fields around the city with Soccer Fields and Softball Fields within distance of inner-city schools. What do you do in your city? ETA: Large inner-city high school in my previous city:

The building is called ‘Marché Couvert’, an covered market. But the new owner build an jogging track with obstacles and a playground. The market became a canteen. please note that the thing I did here, was plopping all kind of things in certain places. All these things are made by others. As far as I understand, this building does nothing else than standing were you plop it. The size is 6X4 and you can find it in the park menu. There are two versions. One with an old wooden fence (Duco-marche couvert-trim_88a42ae7.SC4Lot) and one with a hedge (Duco-marche couvert-trimhaag_c8a5406c.SC4Lot). The corners of the hedge are not spectaculair, I’m sorry for that. If you don’t want one, just delete the file you don’t want, but don’t delete the original Marché Couvert. If you don’t want the wooden fence, you don’t have to download: CSX Megaprops Vol6. First picture is the default version, with just the mentioned plugins. Second picture is with my plugins folder Thirth picture is with mmp’s Hope you like it. The Memorial City Park is available in three versions and each can be downloaded separately from the STEX, they can be found in the reward menu as it comes with 16 jobs and earns your city $800 a month income from the shop profits, the front entrance of the park and also the entrance to the carpark in version 2 (LH & RH) have been network enabled to give the visual effect of cars stopping or using the car park. The Azaleas, Roses, Shop and Wildflowers are all from prop families so if you have more than one of these parks in your city there will be subtle differences between the parks, especially after you have planted trees, etc using God or Mayor mode. You may get Blimps or Balloons over your city, you will definitely get fireworks once a year and of course the year would not be complete without a visit from Santa Claus. Last but not least this park will have a positive effect on your Air, Mayor Rating and Water in the area surrounding the park. Installation Installation: While the park is slope friendly it is also very formal in layout and I would recommend plopping it on flat or leveled ground and due to the size and number of effects and props not to have more than one park per city, there are three versions of this park, each can be downloaded separately from the STEX. Version 1 - No Carpark Version 2 - With Carpark (Lefthand Drive) Version 2 - With Carpark (Righthand Drive) Version 3 - With Stream I have not included any trees in the park so as to allow people to use God or Mayor mode to plant trees suitable for their city or region, the only place you cannot plop trees is on the lake and the surrounding area covered by the wildflowers, because it can take several attempts to get the right look with your trees I have kept the cost of plopping and deleting this park to $1600/$3200. Un-Installing: To un-install the files, simply bulldoze every lot from this download in your cities and delete the files from the plugins folder afterwards. ENJOY Lot Details and Information Ploppable City Park with Jobs and Income: Lot size: 8 x 8 tiles or 10 x 9 tiles Menu position: Building: Reward, Building: Dog Magnet, Building: YIMBY Jobs (16 Total): Jobs $ : 4,Jobs $$ : 9,Jobs $$$ : 3,R-$ : 4,R-$$ : 9,R-$$$ : 3 Plop cost: § 1600 Bulldoze cost: § 3200 Monthly Income: § 800 Park effect: 32 over 32 tiles Landmark effect: 32 over 16 tiles Max. Hello everyone, Over time I have received several requests to release some of the lots I created for use in my City Journal. I have been hesitant to do this because I did not have the time to mod the lots so that they are appropriate for release. Now that I have some time, I have decided to release some of the lots I use. These two lots are intended as parks for an urban area or a Japanese-style city. I originally created these lots for the city of Tokukai. Future releases will depend on how much of the files I used for Insulo can be recovered from my old computer. Note: These lots may look better with a grey concrete sidewalk mod, but that is not required. If you downloaded this file before 3:40 EDT November 20th there is a new version that corrects the menu icon glitch. Simply delete the files from your plugins and replace them with the new ones. I apologize for the inconvenience. The updated package also includes a readme file. Please report any errors you find in the comments section and I will try to address them. However, I am not responsible for any harm resulting from the use of this file. Because it was originally created as a personal lot I made no attempt to minimize the number of dependencies, and will not be reducing them. I think all of the dependencies I've chosen are good to have and several are very widely used. Here's a small pack of playgrounds based on the designs of playgrounds from the Soviet Union, with classic play equipment such as miniature tanks, and murals on the walls. They come in three lots: Small 1x1 Medium 1x2 Large 2x2 And on a side note; Civility is expected on the STEX, if you hold grudges towards the Soviet Union, don't berate my upload for it, i'm just simply recreating some of the structures and buildings built there.
