Okay, so I haven't got round to doing the first proper entry yet but here goes: The first entry is North Marais. Before the war it was a prosperous high-tech industry zone as well as a shopping hub in North Marias Centre. The first picture we see here is one of the camps of survivors. Since the structural damage to most of the buildings is huge, with collapses and fires occuring on a daily basis, a large percentage of the population have chosen to huddle outdoors in communities. This particular camp is built on an old city park that sat on the front of the industry zone. Logs are being brought in using logging trucks that scour the city for feasible wood and bring it back here for the construction of new permanent structures, like the new watchtower. Raiders and wandering, mad scavengers always pose a threat so the camp is lightly armed and defended with small walls of rubble. Here is the Marais Maruaders Baseball Team Stadium, or what's left of it. The surrounding area was badly effected by fireblasting but the stadium has stubborly stood. Now it is home to the North Marais council, a group of people trying to bring control into the area. It may not look it but this is the site of thier new military base, as they seek to bring order. Downtown North Marais wasn't took badly affected by the bombings, with most of its buildings still standing. However, it has been looted and fought over so many times it has been rendered a ghost town. In one of the old Marais Archives a photo was found of the pre-war state of the city. However years of neglect have blackened and despoiled the area. Just north of downtown is one of the blast craters. It landed right on the motorway, collapsing it and breaking communications. Short range radiation is too severe to go anywhere near it. An arial shot of North Marais, showing downtown, the Stadium, North Marais Park Camp and the port which used to service the industry here. At the top right of the picture is the motorway again, just down from the blast crater. I hope this proper first entry wasn't too bad. I'm looking for more ruins and stuff: buildings, car wrecks, whatever. In particular I'm looking for a beached or sunken ship. If anyone could point out anything like this it would be most appreciated. And of course any feedback or pointers. - 2

Brief Update
Join in for another update of Confluence Region. Today - a rather short update, due to personal health issues. My two months absence is interrupted to bring you this update. After that, it's a matter of time until the next one, hopefully as soon as possible. //////////////////////////// Replies: SimCoug, Mithrik, ggamgus, urbanconstanta, 10000000000000, hammysonata, Kinderly, nedal2001, blunder, Jeroentje, Kruness, mrsergio, Aaron Graham, CarrotCake07, Waterclaw, daybreak: I wish I could thank all of you separately... It's heartwarming to see my work bearing fruit, and to recieve your blessings every update! All 16 of the comments are awesome to see, especially because I get it on my phone, online and instantly. And to answer a small question by Kinderly - What makes you sure that this CJ is set in america? //////////////////////////// Brief Update: Do you remember J.L. Solomon? As one of the heads of the "Gateway to Hope" movement, he recruits many men and women to join to the effort of colonizing the frontier. By 1882, dozens are due to travel by sea and settle in the Confluence region, thus forcing development. Cornerstone is the second settlement in the region, besides Homestead. While their north bank neighbours enjoy easy access to crops and fishing boats, locals here rely on constant supply boats, mostly from Homestead itself. Besides of taming the land, land surveys are starting to initiate... This next picture is shot around 500 meters to the east of Cornerstone, past the small creek, towards the large slough shown in the "Sculpting Nature, Part 5" update. I wish them minimal mosquito bites during their stay there. //////////////////////////// Cornerstone Colony, Summer 1881: Have an awesome week, Thanks for watching/commenting! - 12

As you have not yet seen the entire city, here is a picture of Attabar. The original planners of the city followed the ideas of New Urbanism. There are streets in a grid pattern, and public transportation is an important part of the city's infrastructure. The highways were intended to encircle the city instead of cutting through it, also providing a clear border for urban growth. For the most part, the metropolis has not been developed outside of the highway ring; the surrounding areas are reserved for industrial zoning. Click on the thumbnail to see the full-size image. A major construction project has recently taken place in Attabar. The location of the city's only rail terminal caused a lot of problems for passengers. It is located in a suburban commercial area with a significant distance between it and the central business district. The terminal also was overcrowded, as the number of platforms at the station was not enough to keep up with the rise in rail traffic resulting from the city's rapid growth in recent years. In addition to this, passengers who wished to pass through the city on a north-south route had to make a significant detour to do so. Those who wished to travel past the city from the southeast to the northeast borders and vice versa had to ride a train all the way around the city, to the terminus, and then transfer to another train at the end of the line. From there, they needed to make another detour around the northern half of the city. A north-south rail line along the coast was never planned for. It was decided that something needed to be done about the problem. A few different plans were considered by the city's transit authority, including one to utilize existing highway right-of-way to replace the ring section of highway with a through railway. It was eventually decided that the best course of action as far as having a railway station be central to the urban core was to build a terminus station. Planning began for the station's exact location. The final plan was for a terminal with several underground platforms and a bus terminal as well. It would be located with the tracks facing west and ending in that direction. Three city blocks' worth of buildings would need to be demolished. The ideal area was chosen, which was central to the downtown core. Click on the following diagram to see a rough outline of the location of the station and the rail lines: There was some debate among the members of the Transit Authority on whether to have most of the railway be at ground level and close the inner lanes of the highway to accommodate six tracks, or leave the coastal freeway undisturbed and tunnel beneath it for the tracks within the city limits. It was eventually decided that the second option would be chosen, as the city had a lot of money to spare. After a long construction period, the station is finally complete. It is, to this day, the most expensive construction project in the history of El Mundo Nuevo. Entering and passing through the city by train is now a very attractive option for commuters and travelers. The rail tracks to and from the station split apart and curve in opposite directions (north and south) under the highway, and a through route bypassing the station and city also exists under the ground beside them. What exists in this project's future? More lines will be planned and built as part of new growth in the city in the future, connecting to this station. The city's tramways have two stations on different sides of the terminus; one future possibility is to connect the tram lines to the station with a tunnel, allowing trams to directly enter the station and use some of its platforms. This has the potential to make transferring from train to tram much easier for passengers. - 5

Kitimat-The capital city of the Northern Province I
To start an old newspaper I found in my files. The city Hall of Kitimat was built in 1921, replacing the old city council building. It was renovated in 1982 but kept its charm. Main Avenue as it enters the city core. One the oldest building can be found at this intersection. It houses the Imperial Bank branch since 1911. It is known locally as the Olde Building. The Herald Sun building and the Knoll building on Main Avenue. The Entertainment District spans 3 blocks of the city centre. Regal Theatre, Imperial Theatre, and The Orpheum Theatre are found here. Downtown Kitimat its heavily ArtDeco influenced buildings The peaceful Harewood neighborhood. A typical urban store can be found here. The University of Kitimat (UofK) is the second oldest in the country. It was charted by Royal decree in 1885, the first classes were held in huts next to the railway station. The construction of the campus started in 1908, stopped in 1912 because of the war, and resumed in 1915. The campus opened officially in 1917. Set in Yellowhead Point, it is considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. The university is well known for its engineering degree; more than half of the countries are UofK graduates. Next: Kitimat II and sister city Surrey Your comments keeps me going, don't be shy of leaving some. I have more surprises for you guys. - 6

1.2.Kingdom of Alexandria | Sirmium
Sirmium was a city in ancient Roman Pannonia. First mentioned in the 4th century BC and originally inhabited by the Illyrians and Celts, it was conquered by the Romans in the 1st century BC and subsequently became the capital of the Roman province of Lower Pannonia. In 294 AD, Sirmium was pronounced one of the four capitals of the Roman Empire. It was also the capital of the Praetorian prefecture of Illyricum and of Pannonia SecundaProvince. Sirmium was located on the Sava river, on the site of modern Sremska Mitrovica in Vojvodina province, northern Serbia. The Republic of Serbia declared its site an Archaeological Sites of Exceptional Importance in 1990. The modern region of Syrmia (Srem) is named after it. Sirmium had 100,000 inhabitants and was one of the biggest cities of its time. Colin McEvedy, however, puts the population at only 7.000, based on the size of the archaeological site. Ammianus Marcellinus called it "the glorious mother of cities". In the late 17th century, during Ottoman revange invansion of Serbia, majority of Alexandrians fled from Kosovo and Metohija to North, to Austria-Hungary. Alexandrians flooded towns in Austria-Hungary. One of them was Sirmium. Sirmium was a small town in Panonnia, and agriculture was its priority. Austria-Hungary wanted to help Alexandrians, only if they protect them and rest of Europe against Ottomans. Alexandrians accepted their offer, and Austria-Hungaria built nice looking w2w homes in the center of town. Alexandrians were good traders, and they still are. They learned their skill from the Byzantians and the Venetians Austria-Hungary also built Orthodox church for Alexandrians and minority of Serbs. Next to it is the old courthouse, that today servs as a museum. For almost two centyries, Serbs defended Europe from Ottomans, until in 1912., Serbia, again became independent country. The Northern cities like Sirmium and Singidunum became centers of economy, politics, etc. They were developing, until 1941. when WW2 came into Kingdom of Serbia. Nazis lost the war, and Serbia was liberated again, but, it wasnt Kingdom anymore, it became country with Communist regime. They are protected by law, and stand to remind us of specific West Communisam, and broterhood and unity. learn more==> Brutalist architecture. Commie buildings were overflowing the perifery of Sirmium. Agriculture was destroyed, and large factories were built on agricultural fields. After fall of Yugoslavia, and communist regime, 6 republics and one kingdom were made. Republics: Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia and Kingdom of Alexandria. Kingdom of Alexandria, with cities: Sirmium, Singidunum, Naisus, Neoplanta, etc... - 2

The end...
I might as well end this CJ on a good note. After giving some thought and consideration, I feel its best for me to end Onubis and leave AIN due to my busy schedule and lack of motivation of SC4 in general. Does this mean I will go back to SC4? Depends if my interest sparks again, then I'll start anew with a different nation. For now, I'll have to end this. Greyson Bridge
I'm proud of myself this entry as I begin developing the third city in the region of Hansburgy, Greyson Bridge. This city, as the name suggests, revolves around the Greyson Bridge, linking City Centre to the Western Island. Firstly the bridge is put in, and the links from City Centre are connected, included the rail line. The city will utilise wind power, which is built alongside the interchange (unfortunately there is a link missing due to construction constraints [when NAM31 is released, I may go back and change this]) Growth on this side has been in high demand, with the medium density zoning quickly maximised. Meanwhile, less intense development has begun over the bridge, with transport already developed. This land to the west is likely to be high demand now that the east is at the current capacity. And here's a look at the region currently. The boundary of City Centre and Greyson Bridge is quite noticable... - 14

Port Novac - Stage 2
Sorry about the time between posts...not that anyone viewed my other one >_> Port Novac. A small, bustling town of 10,000 people on a slab of rock. Only a short 10 years ago the town was 4,000 people. A massive overhaul of zoning has been done by the mayor and has nearly bankrupted the city. The good thing is that now the city is running smoother than ever and has a profit margin of 4,000 simolians! One of the citizens of the town had recommended the advantages of a high speed rail system. They mayor took it a step farther and built a monorail system! Then he tore it down after he realized that it would bankrupt the city again and decided to build a GLR system. The results of this is Port Novac's first rapid transit system. The route is fed by small commuter shuttles. The bridge below has the plaque on each entrance that reads. “Here is to Daniel Fairview. Although he is not dead he is credited with the idea of a commuter rail.” The sign is vastly incorrect... A second main street has been made and both of them are now avenues. Traffic traverses rapidly and a couple traffic accidents have occurred. One example is a dog driving a car colliding with a ice cream truck. The result was a lot of kids and a sick dog. The coastline is being developed as a boardwalk. So far all there is on it are some shops and a ship of some sort. A beach is nestled in there also but it seems to be eroding by the minute. The industrial area has gone through a period of urban decay but is now being flooded with new, gleaming, high tech industry. Unfortunately it appears that most of the land is being bought by a single company. This may cause problems in the future.- Read More

Flying over the city and baseball - day 3
On the planning of today are two great things. First I will go on a tour with a helicopter, to see New Chester City from the sky. When I am done with that I will go to Chester Field, home of the Chesters, the baseball team of New Chester City. But first the helicopter tour. After I had my breakfast at my hotel, I took a cap to the heliport in the industry area, which is located at the banks of the Oude River. The Oude River is located at the north side of New Chester Island, and separates the island with the northern borough Kings. The helicopter tour will show me the entire city. Firstly we flew over the New Chester Bay, from where I took this picture. On the picture you can see the entire city. On the down side of the picture, Lower New Chester Island can be seen, with the McGuire Center on the right side. Above that Old Town. Furthermore, one can see that on the right side of the picture, mostly along 7th and 6th Avenue, the most important business district is located. These two avenues are famous for its high amount of office skyscrapers. Moreover, the Edwards Building can be seen, which is located on 7th Avenue. Also Central Square can be seen in the centre of the city. On the left of Central Square, the Carmen Building is located. A big eye catcher is University Park, the largest park of the city with the New Chester City University located inside the park. Above University Park, the Chester Field stadium is located. The tour was amazing, although it lasted for only 15 minutes. However, when I left the helicopter, I was offered a free night tour, since I was the 1.000.000 guest. Of course I was thrilled, because the night tours are very exclusive and now I could see the city by night too! When I left the heliport, I took a cap too Chester Field, home of the Chesters. The Chesters are one of the best teams of the nation. I was lucky I could buy tickets for the match against the Yankees. When I bought the tickets, I had still a couple of hours till the match would begin, so I decided to go to University Park. University Park is the largest park of the city. It is the place to be for relaxation in New Chester City. Many of the city’s citizens come to the park to relax or sport. The park has a large amount of sport accommodations, like baseball, tennis and soccer fields. The park is also a popular meeting place for students as well, since the university is located in the park as well. After I walked through the park I arrived at the New Chester City University. It is a very famous university, with its even more famous library. The University’s Library is namely opened for public as well. This was done as a gift of the university to the city. Since the library became public, it is one of the largest libraries in the USA. - A view over University Park and the New Chester City University. - Chester Field, home of the Chesters. After I visited the university and its accommodations, I returned to Chester Field to watch the baseball match. The atmosphere in the stadium was unbelievable and the Chesters won the game. After the match ended, I rushed to a cap to go the heliport again, to do my night tour. The night tour was amazing and I took again a picture when I flew over New Chester Bay. This time it was great to see all the lights. After 15 minutes I landed again and I took a cap again to get to the hotel. At the hotel I had dinner and I went straight to bed and waited what would happen tomorrow.- Read More
