  2. so for about 6 months (if you pay attention at all) I have been gone and have made no updates on my cjs. the reason for this is that I lost my game. since not a single video game store in town had simcity 4( they DEFINATELY had sims 3) I kinda gave up on finding or buying my game (simcity4). But now i will have it back! in like a week! so you will expect a first entry on my new cj, consuelo. if you are reading this say what the name of my city journal should be other than consuelo... it should be a south american name. (in spanish or portugese or just in that style) THANK YOU FOR READING THIS! TYPE HELLO IF YOU LIKE MY OTHER CJS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS FEEL FREE TO ASK FOR HELP!!
  3. Hello everybody. Due to having a lack of time and motivation to update, then due to technical difficulties, I haven't updated my City Journal in awhile. I've made some changes to Adatan and will present these in the New Year. This means I won't be continuing the story so disregard whats been before. But for now enjoy this Christmas update! Replies: Big Thanks to all who replied! Welcome to Assen! Assen is a city I've been working on of late. These are some pics from the old city. Some get into the spirit more than others... This is Assen Central Park. Come here to enjoy Christmas carols. Obviously the budget didn't stretch to all the trees. City Cathedral will host the Christmas day service after which people will gather for a Community Dinner! Adatan and I would like to wish you a great Christmas! Stay tuned for New Years celebrations! (btw My user name has changed to match other sites!)
  4. Hi, sorry for not posting in a long time, but a lot of things got in the way with CJing. Anyway, I've been trying to make a good update for ST to announce my return with. But all I can do is find a few scattered pictures. :L So here it is. A preview of the Capital of Shayden: Smith City. I'm sorry for a lack of pictures, but perfection takes time. Happy Holiday's folks! P.S: This CJ is done now. Expect something new within the next few weeks. You'll like the new CJ. Don't worry, Shayden will remain. It's just going under a few "changes". Stay classy and stay tuned

Hello! Welcome to my new CJ. This CJ will be all about the island of Waltham. For the first CJ, I will mainly just explain where Waltham is, and a brief history over the small island. WALTHAM'S LOCATION Waltham is a small island in the North Sea of Europe. It is a rather unknown island, because of it's smaller size. It is currently unclaimed, and unestablished land. A very few of people live here. Some rich mansion owners live on the quiet island. The only way to get to the island is by boat. The size of Waltham is enlarged on this map, to show detail. It is quite smaller... WALTHAM'S HISTORY Waltham has very little history to date. The small island was once under British control, but then the Americas were discovered, and Britain lost interest over it. In 1610, three years after the English settled Jamestown, Great Britain let go of "Bristburg", which the British had named Waltham. In 1762, Noticing the island still barren and incomplete, the UK once again took control over "Bristburg", which it was still called. They established one city, named "Bristburg City", after the island itself. The city was established on North-Eastern "Bristburg", and still exists today, although it is a self-governing city, the first in the world since 1801, when the UK gave up the island once more. In 1809, Bristburg City decided to rename the island which it's city was hosted as "Waltham", getting rid of the tiresome name their British descendants gave them. Today, the land is still technically unclaimed, except for city of Bristburg. I heard somewhere that the French were becoming of interest... Hmm. Well, that's all for today. In the next CJ, which will be either posted tomorrow, or after Christmas Day, I will show you Bristburg, the old British settlement. Here's an (as much as I could fit in a snapshot) overview of Waltham. Thank you for reading, please comment of what you think so far. With love, and Merry Christmas! ~ Tyler

"Well that is the Deli At Kale Orthodox monastery. The new church was built on the place of a smaller one, built in the early 19th c. Actually Azdaqiya (the right pronounciation is Azdakhia) is a small country, where the majority are Muslims and Latin-rite Catholics. But there is still a place for the small and prosperous Orthodox monastery. " - "that was written in the brochure of the monastery, which I found on the Internet. Deli At Kale that sounds interesting. I will Google it when I get back home." To be continued... PS. I wish all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, full of happiness. Special thanks to debussyman, who made that beautiful church!

Hello Today I have a selection of picture from my most recently made city. Onel is a vibrant city with a many cultures. One of the notable buildings is the old brewery. Most active in the 60's it has been unoccupied since the 90's when the owner was shot by a local vigilante calling himself the new Robin Hood. Before shooting him the vigilante stole all his money. Another notable part of the city is the iconic french quarter. This forms the heart of the city. Away from Onel, I have been experimenting with mmp water and bridges. The idea is to make it look like the water drains under the bridge. What do you think?

  9. ----- Mastof: haha, yea, I do get carried away with it occasionally (probably because i enjoy it ). Thanks! LoonyMan: Tanx! and actually I'm a PC ----- One morning, all was quiet; the streets were empty and everyone was asleep. The news yesterday had a goverment announcement to stay indoors for most of the day, so of course everyone was sleeping in. Not for long... Explosions rattle the capital during the early morning hours. Being a respectful bunch of people, everyone waited out the morning and then some as more Earthshaking explosions took place. Based on where they were coming from, it seemed the old farm out by the hightway was being destroyed by them. Everyone was deeply puzzled, what's going on? Once it was a little while after dinner, everyone packed up and went out to see what all the commotion was. Yakingo's residents were greeted by something completely new to them... coal. The new coal quarry has a small depot close to the entrance and the highway. Beyond the depot at the entrance, everyone's eyes were fixed on something they had never seen before.... A huge excavator-type mining rig was erected in the quarry's pit. A few weeks later... The Dashyation government is the only group benefittting from the mine's revenue; the people have gotten many new jobs and have started buying many more commericial products and service luxuries. Though the industrial sector has been revitalized, the commericial aspects of Yakingo have improved as well. A few new offices have opened on some terraced land overlooking the ocean to the east. Small shops and restraunts fill plazas around town and sell products such as computers, TVs, bacon, and other things that the populace couldn't afford about a month ago. They even stay open all night! The town has outgrown its small central square, so the avenue at the northern end of the sqare is being expanded westward for a new residential and commerical district. Finnaly, a grand overview of Yakingo. The quarry is up to the top right by Highway A-1 North and the now-decomissioned oil facility and its port are on the bottom right following the avenue. Everyone's got coal for Christmas this year! Hope you all enjoyed.
  10. Hi y'all!! When I left y'all last time just a tiny bit of this fine city's history had been revealed. Nah it ain't really nice of me to keep y'all hanging like this, so it would behoove me to narrate a bit more. Today y'all learn about some of our city's less glorious history, one of a shamefull nature, but it is a story that need to be told. In last chapter , the city had just become the state's capital city, and plans had been made for a propper downtown. When the initial plans were drawn it became apparent that the governor's fine stately mansion he was living in at that moment stood in the way of much of downtown. Suffice it to say that our first governor was a mighty wealthy and influential man, and his fine home was part of the Donnelly family Plantation Estate. In them days plantations, sadly enough, were as normal as cows in the field. By some miracle , the Lawd be praised, when the final plans came out, the stately mansion got incorporated into the downtown layout. Rumour went that our fine governor bribed the city planners, and had made a couple of promises of a very lucrative nature here and there. A couple of years later the whole scheme got exposed by a disgruntled ex mistress and the governor was forced to hand over the property rights to the state. For many many decades afterwards it was home to many of our fine governors. Now it acts as a museum, and from time to time it serves for public purposes. The lawn in front of the mansion holds a memorial to all victims of the slavery period, a very dark and shameful period in the history of our fine nation. Here's an old family picknick painting , late 18th century As you can see the stately home is pretty much surrounded by open fields and woodland. This oil painting below can be admired y'all in the main hall of the museum The same area today is beyond recognition - the memorial features prominently at Governor's Square. Many of the old estate homes still exist today and serve a very different function. Here you can see the C-UNV main administration building (Cheyenne campus - University of New Virginia) , originally part of the Hagley Estate. And before we close our tour of magnificent stately homes, here's probably the most famous of all, the Ladevere Home. Famous not only because it belonged to the richest of families in Cheyenne, also because it is the most haunted home in the city. Richard Devere was a wealthy man, whose riches did not always come legitimately, and was not a man without scandal. Rumour went that, though he was married to the wealthy heiress of the Devere fortune, Rebecca Devere, he had a special fondness for all of his maids. Most of the maids in service of the Devere family ended up pregnant. People used to joke the place was so full of kids at one time they should have called the place Ladevere Nursery Home. Poor Rebecca could not handle it anymore and committed suicide, after murdering several maids and their children. After this great tragedy Richard withdrew himself from public life, never to be seen again. People these days report seeing the ghosts of the slain maids with their children, running away from Rebecca as she chases them with a butchers knife in the hand. Here one can see a printing plate used for promotion, early 20th century. I got one suprise for y'all, an old city map.. It shows several landmarks which got destroyed during the great fire in the civil war (eg the Magazine and the Market Halls..) Link to a larger size map: http://imageshack.us...apwithered.jpg/ Well, that was it for this update y'all, I hope y'all enjoyed it! Have a good'n!!!

Hi Guys. This is my first city journal entry - the Habour city of Port Lantea, and first city of the Eternal Sounds region, Neu Westfalen --- Population: 233,359. SPECIAL THANKS TO RepublicMaster for helping me correct my images (and creating the background story for my ongoing City Journal). I put alot of work into the CBD and Port area in particular so we'll start here. Port Lantea is the Eternal Sound's main Financial Hub and is home to numerous international corporations, many of whom have their global HQs here. Needless to say it is also the largest commercial port in the region, with large container, LNG, Oil and Cruise-liner facilities as well as a Luxury Marina. The port is also home to the nation's largest naval base (at right), but I'll cover that in an upcoming post. The busy container-port... ...operates 24/7 The NWS Westphalia - a decommissioned Battleship that serves as a tourist attraction for citizens and tourists alike. It is kept in servicable condition in the unlikely chance it should ever be needed. The Westphalia is a relic launched in 1941 and served in WWII against Imperial Japan in the Pacific, it was upgraded twice before being removed from service in 1985. The port can accommodate up to 4 cruise liners at a time - an important facility for the entire region's tourism industry. The Spinnaker Tower is the perfect centerpiece for a Marina. Downtown Mall and open, green space near the main Stadium The main highway (sunken) runs straight through the city and right along the CBD to provide efficient, low-congestion transportation. The main Stadium and Convention Centre are located in the CBD, right next to the main HSR terminal & main Highway for easy, efficient access. Large Apartment blocks surround a central park near the CBD Night-shot of the CBD. The Central Sports/Cultural district contains a variety of arenas and venues. Port Lantea's biggest Church. A couple of overviews of the whole city. That's it for now, more coming soon. hope you all like.

Hey guys, this is Mayor Matt P. This is my first actual attempt at making a city journal so bear with me. I got a basic idea on how these things go... but I'm a little rusty. So to give you a basic idea of what my city is about, I've formed together a little preview to show off the best and the worst of the Hudson City area! Here is the satellite view of the West Hudson Peninsula I'm sorry that I don't have anything else, but this is where you come in! I NEED PEOPLE TO COMMENT HOW THEY LIKED THIS... WHAT DO I NEED TO ADD HOW CAN I MAKE THIS INTERESTING FOR THE VIEWERS FOR ANY EXPERIENCED JOURNALISTS... GIVE ME SOME ADVICE AND ANYTHING I CAN DO OR CREATE TO MAKE THIS CITY JOURNAL INTERESTING FOR THE GENERAL VIEWER! THIS IS MY FIRST TIME AND I NEED HELP So review, comment, like, whatever. This is Mayor Matt signing out!

The country of franchesco is young and nieve. It has a population of 1,115,481 poeple and is home to the largest city in this cluster of countries, with Its capitol city, Puegot, at 638,834 in September 2012. Its also extremely wealth, but like in America, its poorer in the south, after war destroyed it. Franchesco has 2 provinces, the north and south, though its said that everything east of the puegot river will become the 3rd and eastern province. The large cities in this nation are puegot metro, pagedale, and aberdeen. The pagedale and aberdeen areas combine together with almost equal populations to creat the pagedale aberdeen metro area. There are 7 cities in the puegot metropolitan area; Puegot(344,735,), Oak Beach(23,923), Irving Park(21,426), Sodus(61,781), Greenvale(75,374), Delmont(84,161), and Ladera Heights(27,434). As I said earlier, the south was recently invaded by North Korea for its failed sabatoge of its communications satelite. North korea stopped at the south to send a message but withdrew after the hammer of the world fell down on North Korea. Though the country gained about 60k-70k residents after reconstruction its a bit disorganized, there are some higher numbers of poverty, the civil services are a bit more scattered and jumbled up, and now urban high rises neighbor suburban dream homes. Faults: no power or water boring landscape overcrowding in urban centers

Diane Hunkle: (hand on hips) So you're supposed to be the new intern..ha, lets see how long you last. Now look we are no no sense you are expected to do what you are told and to be on time if not early. Make that always early. Some simple rules I hope you'll be able to understand, you will be here every morning by nine, come right to my desk for what to do. After a while we'll get you a information task sheet so I wont be bothered every morning. Rule two don't mess around get right down and do want you're supposed to do, rule three you will be given a max of two warnings before you are fired. (montions for Kate to follow) You will be serving under Jess, she has been working here for five years, one of your best journalists here in the odd news department. You will find very quickly unlike me she's more charming and friendly. Jess: Hello i'm Jess Piate', don't mind Diane to much she really doesn't like new interns finds them a hassle to deal with. Plus Diane for the past three years has been trying to get promoted from this department to the political review. Kate: My name's Kate Lugger. Jess: Lugger hmm..you aren't related to Lugger Financial anyhow? Kate: Oh that's my uncle i've only met him once after my grandma died, and that was ten years ago. Jess: Well I suppose I should teach you the ropes. As you'd expect here in the odd news department we do any news that the main news wont do, like the swear rate problem or a subway railing coated with chewed gum. Yea that's how we live around here. Compared to the other departments it's pretty laid back our stories hardly make it to the paper. After five years working her and about four hundred stories only one made it. Kate: So what am I supposed to do? Jess: Right now..uh..nothing really. Our stories deadline was about an hour ago so now its time just to relax. Kate: I was told this is inappropriate but i'll ask anyhow, how much do you get paid. Jess: Heck shouldn't you know how the pay system in the country works, each employee of a company is paid 0.001% of the companies total net profit. Well everyone like me and you if you get lucky are paid $4,465 a month. Interns I think is about half that. Kate: Of course where I come from that's a lot, i'm guessing here not the same. Jess: You are correct, my apartment is only 200 square feet yet costs me $500 a month. So have you found a place? Kate: Well yes, it is only to be temporary and cheap, around $150 a month. The place is called Mountie Bills' Cabins. Jess: My suggestion for you, when you get your first pay check at the end of the month get out of there, over the past year eighteen people have been killed around there. Not a good place to be living, full of drug dealers, prostitutes, rapists. (6 pm) Kate: thank you for helping me get to this place...I guess I may just take your advice. Jess: Please do so, this is not a place for you to live. The daily has had two interns killed here in the past. Get that pay check and find a better place. Also remember to be in by nine, no latter or you wont be off to a good start with Diane. Bus fee is one dollar, subway requires a pass which you can get at city hall for $80, good for one month. Well good luck and i'll see you tomorrow. 8 am Kate: (yawn) Oh what's the time? (jumps out of bed) Crap! I better hurry or I'll be late for my first day! Lucky for me I took a shower last night, just over due the perfume a bit get on some nice clothes and oh grab my purse. outside Kate: (looking down the street) Hmm should I take the subway or just walk, as the paper is only six blocks and the streets don't look that busy. (ponders for a second) Oh hell with it I'll walk, it will be some good exercise for me, maybe save time. (walks past the subway station) Good thing I did decide this lot of people waiting in line and no train just yet. six blocks and five minutes latter Kate: (walks into Dianes' office) Hello I'm here. Diane: (looks a bit surprised) Hmmff..this is a first no new intern's ever arrived early. Starting on a good streak with me so far, lets see how long it lasts. So what do you want? Kate: Um, yesterday you told me to see you... Diane: Yesss, your assignment sheet and it's up on that wall over there (points to the wall) no go to see Jess to get further instructions. Jess: (sitting in chair doing nothing) Ahh, you made it through the night, so are you ready? Kate: uh..ready for what? Jess: (shakes head while smiling) Forgot to look at the sheet. Oh well we're supposed to go on a special assignment. That if it's special in any way. Kate: So what are we doing? Jess: You'll see. Two blocks and six minutes latter Jess: This! (points to plaza) We're supposed to count for the next week how many pieces of trash is collected on the plaza here, fun job right but easy. Kate: (unsure) So we get to spend the next work week right here pretty much? Jess: Yep. Four days latter Jess: So we're now done with this "hard" report, so Kate how many pieces of trash collected here? Kate: Well we had about..jezz the city is bad about cleanliness, over seven thousand pieces. Jess: You might be, but i'm by far not surprised, well time to report our findings, like it'll matter that much. If it's a big problem we might be lucky to get in the paper! End Part 2
  15. In this CJ, you will often read about the showcased city's ranking on the UAI. This post is meant to explain that a little further. It will also be permanently added as a side block on this CJ for easy reference. The Urbanized Areas Index, or UAI is a tiered listing system for developed areas. Tier 1 - Tier 1 cities are metropolises with a population of 1 million or more. They are cities important on a global scale and are cultural and economic juggernauts. (ex. New York City, Chicago) Tier 2 - Tier 2 cities usually have a population of 100,000 to 1 million and are major metropolitan areas. They are anchor cities in a regional and national scale economies. (ex St. Louis, Nashville) Tier 3 - These cities usually have a population of 50,000 to 100,000 and are key cities of a metropolitan area. They are often anchor cities to a state's economy. (ex. Peoria, Illinois, Rochester, MN) Tier 4 - Tier 4 cities have a population of 20,000 to 50,000 and do not have a metropolitan area. They are fairly unimportant economically outside of their immediate area. Tier 5 - Tier 5 cities have a population under 20,000 and are officially titled "towns". These are the most numerous settlements and where most people in the country call home.
