I've been playing SC4 for 15 years, recently started using NAM to create real complicated interchanges so common in American cities. I think Chicago is maybe the easiest city to be replicated in the game as the blocks go in well-planned square shapes. Now I'm working on this city, with all the great works and models created by you fellows on simtropolis. Thank you for all, and hoping to finish a vivid replicate of Chicago as much as I can. Current progress. I'm starting from near west side and the heart of Chicago, then I will do the south side, north side and finally downtown. I made two iconic sunken highways of Chicago, Kennedy Expy and No.290 Expy, and theif intersection Jane M. Bryne Interchange using NAM. Railway authentic as well. University of Illinois, Chicago Goose Island, still working on it. I'm form China and never really been to Chicago, so please give any opinion to make my work more vivid. Will keep updating my work.

Las Vegas in SimCity 3000. Full of gambling and other crazy stuff to do. The suburbs are filled with rich gated communities with golf courses and beautiful green parks. Money and power controls this city in the middle of the desert. Population: 592.723 Created by SimCityHawk -

El Paso & Ciudad Juárez in SimCity 3000. Two cities on each side of the border. El Paso is situated north of the border and the troubled Ciudad Juarez is situated south of the border. El Paso has a high level of control and is a functioning and civilized city. Ciudad Juárez, however, is the world's most dangerous city outside of a war zone. Therefore, crime is booming and the police are almost non existent.-

I'm planning on making a to-scale, as-exact-as-possible replica of the city I currently live in.(Orlando, Florida.) I'm sort of taking an inventory of what I need at the moment. RHW, I think some rail expansion collections, a lot of BATs that fit the feel of suburbs and such. A few things are bugging me, however. What would you say is the best way to recreate a gated community in SC4? I can get some bats for the right condominium feel, but are there good gates and such to base it on? Another thing; what kind of scale should I be taking the maps at? I can pull maps from google earth data(which is a pain in the ass due to the sea level disparities, but I can manage,) but I'm not sure from what level I should take the shots to get sim city to scale streets the right width. What is the best way to make large streets? Not a lot of things qualify as "avenues" in Orlando, since there aren't many widely-divided streets, but there are a lot of roadways with 6 lanes which aren't really highways, either. Lots of transitions from 6 to 4 to 3 to 2 lanes, as well, and I'm a bit worried about that. Any tips on getting extra-wide streets? Favorite puzzle piece sets? Road curving; I'll need to use modding for that, right? A lot of roads here are built to curve around lakes. That's not very well supported by SC4's mechanics. Any favorites or suggestions for curves? If something else comes up, I'll post more about the challenges and progress I make. I realize it's probably going to take a long time, but it seems like a fun challenge.
