  1. # Hello; - My name is Jonathan, and today I want to present you my biggest SimCity project. I have this project on my head since I started to play SimCity, even I started this project during the 2006 but I had to leave it because I couldn't get the result that I did want. I am a perfectionist and wanted to do the best New York in SimCity but I did not have the necessary knowledge level. During all these years I've been playing SimCity and trying to make better every single part of the game, more realistic and more visual, almost like a real city. Somebody maybe can remember my recreation of Berlin, or all my Japanese cities, even my first recreation Hong Kong, it had been quite successful here in simtropolis...during these last two years I have been working on my best project called "Windows on the World" with this project, I try to make real or imaginary places around the world and now it's turn to New York city. Now I have everything that I need to make the best recreation of this city, also I have a lot of new ideas to make this Recreation even more special, I just need all your support and all your advices to make this recreation even better. - I decided start here this project because I am another NYBT member since it was created, and one of my main goals was to make this, a large window to show all the buildings created by my team mates. I just hope you can enjoy with this project, I just want to show New York city, my favorite city in the world, one of my dreams since I was a child and the main reason I started to play SimCity 4. ##################################################################### # In this topic we will see the current progress of the recreation. This will be a very slow recreation because I have to create and plop every single building, park or road and I spent a lot of time making the lots and even sometimes I need to create some little models on 3ds max, so for that reason please be patient, the result will be better and much realistic. I will try to update with every new picture what I have on my hands and when the city is large and it is evolved I will do major updates showing one by one the most famous and important points of the city, even I'm thinking of creating a youtube channel to make the city more real, let's see what happen in the future with this. # Well I think that's all for the presentation of the project, so I hope you support me and together we can make the most realistic New York city recreation, Thank you so much and Greetings ##################################################################### || Welcome to - Recreating New York city by Kelistmac ||
  2. Version ESP15 Hearst Tower

    1,693 Downloads

The Hearst Tower is a building with the addresses of 300 West 57th Street and 959 Eighth Avenue,[2] near Columbus Circle, in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It is the world headquarters of Hearst Communications, housing the numerous publications and communications companies of the media conglomerate under one roof, including, among others, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, and Seventeen. The six-story base of the headquarters building was commissioned by the founder, William Randolph Hearst, and awarded to the architect Joseph Urban. The building was completed in 1928[3] at a cost of $2 million and contained 40,000 square feet (3,700 m2). The original cast stone facade has been preserved in the new design as a designated Landmark site. Originally built as the base for a proposed skyscraper, the construction of the tower was postponed due to the Great Depression. The new tower addition was completed nearly eighty years later, and 2,000 Hearst employees moved in on June 26, 2006. Is a Landmark version. I'm sorry for my failure to load. I have done it again and I hope it will work now. I hope you like it. thanks for everything! Model sourced from the 3D Warehouse, created by Google Geo Models.

Goods! It's 4:00 AM, and I, very vicious with this, my first 3D model of my life. Believe me (or I believe), I never thought I could do this, because my pc is oldStart with this 3 days ago. First, it was learning how to $%&^! how to make a simple box! Then, with some ingenuity, I could start to shape it. When I saw this walking, start all over again, trying to be as orderly as possible, and there it goes. I plan to do everything in the flat and then give it height, build the sides (which I have seen are very detailed). Aaaaa the textures... the UV Mapper, all these thing drives me carzy.. And well. Nothing. Jajaja. In the end I will need some modeler with a powerful computer so that it can render as many polygons, if someone offers, enchanted (? Ah, y maeby tomorrow post a new entry about Battery Park City, now that I know modeler, umm Bye Bye!
  7. Battery Park, NY

Hi Simtropolitans! Today, I will start sharing this recreacion that began some months ago. I will seek information about the various places of the city, to know better this amazing New york, hand SC4. Many of the buildings and monuments do not have in st exchangue, and there are things I had to imagine and devise, to have a greater similarity. However, I must say that thanks to the amount of bats recreated to perfection by the many fans of SC4, motivated me to want to know, and recreate the city. Let's start with Battery Park I hope you enjoy *********************************************************************************************************************************************** Battery Park is a park of 10 hectares (25 acres) located south of Manhattan bordering Financial District. It is the most important green space that includes the best view of the city of New York as the Statue of Liberty. Derives its name from the row of cannons in the seventeenth century, the British placed along State Street. Intersection between State St. Pearl St. , and Bridge St. Building One Battery Park Plaza. Intersection between Broadway, Battery Pl, and State Streets. It also has a full tour of monuments with historical texts that allow tourists to learn more about the history of the city, and other statues. Among the most important monuments, it noted the Clinton Castle, completed in 1811, today used for ticket sales ferries for trips to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, formerly was used as an aquarium, and its earliest beginnings was used as strong for the invaders attacks. You can also find there Sphere, a metal structure that was formerly simply ornamenta in the area of the twin towers and today, along with an eternal flame, is a monument in memory of those who lost their lives in the attack September 11. It is the East Coast Memorial, a sculpture in the form of eagle that honors the memory of those who died in World War II and more structures. The Sphere, in the upper right corner East Coast Memorial Because of its location in front of the Statue of Liberty and comfortable view also offers its benches, the park is also used for concerts and activities. When should be Castle Clinton Intersection Battery Pl St. and Little W St. To the northwest is the neighborhood of Battery Park City, a planned community built between 1970 and 1980. Along with the Hudson River Park, a system of bicycle paths and walkways extending to the shore of the Hudson River. A bike path is being built through the park, connecting the Hudson River and the East River. Battery Farm This brings us to the end of the first part of the entry about Battery Park. Coming soon de second part, and development of Battery Park City, that it to say, Rector Park Residential Neighborhood, Gateway Plaza, Battery Place Residential Neighborhood, WFC and Joseph Chapel. Saludos desde Buenos Aires! and I welcome your comments!

Update: I scaled up the model to a proper scale to match the scale factor the team uses. You could simply replace all the files when redownloading. There's no need to demolish any lots. The only real change is the model file and it should simply replace the older one easily. NYBT presents- Home Insurance Plaza(version 2!) Around 2010, I created Home Insurance Plaza from NYC for NYBT, but now I felt that a new and improved version was necessary and thus here it is. Home Insurance Plaza is an International Styled skyscraper located in the Financial District of New York City, or in Lower Manhattan. Specifically, it is a block behind One Chase Manhattan Plaza and towers above and behind the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It was built to house(no pun intended ) the Home Insurance Company. Constructed in 1966, HIP was one of the first International Styled skyscrapers to be built in Downtown following the wake of One Chase Manhattan Plaza(in 1960). It's facade include white brick strips and darker spandrels. It also features a windowless "core" or outer core. The set up of the building, its core and it's main part, is similar to the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building which was designed by the same person that crafted the design of HIP. Home Insurance Plaza also features a mural on one of its blind walls. The Liberty Mural I believe it's called. Home Insurance Plaza shares a city block with 3 other buildings that are all connected to each other. However, for the upload only HIP is included. Stats- CO$$ Jobs- 4,504 Lot Size- 5x3 Growth Stage- 8 Growable only. No ploppables 2 Lots are included, one grows on corners, while the other doesn't have to grow on corners. Dependencies- NYBT Essentials BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 1 (Must be registered at SC4 Devotion to download this, if you do not have it already.) Notes- I'd recommend deleting the previous version of Home Insurance Plaza from your Plugins Folders and cities before downloading this one. There could be conflicts having both but I'm not sure. This building is meant to be mainly W2W though there will be an alley. It's meant to be on an urban block with multiple buildings but it can be used as a stand alone tower, though I'd recommend having it sharing a city block with other tall buildings. Hope you all will enjoy this one! -Sgt Pepper

  10. NYC R22 TRAIN SET

    Version 1.0.0

    15,531 Downloads

The New York City subway system used to have a huge diversity of train car models from clean to graffiti filled and grimey. That gave NYC a unique flavor. My aim with this series is to bring that diversity to train systems in Cities Skylines starting with the R22 model of the SMEE fleet now retired and sadly most cars are sitting on the bottom of the Atlantic. But now they are brought back in service for Cities Skylines! For more information on the history of the SMEE Fleet from R-12 to R36, you can find more info here http://www.nycsubway.org/wiki/The_IRT_SMEE_Fleet_(R-12_--_R-36) This is a set of 4 trains: Cities Skylines Edition, The White Shuttle, The Brooklyn Shuttle, and The RedBird. IMPORTANT TIP: I left these trains at the default 24 speed so it does not disrupt any regional train line traffic. However, the default speed is very unrealistic and you would not appreciate the liveries as intended. I strongly suggest using these trains on their own inner city lines separate from the regional ones and use Advanced Vehicle Options http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=442167376 along with Improved Public Transportation http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=424106600 In AVO, set the brakes and acceleration to .5 and the speed to 50. Make sure all trains on the same line are at the same speed. Then use IPT to control which liveries service your lines with precision. But you don't have to use them as I suggested. They can also run regional or however you like. To install .rar files, extract into a folder and copy/paste into your assets folder You can also get these trains at my Steam Workshop https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198185148005/myworkshopfiles/ Special thanks to Cool_Z aka Zed68 aka Tony_R for his tremendous help. Also Sheltoe and BaskB who helped me through some tough times during beta testing. And Azurespecter, Michae95l, and Ized for support.
  11. Hi guys, Based on a recent thread, and after more than 10 years playing, and being a member from 2006, I want to share my knowledge of the game. I dont know how to BAT, but I do try my best at supporting the NYBT team, and at the same time, receive support from them, and from members like MAGNETO, who has been of great help in creatin a mod for me. Now, I come to you guys, with one intention only, to create a tutorial on recreating a Real Life City (RLC) in simcity 4. Of course, limitations are gonna be present, but, we are here to find a way to overcome them, and finally get the results we want. The concept is simple. You fill the poll above, and based on the answers we get, we will start this project. After you completed the poll, post the city you voted, and what part of it you want to start with. This is a long term project, thats why you gotta tell me what part comes first, and of course, it will be open to the rest who want to participate after. Please, I encourage you to participate, and form part of this. If done correctly, we will have a thread you dont wanna miss, and will definetly get your attention!! Lets start!!
  12. i think it would be realy neat if someone could build the Park Central Hotel. The one in New York City. The Park Central Hotel is a historic 31-story hotel on 7th Av between 55th and 56th Streets in Midtown Manhattan. Built in the late-twenties, its grand opening took place on June 12, 1927. It occupies the entire east half of the city block between 7th Av and Broadway. It is located across the street from Carnigie Hall, and is placed right between Times Square and Central Park. Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_Central_Hotel Pics: https://www.google.com/search?newwindow=1&biw=1366&bih=664&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=park+central+hotel+ny&oq=park+central+hotel+ny&gs_l=img.12..0l2j0i24l8.41882.44577.0.45789.12.11.1.0.0.0.137.1151.1j10.11.0....0...1c.1.32.img..1.11.1030.a2zP5-DJStM Its a real neat building and nice hotel. Ive personaly stood there twice. And i think it would awesome if someone could re-create it for SC4.
  13. Manhattan on development

Alright guys... long time no see... Well, to be honest, I had some time this last month to play simcity, it wasnt much, but I took advantage of those little moments I had. I know, its been too long, and its ok for you guys to think this was done, but Im here to prove you wrong. I remember on the last update's comments, people were eager to see development, and I remember I did post some testing. So before I give you the pics (10+) I will tell you the things I had to do in order to show you what I currently have. Even before so, I want to tell you guys, that Im not gonna do a reply section yet, cause I think I did a little one last update, and to be honest, Im considering this as a new start (development wise). Im still working on the street layout, still working on every detail to get as much as i can. So, now that we have that out of the way, there are a couple things you should know: 1) Every building in here was zoned, I dont like plopping, except for buildings that really are iconic (landmarks) or buildings that need to be somewhere and I cant make them grow. If thats not the case, I like growing things because... 2) I spent a lot of time seeing google earth, google maps, and every possible map to make sure that I zone everything according to the real manhattan. To be honest, this is the reason why it took so long, cause I made sure to zone according to the real city. Of course, I did download a variety of buildings to make sure I had the things I needed to grow, and to make sure zoning that way would make sense. So everything you see is basically the real Manhattan. There are some buildings that grew in the right place, but are not exactly the same as real life, of course that is, because of simcity 4 limitations, and because there arent enought models in the stex 3) I gotta thank a million this person... AARON GRAHAM! without you, this wouldnt be possible... variations, models... everything is on you buddy! 4) There are gonna be some blanks in the pics. Those spaces are reserved for buildings, schools, police stations, etc.. basically anything that needs to be plopped so its being reserved for when I get to it... probably not in the next update, but the following to that. Now, without any further... I give you the pics, and I really hope you enjoy... it would crazy to see LOTS OF PEOPLE for this update, since as I said before, I consider it special... West side overview... Notice, some buildings are gonna change.. since this pic was taken 2 days ago... Closeup on the area... Now, notice on this pic and the one above... central park is empty... to be honest, I really prefer to see some development, and then work on the park... plus, the west side wasnt suppose to develop, but I guess is good to see some development in here too... This is how it looks now... some rezoning... west side... 75th... As you can see... low rises, more like w2w homes... just like the real one... NEXT!! Overview on the east side development... notice the blank spots are reserved... and there is a block I have to de-zone to make room for a school... sorry for that guys... Now, as you can see.. there are some streets... that is because... Im testing LOOKS VS ONE WAY FUNCTIONALITY... streets give me that look full of trees between buildings... so I guess Im gonna keep it up with streets... of course NAM is running on EXTRA SUPER HIGH.. so streets can handle traffic really well... its a shame there arent one way streets... that would be so cool... or make one way roads have a street texture... anyways.. moving on... A comparison between the 2 sides... you can clearly see the difference between east an west side... just like in real life.. the east is more developed in terms of height... sorry Im missing the central park buildings on the west... Im working step by step... 5th Avenue's buildings... these grew just fantastic... they resemble the real 5th avenue really really good... really proud of how those buildings popped up.. Now, Im gonna leave you with some closeups... of 3rd... 2nd... just a mix... enjoy... Well... thats it for today... I really hope you enjoy... IM REALLY SORRY FOR DILAPIDATION... there isnt enough people... diserability on those buildings was low... so they kinda took off... but those are landmarks.. so they had to be plopped... I guess I will plop them again once I have enough people to support them... Anyways... thank you guys for stopping by... hope you enjoy the update... LOVING NEW YORK!! how about you people???

UPDATED: Please redownload and replace this version with the new one. You may have to demolish the old version. The model and desc. files are different, but the lot is the exactly the same. NYBT Presents, One Chase Manhattan Plaza by Sgt Pepper. One Chase Manhattan Plaza is a banking skyscraper for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. It is located in the Financial District of New York City in Lower Manhattan. It is situated behind 40 Wall Street, and has close proximity to Wall Street itself. It is a glossy, slim, tower at about 60 stories tall and around over 813 feet tall. It was one of the first International Styled Skyscrapers to be built in Lower Manhattan or Downtown New York. Construction began in 1957 and was completed around 1960. Designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings And Merrill, Gordon is also known for designing the Lever House on Park Avenue. Chase Manhattan Plaza takes it's appearance from an earlier SOM project in Chicago, the Inland Steel Building. It's sparkly design and modern appeal made it stand out from the older, darker stone clad skyscrapers in Downtwon. It was certainly a skyscraper ahead of its time, and is currently an NYC landmark. 345 Seventh Avenue is a neo-classical highrise in the Garment District in Manhattan, New York. It rises 24 stories and 93.7m above ground and houses retail restaurants and commercial offices. It was designed by John H. Knubel and built in 1929. 345 Sevent Avenue comes in a CO$$ version as well as a IM version to stay true to the nature of this and similar buildings in the area. 16. NYBT Bankers Trust Funds

    Version

    8,175 Downloads

NYBT presents- a somewhat fantasy building called Bankers Trust Funds. This building is loosely inspired by 14 Wall Street in New York. It's an art-deco styled building with a pyramid roof. About 30 stories tall. It's meant to be a pinnacle to an urban city block, or even a crown jewel of a small but old skyline. NYBT is going to start mixing uploads that are either recreations or fantasy NY-styled buildings. So this will be one of the first. It's meant to grow on corners. Though the building isn't W2W, it tightly fits its lot so it could blend a little in a W2W environment but it can stand on its own. Le Statz- Occupant Type: High Wealth Commercial Office Occupant Count: 1204 Lot Size: 2x2 Corner Dependencies: For the NYBT Query, download this http://community.sim...ybt-essentials/ I haven't tested the BAT without it but I'd recommend downloading it just in case, and for a nifty query our good member Gwail made. Otherwise, there's no other dependencies. I hope you all will enjoy this one! Edited a typo...I put of instead of or. :s
  17. Big Winds in the Big Apple

"Blow wind, come wrack/At least we'll die with harness on our back" -- Wm. Shakespeare Lots of damage but no one was killed, which is truly fortunate. Twisters in NYC? If people don't think this was a weird summer, this confirms it.

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the site!
