Ben Rose House, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Made famous by the 1986 movie, 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', the Ben Rose House is a modernist residence designed by architect James Speyer in Highland Park, Illinois, for Ben and Francis Rose. The steel, timber and glass house was built in 1953 and sits surrounded by many trees overlooking a ravine. A separate pavilion was built in 1974. The house was recently put on the market, and despite representing stunning modernist design, failed to secure buyers. In addition to the interiors of the house requiring modernisation, the main reason that was given for lack of buyer interest was the two separate pavilions: while visually charming, this is quite impractical during winter in many temperate locations, let alone the bitter weather that Chicago often experiences. The house eventually sold after many years on the market and substantial discounting. To that end, I have added a glass walkway to connect the two pavilions, so this house is by no means a replica. This BAT is offered as a Mayor's house. There are two different versions included in the download: you can keep one or both, and both can be used at the same time in the same city if you wish. The first version is a 6x6 heavily wooded lot with a custom foundation that is designed to be placed on hillsides. This gives the mayor a perfectly private sanctuary overlooking his or her city. The second version is a 4x4 lot without a custom foundation that is designed for more level ground and has far fewer trees: this version is more suited to areas which are more urban, or for those who predominantly play on flat areas. Like the in-game Mayor's House, both lots are found in the Rewards Menu and have a separate icon and description to easily distinguish between the two versions. Placing this reward will boost surrounding desirability for business and residential, raise demand caps, provide jobs, and provide both landmark and park effects. It needs road, power and water. There are no restriction as to how often these lots can be placed and this reward will not over-write, or interfere with, any other mayor house rewards (including the in-game version). --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size: 4x4 or 6x6 Plop Cost: § 4,550 Bulldoze Cost: § 730 Monthly Cost: § 45 Wealth: High Park Effect: 150 over 60 tiles Landmark Effect: 120 over 60 tiles Mayor Rating: 8 over 220 tiles Pollution at Centre: 1 (air) /1 (water) /5 (garbage) Pollution Radius: 2/3/0 Demand Created: R§ 5, R§§ 10, R§§§ 2 Power Consumed: 24 Mwh Water Consumed: 32 Gallons Occupant Groups: Reward; Mayors House --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: To ensure proper functionality, make sure the following files are in your plugins folder: *BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1180) *BSC Mega Props - CP Vol02.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2790) *BSC Texture Pack - Cycledogg V01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=101) --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the file into your plugins folder. -

Ortho Rail, Bus and Subway Station Transport Hub, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This is a fictional high capacity through rail and subway station designed to provide transport links with the orthogonal STR and DTR railways. Owing to the unique way I have designed this station means that in addition to being placed on flat terrain like most stations, it can also be used as a sunken STR/DTR station or as a raised berm STR/DTR station. It will work with most levels of the hole digger or raiser lots that come with the NAM, although visually it looks best between -15m and +15m. (Meaning it will work with +/- 5m, +/- 7.5m, +/- 10, +/- 15m, etc, etc). Now you can have a fully functioning station for any sunken depth or any raised height. This is quite unlike my earlier sunken station from 2011 which forced you to use a -15m trench. The station can easily be placed under NAM overpasses and works with default Maxis rail or the RRW re-skin. Freight will also pass through this station. This single lot handles all of these options to save on menu clutter. While I have made many multifunction stations before, this really is something quite different from all of my previous stations given how many uses one single lot can have. The platform area is a large overhanging prop and the railway station also provides a link to the subway and bus network. You do not have to link the subway or bus functions if you don't want to; the station functions perfectly with just a rail and road connection. However, a bus connection enables sims to use other bus stops on your city tile to get to the station, and connecting to your subway will allow SIMs to switch trip types to get to and from work in the quickest possible time. Having the subway function enables the station to cope with dense inner city applications, while the bus connection is great for outer suburban areas. The freight connection also enables it to be useful for farming communities. But, as stated previously, the station works perfectly with just a rail and road connection. To place, simply line up the station with the rail network and plop down. You then repeat the process on the other side of the tracks. Or you can leave the other side blank if you wish, either option works just fine (which is why this is also suitable for STR). If you have used the diagonal and FAR-3 versions of this station, then you are already familiar with the process for placement. You can then use car park fillers, ped mall pieces, parks/mmps or just plain old zoning to decorate the surrounding area as per the pictures. If you are using the station as a sunken or raised station, then fill the adjacent tiles with your favourite walls or even MMPs. The best thing about these stations is that you can have the platforms placed underneath NAM road overpasses and the sims will then use the elevated networks as well. The stations also provide 33 jobs: there are underground stairways adjacent to the entrance to provide access from one platform to another or just to cross the tracks :-) If you want a seamless look in all of your rail networks, I have also released a diagonal version and a FAR-3 version using this design. --------------------------------------- STATS Rail, Bus Station & Subway: Lot size : 1 x 2 Plop Cost: §200 Monthly Cost: §5 Budget Item: Mass Transit Menu: Rail Capacity: 130,000 Demand Created: Jobs§: 30, Jobs§§: 3, Jobs§§§: 0. Bulldoze Cost: §10 --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must choose only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: This lot requires no dependencies. --------------------------------------- OPTIONAL DEPENDENCIES: *SC4Fix: third-party patches (https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/30883-sc4fix-third-party-patches-for-SC4/). If you use the NAM, you will want this file as it eliminates the CTD bug that causes the game to crash when network/transit enabled lots are hovered over each other. --------------------------------------- INSTALLATION: Copy/Extract the BSC parent folder into your plugins. If you extracted the ~Documents folder into you plugins too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder. Thanks, and enjoy!- 5 Comments

This is a set of growable homes inspired by SC2013. They come in 15 different color variations and sit on a total of 15 lots. A custom building foundation has been created (including nightlights), so the lots are slope-friendly. A foundation will extend on a slopy terrain. Each lot comes with the house as a prop family (separated only into color and neutral) to enhance variety. There are lots for the colorfuls and lots for the neutrals, so you can choose to use either or both at the same time. Available in Maxis night and DarkNite. Warning: you can only use one version at a time! The lots come in different sizes in growth stages 1 - 4. They have no dependencies, except of SimFox' DarkNite Mod for the DarkNite version. Tileset: New York & Chicago Credits: T Wrecks & SimCoug for testing Special thanks to SimCoug, Aaron Graham and over at SC4D to callagrafx and c.p. for their help during the foundation creation process ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Oct 26 2016 - no edit on the file itself, title of entry amended to avoid search engine unfriendly term (style)- 40 Comments
