I have very little experience with batting but I want to improve my batting skill and hopefully release some decent BATs in the near future. I cannot say right now how dedicated I'll be, but we shall see! I'm planning on modelling mostly low to medium density and low wealth buildings (C$ and R$) and possibly some medium wealth buildings later on. I'll try to model versatile buildings from major Latin American cities (but mostly from Lima and Santiago) so that they can fit in a 'general' or stereotypical latin american city. As you may know, many latin american cities share a lot of the same architecture but there are some differences nevertheless. I have two current projects for the moment: one 1x1 C$ W2W building and one 1x2 C$ W2W building. Both are based on real buildings located in Santiago, Chile (1x1 building and 1x2 building). The modelling is done(?) so now I have to apply the textures. I'm not aiming for exact replicas by the way. 1rst BAT: house and small restaurant 2nd BAT: Mini market/apartments, mini gas distribution center, apartments Now, I have some questions/doubts: 1 - I don't know how I should model or texture the restaurant so that it looks like the real one (link above) 2- I have no clue how the roofs should look like. Keep in mind that in many of these older Chilean buildings there is no AC system (in this case, since these buildings are in Santiago, they might have a gas heating system, but I'm not sure).
  2. R$ Pack Santiaguino 1

    Version 1.0.2

I present to you my first housing pack based on various old buildings throughout Santiago, Chile. These are all low-wealth, low density residential w2w houses. They grow on 1x1 and 1x2 lots. There are a total of 34 unique lots, as you can see in the pictures. If you like these houses, you may also like my other BATs that I'm currently working on. You can check them out here. If you have any questions, or comments, please let me know! Edit: I noticed I used an old picture for the primary screenshot. The textures on the last picture for the last set of houses are the final version, not the ones on the main picture. This is the only slight difference. Edit 2: ...I also noticed that I've uploaded this file to the wrong category. It should fall under "SimCity 4 Buildings (BATs)".
  3. Approximately at 18:35 UTC -3 a 7.1 Mw earthquake hit central Chile, specifically 72 km offshore Valparaíso and 33 km deep. Initially the ONEMI (i.e. the Chilean FEMA) called for a preventive tsunami evacuation, which was cancelled just minutes after, due to the small magnitude. Neither official sources nor the press report building damage or injured people, but the Valparaíso metro has paused its service preventively. The earthquake came after what's called a 'seismic swarm', a series of minor tremors on the same fault line, on a short time span.

Brief Introduction This pack contains five models based on real life houses found throughout Santiago, Chile. I've included a variety of different architectural styles corresponding to different decades. Basic Information - Lot sizes: 1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 1x3. - Stages: 1, 2, 3 and 4. - Tileset: all - Standard Maxis Nightlights. Dependencies More than one dependency this time. Please note that you have to be registered in order to download the files at the LEX (I guess most of you already are). BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 -- really popular, most of you should already have this. BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 02 -- again, quite popular. LBT Mega Prop Pack vol.01 -- same as the last two. Also, you should already have this if you've downloaded my previous files. Romualdillo Props VOL01 -- this should be the only dependency that you probably don't have yet. I also suggest checking out Romualdillo's incredibly detailed and superb spanish houses here. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!

Brief Introduction This mini pack consists of medium wealth homes based on real life houses located in the traditional commune of Providencia in Santiago, Chile. These house were designed to fit in a W2W urban environment, just like in real life. Basic information - Lot sizes: 1x2 (corner), 1x1 (corner), 2x2 and 2x1. - Stages: 2, 3 and 4. - Tileset: all. Dependencies - Only one (which I'll stick to for future projects): Note I've included several versions for the corner house (last model in the pictures), so that you can choose which one to delete, if any. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado AMARILLO CALAMINA - Yellow version with tin roof. Like in real life. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado AMARILLO TEJAS - Yellow version with roof tiles. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado BLANCO CALAMINA - White version with tin roof. Like in real life. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado BLANCO TEJAS - White version with roof tiles. Furthermore, I've included R$$$ versions since in real life the house is located in the commune of Providencia, home to upper middle income and high income families. The meaning of the R$$$ versions is the same as above. If you feel like these houses don't look like R$$$ homes, then simply delete the "R$$$..." folders. I recommend you to abstain from deleting the "R$$..." folders since they contain the sc4model files. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!

Veredas Santiaguinas A sidewalk mod made by matias93 Este mismo texto está en español adentro del archivo! AKNOWLEGDEMENTS: This mod couldn't be possible without the impressing work of Rivit and MGB204 (rsc204), creators of GoFSH and the (not yet published) Automated Sidewalk Mod. To make a mod as big as this by hand, as many other creators had done before, is a titanical task that deserves sheer aknowlegdement; I just created a couple of textures and clicked buttons once and then. DESCRIPTION: This textures are inspired in the 'veredas' or sidewalks that were built around 1980 in Santiago, Chile: they are little concrete tiles with geometrical designs, that form big square shapes using black or red tiles. In the game, I chose to keep an uniform colour, trying to avoid the sudden colour changes that make Maxis' textures so unappealing; instead, only coloured tiles change with wealth level, as the general condition of the sidewalk: ochre tiles with clean and orange-y concrete in high wealth sidewalks, red burgundy squares and grey concrete in mid-wealth textures, and blackish borders with stained concrete in the low-wealth sidewalk. Thanks to MGB204's scripts, this mod can change all textures that correspond originally to Maxis' white tiles: sidewalks on all streets, roads and avenues (including RHW intersections), crossings with all other networks, pedmalls, plazas and residential, commercial, industrial and services' lots; it is even compatible with the new additions on NAM 34. An important exception are GLR (tramway) tracks, that get sorrounded by the new texture but not completely replaced. Depending on the existence of more advanced scripts, this could change in a newer version. INSTRUCTIONS: <-- Jump here if you don't like the details This mod has to be installed MANUALLY. Is not enough to copy and paste everything: you'll end with a cluttered folder and surely your prefered networks will be oddly patched. Copy the folder called z___veredasstgo to your Plugins folder (the one that is on My Documents/Documents/). It is preferable that you delete all other sidewalk mods, but the folder is named in a way that will load it the last, overwriting other conflictive textures. Open the folder you just copied and delete the files you won't use: a. "Veredas Stgo BASE" chenges most street, road and avenue sidewalks, so you should keep it. b. "Veredas Stgo sitios y plazas (LOTS)" change the lots' textures, allowing a more uniform result. You should keep it; delete it only if you prefer to use another texture on lots and plazas. c. "Veredas Stgo NAM" folders will only work if you had installed the Network Addon Mod (very recommended); YOU MUST KEEP ONLY ONE FOLDER. Choose the one that corresponds to the driving side your game uses (LHD: on the left as in the United Kingdom, RHD: on the right as in Europe), and to the roads' lines colour (US: yellow lines as in the United States, EU: white lines as in Europe). Open the folder you had kept: there you'll find one or two more folders with options: a. Open the folder called "Rail Options" and delete the files that doesn't match the kind of rail tracks you use: Maxis, PEG or RealRailway (RRW). There shall to be just two files, with the same ending. b. Only if you have installed EU white lines with the NAM, open "TuLEP Options" folder and delete all the files that doesn't match to the TuLEP textures you installed with the NAM. Most surely you are using Maxis default ones, but make sure it is that way. There shall to be just two files, with the same name after the "TuLEP". Close the folder "z___veredasstgo". If you use DATpacker or other program that packs your plugins, get sure not to pack this folder, unless you are certain no other mod could overwrite this textures. DEPENDENCIES: This mod replaces textures without using any dependency. You can extract the textures to use it as dependencies for other creations, but they aren't currently in the right format to do so. COMPATIBILITY: This mod cannot be used with any other sidewalk mod, unless you combine it deleting parts of each one; if you know how to do that, you aren't surely reading this instructions. This mod also don't work with plugins that change some textures that seems non-modified after using. I'm refering particularly to MGB204's Super Light Asphalt AddOns; it changes the GLR textures already modified by this mod, and depending on the loading order, it could result on this mod overwriting MGB's one completely, or his mod changing GLR side textures to ML's Super Light Asphalt, which is lighter and non tiled. Anyway, is your option to test with this, but you are warned. LICENSE: This mod has a Creative Commons Attribution - Non Commercial 4.0 International licence, what means you can use all its content directly or creating something derivately, while you give explicit attribution to all previous authors, and while you don't charge for accessing or using this content or a derivate you create of it. To create the textures, I used a tile texture made by Patrick Hoesly, a dirt texture by dfass12 and a grass one that is on the public domain. SUPPORT and HELP: I made a development and support thread on Simtropolis, you can visit it with the following link:

G'Day Simtropians, Today something strange happened on the way to the forum... A couple of weeks ago Flamingshadow556 requested a map, thankyou. This morning upon checking the aforementioned forum I spotted Blade had also been requested for the very same map and it was also ready to be uploaded as well. This is a bit of a perplexing situation and a few emails later has been sorted. So without further ado I present my version of Santiago, Capital of Chile. Both of the maps have enough of a difference that they are not exact, Blade's is smaller and mine includes some fair dinkum mountain sim country with elevations up to 4952m. So in a day or two or three threre will be another map of Santiago, Capital of Chile. Different but similar. choice is good. See this map up CLOSE and personal. The details, This was produced with dem and satellite data and utilises 16bit mapping technology. As such it's in .SC4M format and requires Wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer to import it into SC4. It measures 69.632km x 65.536km and is terrain and scale accurate. Instructions are in the readme along with a few links. (Feel free to use them, no cost.) I think that's all Cheers

G'Day Simtropians, Todays map I am presenting was requested by Nerdthisname and is of Concepción and Talcahuano, Chile. It has an interesting and chequered history since being founded in 1550. It is the second largest city of Chile and after the earthquake in February were more than 500 people were killed, it was displaced by 3 metres. See this map up CLOSE and personal. This real world map was produced with dem and satellite data and utilises 16bit mapping technology. It is in .SC4M format and requires Wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer to import it into one's game. It is terrain and scale accurate. Instructions along with some links are in the readme. That's all I think. Cheers
