    The SimPeg Agricultural Mod (SPAM) is an absolute, total and complete replacement for the game-default farming system. The default system was never really finished before game release and was, in fact, designed to be short-lived and used only initially in starter cities. The game, as it progresses, actually is designed to kill off all desire and usefulness for farming. We changed all that. Not only have we changed how all the farms look... but we also changed how they play. Originally in a city, you could hug a tree... or kiss the sky with glass and steel. Now... you can do both. At its most basic function and goal, the SPAM is an IND MTP Replacement Mod... similar to the RES and COM MTP replacement mods.   3. SPAM Farms with CAM

    (sorry for mistakes, I'm not a native english speaker) HI! I'm playing with CAM and Colossus Farming for agricultural variety, and I like it a lot. But now I want to play more Vanilla style with visual variety as well. I think SPAM is right choice, because farms look much more vanilla, but obviously I can't use CAM and SPAM at the same time. So, do I need just to grab all these SPAM Core Lots from Core Lots folder and recompute them through PIM-X? I think I also must delete MAIN folder of SPAM to get rid of RCI changes, right? I'm not such a modder (little by little getting familliar with Reader), but want to fine tune most of the mods for my liking, so I seek some advice

  6. I'm using SPAM and I still have a lot of AG demand. I have a city of about 600,000 people and average EQ is about 180-190. I'm curious if there are any huge agricultural job sink plugins that are compatible with SPAM? Thanks!
  7. So, I'm bringing this up, for a few reasons actually, but, I'm seriously wondering if maybe work on something like this should be done? First, I've already had an idea for something like this for a while, and been wanting to implement it, but, it's taken a bit of time trying to get many of the ideas together for it, and the key aspects, but, I've got quite a few notes, and if people are actually interested in this, I can open a new thread in the SC4 - Custom Content board. To add on to this, I've been coming across some rather interesting mods that I think would be great to have unified in the game. There's the big ones: CAM, NAM, SPAM, IRM, AMPS, and even DAMN. But, there's also some smaller ones, such as Paeng's Industrial Facelift mod, and some wonderful Maxis relots and updated lots (such as the Maxis Seasonal Lots). Of course, it's not just these either. Like, we've now got a couple OpenSC4 projects going, along with various other projects, such as the CAM Revival Project, which are great in my opinion. But, I'm thinking that we need to work on unifying everything. I know it's a lot to ask for, but, we're certainly seeing more players make requests of such things as having SPAM and CAM actually work together (among many other smaller requests). I myself am working on my own little project, which if I can get it done the way I'd like, would simply be a stepping stone to the bigger project that I've got in mind. And this leaves us with a couple of questions: Would it be a good idea to start this unification project? and (arguably the more important one) Would people be willing to shift their efforts on the mods they're currently on to help unify everything? Keep in mind a few things here: As mentioned before, I've got ideas for what can be done, and even how to solve some of the problems that'll likely plague this project NAM would very likely be the one exception to this unification project due to it's ongoing work, and of course due to how solid it is. I can't even begin to fathom the kind of work needed to get the NAM to conform to this project (it might be the other way to some extent) All work on current and active mods would not be dropped/ignored, but, shifted to work towards unifying everything. And I'm bringing this up, because I'm beginning to feel as though I don't really have much time to suggest this before we get past a point of major resistance, where most of the work towards these other mods will have been done, and that editing/adjusting/updating them would be more of a hassle, than if we caught it early on and began to guide everything and move it towards a common goal. And, I know it would be huge and ambitious, but I believe we can actually do it, because we've got so many people interested in the game currently, along with people joining mod teams and reviving older mods. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. And, if we really do have the interest in doing this, I can set up a new thread going over the project idea, and going into detail about everything.

This may sound crazy since most players seem to want more jobs. to me the farm jobs is over powered compared to reality. did they forget tractors when developing the game? the farms are showing at least 3 to 5 times as many jobs than they really need. am using SPAM and have a few CAM farms but did not install the full CAM. what i have is some rural regions with farms and a small village. the farms need more workers than the villages can support. even making the farms substantially smaller didn't help much. a grain farm that in reality might employ the owner family and maybe 5 hired hands has almost 40 workers for 30 tiles. a small Amish community that started out with 6 or 8 farms, needed a whole community just to try to supply enough workers.
  9. I have downloaded the SPAM full mod and unzipped it into the plug-ins file but it is not loading to the cities. I have loaded the NAM46 and it is working fine. I have just come back to SC4 after a few years (yes, years) and have it on a new computer. It is running win11 (I know), and the game itself was downloaded from steam. Both were unzipped into Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins.
  10. I love vanilla farms & I love SPAM. I switched to SPAM because vanilla farms die off, don't include enough jobs etc. But vanilla farms aesthetically look fantastic. So the problem is I have SPAM but it is SPAM farms and a few vanilla variants too but is there a way to include vanilla farms too? Because they look nice and vanilla farms look great too, and SPAM don't include any apple tree farms? Is there any mod or a way to do something like it?

    A large set of 110 farm lots in Dutch style, useable in CAM and SPAM regions, as it contains building stages 1 up to 5. As Dutch props are quite rare I had to scrutinize a lot of dependency packs. So the list of dependencies is enormous. You will find it in the Read Me including links. The rest is quite self explanatory. The lots are made with CAM properties, so they should behave properly. Have fun! FrankU

Hello I have these mods in my SPAM folder I am not able to make the below appear from SPAM Paeng Addon Pack Vol01: * Growable Farms (16 Variations) --------------------------------------------------- - Stage 2 3x3 Barn, Silo and Farmhouse (3 Variations) - Stage 3 4x3 Barn, Silo and GrainStorage (3 Variations) - Stage 4 4x4 Dairy Farm (3 Variations) - Stage 4 5x6 Small Cattle Ranch (3 Variations) - Stage 5 4x5 Medium GrainElevator (single) - Stage 5 4x6 Grain Storage Facility (3 Variations) I have been trying to get Stage 4 5x6 Small Cattle Ranch (3 Variations) to show up by using CTRL and the Ag zone and making a 5x6 zone and just making regular 5x6 Ag zone but all that seems to show up are the farms from the original SPAM mode. Is there something overriding the SPAM Paeng Addon Pack Vol01 or am I using the wrong zone? I can not get the 4x4 Dairy Farm to show up either. The rest of the mod is working. Thank You
  13. I just found a post which mentions that SPAM comes with its own traffic simulator, which I wasn't even aware of. The post also says that it may interfere with the NAM traffic simulator and I don't like the looks if it... Could you Guys tell me which file should I remove from / modify in the SPAM directory to resolve this potential issue? My NAM installation loads first ("a_NAM" is the name) but I'm not sure if this is enough...?

  15. Hey everyone, I've been poking around with some IR lotting and mods, and I wanted to figure out how one particular feature in SPAM works. Regular farms in SPAM will only grow on farm zones that contain 17 or more tiles, and any zone that is exactly 16 tiles large will grow crop-only farms. Crop-only farms can also grow on larger zones, but this happens rarely. This seemed like a feature that could be repurposed in some creative ways, so I was eager to figure out how it works. However, I've had a lot of trouble finding any hint of how this was accomplished. After poking around in the SPAM files, I'm a bit lost about what's going on here. I've had a few theories (specifically related to Occupant Groups and the LotConfigPropertyFamily property), but none of them have panned out when I've tested them or dug deeper. I also tried searching both the ST and SC4D forums via site search and Google) with no luck. Anyone have any idea what's at work here? Or is this one of those "lost to time" things?

  18. This is similar to another post on here but I've exhausted all options and I cannot tell if I have SPAM working. Attached is a screenshot of my plugins directory spam and the only dependency listed the mountain theme pack. As you can see I'm using paengs addons which show up just fine and seem to be working. Also attached is a screenshot of a farm query and I hear a little sound and see the flying pig which I assume is the SPAM logo. But you'll see from the screenshot of the farms they don't really l;ook like what I'm seeing in screenshots of SPAM where the farm buildings are much larger and varied and have cool silos and what not. Also I should mention even with NAM installed I can't find the regular dirt roads, I have logging roads from a different pack. Note: I'm playing the deluxe version on Steam with a mac.
  19. So, I've been using SPAM for quite some time now. However, I keep getting AG-1 (private) farmsteads only and can't seem to get any bigger development. I have zoned for some really, really spacious farming areas and sometimes, all I get in terms of farm buildings is just one teeny-weeny hut. One. Hut. For 22 acres of areable field! What is wrong here? How can I obtain a higher-classified farmsteads?

    This is Predelut, it's a small rural town that is proud of it's lack of things to be proud of. The town is surrounded by many farms where most of it's inhabitants find a way to make their living. In the heart of the Town you can find a small bus terminal and a train station, not many trains depart from this station these days but tourists find it especially handy for when they are looking to make a visit to the big city. Near the station lies a neighborhood recognized for it's old homes, in recent years these homes have come under scrutiny due to their poor insulating properties causing them to be uncomfortable to live in and expensive to keep warm in the winter. Because these homes are part of the Protected Heritage Program the mayor had to compromise with the head of the PHP and agreed to make 12Milion simoleons available for applying additional insulation and installing special double glazing that preserves the original look of the window frames.   24. SPAM Crop Sizes

    Kind of a silly question, but does anyone know why some of crops made for SPAM were sized at such a large scale? I love the look of the props, yet I end up avoiding most of them because their scale is so mismatched with their surroundings. For example, the corn stalks appear to reach 35 feet (average height of 8 feet in real life). Meanwhile, the barley, rye, and wheat crops grow to roughly 20 feet (average real life height of 4 feet). It's not a major issue when I can find props that serve as suitable replacements. But outside of wheat and corn, it's hard finding props that are modeled to the same quality. I've considered using the SC4 Model Tweaker to simply resize all of the props to a more realistic size for personal use. However, I tend to avoid doing that, since I'd like to share some of my lots on the STEX at a future date. Given the level of care put into most PEGPROD models, I have to assume this was an intentional decision. I'm just curious what the reason might have been...

Each lot features a simple small store with a randomly generated facade, and rear building. The lots use other prop families for variation.
