  1. I'm using SPAM. I'm creating a large region that I'm hoping to fill up with mostly farms, and a few small cities and towns and villages and hamlets and isolated houses throughout. Because even the large city tiles are actually rather small in scale, there are a number of tiles (they're all large tiles) that are basically entirely farmland plus some houses scattered here and there. So far, I've had no problems. However, in the city tile I'm working on right now, it's about 25% covered in farmland (plus a couple dozen 2x2, 2x3, or 2x4 separate residential zones that have been built up--some scattered, some clustered together though not adjacent so they have the sorts of yards that homes in the country that aren't on farms tend to have, at least in the midwestern US) and all agricultural demand has suddenly vanished and so farm zones aren't growing. I'm not sure why or what to do. I've gone into neighboring blank tiles that I haven't built up yet, and there's ag demand there, so I don't think it's a region-wide thing. Is there something I'm doing wrong or might have missed?
  2. Hi, I installed the SPAM mod, and I get tons of new farm skins. However even when I zone huge farms, they never develop any large buildings on them, only ever 1x1 or 1x2. Eventually farm demand drops off entirely. Is there something I am doing wrong? I see the building files in my plugin folder, but no idea how to make them actually grow. thanks!

  4. Hi! I showcased this picture about my current region a few days ago. Here is an overview about NoirCity's three already developed/WIP districts - on the left handside is North Harbour, the right upper city tile is Suburbiana, the lower district is CounterPoint. I'm planing a massive agricultural area for next, above North Harbour and above Suburbiana and I need some help. I have a lot of I-R/I-AG stuff: SPAM, BSC agri stuff etc, but I don't know which one is compatible with others or not, I don't have any experience with agri stuff and I don't want to use the Maxis "gems". I would like to use functianal items in a big variety, canals/streams (but not the fency ones - I think there is a few ditch canal types out there, and SPAM has its own as well), and MMP as well (but first the functional items). So I need some advice how to build up my agricultural plugin folder. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance! - Tyberius
  5. Paeng "SPAR Fader"

    Hello, old and not so old timers. Does anyone here knows/remembers what Paeng's SPAR Fader is ? I have it in my stash and put it in my Game plugins, to check, but as I don't know what it is supposed to do, I don't know if it should appear in some menu or not. And didn't notice any diffference anywhere in SPAR ( I was kinda hoping it faded the rather blockish aspect of the SPAR pieces -- without having to do it with photoshop !:-) ) but...

  8. I have a simple question: Does the number of work spaces from normal agriculture from a certain area is the same as the number of work spaces from SPAM agriculture on an area exacly the same? If not the can you tell me If the difrerence is pretty big and game changing.I am new to SimCity 4 and i dont want to make the game harder but i want IT to have variety and realism.Oh and while You are still reading ,some mod/lots sugestions wouldnt be bad.Thank you for reading this and pls answer as soon as possible.
  9. Damn Menu

    Hey all, Hope I have this question in the right place if not let me know. I'm trying to locate in put into Damn some of the SC4 lots like the ones in the rail menu and the Nam stuff. Also Damn was working fine until today it keeps greying out. I hit the menu button in the news ticker but that just gets Damn to work for about 3-4 seconds then greys out again. Tried restarting game no help there. Also trying to insert the SPAM stuff in Damn also and can't find it. If I go into File Explorer it's there but in Damn it's not. So if anyone can steer me in the right direction would be appreciated.
  10. Farms - a new community is born

    Life is slow in Farms lately. But there has been some development during spring. What used to be lots of farmland has now transformed into a small suburbian community, so far nameless, though locals refer to it as Farmville. Some residents grew tired of having to commute to work and decided to file a petition to buy up some land for a private housing project. 44 new homes and a handful of commercial has been built, along with a train station. Even a brand new pumpkin farm established in the area. Looks like Halloween is on the go for the first time in Farm's history! The project was approved by Mayor Wournos III, who thought it to be an excellent timing seeing how the Intersection Project is still ongoing. Having residents move on their own with little fuss is far better for mayor rating than having to evict them and tell them where to live. Aerial view of "Farmville" - in summer. As for some bad news... a woman has gone missing after leaving work early due to a severe headache. Local police is looking for her as she may have taken off with some money belonging to her employer. The search continues.

    Mayor: Wournos III Residents: >5000 Commercial: >3000 Industry: >7000 Funds: >500000 City area: Large Overview Farms was originally an area with residential to the West and farmland in the middle, with an open, unplanned area to the far East. Two avenues on either side of the farmland functioned as low-speed highways that connected Farms to Residential Evil and Industrial to the North. Farms was also connected to Residential Evil by rail that runs past the residential area. The city was boring and stagnant. When the mayor in neighboring city Industrial made a conscious decision to upgrade their rail with viaducts and improved stations (NAM), the mayor of Farms jumped on the bandwagon and replaced the avenues with proper highways (RHW). The transition was nothing but problematic. With inexperienced workers unable to build intersections and FLUPs mayor Wournos III decided to interrupt the highway with roundabouts - eight in total, four on either side of the farmland. Traffic would keep flowing with minimal congestion despite this choice. The farmland underwent improvement (SPAM) that resulted in a greater variety of crops. In an attempt to speed up goods transportation the rail road crew built a line from Industrial that cut through the farmland down the South and out of the city. The rail has changed since then. Now it splits at the border to Industrial and pass through Rural Forest, the previously open unplanned area, and turns west and connects to the line that pass alongside Farms’ residential area. Neighbour deals Water: bought from Residential Evil Garbage: sold to Industrial In the pipeline Develop Rural Forest further Remove roundabouts and make ”diamond intersections” Adjust residential and rail to make room for intersections Replace power lines Old picture. All Maxis trees have been removed. New flora has been ordered!
  12. I may have missed something, but is there a simple way to control where the farmhouse of a farm appears in a zone? For example, I have a 9x9 farm zone with a 5-tile street placed directly into the centre of the field, and I wanted the farmhouse to appear at the centre of the field. But sometimes the farmhouse appears near the boundary (the first street tile touching the farm zone) and makes the rest of the street seem useless. As you are here... how far can I zone a farm away from a road/street, without the no road access icon appears?

    SPAM - Univaasity University of Veterinary and Agricultural Science By Craig-Abcvs Yes, folks we are slowly working our way up the educational ladder... this time may we present the SPAM Univaasity, specialising in veterinary, agricultural and turfgrass science. The Univaasity been fully spammed with new features... most notabily... flowers.. red flowers in fact! Yes, yes I know it will come as a shock to some to include such an overt display of prettiness, but for such a prestigious educational facility Screw Pile Developments has spared no expense, (no expense at all actually)... in the landscaping budget for this lot. Flowers and a very classy rock wall do indeed adorn the frontage. The Univaasity mascot, Barker who met a tragic end chasing his own tail is now forever immortalised in bronze and adorns pride of place in the front garden. Also, back by popular demand are our two heroic A.I. bulls, Angus and Fergus, seconded from the SPAM - R.A.V.E clinic, still diligently doing their duty... however there was a slight misrepresentation in their position of appointment... they were under the impression that the univaasity was a seminary... Ahem. Other included livestock for our young vets to practice their skills on are our resident flock of sheep, Dolly, Molly, Holly, Polly, Woolly and of course last but not least Bob the ram. Making their debut from the Jestarr Livestock prop pack, are Doris the Sow and Boris the Boar forming the resident porcine population who have a very fine working arrangement processing leftovers from the student canteen. At night when all the students and professors have gone home, the two night watchmen, Harry and Larry will keep vigil near the front entrance. Contents: This lot will replace the Maxis University, (while installed) and shares the same properties, costs and reward values as the original.     SPAM School Bus Garage By Craig-Abcvs When you have a small isolated community that is not really big enough to support its own school, due to ongoing education budget cuts... we still need to ensure that our little Sims get their School Education Quotient boost. This School Bus Garage will service your isolated rural communities by "transporting" all the little Sims into the nearest town for school. Actually... in game it functions as an elementary school with full tile coverage. The School Bus Garage also provides 'extra-curricular' education around the back... exactly what is going on and exactly what is being taught, is best left to the imagination, but if you check carefully you might just catch sight of Bubba, Cleetus and Elmo who are regular attendees.   16. Demands and the Highway

    Welcome back to Bedfordale, everybody. We have new news on the recent happenings in Bedfordale since the last entry. The suburb seems to never stop expanding, so the next time we have news on it it will be AT LEAST doubled. A high-school was opened to support the education needs of the teenagers. We counted about twenty out of thirty-five that were willing to be questionnaired were very angsty. By popular demand, the farms underwent expansion, both west and east and over the river. The camera crew is absolutely exhausted, so I'll make this quick and tomorrow morning we'll continue with the tour. A hippie camp, as I like to call it, has also been built. Annoying bunch who also go after the dairy and cheese farm. The camera crew really is tired, one thought that a picture of the unkept highway corners would be pretty. I mean, it kinda was? The camera crew is VERY questionable. Alright! It's tomorrow morning, and we have a visual of the farms across the river. They are rather pretty, and that stream in the river supposedly calms people... to the point of nirvana... Has that hippie group been writing the morning script?! Egh, lastly, is the commercial district full of corporations taking our job- AGAIN, WHO LET THE- I'm going this improv style like last night, no more scripts. Two more supermarkets were built, and many many more things have happened. A train stop was built, and due to governmental issues, a city hall was erected. The city has been blowing up in terms of population, and, between you and me, a district with apartments and small condos is rumored to be planned out soon. I'm not one to buy into gossip, I mean, these ARE the hippies that these theories come from. Might be a police investigation soon. Stay tuned for more! WHERE IS MY COFFEE?!

    TE Driveways and Parking By Craig-Abcvs These lots will provide a simple driveway extension to connect visually to growable lots, especially lots that have been zoned on diagonal roads. They are also useful for wherever filler parking is needed. This pack contains a set of four transit enabled driveways and parking lots designed to compliment the MTP and SPAM: *Gravel Driveway *Dirt Driveway *Gravel Parking *Concrete Parking Transit enabled for streets, and will work with the SAM (Street Add on Mod).   19. Expansions

    Welcome back! A few improvements and other things have happened to Bedfordale, lets take a look, shall we? The most notable thing is the development of a new district for agricultural farms. To the north there is a flour mill, with a wheat right next to it. It helps supply the large grocery stores in the commercial sector along with the other privately owned farms. Below it are two other farms. One is a cheese and milk farm with some other produce on the side. A few animal organizations have went against this factory but they all have failed. The other is a wine farm, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Below the three farmsketeers are some small farms with various specialities, standard stuff. The residential area got an upgrade, with medium wealth sims moving in to enjoy the country life. Speaking of upgrades, the school got a softball field.     SPAM Small Landing Strip By Craig-Abcvs Way back in June 2010 the MTP abcvs Small Landing Strip one of my first ever lots was released. It was also pre-spam so did not include any of the better props and textures from that pack. The landing strip has now been given a mini make-over with a few of the newer SPAM props and textures. The movie set trailer check in facilities have been given a small upgrade to an A-Frame chalet. The rollo-gate prop has now also been fixed, and the main gate will now open and close properly. The parking lot is now transit enabled for vehicles and pedestrians. This lot will replace the Maxis Small Landing Strip in-game however all costs and stats remain the same as the Maxis original. To install unzip and place the lot file in: Documents/Simcity 4/Plugins **If you are using the original MTP abcvs Small Landing strip please delete that file from your plugins and replace it with this one. To un-install simply delete the file from your plug-in folder, and the original Maxis landing strip will return to your game. Original Features include: Improved taxi-ways with runway lighting. SPAM / MTP / rural themed textures, flora and props. Timed aircraft props to simulate aircraft movement. Different day and night timed people and cars. Security Guards will come on and off shift during the day and night at the main security checkpoint. The security gate on the far side of the airport will line up with the gates on the MTP Econo-Airbase, or the Mountain Airforce Base to provide a paved runway for the cash-strapped MTP airforce. UDI - This airport still includes the Skydiving, Crop Dusting and Stunt Plane "U-Drive it" planes.
