So I already build a grid pattern for the downtownish-district of the town I'm working on. The poblem is I have absolutely no experience with downtowns. I made a plan, how I wanna do this, first the blank pattern: And here the zoning plan: blue: Highrise commercial green: Highrise residential yellow: Mediumrise residential grey circles: forests black area: additional space when necessary, otherwise mediumrise districts What you say? I really have no experience with this. Any tips? critics? Have a nice...

Visit #4: Square Lake

Yeah, I developed the town further: Another small wtf moment. That building is just massively dominating. That's it, see you soon and Пока! Replies IRE505:I wouldn't say they suck too, but they're just real basic and nothing special:D I don't even know how I should do this in a actual realistic terrain with slopes and all, I should learn from the "masters" of SC4:D stockslips: Thank you for the kind words:) 47ply: To do something like this isn't hard, just if you want to put in a few slopes and realistic...

I already told you that I decided to continue the development of the town, so here's a small look: I continued to zone suburbs.... ...I continued to zone agricultural areas.... ...I added a railway line (with ugly placement of the main station)... ...I built a small commercial area... ...And expanded the industrial zone! So, does anyone have tips how to go on? I never really developed a town so far :3 Adittional, does anyone know hot to fight against the huge abandonment? There's a huge demand for middle...

Views of the town

Remember the weekly updates some months ago? This time is gone^^ i didn't actually build much more, but I did some mmp work at last. A small lookout at the windcliff. It's a little nature preserve, so no cars are allowed. The "upper town", the commercial towncenter.... aaaand the "lower town", the residential part. The other part of the population lives in the suburbs in the east of the towncenter. A small entry for such a long break, but therefore I will answer the comments of the last entry:3 Is this...

As 2nd special I decided to show you my extremly bad skills in working with the RHW. So I just build a RHW 4/ RHW 6s intersection (with the new NAM 32 pre release) without any tutorial, experiences or anything else:D It should work, but I'm sure it's the worst way to build a T intersection. I mmp'd the pond just because there was so much useless, free area. PS: Yeah, the bad photoshop work is on purpose, just to fit in the rest of this special of nonsense, the text is there to underline my stupidity in...

Teaser the second

I'll upload maybe even two new entries the next weekend, I currently just struggle with some lots, so I'm not sure about the second, "surprise"-entry:D We'll see.... Don't be scared, I didn't already fully developed this map, there's going to be more zoned area and suburbs at the left of the highway^^. I'll reply the comments of this and the last entry at the actual CJ update next weekend, like everytime. Bye, have a nice evening!

Well, I struggle with some bugs in the game, but I finally managed to upload some new pics. Here we are: First problem: the tree controller doesn't work properly. I use Arden, but I never get a leasent result with none of the sub-controllers included in the main file. I checked all my plugins and I'm sure I have all the dependencies. I used the River-Controller in this city and you see, I get nearly no actual trees. I'm not sure if this is purpose, but the trees are really rare. With the coast-controller...

Still Alive

Still alive. Not much content yet. Much stuff in development still. Such unreplied comments. Many doge. Wow. Procrastination time! Comments will be answered the next time. I'm the last person on earth using doge memes. Bye^^

Hello and welcome to my first bigger entry not about just a small point of a map, but the whole map at all! Let's begin... The first thing you see as you visit the town, are a bunch of farms, delimited by small forests Then you have to drive some minutes on the highway To enter the town, just drive off at the interchange, then some minutes on the other highway, then drive off and - voila - you're in the town immediately. There not living many people, but the traffic connections are very good. (You see, I...

Well, I'm really sorry I didn't uploaded anything the last weeks, but first I was in Tyrol, then my Grandfather had his birthday and later on I finally got Diablo III which had to be played (meh.). Since then I didn't do much in SC4 but the last days I spent the one or other hour on Windcliff. A brand new industrial area beneath the new established "city"-highway. Here's an overview over the new traffic system (called the "Derpways") The new residential area next to the also new railway. It's elevated...

Some random pics again

Yeah, I played on an older town of mine again, I kinda forgot during the months. The update is already today because tomorow is a holiday in Germany and after that, there is 1 week no school:D I'm a bit exhausted though, because we had a excursion today and visited the local home for asylum seekers; playing with the children and stuff, it was really fun:D But enough of the pseudo-diary here are some pics: A quick shot of the whole settled area of the region Some suburbs in the northern part of the city...

Yeah, I made a plan for a new city, I'm like semi-finished, here you are: Thats what I mean with "semi-finished". In the top "???" tile, I'm propably zoning a commercial district with some supermarkets and huge stores and that (can you suggest me some?^^) In the bottom "???"-tile, I will propably just build a park and plant some trees, what is your opinion about that? And in the mid "???"-tile I have absolutely no idea I really need your help about that. First, I planned the w2w area there, but...

Heyho, yeah it's another boring entry about suburbs (I really have enough of them meanwhile^^) Here you see the first plan of the first minor center of the whole town, it will be espanded with many suburbs in all directions, time to time with another centers with bigger buildings in the center, like cities grew into each other. A small pond, very interesting for science, because the water plants in the immediate area around it, like the reed, doesn't seem to react to the seasons. Also it's never frozen....

Small Town #2

Because I was really motivated today (Grade A in an essay ), there's already another entry. Indeed, it is a small town too, but.....yeah who cares? It just makes fun to create these towns, you know? But the next time it's another theme. Promise (probably night shots or mmp again). So it's snowing here in the Ore Mountains already and it's very beautiful I guess, so maybe I will upload some real life photos of my hometown someday. Have a nice evening guys! Replies Huston: That's a huge compliment, but it's...

Small Town #1

So finally the update with the small town today, let's just begin. I don't really know why the custum §§R houses don't grow as much as I want.... (No MMP's but Arden seasonal tree controller) So I tried to build a town, I'm sorry there weren't much mmp's today. Have a nice evening! Replies: Huston: Thanks But I think the sidewalk is way too big, it should be more tight > Fox: Wow, that's a huge compliment I actually save often but I'm mostly too tired to restart and rebuild the small amount of "crash...

I was bored, so I practiced my marina skills, but didn't focused it on this entry, because....ummm....I suck at marina. Yes, everytime I build one, it looks ugly. So I focused on the hotels: (It seems that the texture on this building conflicts with my colour/contrast changes, I uploaded it though) That's all for today, have a nice evening! Replies 47ply: Thanks, but I have this hodgepodge of buildings too, I complained in my last entry about it:D infamousjbe: That's a valuable advice, but I already...

Seaside #1

After a break finally the next entry. I had much fun building the watersides, but the town(s) itself wouldn't want to grow nicely, so I had to build much landmarks... You see, there isn't anything behind the W2W, I didn't know how to fill this peninsula Yeah, I hope you like it:D Have a nice day guys! Replies Benedict: I totally agree with you, this mill would look really awesome in winter Huston: Thank you for the tips, but I'm just bad in photoshop:)

Well, my mourning break was at last as long as I usual break (you may have noticed, i usually post new entries at friday), so it was probably pretty normal for you. I think it's a nice idea (though I not invented it) to connect SC4 with music sometimes. This is a song by a relative famous (reggae) singer from Germany (Translation here) I'm sorry but the copyright control company "GEMA" has blocked the original video (yes, it's kinda facism), so I could'nt show you the music video but one with just the song...

Quick update

Today just...yeah...a quick update^^ I worked on: improvements of the inner town core... ...added some green detail for the residents ...started to set up a canal system.... ...aaaand set the basics for an elevated rail system. the major tracks are already build, more and especially more DETAIL (such as walls, fences, etc..) to follow. There wasn't an update last week due to a heavy party night, so don't be unforgiving:3 Well, that's it, have a nice evening! PS: Today is Hexenfeuer or Walpurgisnacht in...

I became peg-addicted recently, so I just had to create a entry about this....it just makes so much fun Murimk's lots are awesome! I forgot to turn off the grid the most of the time and I was to lazy to re-do it as I noticed, sorry :/ Have a nice saturday guys! Replies Lost Realist: Thank you You're the maker of "Josephinia" right? I already said it in the comment section, but: man, it's awesome!

Night Shots #1

Darknite is fabulous! There will be less entries this week, because I have to learn many stuff for school. Have a nice evening guys! Replies Huston: Thanks, since draggable FAR and the instantly smooth curves it's so easy to use the diagonal network systems and it makes towns and cities much more beautiful. Nearby I noticed you comment really often on my work and the work of others, so thanks for supporting us small CJ'ers 89James89: I'm glad you like it:D Thank you for the complimets:)

Nailed it.

Well, as a quick reminder of what it looked like at the beginning: Starting development: And the result: And now, just some impressions: (You should never try to build such a city with a demand mod activated. If you're unlucky or stupid, like in my case, you don't have enough different lots for the high wealth sims and get the same buildings everywhere. I mean, in the residential districts it looks quite good, but only the Grantosa Café along the main street looks a bit....weird) More like a high-tech...

Well, I finished the mediterranean island I started to create recently, so let's see..... We arrive via a tourist boat at the small port. Then we have to clamber all the way up to the first terrace... Here we are, exhausted, but excited. The St. Michaelis priory is famous for its delicious wine.... Doesn't this look delicious? After that, we go to a small settlement on the same terrace.... Imagine the view you'd had every morning We finally reach the core of the town, on the upper terrace: The thing in the...
