Hello, I'm working on a standardized icon template for SC4 lots. I've been extracted 2 files from PIM-X here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19mpvopn6j7UDwGIfFBc-ztD4Tt06CAZB. Can you help me combine those files into a usable template using the magic of Photoshop? I've tried but fail.

I'm attending a season of ΙΤ courses for unemployed people with the ultimate goal of finding a job from this process. We're learning programming, making data bases... and Photoshop! That's right, I'm finally learning how to play with Photoshop These are my very first pictures, after playing around with filters, liquify and mixing photos together. Of course this is just the beginning, but I can't wait to use all those new knowledge in my upcoming pictures of my cities of the future

After browsing hundreds of greyscale topography, I finally decided on, making my own custom map, using Adobe PS CS and Bryce 6.0. I will not be using Adobe Photoshop filters, as they tend to make the same generic conditions, that are simply not natural enough nor unique enough for my personal tastes. Not finished, but here are my results so far:

Sobotka's Newby Experiments
FrankSobotka posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
I hope its okay to start a new thread documenting my experiments. Busy week but I was able to reproduce my efforts last week in a much shorter amount of time. I made this welcome sign for my city - an early 1990s fictional city on the California coast between LA and SF. No LUT or any realism photo mods yet for pictures so they are more vanilla than most posted Great thanks to Hemeac, Badi Dea and Avanya for the assistance and encouragement getting me started!- 8 Replies

3rd Place entry from Photoshop Challenge (S3-05-E) Extended 35 Rep 12 Bonus Points 42 TOTAL Points Challenge Results Data | Leaderboard Rankings An aerial view of one of the largest (and most detested) industrial facilities in the region of Pretoria, the Apotex petrochemical refinery. The idea behind the image was to 'uglify' the plant as much as possible while still making it look cool/interesting. The first step was to stitch together 6 individual images of the facility at zoom level 4. After completing the mosaic, some minor photoshopping of vehicles and shadows was done. Next the image was modified with a rather peculiar filter and then it was mirrored. Following that I adjusted the hue, saturation, contrast and brightness levels. Lastly the image format & resolution were reduced to fit within the 2mb limit while maintaining as much detail as possible.© 2016 Takingyouthere

Recently I spent many hours edited images in preparation for the now completely photoshop challenge. I posted some of these on my CJ and in a couple other forums but it occurred to me that it might be better to post these kinds of images together in a single thread. I did a search and looked back a dozen or so pages in the forums to double check but didn't come across any other similar threads(surprisingly), so I made this thread. I'll start things off. Here's a several images I made as alternate entries for the photoshop challenge. Coppermill Frozen Flow Reversal Artistic Rendition Imprint City Le Blueprints In the end I went with an image I call Portrait of a Chemical Plant which is probably my best photoshopping effort to date. (or is one of the others better?) Anyhow lets see your photoshop/image editing at work both the subtle and the obvious.

Who wouldn't wan't to live under the dome? After the rapture the abandoned rubble and streets grew into a asphalt jungle. We should have listened to Bernie.

After 50 and a half years Bronzo City was just hit by its second recorded snowfall. The Tram, Police, Fire Department, And other services weren't able to get out after the the huge snowstorm came in without warning and blasted the streets with snow leaving people unable to leave their jobs, schools, and apartments beacause of the city's lack of proper precautions and equipment.

People emerge from Woodland High School on a cloudy morning following a massive storm that produced 3 tornadoes. From my CJ: SC4 Zero to Million Challenge: A massive EF4 and 2 smaller EF3 tornadoes ripped through Woodland Town, causing mass devastation. The EF4 tornado, as seen in the previous update, was barreling directly towards the school that served as a make-shift shelter for over 3,000 people, including the major and his business partner/best friend Ben and their families, who made it in the nick of time. In a twist, the tornado changed course in the last minute, missing the majority of the school sparing nearly half the town's terrified population that were inside, and only destroyed the upper level science and math halls. While the majority of people took shelter in the gym, hundreds more took cover in the bathrooms, storage closets, teacher closets, and just about anywhere inside the school that didn't have windows. (The gym is in the lower right corner of the school). The area north of the school is what used to be apartments. Other people took shelter at the basements in the homes that had them. This is the preview of the next update for this CJ, which will show the rest of Woodland Town after the tornadoes. -

An Atlantic storm has reached the small town of Cragmuir on the Isle of Sialia as massive waves splash against the whisky distillery. Motorists have been advised against travel in parts of the Star Isles as the storm sweeps in on the Outer Islands. All ferry services to the Outer Islands have been halted as the storm is bringing heavy wind and rain, and visibility is expected to be reduced to zero. As part of the Photoshop Challenge I added whitecaps to the sea, as well as waves crashing into the rocks and sea mist rising from where the waves crash against the coast. I also added several layers of fog as well as reduced saturation to parts of the scene enveloped in the clouds of the incoming storm. This is my first attempt at adding waves and clouds to a scene, I hope you all enjoy! -

Please view the picture in fullscreen. My Entry for the photoshop challenge. I made a custom interchange. You can see it at the bottom. Afterwards I changed the time of day. But I decided to undo the changes because you could not see the interchange anymore. Well, now you can see both, day'n'night I know. I have stupid one way street arrows. I'm too lazy... Hope I can show you some day even more of the city. But at this point only half of the big city tile is plopped.- 6 Comments

Rose City's National History Museum's Exhibit on Dinosaurs

Rose City is going to be part of an upcoming CJ I'm working on. The National History Museum lies right on Civic Triangle along the Capitol, Town Hall and Central Police Precinct. This year, the NHM is proud to bring a Dinosaur Exhibit with fossils and animatronic dinosaurs from across the globe. The image was edited in Photoshop to include the Dinosaur Exhibit banners and an evening glow on the city. Also a soft tilt-shift was added to improve focus on the museum itself. -

I finally found a use for the 'Day of Peace' flags props issued by Maxis. I made a lot, seen in the upper-left, with a plaza featuring all the flags. The background was left transparent to represent some unknown dimension SimPlanet would exist in. Just as I was taking the picture in SC4 a little blue car like mine came down the middle street in front of the humanities building. Makes me wonder, am I creating a simulation, or is it creating me. -

Before you cast your vote, please view the first comment to see it in full resolution! Photoshop enhancements: Crashing waves, custom water texture, custom beach texture, fog/mist, boat reflections, boat ripples, and the usual stuff that I include in nearly all of my pictures (which includes finding a suitable filter, faded black borders, slight tilt shift, editing some of the color values to make them "pop", and then varying levels of saturation, glow, and sharpening) From my "South Pacific" entry in my CJ, True Earth: "...After getting off our cruise ship, we make our way across Easter Island to Anakena Beach. Anakena is one of two beaches that Easter Island has to offer - the rest of the island is quite rocky and barren, making it a popular tourist destination. We're surrounded by wild horses, endless palm trees, and the sound of crashing waves once we get to the beach, and Moai statues face inwards towards the island to greet us once we get there. The Rapa Nui people purposely placed the Moai facing inland while they were being constructed some 600-800 years ago - to show that they were protecting and honoring the people of Easter Island. The mysterious Moai statues offer more questions than answers: how were they built, how were they set up, and how did the Rapa Nui people move the statues across the island? No one really knows for certain, so we just sit back and admire their greatness. After checking out the Moai, we spend the rest of our day lounging around in our inner tubes, taking in the natural beauty of the island - it's truly a one of a kind destination." -
Looking for guidance with retexturing vehicles

Hi all, I'm venturing into creating stuff for the community for the first time. I eventually want to learn 3D modelling, but that's going to be a while. In the meantime, stmSantana made these repaintable lorries which I downloaded. I then used Photoshop to edit the _d and _lod_d files to repaint the lorries and create these UK branded lorries which I uploaded to Steam. There's one thing I'd like to do which I'm not sure about. At the front of the lorries stmSantana made, there's a logo for CHIRPER. I'd like to change this to SCANIA for added realism, but I'm not sure how to do do that. I know there's a normal map I need to create, but when I took the Lorry_s file and made a normal map with it, it looked very different from the normal map which came with the file. I'm very new to all of this (normal maps, etc), but I wonder if someone could give me a step-by-step guide on how to amend the logo decal on the front of the vehicle. I'm keen to create more stuff for the community and if anyone has any tips for me based on what you see I've already created, I'm happy to learn! Thanks.
