City-building game(s)

  1. I am starting to build a city with several bridges across the sea to connect it to a nearby island. Most of the bridges will cross over transport ship lines. Does anyone knows what is the minimum height above sea level a bridge needs to be at to avoid colision with a ship passing under it? Alternatively, what is the maximum height (above sea level) of the cruise ship? I could not find this information anywhere else.
  2. I created a model museum ship I'd like to put into the game. My main focus is eye candy (having museum functionally would be a bonus). My problem is now that I've completed the model (pictured below), I have no idea what to do. I've tried exporting, and have moved the model around in an attempt to "offset render". That seems to allow me to move it around, but I don't know what to do other than that. My objective is 1) keep the red part of the hull below the water (it is below z=0 in the model, and the LOD stops at z=0) 2) get the brow and stairway over land, but off the "lot" itself. This would be to allow me to place the ship next to an existing park of my choice (probably one of the PEG CDKs). 3) not have any underlying textures or cause any water bugs. Is there a tutorial or can someone help walk me through this process. I have several boats I'd like to export and get into the game this way, and would appreciate any help given.
  3. METMW: Prop Pack Beta

    Version 1.0.0

Mass Effect: The Milky Way Project > Prop Pack Beta | Bβ METMW Prop Pack Beta is an archive of common Mass Effect Transport and Vehicles as well as airborne transports and ships. This release is a part of my on-going 100k special uploads for ME:Beyond (formerly ME:TMW) Mass Effect: The Milky Way Project > Prop Pack Beta | Bβ > Updates - METMW Prop Pack Beta will be updated when applicable, given that there are newly and readily available props from the METMW project. - METMW Project BAT and Lot files will be readily displayed with the required version, specified from a specific date of update onwards, or a file version. - When new the Prop Pack is updated, it's ideal to download and keep up to the most recent version, to prevent any issues regarding lots, or just to keep up to date with some of the really awesome sci-fi content on offer!. Mass Effect: The Milky Way Project > Prop Pack Beta | Bβ > Installation As with any prop and texture packs, installation only requires you to unzip the file and unload any prop files in the zip to your Local Disk drive's Program Files directory (in C: drive in most cases) SimCity 4 Folder, and locate your plugins folder. When replacing your older Prop Pack with a more recent version, simply download the newer version, follow the same steps and in addition, remove any obsolete files from the previous Prop Pack Alpha version from your plugins folder. Otherwise, if you know which files do not need replacement, unzip the folders you require. Included in this first version of the Beta prop pack is: (preview does not depict all available content in beta download -- best to leave some as a surprise!) 4. SimCoug's PEG Coast Guard Boats

Description: This is just a pair of lots that enable you to plop the PEG Coast Guard boats (Cutter and Patrol Boat) by themselves anywhere in the water. Previously, these were part of an excellent PEG Coast Guard lot, but the boats were moored on the pier - now you can get these babies going out on the open ocean Dependencies: PEG-CDK3 Coast Guard Station (specifically, the *PEG_CDK3_CG-Equiptment_RESOURCE.dat) Installation: Simply unzip the file and put the entire 'SimCougs PEG CG Boats' folder in your plugins (don't forget the dependencies). Developer notes: You will find these boats under the 'Water Transportation' menu - simply plop them where ever you like. No costs or benefits - these are simply eye-candy lots. Support: For comments, questions or help, please visit SimCoug's Lot&Mod Den Special Thanks: Thanks to Pegasus for creating these awesome models, and thanks to Chris11 for the request.
  5. Hello wonderful world and members of Simtropolis! I was wondering if anyone could help me find some great naval ships. If you could it would be wonderfully appreciated. Cheerio!
  6. Modular Container Port

    Version 1

This is a set of 30 different LOTs which can be used to build custom container ports. It contains different docks with ships, cranes and containers. Docks for corners, left and right ends. Rail and truck depots. Fences, roads, containers and more. The LOTs don't have a seaport functionality, they are only eye candy. Dependencies: PEG Security Fencing Kit PEG CDK3 SP Rail Fleet PEG CDK3 SUPER PAK PEG CDK3 SP SEAPORT SUPER PAK Rail Yard and Spur Textures Mega Pack 1 BSC Mega Props - JES Vol01 BSC Mega Props - JES Vol06 BSC Mega Props - JES Vol07 BSC Mega Props - JES Vol08 BSC BAT Props - T1 Vol3 Container Freight Yards PEG CDK3 SP Container Ship Fleet Mod Edit: Fixed broken dependency links.
  7. Version 1

A collection of 7 ships that can be plopped anywhere in the water. Ideal for adding the look & feel of ship traffic to your harbors either as ships underway or anchored and awaiting their turn at the docks. Each ship is a seperate 1x1 lot... although the ship itself is much larger. Each lot is located in the Water Transportation menu directly under the last of the CDK3 Seaport collection of lots. Even as new CDK3-SP lots are added, the ship lot icons will always display directly under them. Unlike previous versions of ploppable ships, these are not affected by the Water Graphics Bug and do not cast a lot shadow on the ocean floor or the water's surface. They can therefore be plopped in either deep or shallow water with no concern for having to conceal the underlying lot. * To make placement of these lots easier, the orientation arrow of the lot points toward the bow of the ship. ** Each ship costs only §5 to plop and has no monthly maintenance costs. The lots do not require power or water. ** These lots have no dependencies. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.
