  3. Good morning all, I would like to ask SC4E staff for information regarding the military-related files gathered by @SIM-ple Jack in one of his dedicated threads. I always considered this library to be particularly useful for this kind of content but now, due to migration from SC4D, all of the links leading to the old page redirect to the welcome message inviting to SC4E... At the same time, searching SC4E for any item yields no results. I assume this might be caused by files simply not being reuploaded yet. But aye - this is such a downer. Any tips or info regarding this excellent selection?

    First time making a map ever so hopefully I posted this correctly. This map is based on the map from the game Foxhole. Foxhole is a MMO based in a WW1/WW2 style world with persistent war.     While going through my plugins, doing some downsizing, i found these old props I made for a project I'm never going to create. I was going to delete them but I thought the community could use them instead. This pack contains several airplanes props ranging from 747 in old liveries to Japan Self Defense Forces aircraft and ground vehicles. A diagonal tram stop inspired by Paris tram T3a is also included. Please note that these props are given as is. I am aware there are rendering issues but I will not fix them. I do not have the models anymore. If you don't like them, don't use them. simple as. Also I did not model these.     Coastal Gun Battery, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Coastal Gun Battery fortifications can be found along many coatlines of the world. Left overs from WWII, these were used to fire anti-ship artillery from high ground. This was made as a request by a fellow SC4 player. It is a 1x1 lot that is found in the parks menu. The lot is completely neutral: no monthly costs and no benefits. It is on a transparent base so your terrain mod will show through. Use MMPs, like I have done in the images, if you want to dress up the area.   9. In some recent posts of mine, I described a region that I am building, and did some speculation on what I call the "desperation awards." For example, the military base, federal prison, toxic waste dump, and the other rewards one gets when one is down to just a few thousand dollars and is loosing money quite rapidly (or uses the "you dont deserve it" cheat code). I speculated further that once the income from these "desperation awards" gets one "over the monetary hump" and a city is making money without one (even if that is not one's goal, a city has to make a small profit or at least break even), which ones should be kept and which ones should be bulldozed. I concluded that, at least in some circumstances, the military base and the federal prison should be kept, while the others should be bulldozed. I further speculated on whether the "you dont deserve it" cheat should be used to put these in the city before you start developing it (I suppose one could even see what happens when all the reward buildings, both positive (churches, etc) and negative (toxic waste dump, etc) are put in a city before development). I decided to do just that. In "Central Producer 3," which is one of the 4kx4k cities that I am zoning as only industrial, I am using the "you dont deserve it" cheat code to put a military base along with the power plant, bus stops, etc., in the city before I started zoning. It seemed to increase the amount of industry that the city attracted before I had to start building the "Housing and Business" cities around it. In my "Housing and Business" cities, which are the cities surrounding my "Central Producer X" cities, I run out of jail cell space rather quickly, so I put a prison in the city in the initial setup of it, as far away from reidential areas as I could. I also put some parks around it to serve as a buffer. In the "Housing and Business" cities surrounding "Central Producer 3," the "subregion" I am currently developing, I am putting a federal prison instead of a "regular" prison. After putting it in, I exit to region then reopen the city to reset the rewards buildings because that is the way I prefer playing, putting in the reward buildings when I earn them, though as an experiment i put in all the reward buildings (positive and negative) in the initial set-up of my city just to see what would happen. I think that is one of the good things about SimCity 4 (and perhaps other city building games such as skylines, etc., but I don't k know as I have never played skylines). You can play a region by whatever self imposed rules you might have, such as not using external mods, not using money cheats, not using cheats at all (in this case specifically the "you dont deserve it cheat" to get the military base or the federal prison), then open a city (or entirely new region), see what happens when you use the cheat code or whatever, then go back to the original city or region and continue playing it with your self imposed rules. For instance, several years ago, I noticed that there was a cheat code called "howdryiam" that removes the necessity of having to have water producing facilities such as towers or pumps, so I opened up a region to see what happens when I use this code. I really don't remember, but I think the code had to be reentered each time the city was opened. One thing I do remember is that I was pretty constantly putting out fire, I think so often as to almost make the game unplayable. I don't know if this was an artifact of the way the cheat code was implemented or if it was a deliberate punishment for using the cheat code. Another time, I opened a new region to perform an "education experiment" where I put in various levels of educational facilities (no schools, just an elementary school, an elementary and a high school, etc). In my final city, I not only put in all the regular educational facilities but also used the "you dont deserve it" code to get the educational reward buildings (university, central library, etc.) in addition to the regular education buildings. After I was done with the "education experiment," I went back to the region I was building, in fact, I think that this region that I developed these cities in is still sitting in my regions folder with 5-10 cities with varying levels of education and all the rest of the cities undeveloped.     Lt. Manuel Conde Airforce Base. The number of aircrafts suggest there's a VIP visiting the island. The airforce base shares the runway of Didicas Island International Airport. The small airbase is located on the north-eastern part of the airport. The Airbase has three(3) large hangars for shelter, maintenance and repair of aircraft, another two (2) small hangars for helicopter can also be found. The airbase is also composed of the Headquarters office, Officer and Enlisted men housing unit, Supply store, Medical Dispensary and Military exchange store just across the street (beside Airforce MRT Station and Buddhist Park) Lt Manuel Conde Airbase is the home of the 203rd Composite Tactical Operational Wing is tasked to perform Tactical Air operations within its assigned area of responsibility and to provide, operate and maintain base services at station/location. It has contributed extensively to the objectives of national security, maintenance of peace and order and the preservation of the environment. The 203rd Composite Tactical Operation Wings doesnt have organic aircraft on the wing instead the aircraft are provide by other mother units such as the C130 and C295 (220th Airlift Wing), Bell 412, S70 and UH1H (207th Tactical Operation Squadron). Bell 412 EP - The 8 units were acquired in 2015-16. a further 16 units in 2018 were supposed to be added but was put on hold. There's around 40 still running currently and is planned to gradually be phase out as more Bell 412 become available. This entry introduces my very loose, fictional recreation of The Citadel: Military College of South Carolina, a senior military college in Charleston. My version is still a work in progress, as there are still a few things to add. The last few pictures showcase the North Charleston Botanical Park and Pond, which features numerous trees found throughout South Carolina's Low Country. Without further adieu, here is The Citadel: Here is the parade ground surrounded by barracks housing the college's cadets, as well as academic buildings, library, and the field house. The parade ground itself is surrounded by numerous Live Oaks. Here is the view of the Ashley River, with decorative cannons facing the river, over the marshes. The northern corner of The Citadel, surrounded by homes and businesses. Separated from the outside world by a decorative fence. Entry is restricted to two, guarded gate-houses to keep the cadets inside : The stadium where The Citadel Bulldog's play football, soccer, and lacrosse games: Eastern portion of the campus, abutting more marshland (still a WIP): Here is the North Charleston Botanical Park and Pond during autumn: Gravel parking lot at the Park, across the street from some very nice, historic houses: The park has several dirt paths to ride your bike, or go for a jog.   21. I figure since I've been floating around here since 2003, maybe I should start a CJ. Better 13 years late then never huh?? Today I'm going to give a somewhat brief back history on my region. It is based on my hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It will share many similarities of the real area as well as how It might of looked if events had been different. The map and layout share some similarities as well but is noticeably different. For instance, the Allegheny Mountains are further east and my region is at the edge of it's eastern Foothills and Piedmont. The river that flows thru Lancaster, the Conestoga is a lot wider compared to the real one but it maintains its curves quite well. Lancaster (Lang-kiss-ter) was laid out in March of 1718 by British settlers at the site of Hickory Town, a small trading village. Lancaster at the time was part of Chester County and a year later the County of Lancaster was formed. As the years went by, the settlement and the surrounding countryside steadily grew with British, Scottish, Irish, German, Dutch, and Swiss settlers. Lancaster became a Borough in 1728 and was incorporated into a city in 1742 with a population of 4,219. As the Colonies grew, so did resentment from the Native Indians who felt their land and way of life was being taken from them. Wars broke out through out the century but the Lancaster area experienced relative peace during this time and had a friendly relationship with the local Indians, the Conestoga of the Iroquoian speaking Susquehannock tribe. That all came to an end in December 1763 when a militia from northwest of the county raided their established home, Conestoga Town, killing three quarters of it's population and burned the town to the ground. Those who were able to escape were sheltered at a Quaker meeting house located in the middle of the city. A week later on Sunday December 27th, while the citizens were attending morning church services, the militia returned and massacred the remaining Indians. After that day, residents of the county vowed to protect the good and innocent from those who desire bloodshed to push their agenda. On January 1st 1764, the Lancaster Militia was formed and to this day remain in service as an active duty armored cavalry unit based a mile from the site of the massacre. During the Revolutionary War, Lancaster was an important manufacturing center for the Continental Army. The Lancaster Barracks north of the city was established after the Battle of Wheatland in October 1777. The post and cemetery where built over the battlefield. The winter of 1777-1778 brought extreme hardship to the Army as they hunkered down in Valley Forge just east of the county. the living conditions were so grim that the Continental Congress ordered General Washington to mobilize his troops to the newly created barracks in Lancaster. Many soldiers did not survive the march, but many more would have fallen if the stayed at Valley Forge. Once in Lancaster, over half of the soldiers were treated at the new Pennsylvania Military Hospital for frostbite, malnourishment, gangrene, and a plethora of diseases. Locals supported the troops by providing food and clothing. By spring the Army was mending and with the arrival of Baron Von Steuben, the Army was a respectable force to be reckoned with. The Army left in the middle of June and the Lancaster Barracks became a center for training soldiers and mending wounds from the battlefield as well as housing prisoners. There would be no further conflicts conflicts in the region. By the end of the war and Philadelphia being both the newly minted nations capitol and the state capitol, it was decided to vote on moving the state capitol away from the city to a more central location. Lancaster received the most votes due to being the largest inland city in the state (1790 population of 12,454) and quick, relatively easy access from Philadelphia and Baltimore. It had a navigable river which leads to the Chesapeake Bay, and vast resources such as metal/gunsmiths, textiles, agriculture, and higher education. In 1799 the state capital was moved to Lancaster at a site along the Conestoga River on the northern end of the city. Ok so maybe it's not so brief as I've only gotten to the end of the 18th century. In the next installment I'm going to babble on about Lancaster's place in the 19th century and I'll throw up a bit more pics but for now y'all get just one, the region! I'm pretty well photoshop/gimp illiterate so there probably will be no touchups to the pics besides what Imgur can do. After that it'll be the 20th century and we'll see the city and it's countryside grow big time! That's about it for now! I hope I didn't bore y'all too much and I'll always be open for advice and critiques!

    JB Freidman is the home of Canaan's naval and marine forces. The base is built on two islands, Sowell and Mises. The larger island, Sowell, is home to the Canaan Operational Command Center (COCC). Naval personnel like their base tidy, symmetrical and color coordinated... There is not a Top Secret Naval Warfare research center on Sowell Island... There is a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) Logistics depot. Mises Island (aka "the men's department") is home to Canaan's naval force projection assets. Mises Naval Air Station is home to fleet support assets including jump-jets and helicopters.

    Those representing the people of Canaan use Air Force One when traveling abroad. The aircraft is based out of JB Wolfram. The military's aerial demonstration team is also based at JB Wolfram. The Canaan Intelligence Agency is perched on the northern edge of the airstrip. The Fermi Center is home to some of the region's top engineers and some of it's poorest military bureaucrats. Commissioned Officers live on the Eastern side of base, while NCOs live on the Western portion. Junior enlisted members live in centrally located apartment housing. Everyone shares the same fitness center.

  25. Canaan's Military Installations

    Those living in Canaan are expected to defend the right to engage in peaceful, honest pursuits, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The city-state has a neutral foreign policy position, but recognizes that in matters of national defense, armed force must be exacted upon belligerents. Check out some of the locations responsible for delivering the most fundamental promise of Government...Security! Joint-Base Wolfram is located on the Northwest border of the region. Every citizen receives basic military training there. JB Wolfram is the largest military base in the region. Canaan’s citizens are required to serve in the military reserves between the ages of 18-24. Every individual is issued an automatic rifle and is required to store and maintain that weapon for the rest of their life. Most households contain several generations-worth of rifles in their weapons safe. The Parade Ground is where troops learn how to march. The Shooting range helps sharpen killer instinct and marksmanship. The obstacle course is not for the faint of heart. Recruits must negotiate a tear gas balance beam, get around a Grizzly bear, and battle their classmates in the pugil pit. "Canaazikstan" Is a fictional village where soldiers learn how to function in urban combat environments. Check back for more!
