  1. Show us your Before/After Shots!

A couple of comparison pics, the first one with almost pure vanilla (only NAM installed) and the latter one after 2.5 GB of plugins, four RL years and 370 sim years: 2013 2017
  2. Show us Your Interchanges!

Replaced that interchange I posted here last time. Proof of concept: Construction underway: And here's the thing all finished and dressed up. Features accel/decel lanes, fractional angle and R3 smooth curves. many ramps could also be easily expanded for even more capacity. Extra: footprint comparison, I actually managed to reduce the space it takes.
Great looking and modular! These will surely find their way in my city, thanks!
  3. Cahalane Communications

Another beautiful reinterpretation of a not-at-all-bad Maxis original, thanks!
  4. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

Oh!!!! this little tweak has so much potential. If I am extrapolating correctly, a No Kickout file for medium wealth would also ensure those rows of 1x2 quaint little suburban houses don't get swallowed by those pesky Mcmansions, right? This little file plus the Less Abandonment mod would be the way, to build suburbs, at least for me. Thanks so much for this!!! Me, I'm currently building dense 100% urban environments with many wall to wall blocks, that require special attention to ensure the buildings fit and look nice with each other, whenever a buiding fits, it has to be made historical. It's not the most practical style of playing but it is incredibly satisfying to see those kinds of blocks finished. To me the Holy Grail would be a mod that allowed to plop residential lots without them becoming abandoned, so my Holy Grail quest would be less an epic story and more like the Monty Python movie... And just to keep on topic in this thread, here's a little example of those wall to wall blocks I mentioned: low, medium and high wealth buildings all coexisting with each other.
  5. More Brown Boxes

That would be me, and this is the topic, for reference. I never recieved any kind of alert from windows when extracting the files, I don't know if it was because I'm on win 7 or because I extracted them directly from the .zip using WinRAR or because there were more files that didn't have the length issue. In any case, I'd say the most likely cause for this particluar situation is the missing model @T Wrecks mentions. From the screenshot it looks like the player is using the I-D Addon set, but not the Base Pack, and the lots with the problem seem to be from the I-D Addon indeed. Looking at the IRM's folder structure, the dummy building model has a shorter path than any of the lot files, including the Addon ones, so if the IRM Base Pack was installed and there is a path lenght issue none of the lots would be able to load properly, I'm 90% sure path lenghts aren't the issue here.
  6. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

@CorinaMarie interesting tweak, i don't use CAM or SPAM in my current plugins folder, suited strictly for urban environments, it should be a welcome addition for me too, since the way I usually make R$ buildings stick around is by making each one of them historical. Me being a control freak who picks many of the buildings almost manually before even growing them, and who makes everything historical, I don't like how the simulator just pushes out low wealth sims whenever you do so much as to add a single grass tile. Besides, I like to keep all my sims healthy and educated, and it really doesn't help that R$ gets harder to develop once your sims get even the most basic of services... Maybe I should take a look at the Building Development exemplars and see what I can tweak.... Anyway, I'm rambling, but I actually had a little something to show: A street with bike lanes turning into a dedicated bikepath, a neat visual trick achieved using the RHW disconector, MGB's SAM7, and Paeng's bikepaths.
  7. Show us your Overview of your City/Town

Some pictures of the district of West Aurora, a city tile that just turned 500. I've been playing it since 2013, and I've been adding and tweaking stuff as my plugins folder grows larger, there's still a way to go, but I'm satisfied with how it's turning out. The view to the north. To the south Nightshot with fireworks, view to the east.
  8. ^^One of my favourite Zeppelin songs!^^ Was listening to some Lou Reed before heading out for the day I had been meaning to post here for a while, lots of interesting music.
  9. The Milestone Thread

I just noticed that I recently got to 750 rep points!
  10. Rrrrrise from the dead! I really left this thread forgotten most of this year, and I've been posting my latest project advancements in the Spanish language club. I'm updating this one with a link to my latest release, in case anybody missed it here it is: The historic pack number two of my Lat Am project!. And I'll leave a teaser of a small project I'm releasing this week: growable versions of some Diego Del Llano's latin american office towers. See you soon (hopefully)
  11. So many mods . . . which should I pick?

Sound advice here, you should first get NAM and fixes and then purely cosmetic mods, while you get familiarized with the simulation. Some mods require you to start a fresh region because they change things that you may have already developed in a city: for example, the IRM (short for Industrial Revolution Mod) which is a must-have in my opinion, but requires you to start a new region or bulldoze every industrial lot you may already have, which can mess with your economy. My advice when you start installing gameplay mods and custom lots would be to Start a region with cities that you're not gonna miss, just for experimentation and to test these kinds of plugins to see if you like them..
  12. SM2 Concrete Sound Barriers

I was waiting for these to come out, very good work! versatile, good-looking and really useful. A must-have.
  13. ¡Genial!
  14. I think it could be possible for the building model itself to appear smaller if it was re-scaled and overriden, and then the re-scaled override didn't load. But I'm afraid without screenshots and without knowing what building we're talking about. there's not much anyone can say about the issue.
  15. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Hello, I'm looking for this diagonal building, as seen is korver's Toronto update: And also this big, kind of y-shaped apartment buildings: Thanks in advance!
  16. Colossus Farming

Impressive! There's no quantity vs quality dichotomy here, the lotting is greatly detailed and thematically consistent, and the diversity of lots and fields is just awesome, and I love that you also included filler and supporting lots to complete the theme. This is one of the best mods that have come out in the year! Now I have to start an agriculture-centered region!
  17. Version 1.0

    732 Downloads

English The third installment in my Lat Am Project, which seeks to revive and remaster forgotten latin american content from various creators. This pack brings to you 9 lots featuring 8 building models from LBT members Elegost/Berethor07 and Tcxalapa. These are all latin american historic buildings; this pack's contents range from small hostels to the Grand Diligencias Hotel from the city of Veracruz, Mexico. They're perfect for an old city centre! There's medium and high wealth commercial services and a couple of medium wealth offices, plus a residential version for the hotels and hostels. The lots come in 2x2, 2x3, 4x3 and 4x4 lots, and develop on low, medium and high density zones. They are modded so that they only grow when the “Chicago” tileset is selected (in the building styles menu), you can control where and when to develop them this way. Ingame, they will also show the name of the building in Spanish or Portuguese if your SimCity 4 is installed in any of these languages, If it is installed in any other language the names will show in English. If you want to plop them you can use the LotPlop command and search for them between your commercial buildings, the lots follow the default naming convention. You'll need either of the avaliable Extra Cheats dlls. You can check the included bilingual documentation for a full catalogue and more info on stats and so on. Dependencies Make sure you download and install the files marked as essential in your Plugins, if you don't, you will get brown boxes instead of the actual buildings! Some textures will also be missing. The files marked as optional add details to the lots, although they're not strictly necessary, installing them is recommended to get the full detailing. Essential: LBT Colonial models by Elegost LBT Colonial models by tcxalapa LBT Mega Texture Pack Optional: LBT Mega Prop Pack vol 01 BSC Mega Props CP vol 01 (Requires registration on SC4Devotion's LEX, LEX and SC4D forums accounts are different) Romualdillo Props vol 01 (Also requires LEX registration) Other recommended downloads This set of buildings will mix nicely with other content made by this creators: Adrianor Debussyman Harishna Maloskero Notes I did not make the model(s) and do not claim any credit for them, all credit goes to Elegost/Berethor07 and Tcxalapa. However, I did give the buildings their stats and made lots for them, you can edit those lots or the descriptor files however you want, for personal use. You can't redistribute any of the included content, but you can use it to make new creations. The modding of this buildings was made using the PIM-X tool, so there shouldn't be any problem with these buildings throwing the game off balance. If you run into any issues, or want to see other things I'm working on, pay a visit to my lot thread in Simtropolis, you can also PM me there @Edvarz. Enjoy!
  18. The Lat Am Project: Historic Pack 2

Here, this one is a link to all of my content in the STEX, you can also click on "Find their other files" under my name in this upload page.
  19. The Lat Am Project: Historic Pack 2

@huzman It's the third installment of my LatAm Project, the first would be my wall to wall pack and the second the other historic pack. Maybe I should stop numbering things like that, I can see it leading to confusion, It was a silly way to organize my projects.
  20. IRM I-HT Modern Warehouses by SimGoober

Really useful buildings, glad they got into the IRM. One small detail: The screenshots show a 4x5 lot instead of a 4x6 as stated in the description. EDIT: No longer an issue.
  22. Los Angeles

Nice!! I fell in love with LA's Art Decó from playing L.A. Noire, I especially liked the Bullocks Wilshire, Venice Beach and Griffith Observatory pics. I agree with Bastet about the mansions in the LBT pack, there are some californian style mansions there that would look right at home in Hollywood Hills. Nevertheless, an amazing update as always!
  23. Hmmmm...
  24. TL-LBT Modular Gardens

Great! The original plaza lots were good, but making them modular is waay better!
