About This File

Mod content:

134 growable CAM-patible farm lots, each one individually designed, ranging from tiny romantic (stage 1) to dystopian agricultural scifi (stage 10).

45 new or completely reworked field lots with crops like canola, cabbage, bamboo, potatoes, strawberries, artichokes, animated lifestock or elements like grow tunnels, greenhouses, vertical farms.

250 new props/bats.

70 new textures

6 ploppable functional lots

13 cosmetic puzzle pieces to add fences and farm tracks to the fields.

Mod's purpose:

Collecting some of the best farming stuff, adding own stuff where needed and creating something with an overall concept from it. This means building up complete themes like winery, lumber industries, lifestock farming, grain production, including different elements of the productions chains (grain -> brewery, life stock -> slaughtery) - so for each city of your region there can be different main focus of agricultural production.

Mod's challenge:

This mod can be very demanding on computer/game performance and there may be actions to take about this. Also setup requires some patience as you have to make certain decissions and you have to select and sort content different according to this decissions. It's recommended to wait for a rainy afternoon to install this mod.

It's essential to read chapter 1,2 and 3 of the included documentation.

 

Dependencies

This mod requires at least 38 dependencies (depending on your choices more). This is no put and play - you need to follow installation instructions of the documentation). Do this step by step.

For easier management the dependencies are broken down into five sections. For performance reasons it's recommended to datpack some of the sections containing smaller files into a single bigger one after you are done and everything works.

Whoa, I can't believe I have not even commented this file yet!

I've been following the creation of this mod for a while, and I must say that it is a huge, almost daunting task to make something like this. Having made the basic IRM, I think I have a vague idea of how much work went into this endeavour: it starts with scouring the upload areas for suitable buildings, tinkering with the concept, slogging through prop packs and taking note of anything that might become useful and much more, and this is way before the first lot even comes to life!

What follows is a long process of shoving stuff around, trying out things, and - not to forget - lots of mind-numbing grunt work, number crunching, editing.

The final step is documentation, which is always a drag for me - and I haven't managed to include charming details such as the recommendation to save the dependencies installation for a rainy day. *:lol:

Looking beyond the work that I know was involved here, I should also mention that many of the lots struck me as very original and clever combinations of industrial buildings with farm props, all paired with quite credible background stories, immaculate lotting, and the inclusion of some self-made (or self-converted/modded) assets.

All in all, this is one of THE spectacular uploads in 2017 and by far the biggest and best treatment farming in SC4 has received in a long time. Hats off for pulling this through, Mr. Fantozzi, and both thumbs up!

Astonishing amount of work and a lot of variety. Farming is a fairly under-represented area of SC4: kudos for filling the gap with such an interesting array of lots and props *:thumb:

Impressive! There's no quantity vs quality dichotomy here, the lotting is greatly detailed and thematically consistent, and the diversity of lots and fields is just awesome, and I love that you also included filler and supporting lots to complete the theme. This is one of the best mods that have come out in the year! Now I have to start an agriculture-centered region!

Looks like I'm going to be rebuilding every single agricultural area in my region. 

The lotting looks fantastic and the sheer diversity of everything is mind-boggling! I love that you get 10(!) stages of farms to truly watch your agriculture go from humble fields to giant futuristic vertical farms. The time and amount of work you put into this set is nothing short of extraordinary!

Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to do some dependency hunting...

      Tariel-Villavicencio Chateau-Beynac Grand Cru 7x6 Grow
      I like good wine (that’s “Grand Cru” meaning in French). So here’s a vineyard, relotted from Villavicencio’s creation.
      The lot is IR stage 2 (agro-industry) and Grow only [cheat lotplop to the rescue !].  It can be extended with more vineywards on two sides at your leisure.

      Many thanks to my technical gurus, Rsc204, Kosc and Dreadnought. And especially Rivit, who lighted my SC4world and is always generously ready to help. And the guys and gals on the forums (Twalsh, Matias93, Fantozzi, Catty-cb, Corinamarie…). We need help when we begin peeking under the hood of SC4. That the community is always there for us noobies is a constant and pleasant reassurance. General warnings :
      General warnings :
      (1) This is for SC4 Rush Hour.
      (2) I play with NAM36, RRW-EU selection (it shouldn’t interfere here, but you never know !)
      (3) I also play with Twrecks Maxis HD Tree Replacement (if you don’t use it, your trees might look a bit different ; perhaps you should use it,,,)
       (4) I play Nights. Hence the included RVT zNightLighting. Depending on your using or not a Light Replacement Mod, the lighting will be slightly different, but There Will Be Light. If you don’t want it, you can either tweak my lights in the Lot Editor or get rid of them entirely.
      (5) I like trees. I make intensive use of trees. Especially Girafe tree collection on the LEX ; so here’s a link, once for all ; just follow it into the woods.

      This is the most glorious farming mod I've ever come across, credits to all who helped make it work. I play it with CAM 2.1.0
      And it does work. However I was thoroughly reading the Colossus farming manual .pdf regarding the installation procedure and there's one line of information I tumble over.
      There's the Sunflower dependency by HunD88 where according to the writer of the manual I have to edit the lot file if I want to use the sunflowers with CAM otherwise it supposedly overwrites CAM data. Not sure what the writer of that manual meant with this regarding consequences if undone but it sounds pretty bad if I don't.
      The colossus farming manual says this about the sunflower dependency >
      I use both, and I want to.
      Further down the manual is the list containing many ID's, including the one for Sunflowers. I need to change the ID to 0xA5F3E522 but I don't know where.
      I opened the Sunflower farm fields .lot file with Ilives reader and I'm clueless about what number to change to 0xA5F3E522.

      I'm trying to install the Colossus addon mod for the first time in my life. I'm running on Windows 10 x64.
      I'm in possession of a Ubuntu Xenial xerus partition also with which I could run this game in Wine in case the issue is OS compatibility. 
      I get this when installing CAM.

      Should there be a third window besides the Setup that the notepad window calls "SC4 Dat packer"
      It isn't there, I don't know what it is asking of me. All I could do is close the notepad window with my fingers crossed and then this happened.

      Log file is on the left.
      Apparently I miss a DLL file. Right?
      It would be handy if the log file could inform me what DLL file was missing.
      Anyhow, what do I need to solve this matter?

      EDIT: This dood seems to have the exact same copy of my problem. He said he got it fixed but wasn't bothered to tell the rest of the world how he did it, what a shame. Anyway, I donwloaded the 3 DLL files. I don't have DAT packer installed because CAM didn't listed it as a dependency. Do I need Datpacker for CAM to install? I just installed it and dropped the DLL files into the Datpacker folder because it to failed to launch for which I had to download those 3 mentioned DLL files in the topic here under. But the CAM installation still gives the same errors. And I don't know how to fix it.

      Old County Courthouse V3.0.1 (Reward) CAM 2.1 Version

      1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW

      This is a Relot of my 2nd upload from April 2016 and still the second one in a series of Rewards based on BAT models made by other artists. This version is made for users using the CAM 2.1 MOD by InvisiChem.
      There is also an updated version of this lot available, if you’re using the Vanilla version of this game.

      This upload (updated version 3.0.1 for CAM 2.1), a recreation of the Old Delaware County Courthouse made by Mattb325, is an old, medium sized Courthouse, that was made by its creator from historic photos and drawings of the Delaware County Courthouse that once stood in Muncie, Indiana.

      This wonderful BAT comes on a new lot and features a custom icon and custom query window. I used the original seasonal trees here and the nightlight is also like the original BAT.
      You will find this lot in the Rewards menu right next to the In-Game Courthouse.

      Why is it a Reward and only available onces?
      This Reward is made for players, who want to work and reach a goal in the game and finally get WHAT? A REWARD of course…
      You don’t like it? Well, than this download in NOT for you!

      NOTE ABOUT THE DEPENDENCIES:
      This BAT is for you, if you like “realistic” looking and detailed buildings in your city. There are so many awesome creations like textures and other props made by the community out there, and I think, we should use them.
      You don’t like dependencies? Well, again, then unfortunately this download is NOT for you!

      NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE:
      I am sure the building was rendered for Maxis Nite, but it should work both with the original Maxis Nite and the Dark Nite Mods.

      2 - USE

      You need to extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should then create a folder MSRB\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. Within that folder, you will find all the game-relevant files and a sub-folder containing the PDF Readme!!! and some screenshot(s). I strongly suggest that you keep your plugins organized, this original download in a safe place and remove all pics and this description from your plugins. These are not needed for this BAT to work.

      If you no longer wish to use this download, proceed as follows:

      1.      Bulldoze all lots pertaining to this download

      2.      Save all the cities and exit the game when you're done bulldozing

      3.      Remove the associated files from your plugins folder

      Hint: Just to be sure, I recommend moving the undesired files somewhere else and doing some checks before you delete them permanently. This way, if it turns out you forgot to bulldoze something, you can add it back in temporarily until you're done.

      Updated Version 3.0.1:
      This is a total new conversion intend to use with the Colossus Addon MOD 2.1 by InvisiChem. I adjusted the statistic values to work with this MOD. You’ll need the Rush Hour Expansion set fully patched to 1.1.640.0 or a Digital version patched to 1.1.641.0 to use this release. Enjoy!

      yeah so I got the CAM mod with deluxe edition, and I can get all the buildings and the dependencies, but when I start up the game, a warning just says "these plugins arent available on your machine." all camlots have brown boxes, and i dont know how to fix it. what should I do? is this a bug? i have a steam retail version so please explain in simplified format on what to do to fix these missing textures.
