Colossus Addon Mod 4.0 Out Now! CAM Team is pleased to announce the release of Colossus Addon Mod 4.0 where bugfixes and new features are introduced. Below is the complete list of changes in CAM 4.0: CAM DOWNLOAD You can download CAM through SC4Pac (it takes a few days to officially support start) or manually through these links: NEON & CONTROLNET In addition, with the release of CAM 4.0, we finally have the launch of the Next-Gen Energy Operating System (NEON). The mod, which began as a spin-off of AMPS (Allied Municipal Power of Simtropolis), is finally available in its initial version. There is still work to be done and bugs to fix, but for now you can follow the development and submit reports on this page Along with NEON, the ControlNet mod will be released, allowing you to simulate the ControlNet gameplay mechanics from SimCity 2013 in SC4. For now, it’s only visible via the UI and includes a non-functional variable, but support will be added around CAM 4.5. PIM-X SUPPORT & NEW PROPERTIES Usually, the release of CAM also involves updates to New Properties and PIM-X, but this time there will be no updates because PIM-X is undergoing a major overhaul, and work is also underway on New Properties; an announcement will be made in due course. In the meantime, users can download the experimental, non-final version on GitHub. (This is also why the manuals haven't been updated, they need to be rewritten for the new PIM-X) https://github.com/NAMTeam/New_Properties.xml/blob/staging/new_properties.xml In addition, a preview of the new PIM-X, which now includes tools for creating Transit Enable (TE) WARNING TO MAC USERS Unfortunately Colossus Addon Mod 3.0 and later versions will only work for the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsoft Windows and Linux only). This means that macOS users and all users using a different version of SimCity 4 will not be able to use CAM 3.0 or higher. If CAM is installed on unsupported systems you may experience mod and game malfunctions and will not be able to receive support. So it is recommended to use SimCity 4 version 1.1.641 which is available on GOG, Steam and EA App and for Mac users it is recommended to use WINE or Virtual Machine to run the Microsoft Windows digital version of SimCity 4. CAM 5.0 CAM 5.0 will not be developed, as the CAM 4.0 platform will undergo further major updates; therefore, CAM 5.0 will most likely be released next year ( But most likely, CAM 5.0 will be Windows 12, meaning it won't be released anytime soon.), though the exact date is not yet certain. However, there will be development logs for the upcoming updates, which will first be available on the Experimental channel and then to the general public. So stay tuned for the next development diary.

Colossus Addon Mod - Nex-gen Energy Operating System (NEON) is the mod that revolutionizes energy gameplay by introducing mechanics that simulate the management of a power grid. Originally created as a spin-off of AMPS (Allied Municipal Power of Simtropolis), the mod underwent a code overhaul to incorporate new features using Mod DLLs and a reorganization of the power plants The mod was developed by the various members of the CAM Team who over time have brought modifications to improve this mod Please note that this pack may receive updates in the near future. Do not redistribute without asking first, mostly as doing so would complicate efforts to properly maintain, update, and provide technical support for the pack. WARNING: From version 2.5 onward Colossus Addon Mod works only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsfot Windows and Linux only). If you run CAM 2.5 or later on systems other than those listed, the mod may malfunction and no support is provided. Installation This package is a simple .zip file. Just extract the a_CAM folder to your My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins directory (or equivalent, if you have a custom Plugins folder location). It is highly recommended to run the cleanitol with the installer and remove any previous versions from your plugins. Optionally in the ~Documents folder in the main ZIP you can find a collective/master and by using either the newer nos.17's SC4 Cleanitol or the older BSC Cleanitol tool you can search and remove old and outdated versions of these files. DLL Dependencies In order for the contents of this package to display correctly by taking advantage of the new DLL Mods requires the complete installation of the following dependencies(the below listed dependencies are covering a full install; for dependencies for individual collections see the list of contents section): Submenu DLL - this file is needed to run the submenus Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsfot Windows and Linux only). Query Tool UI Extensions DLL for SimCity 4 - This file is necessary for the correct functioning of the queries Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsfot Windows and Linux only). Lua Extensions DLL - This file is necessary for the correct functioning of LUA Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsfot Windows and Linux only). Lua Sandbox DLL - This file is required to ensure greater security when running LUA scripts Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsfot Windows and Linux only). Resource Loading Hooks DLL - this file is needed to run the Exemplar Patch Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsfot Windows and Linux only). I've been away from the SC4 community for awhile, so my old videos on mods, bugfixes and NAM installation are very out of date now. So at long last, here's a new, concise guide to installing and playing SC4 on a modern PC. To experienced modders out there, please let me know if there's any bad advice in this and I'll work to inform the general public! My goal is to get people into the game, keep the community vibrant and (hopefully) reduce unnecessary tech support queries.

Colossus Addon Mod - Universal Commercial CAP Fix is the zero-day patch that permanently fixes the Commercial CAP bug affecting Real Highway (Dirty Road) in influencing commercial demand. The main purpose of this mod is to universally fix (i.e., compatible with CAM, SPAM, and Vanilla users) the low generation of commercial demand by Real Highway, add the creation of demand from neighborhood connections for streets and one-way roads and boost demand using mass transit (Subway, Elevated Rail, Railway, High-Speed Railway / Monorail and Pedestrian Streets) in addition to assigning a reduction of CAP (for balancing purposes) to water pipes and transmission lines. The mod contains two variants: Vanilla Variant The Vanilla variant is ideal if you want to maintain an experience closer to the game with the essential fix related to RHW. Road: 10000 Railroad: 10000 Elevated Highway: 100000 Street: 0 Pipe: 0 Power Line: 0 Avenue: 20000 Subway: 20000 Lightrail: 20000 Monorail: 20000 One Way Road: 0 Real Highway: 50000 Ground Highway: 100000 Radical Variant The radical variant is recommended if you want to reduce the car-centric view of the game by increasing the CAP related to mass transit connections and introducing penalties related to transmission networks and water pipes. Road: 10000 Railroad: 40000 Elevated Highway: 100000 Street: 10000 Pipe: -1000 Power Line: -1000 Avenue: 20000 Subway: 30000 Lightrail: 30000 Monorail: 40000 One Way Road: 10000 Real Highway: 50000 Ground Highway: 100000 The mod was developed by the various members of the CAM Team who over time have brought modifications to improve this mod Please note that this pack may receive updates in the near future. This is a set of 54 renewed growable lots using Oneil Buildings. There is a CAM and Maxis Stages version of the lots (nonCAM). Use only one set of lots! As with my previous packs I´ve spread out the buildings functions to cover different growable types, not everything will be a commercial office or luxury residence in this pack. CAM version of the lots are spread out between stages 9 and 14. There are quite a few lots larger than 4x4 so check the screenshots for available building types and the lot sizes. Some lots don´t need high density zoning but since most of them are skyscrapers expect to zone densely. All of the lots come with seasonal flora and some also have tropical variations, since a few building models come with tropical flora. Pretend they are plastic decorations for the seasonal lots. Colossus Addon Mod - Core Experimental Support
Ulisse Wolf posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Colossus Addon Mod - Core Exprerimental Colossus Addon Mod - Core File is the main dependency of CAM. This Core File is suitable for both players using CAM and both SPAM and Pure Vanilla players. This package consists mainly of code and support files for UI, LText, and Exemplar. However, it does make many alterations to various Maxis default buildings that are designed for use with CAM, and also modifies Lua files affecting the Advisor system and other functionality of the game. To speed up debugging and testing of new features, we decided to create an experimental version of CAM Core where you can preview the new features of the future version of CAM. This version can only be installed via SC4Pac, as it allows the creation of a controlled environment. WARNING: This version is an experimental version. Please do not use this mod on regions where you play the game, as it may cause CTDs and corruption. Use this mod in a test region. CAM DOWNLOAD WARNING TO MAC USERS Unfortunately Colossus Addon Mod 3.0 and later versions will only work for the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsoft Windows and Linux only). Missing I-R jobs in Census Repository 4.0
Tommy Vercetti posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hello everyone. Initially I've posted my question under the mod's comment section directly. I was kindly advised to create a new topic instead, so here I am. I've started a new region (San Francisco) with CAM 3.0. I've worked on a single tile only - the small rural town, that is mostly comprised of low-wealth sims, some shops, a little bit of manufacturing facilities and a lot of farms. I don't have any neighbour connections, nor any more cities in the region. I carefully read through a lot of info about the Census Repository mod and it's evolution history - a lot went over my head. But what I've noticed is that the "Industrial Jobs" value for the "Region" column doesn't take into consideration farms. From the screenshot you can see that there are 181 manufacturing jobs and 5,186 jobs from farms. Yet the total is indicated as 181. I am aware of the I-R fix, but learned that it is not needed to be installed separately when CAM 3.0 is installed since the latter arlready includes it. I am using the sc4pac package manager and indeed the I-R fix is installed as a dependency. But... the repository doesn't take it into consideration. Is it just a representation value bug that is contained inside the UI window only? Or does it reveal some bigger issue on the front of the demand/supply mechanic? Is it a bug in the first place or I am missing something completely? P. S. I've got a few more questions about this mod as well: Thanks in advance.- 14 Replies

Hi, everyone! I used to play SimCity 4 many many many years ago and returned recently! This time I discovered Simtropolis, and many new things (to me): CAM, NAM, and other things and I’d like some help with this new things. I instaled CAM, but what eles I should install? You really think NAM is necessary? And do I have to install more things to make CAM work properly? Do you sugest me to install what? In this page, what do you recomend? Should I install everything? Just to confirm: CAM doesn’t have new buildings, i have to download them, correct? And one more question: Census repository facility How this can help me to plan my cities and region? I had a dificult time trying to understand what information is possible to extract from Census. Some advice, please? Does it helps me to know the stage my region is? Or what? And one last question: my new region after started with CAM don’t grow population. How many cities do I have to create to reach new stages? I have 4 medium cities completed and 7 small cities completed (I mean: all infraestructure is ok, absolutely everything like water, electricity, transport, education, everyting!) Do I have to build many more of the region to achiev bigger buildings? Thanks!!!

Below is the complete list of changes in CAM 3.0: CAM DOWNLOAD You can download CAM through SC4Pac (it takes a few days to officially support start) or manually through these links: Simtropolis SC4Evermore https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/414-colossus-addon-mod-core-files https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/386-colossus-addon-mod-ordinances https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/416-colossus-addon-mod-casino-specialization https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/415-colossus-addon-mod-spam-controller https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/51-colossus-addon-mod-CAM-controller https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/418-colossus-addon-mod-manuals CAM GENERAL SUPPORT From CAM 3.0 onwards, a thread is available for general support of CAM and all its components. Some components have separate threads. Here are the links PIM-X SUPPORT PIM-X has been updated to make it compatible with CAM 3.0 by introducing new features and bugfixes. More information is available here: https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/29-modding-and-creation-tools/21-sc4pim New Properties is also available as a standalone download. This is the main file for creating and editing batches with PIM-X and according to CAM & PIM-Xd specifications. https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/29-modding-and-creation-tools/417-new-properties WARNING TO MAC USERS Unfortunately Colossus Addon Mod 3.0 and later versions will only work for the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsoft Windows and Linux only). CAM 4.0 The development of CAM 4.0 has yet to begin, as there is still planning to be done regarding the content that will be included. One of the most eagerly awaited pieces of content is undoubtedly AMPS, but this requires a great deal of specific work. There are also plans to expand MZ City Halls, which will become a sort of Government Expansion, but nothing has been decided yet. So stay tuned for the next development diary.

Hi, I am a fairly new player in SC4. I have several mods and buildings that I have added to my plugins folder. However, I have come across a peculiar situation and need some help. So I was using the MoneyTree on one city of mine. However, the game ended abruptly as I was apparently making so much money the game registered it as me losing all of my money. So, in order to deal with this problem, I downloaded the Extra Cheats DLL so I could use the Moolah cheat and set the amount of Simoleons in my treasury to however much I want it to be. However, as soon as I did this, I noticed that my Mayor Ratings suddenly plummet hard into the negatives. Unfortunately before even noticing the effect this cheat had on my ratings, I saved the game which means I cannot go back to the city before this phenomenon occurred. The only thing that stops this from happening is if I toggle the Mayor Rating ordinance, but even then it causes the Mayor Rating to go up into four bars at most. Before this happened, my mayor rating was practically perfect. What happened? And how can I fix it? Is this a matter of plugins butting heads? I have attached a few screenshots detailing what plugins I have installed. Thanks in advance!

CAM Specialization: Casino - Development and Support
Ulisse Wolf posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
CAM Specialization: Casino - Development and Support CAM Specialization: Casino is a new component that allows you to manage a city based on tourism and gambling. In this thread, you can receive support for the mod and learn about recent developments. You can also request to have your casino included in the narrative story. In order to add your casino, you must enter the mod link and indicate the unlock conditions for the casino so that I can proceed with adding your casino to the LUA code. Adding additional information such as the name of the company that runs the casino, whether the casino is controlled by the mafia, etc., is useful information that allows you to further characterize your casino in the narrative. Mod link https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/45-colossus-addon-mod-CAM/416-colossus-addon-mod-casino-specialization KNOWN ISSUES The narrative story of the expansion pack is incomplete due to the LEX restoration. There will be further updates when the LEX content is restored. Due to a bug in the Lua Extensions DLL (most likely), the reward system and therefore the narrative story cannot be completed. In this case, we recommend using the cheat “you don't deserve it” or modifying the Legalize Gambling Ordinance Upgrade ini file to increase the revenue from the gambling ordinance.-

Colossus Addon Mod 3.0 - Development Diary #2
Ulisse Wolf posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
A new Colossus Addon Mod 3.0 development diary has finally arrived where we go over the new features that CAM 3.0 will introduce SC4PAC AND MANUAL INSTALLATION When CAM 2.5 was released, it was designed without mod managers, so it had a monolithic system similar to NAM, but with SC4Pac we can abandon the monolithic structure and move to a modular structure. This has advantages and disadvantages, which we will now look at. The main advantage of SC4Pac is the ability to create an interconnected dependency system allowing people to automatically install mods and dependencies. This allows larger mods to be broken down into smaller mods, as was the case with NAM. A key difference between NAM and CAM is that CAM can be split into multiple mods, allowing users to install the entire package or just certain parts of CAM and use CAM alongside RCI Vanilla/SPAM, minimizing interference. This involves a change in the architecture of the a_CAM folder, which will have a style very similar to NAM. With the new architecture we would have the following downloads: CAM Controller: All critical RCI simulation files are installed here CAM Core: This is where the support files for the various buildings are installed CAM Building: Files containing the buildings with CAM & PIM-X specifications are installed here. CAM Modpacc Zero: Files related to fixing critical issues in the game are installed here in addition to improvements In addition CAM Controller will be of two types: CAM Controller: The CAM controller for a complete installation CAM-SPAM: Special controller that contains SPAM files and all CAM modifications that do not affect RCI Simulation inherent to Stages (Ideal for vanilla players who want to use CAM enhancements) This move minimizes interference between CAM and SPAM by allowing CAM players to use SPAM farms without any problems. Obviously, SPAM farms require adjournment to prune them to the CAM standard, but already eliminating possible problems with controllers is an achievement. Although the advantages are enormous, this modularity and flexibility actually have some disadvantages, such as incorrect installation by users, which can cause the RCI simulation to malfunction. Many of these problems are caused by users not reading the ReadMe files and various manuals. In addition, there have been cases where users installed CAM along with incompatible mods and problems occurred in the RCI system because they did not read the manual/ReadMe. To avoid future problems that can be solved by reading a manual, I decided that: Manual CAM installations are not recommended. The only installation method that will be supported is through SC4Pac, as it manages the installation of mods and blocks mods that are incompatible with CAM. This minimizes the errors that ordinary users make. Obviously, if the port is closed, the window is open, and experienced users can install CAM manually, as manual downloads will not be blocked. The new manual installation procedure includes the following steps: Apply the 4GB Patch Uninstall mods that are incompatible with CAM (If incompatible mods are present) Install CAM Modpacc Zero and related dependencies Install CAM Building Install CAM Core and related dependencies Install CAM Controller MIGRATION Migration has also undergone several critical changes for the new system, and below you can see who can migrate to CAM 3.0 and who cannot: Players coming from CAM 2.5 can upgrade to CAM 3.0 using only the CAM Controller Players from SPAM can switch to CAM 3.0 using only the CAM-SPAM Controller Players from vanilla can switch to CAM 3.0 using the CAM or CAM-SPAM Controller but must create a new region Players coming from CAM 2.1.1 cannot upgrade to CAM 3.0 Players from SPAM cannot switch to CAM 3.0 using only the CAM Controller. Players from vanilla cannot switch to CAM 3.0 if it is used in a developed region Players coming from CAM 3.0 with the CAM-SPAM Controller cannot switch to CAM 3.0 CAM Controller Players coming from CAM 3.0 with the CAM Controller cannot switch to CAM 3.0 CAM-SPAM Controller Also, CAM 2.1.1 that is available on SC4Evermore and SPAM that is available on STEX will be considered Legacy versions and will be preserved but are not recommended for installation. After the bad news, let's move on to the new features that will be officially introduced in CAM 3.0. GAMBLING SPECIALIZATION The big news in CAM 3.0 will be the specialization of gambling. With DLL Mods, it is finally possible to specialize the city in tourism and gambling, adding a new challenge to the gameplay. To start the specialization, enable the gambling ordinance, start the city, reach a population of 3,000 inhabitants, and earn 300 Simoleons from gambling to unlock your first casino. Once the goals are met, the Maxis Corporation wants to build the casino After the first casino is unlocked, other casinos can be unlocked, but this requires an increase in population and other unlocking conditions. The primary condition will be measured according to this formula: (Gambling Ordinance Revenue + Gambling Gaming Board Income) - Gambling Gaming Board Expenditures Based on this formula, we can obtain the actual gambling income and use it to define the unlocking conditions. Modders who plan to create casinos and want to include a CAM version can request inclusion of their casino in the LUA file on the CAM Core development page and can also dictate the unlocking conditions. Further information will be released in due course. Some casinos are considered special and will be unlocked under specific conditions as the final project of the specialization is the construction of your Las Vegas Strip. I am in the process of writing a story of this specialization in ironic style as has always distinguished SimCity 4 but due to the lack of LEX/SC4E content the story coming out with CAM 3.0 will be incomplete. As a small spoiler for the story, you can see Neil Fairbanks accepting bribes in Uncle Vinnie's new casino. You didn't see anything. From a technical standpoint, a new budget department has been introduced, called the Gaming Control Board, where you can view your casino's income and expenses. Gaming Control Board with the name of the city To conclude all the casinos will be in this specific submenu where there is a brief summary of the specialization INCINERATOR The old development diary mentioned incinerators, and with CAM 3.0 they will finally be available with several modifications. The incinerator has a waste elimination factor of 50% for the city, but unlike waste-to-energy plants, it only produces pollution. This is an alternative solution to recycling centers if you want to save money. SC3K Style is back more or less The graphs have been adjusted to show how waste is managed in the city, and here you can see the new graph in action with the new incinerator. The new graph in action The incinerator is currently undergoing final testing to eliminate bugs and incorporate pollution penalties, but it is ready to be released. CAM SUBMENU CAM introduces new submenus that enable improved building management. These submenus are specifically designed for CAM needs and, in the case of the energy sector, also for AMPS needs. The new CAM Submenu with graphically enhanced wind farm and water tower (Included in CAM) CAM Submenu icons were created by @hugues aroux. AMPS & CAM One of CAM's long-term goals is to incorporate AMPS, but this is a long and complex operation as it requires analysis and modification of the AMPS LUA code. I have been examining the code a little over the last few days and have started to include a very basic version of AMPS that only covers modular photovoltaic panels. This system involves the construction of the inverters, followed by the construction of the photovoltaic panels. The current system is a bit inconvenient as you have to position the photovoltaic panels individually and you always have to go to the menu, so I'm studying alternative solutions to facilitate the construction and there are still some bugs to fix. AESTHETICS AND ADDITIONAL PACKAGES Many cosmetic mods that modify Maxis civic buildings and Maxis utility buildings are incompatible with CAM due to the IID change, but after CAM 3.0, an optional package will be released that alters the aesthetics of Maxis lots. This package, along with other packages like Casino Expansion, will be a new way to manage CAM content without interfering with existing content. They are completely optional, so players can choose whether to install specific packages or all additional CAM packages. Furthermore, these packages will depend only on the CAM Core and are independent of the CAM Controller, which will be a necessary dependency for RCI growth buildings. We conclude this CAM 3.0 development report/journal for today and see you at the next CAM 3.0 development journal or at the release of CAM 3.0. -
