INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD Goobergen Labs by SimGoober 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW Last time we had the famous Fukitol capsules by GooberGen, this time we take a step back - into the labs where GooberGen does its research. The eighth upload in this series is GooberGen Labs by SimGoober. Since the fish tanks and the company sign are separate props, I could play around with different configurations and ended up making two versions with two lots each; one with two fish tank clusters and one with four fish tank clusters. I'm pretty pleased with the result if I may say so myself - the modular layout allowed for some nice configuration options, and I particularly enjoyed making the footpaths that connect to the fish tanks and being able to place a lot of shaded props around the tall building. Since all Maxis lots contained in the IRM Base Pack could optionally be used with toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler, this download is offered in two versions: a regular one for those who prefer the default job numbers, and a quadrupler-compatible version for those who prefer using the modified stats. The .sc4desc files for the regular version will look like this: IRM_[Filename].sc4desc The .sc4desc files for the quadrupler version will look like this: IRM_[Filename]_x4.sc4desc After downloading, simply delete the file of the version you don't want to use. If you leave both in your plugins, the quadrupler version will most probably override the default version. The default version of the building will provide: GooberGen Labs 1: 90 I-HT jobs, the quadrupler version 360 I-HT jobs. GooberGen Labs 2: 100 I-HT jobs, the quadrupler version 400 I-HT jobs. The following lots are included in this download: 5x6, Stage 3 (GooberGen Labs 1) 6x5, Stage 3 (GooberGen Labs 1) 6x6, Stage 3 (2 variations) (GooberGen labs 2) For those of you who like to play with day and night view, the building used on this lot is compatible with the following night light mode(s): Maxis Night with gradual day/night cycle: YES Maxis Night with static day or night: YES DarkNite* with static day or night: YES *DarkNite requires SimFox' Day and Nite Modd (or a similar darkening mod) to be installed in your plugins. 2 - USE If you extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should create a folder IRM\IRM Expansion\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. Within that folder, you will find all the game-relevant files and a sub-folder containing the HTML readme and some screenshot(s). If you no longer wish to use this download, proceed as follows: Bulldoze all lots pertaining to this download Save all the cities and exit the game when you're done bulldozing Remove the associated files from your plugins folder Hint: Just to be sure, I recommend moving the undesired files somewhere else and doing some checks before you delete them permanently. This way, if it turns out you forgot to bulldoze something, you can add it back in temporarily until you're done. 3 - DEPENDENCIES IRM Base Pack with all its dependencies - while these lots will technically work, they are meant to tie into the IRM. They may look out of place and show unexpected behaviour if used independently. Since this is an extension to the IRM, all the dependencies of the original pack still apply. If you have them in place, you can download every single growable IRM and IRM W2W lot I have ever made and will never have to download any additional packs for props and textures used on the lot. GooberGen Labs - you'll also need the original upload of the BAT to see the building(s). Only the .sc4model file is required. NOTE: For any dependency hosted at SC4Devotion (SC4D in short), you must be registered on that site and logged into the site's download area, the BSC File Exchange, in order to see the download button. Please bear in mind that there are separate logins for the forums and for the file exchange. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD Goobergen Pharmaceuticals by SimGoober 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW High-tech industry in SimCity would be unthinkable without companies like GooberGen, inventors of the tried and tested Fukitol capsules. So here we go again: The seventh upload in this series is another old classic, GooberGen Pharmaceuticals by SimGoober. This time around, we have a driveway to the backyard next to the entrance and, in the case of the wider lot, another open area to the right of the building, both with some employee cars parked in parallel. The left edge and the back left corner are lined with trees that form a visual border to whatever is beyond the lot, whereas the right side is relatively open. A really simple lot once again, but I'm still halfways pleased. If you leave both in your plugins, the quadrupler version will most probably override the default version. The default version of the building will provide 45 I-HT jobs, the quadrupler version 180 I-HT jobs. The following lots are included in this download: 4x5, Stage 2 5x4, Stage 2 For those of you who like to play with day and night view, the building used on this lot is compatible with the following night light mode(s): Maxis Night with gradual day/night cycle: YES Maxis Night with static day or night: YES DarkNite* with static day or night: YES *DarkNite requires SimFox' Day and Nite Modd (or a similar darkening mod) to be installed in your plugins. 2 - USE If you extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should create a folder IRM\IRM Expansion\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. KOSC Presents: Industrial Revolution Mod - Logistic Filler Set 1 Introduction This is a set of ploppable filler lots for dirty, manufacturing, and hi-tech industry which are designed to add some logistic support to your industrial areas. The set was designed with IRM in mind and as such, utilizes matching bases and walls from that of the original releases. Package Overview This package contains a set of 15 filler lots: 5 for dirty, manufacturing and hi-tech industrial areas. All the lots have props that are highly randomized. Parked trailers and semi cabs will show up in many different sizes and forms and sometimes not even at all. Lot stats are designed to match the original IRM fillers as closely as possible. This includes positioning indicators to help you align the lots with respect to other things around it. Every lot is nearly neutral, with negligible amounts of pollution, no power/water consumption and are maintenance free. All lots are $5 to bulldoze and are extremely cheap to plop ($5 for I-D, $6 for I-M, $7 for I-HT). The lots are located in the landmarks menu and clumped together with the original filler sets. Install Instructions Drop the files in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. Dependencies Use with the Industrial Revolution Mod and the associated filler sets is highly recommended. If you have the dependencies for those sets, you only need the following. IdM - Trucking Essentials HD North American 40ft Semi Trailers Vol. 1 HD North American 53ft Semi Trailers Vol. 1 HD North American Semi Truck Cabs Vol. 1 BSC MEGA Props Misc Vol. 2 Standalone users will also need the following. Props BSC MEGA Props SG Vol. 1 BSC MEGA Props CP Vol. 1 BSC MEGA Props Jestarr Vol. 1 BSC MEGA Props Jestarr Vol. 2 SFBT Essentials Textures Railyard and Spur Textures, Mega Pack 1.02 Credit goes to T Wrecks for the original Industrial Revolution Mod, which served as a template for the lot design of this set, and MushyMushy for the trucks which were the driving forces behind the conception of this set. Enjoy!

Here are four Old Time Power Plants using jestarr's various small Boilerhouse models. Thanks to jestarr for the great props. All capacity/plop/monthly costs are balanced to the standard Maxis coal power plant's numbers. These lots feature smoke effects and normal levels of pollution. The diagonal Boilerhouse Type A lot and the Owosso lot have concrete base textures from NCD Railyard Textures pack, matching @T Wrecks' Industrial Revolution Mod I-D fillers. Other lots have grass or dirt base textures. The Owosso Boilerhouse has an overhanging portion: depending on neighboring lots, the basement access stairs will be hidden in a W2W setting, or show on pavement with IRM fillers. 5. Hey, Just found the Industrial Revolution Mod. It looks awesome! However in the description they hint that it is a much more involved install than the other mods that you just paste things into plugins. Does anyone have anymore info about this? Im pretty new to adding the mods and don't want to ruin the install.

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD Semi-Intelligent Components by GreatDane 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW The IRM high-tech uploads continue... The fourth upload in this series is another very old BAT and probably not the most famous (and certainly not the best) work done by this author, yet still too good to leave out - it's: Semi-Intelligent Components by prepo. There's not much to be said about the lots this time, other than that they're probably not my best work, either. I still hope they'll do. If you leave both in your plugins, the quadrupler version will most probably override the default version. The default version of the building will provide 26 I-HT jobs, the quadrupler version 104 I-HT jobs. The following lots are included in this download: 2x4, Stage 1 3x3, Stage 1 For those of you who like to play with day and night view, the building used on this lot is compatible with the following night light mode(s): Maxis Night with gradual day/night cycle: YES Maxis Night with static day or night: YES DarkNite* with static day or night: YES *DarkNite requires SimFox' Day and Nite Modd (or a similar darkening mod) to be installed in your plugins. 2 - USE If you extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should create a folder IRM\IRM Expansion\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD SkyLimit Satellite Research by GreatDane 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW OK, time for more IRM stuff. I'm still doing high-tech industry, and from there will work my way "down the ranks", through modern manufacturing and generic manufacturing back to brick factories with old-style manufacturing and, finally, dirty industry. The third upload in this series is a somewhat obscure BAT, I guess - it's 13 years old, and the author is by no means as well known as the likes of SimGoober and others. However, I still think it's one of those underestimated little BATs that withstood the test of time comparably well: SkyLimit Satellite Research by GreatDane. The lot is pretty simple and straight forward; I merely tried to align the building with the lot textures (which worked quite well), added one of gascooker's smokestacks to break the blocky appearance a bit, and made rather extensive use of CycleDogg's excellent shaded props.. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD SFBT H2O Chemistry by Mathe Man 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW It took me a while until I found the time and energy to resume uploading, but here we go with more IRM stuff. I'm still doing high-tech industry, and from there will work my way "down the ranks", through modern manufacturing and generic manufacturing back to brick factories with old-style manufacturing and, finally, dirty industry. The second upload in this series is another small and rather old BAT, but yet again quite unique: SFBT's H2O Chemistry modeled by Mathe Man. You might already have noticed that the building resembles the model of a water (H2O) molecule in shape and colour. If you look closely, there's even a little corporate sculpture in the same shape in front of the main entrance. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD SFBT High Enthalpy Wind Tunnel by Mathe Man 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW After wall-to-wall (W2W) industry has been catered for, it's time to take care of regular industry. This time around, I'll begin with high-tech industry, and from there will work my way "down the ranks", through modern manufacturing and generic manufacturing back to brick factories with old-style manufacturing and, finally, dirty industry. With this series (it will be long!) I hope to bring some more variety to your industrial areas, and I hope I can also drag some old and not so common BATs back into the spotlight this way. For this first upload, I have picked a small and rather old BAT, but a pretty unique one: SFBT's High Enthalpy Wind Tunnel modeled by Mathe Man. Although small, I think the building is nice because you can get a glimpse of what's inside, and it's rather unusual in shape as well. The default version of the building will provide 20 I-HT jobs, the quadrupler version 80 I-HT jobs. The following lots are included in this download: 3x3, Stage 1 4x2, Stage 1 For those of you who like to play with day and night view, the building used on this lot is compatible with the following night light mode(s): Maxis Night with gradual day/night cycle: YES Maxis Night with static day or night: YES DarkNite* with static day or night: YES *DarkNite requires SimFox' Day and Nite Modd (or a similar darkening mod) to be installed in your plugins. 10. IRM Expansion Blocker v1.0

    Version 1.0.0

    43 Downloads

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD Expansion Blocker 1 - INTRODUCTION / OVERVIEW If you use the IRM Base Pack and some IRM W2W stuff, you probably have the blockers you need to switch back and forth between regular IRM and wall-to-wall industry. What about new regular (non-W2W) uploads, though? This little blocker file ensures that you will also be able to block future IRM (non-W2W) lots. This current version 1.0 supports all of the upcoming IRM industry files that I am about to upload shortly. If you don't use IRM W2W anyway, this file is irrelevant for you. It is only needed to make a complete switch between W2W and non-W2W for those who would like to use both. Future IRM uploads will have a link to this blocker file, and as soon as you need a new version, I will inform you in the download description. This shouldn't be so soon, however, since I have a nice stash of uploads up my sleeve (little hint: it's no longer a two-digit figure!). By the way, the screenshot doubles as a little teaser and shows a teeny-tiny fraction of what's in the release queue. 2 - USE Simply add this to your plugins folder if you play with the upcoming IRM custom lots, but want to have the option of switching back to IRM W2W lots by blocking all non-W2W stuff. When you want non-W2W IRM lots to grow again, simply move this little DAT file out of your plugins again. When this file is updated to a more recent version, simply overwrite the existing file with the new version. This blocker will grow and encompass more and more custom lots. It should exist only once in your plugins folder. You will see in the description (and in the HTML readme) of upcoming (non-W2W) IRM downloads which version of this file you'll need so you know when to check for an update. The file should extract to the path IRM\z_IRM Lot Blockers, so you can extract it to your root plugins folder. If you have the IRM Base pack installed (and you should if this blocker is to make any sense), then this folder should exist already. 3 - DEPENDENCIES Since this file is just a blocker and doesn't add any new content to your game, it doesn't really require dependencies. However, it is designed to be used with regular IRM and IRM W2W stuff. You can find the IRM (and read more about it) here. The IRM W2W Base Pack can be found here. For more individual IRM content, just use the "Find their other files" option right on this screen - or click the link in this line. You will find links to optional complementary downloads in the descriptions of the IRM and the IRM W2W Base pack. 4 - FINAL WORDS Thanks for your continued support and for all the positive input concerning my little IRM endeavour - I'll do my very best to reward your patience with a healthy dose of IRM content during the upcoming weeks and months. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY NYBT ABBT Studebaker Building by SimHoTToDDy 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW This huge, iconic factory building from ye goode old times™ marks the 15th and final upload in the third series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists. Once again, I didn't have too much work with this one because the high-quality 3dsmax BATs by the Manhattanville Team were designed to be W2W in the first place, and Studebaker Building was certainly no exception. Besides, the lot didn't leave much space to work with in the first place. I merely tweaked a few stats, assigned the zones, added a few lot options, and a prop here and there. The building will provide 488 I-M jobs for your Sims and, as the screenshots show, will look great among mid-rise development. The lots can be used to form an interesting end cap to a 4-tiles deep W2W block, closing it off to three sides and with two 2-tile deep rows of W2W buildings back-to-back on the last side. As the screenshot shows, there is not much lot design to speak of; the building sits snugly on the lot. As usual, here's the lots breakdown: 4x4 left cap, Stage 2 4x4 right cap, Stage 2 In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Since you cannot zone large coherent areas with W2W industrial and the lots can be complemented with fillers, the resulting job density will, in fact, be not that excessive. For the same reason, growth stages for IRM W2W are generally kept low. 2 - USE If you extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should create a folder IRM\IRM W2W Expansion\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. 3 - DEPENDENCIES IRM W2W Base Pack Since this is an extension to the IRM, all the dependencies of the original IRM base pack still apply. In addition to this, you'll need the original upload of the BAT to see the building: NYBT ABBT The Studebaker Building. Only the .sc4model files are required. If you want to have the option of blocking the enclosed lots from growing temporarily, for example when you want to go back to regular (i.e., non-W2W) IRM industry for a while, you can use the IRM W2W Expansion Blocker v 3.0 (or higher) from November 22, 2016 (or later). A big shout out to all you guys who went with me on this IRM W2W journey, followed, liked, and downloaded my stuff - it is much appreciated. I know wall-to-wall industry is pretty niche, so this will be the last upload of this category for quite a while. On a more cheerful note, you can brace yourselves for a huge number of good old regular (non-W2W) industry. T Wrecks, June 4, 2017

KOSC Presents: IndustryMania: Simgoober's Costco Distribution Center Introduction Costco Distribution Center is the 2nd release of my IndustryMania series. This is a set of re-lots and expansions for Simgoober's Costco Distribution Center. Package Overview These lots were designed for accommodating logistics and freight in which the original could not. The lot sizes have been expanded overall so there's more rooms for worker parking as well as freight to move around. Additionally, there is a new super distribution center that essentially doubles the available warehouse space in an attempt to emulate the massive, massive distribution centers in real life. These gigantic lots boasts expansive spaces for trucks to move about, as well as a plethora of stalls for trucks and cargo alike. Included in the following package is a set of custom base textures and 5 growable I-M lots: 3 for the super variant and 2 for the regular. There are IRM friendly versions for each of the centers. If you desire to plop the lots, use the buildingPlop cheat and look for the exemplar "KOSC_SG_CostcoDist_Super" for the super version, and "SG_CostcoDistribution_Grow" for the regular. (requires ExtraCheats.dll) General Stats The brand new Super Distribution Center lots will provide 750 I-M jobs. They are available in the following configuration: 15x12, 16x9, stage 1 7x10, stage 2 Additionally, there are two re-lots of the original (which are also based off the original descriptor). 7x6, stage 2 8x9, stage 1 Detailed stats and information can be found in the enclosed README. Install Instructions Drop the files in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. Dependencies This one is a bit of a doozy when it comes to dependencies! The good news is that if you have the IRM, most of the prop packs should be accounted for. Main Building(s) You will only need one of the following versions for the lot to work. For this upload, I turned Empire Leather Works by jestarr into an entire family of no fewer than 10 lots - from a single compact W2W factory to large complexes with multiple buildings.. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY Manhattanville Pack 3 by NYBT ABBT 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW After another hiatus, I finally gave myself a push and got around to uploading this one. It marks the 14th upload in the third (and probably final) series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time a mix of dirty and manufacturing industry. Once again, I didn't have too much work with this one because the high-quality 3dsmax BATs in this pack, Manhattanville Pack 3 by NYBT / ABBT were designed to be W2W in the first place. I merely tweaked a few stats, assigned the zones, added a few lot options, and a prop here and there. The buildings will provide 36 to 140 I-M jobs for your Sims (for details, see lot breakdown below). Most of them will look best among low-rise development; 641 West 131th Street can even be used to "cross" a 4-tiles deep W2W block because it is long enough to face both the street in front and the one in the back. As the screenshot shows, there is not much lot design to speak of; the buildings mostly sit snugly on the lot with blank walls to all sides not facing a street/road. As usual, here's the list of lots included: 603 West 130th Street (108 I-M jobs): 2x2 straight, Stage 1 641 West 130th Street (140 I-M jobs): 2x4 straight, Stage 1 (2 versions) 524 West 131st Street (112 I-M jobs): 2x2 straight, Stage 1 624 West 131st Street (100 I-M jobs): 2x2 straight, Stage 1 630 West 131st Street (72 I-M jobs): 1x2 straight, Stage 1 3247 Broadway (136 I-M jobs): 2x2 left corner, Stage 1 2x2 right corner, Stage 1 3251 Broadway (128 I-M jobs): 3x2 left corner, Stage 1 2x3 right cap, Stage 1 In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY Manhattanville Pack 2 by NYBT ABBT 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW After another hiatus, I finally gave myself a push and got around to uploading this one. It marks the 13th upload in the third (and probably final) series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time a mix of dirty and manufacturing industry. Once again, I didn't have too much work with this one because the high-quality 3dsmax BATs in this pack, Manhattanville Pack 2 by NYBT / ABBT were designed to be W2W in the first place. I merely tweaked a few stats, assigned the zones, added a few lot options, and a prop here and there. The buildings will provide 72 to 260 I-M jobs for your Sims (for details, see lot breakdown below). Most of them will look best among low-rise development; 609 West 131st Street can even be used to "cross" a 4-tiles deep W2W block because it is long enough to face both the street in front and the one in the back. 3259 Broadway is a bit of the exception here: It is much bigger, will look great in a mid-rise environment (see demo screenshot) and can be used as a kind of "end cap" for a 4-tiles deep W2W block, i.e. it will face all three street sides - front, back, and left/right - and sit neatly wall-to-wall with everything around it. As the screenshot shows, there is not much lot design to speak of; the buildings mostly sit snugly on the lot with blank walls to all sides not facing a street/road. For the same reason, growth stages for IRM W2W are generally kept low. 2 - USE If you extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should create a folder IRM\IRM W2W Expansion\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. 3 - DEPENDENCIES IRM W2W Base Pack Since this is an extension to the IRM, all the dependencies of the original IRM base pack still apply. In addition to this, you'll need the original upload of the BAT to see the building: NYBT ABBT Manhattanville Project (1st Pack). Only the .sc4model files are required, plus a descriptor file for a prop - if you don't keep the following file, the little side building on 2307 JDM Highway will not show up: NYBT ABBT 2301 JDM Hgwy-0x6534284a-0xdc5ed037-0x5c8398fa.SC4Desc If you want to have the option of blocking the enclosed lots from growing temporarily, for example when you want to go back to regular (i.e., non-W2W) IRM industry for a while, you can use the IRM W2W Expansion Blocker v 3.0 (or higher) from November 22, 2016 (or later). INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY E-Z Polish Factory by jestarr 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW This is the 19th upload in a second series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time manufacturing industry. For this upload, E-Z Polish Factory by jestarr, we return to regular single-building lots. The specialty this time is that the lot is visually transit-enabled. This means that it will connect to the road in front (see screenshot No.4) and you will see cars enter and leave the lot, but it doesn't have any actual transit switch function. Since the building is pretty tall, it probably looks best in combination with mid-rise apartment blocks such as the ones by NYBT's Aaron Graham, some creations by marcszar and TagOne, and the old (but still very good!) gmax BATs by Don Miguel - all of which I can only recommend to anyone who's into that style, by the way. The lots will provide 360 I-M jobs. Here's the lot breakdown: 5x4 straight, stage 2 (2 versions with alley on left/right side) In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Since you cannot zone large coherent areas with W2W industrial and the lots can be complemented with fillers, the resulting job density will, in fact, be not that excessive. In addition to this, you'll need the original upload of the BAT to see the building:: The E-Z Polish Factory (v1.0). It doesn't only contain the train cars etc. you can see in the screenshot, but also all the required building models. If you want to have the option of blocking the enclosed lots from growing temporarily, for example when you want to go back to regular (i.e., non-W2W) IRM industry for a while, you can use the IRM W2W Expansion Blocker v 1.0 (or higher) from January 23, 2015 (or later). INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD (IRM) Base Pack - Maxis Lots 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW What is this mod? The Industrial Revolution Mod (IRM in short) is designed to make playing with industrial lots much more enjoyable. It addresses some of the most annoying shortcomings of Maxis' industrial lots: The lots themselves look boring and repetitive The resulting industrial areas look cluttered and unrealistic Everything mixes wildly - modern and old, high-tech and heavy industry There is no real control - a dirty industry lot might grow right in the middle of a high-tech area and cause the high-tech facilities to dilapidate with its pollution If at least one of these points has always bothered you, then this mod might be something for you. What does this mod offer me? Imagine building a city where... ...industrial areas actually look interesting and vivid ...you can zone for areas filled with old brick factories and smokestacks - or clean, modern facilities ...industry is no longer a necessary evil, but becomes an integral part of your city and adds to its flair Does this sound like a deal? If so, then read on! And make sure you READ THOROUGHLY, because this mod is not recommended for beginners. It is important that you know what you do. There is more in the works, and this is not a mod where you can click "install" and "continue" a few times, and you're set. You should be clear about the way plugins work, and you should feel comfortable with manual file handling. You should know your way around your plugins folder and be able to find things you are looking for. How does the mod work? How does it achieve the changes mentioned above? APPEARANCE The altered appearance of all in-game industry is achieved by a simple remake of all roughly 250 Maxis lots, which have been completely overhauled and spiced up with custom textures, props, and lighting. These new lots will override their Maxis counterparts and make your industrial zones much more interesting to look at! GAMEPLAY Better control and a clear separation between "dirty" and "clean" industry becomes possible through a new zoning logic. Originally, medium-density industrial zones were intended for smaller industrial buildings, whereas high-density zones used to be reserved for bigger facilities. The downside to this was that all types of industry could grow wildly mixed. As a consequence, industrial areas often looked cluttered, and it was nearly impossible to keep "dirty" and "clean" industries from interfering with each other. With this mod in place, the cheaper medium-density zones will be used for I-D (Dirty Industry), which will help you when starting a city. Finally, you will be able to grow large facilities and employ many Sims in your starter towns with low education level without having to fork out precious funds for those expensive dense industrial zones. In contrast, I-HT (High-Tech Industry) will only be able to grow on dense industrial zones. This is in line with the way the game progresses: The better your Sims are educated, the further your city has progressed. Later in game, when your Sims are smart enough to work in I-HT jobs, you will probably have made enough money to afford the more expensive dense industrial zones. And isn't it only logical that laying out plots of land for those picky, demanding high-tech facilities will cost you more than reserving some land for a primitive old factory that will pollute its surroundings anyway? Now what about the third category, I-M (Manufacturing Industry)? There is no free zone type left, so it was not possible to assign I-M to its own zone. This is not really problematic, though, because Manufacturing Industry has a big advantage: On the one hand, it is robust and forgiving enough to grow next to Dirty Industry without dilapidating or getting abandoned. On the other hand, I-M buildings themselves do not pollute their surroundings too heavily, allowing High-Tech Industry to grow right next door without serious problems. So in short, I-M mixes well with both other types of industry. This is why it is distributed over the different zones according to its looks: Old-fashioned I-M brick factories will be restricted to medium density, where they will mix well with any I-D buildings. Modern-looking I-M facilities will be restricted to high density and will integrate seamlessly into any high-tech area. Generic, nondescript structures will be able to grow on zones of both densities. 2 - THE TECH STUFF What does the download contain? This package contains a set of 250 lots and one invisible dummy building that I used for some lots where I split building families. (If the last part of the foregoing sentence doesn't make sense to you, don't worry: simply keep that dummy model file, and everything will be fine.) Can I simply add this mod to a pre-existing city/region? Yes and no. It is possible with some drawbacks, but it is not recommended. The reason for this is that I changed lot sizes. When you add this mod "on the fly" (i.e., when you already have industrial areas), the lots will suddenly extend over adjacent tiles (transport networks, empty terrain, other lots), and the industrial area will look all chaotic and garbled. You will have to bulldoze it and rebuild it anyway. After bulldozing, some tiles will refuse to disappear. You can simply zone over these tiles and de-zone again, this will make them disappear. If you do add this mod and intend to continue playing with your existing industrial areas, I strongly recommend backing up your region before. How to install this mod? Simply unzip the IRM folder and copy it into your plugins folder (or into a sub-folder of your plugins folder). I recommend keeping the folder structure inside the IRM folder. What if I want to de-install this mod? It's pretty much the same as with any other download: Delete all lots pertaining to this mod (in this case, all industrial lots that are based on Maxis buildings!) Save all the cities and exit the game when you're done bulldozing Remove the IRM folder from your plugins Hint: Just to be sure, I recommend moving the IRM folder somewhere else and doing some checks before you delete it permanently. This way, if it turns out you forgot to bulldoze something, you can add it back in temporarily until you're done. Is this mod compatible with the Industrial Jobs Quadrupler by Toroca? Absolutely. I would even recommend using the quadrupler because I enlarged most of the lots to make them look more realistic. Hence, industry will consume a bit more space than it used to. Considering that Maxis gave industrial facilities few jobs to begin with, the Industry Quadrupler is a good compensation. It will allow you to sustain your population without covering endless areas in industry, even with the larger lots. Is this mod compatible with the Colossus Addon Mod (CAM)? No. The CAM contains copies of all Maxis lots that have been assigned to different stages and given a different IID. That's why the IRM lots cannot override the CAM lots. 3 - DEPENDENCIES ...don't we all love them? Of course, it would have been impossible to re-design all these lots so radically without custom props and textures - loads of them, in fact. I still tried to keep dependencies at a reasonable level and use packages that are rather commonplace for any custom content user, especially for players with an interest in industry. Remember that the following dependencies were used for 250 lots (and will stay the same for upcoming stuff!). I have seen single lots with more dependencies, just saying... PROPS BSC Mega Props Jestarr Vol.01 - an old classic; most of you will have this one. BSC Mega Props Jestarr Vol.02 - industrial fans will probably have this. BSC Mega Props Jestarr Vol.03 - industrial fans will probably have this. BSC Mega Props Jestarr Vol.05 - industrial fans will probably have this. BSC Mega Props DAE Vol.01 - yet another old classic. BSC Mega Props CP Vol.01 - Cycledogg's first pack, also a classic. TEXTURES BSC Mega Textures Vol.01 - the most widely spread texture pack of them all. BSC Mega Textures Vol.02 - not too exotic, eh? BSC Mega Textures Vol.03 - another rather common one. Rail Yard and Spur Textures Mega-Pak 1 Version 1.02 - ncd's superb textures - especially the rail nuts among you will have this. OPTIONAL I added lamps with custom light cones that will improve the lighting of the lots at night. The lots will look perfectly ok without these light cones, but if you want them, you will have to download this pack: PEG MTP Super Pack 4 - FINAL WORDS I've been working on this mod and off with long breaks, motivation was a serious issue. Making a lot is nice. Making two lots is okay. Making 250 lots is a serious pain in lower body regions; it's not even funny. In total, it took me nearly two years to piece all this together, test it, write the documentation, make screenshots, and all that. For the most part, it was by far more boring and painful grunt work than a pleasant creative task. So much time has passed that by now I'm already dissatisfied with several of the lots. It's about time I released this so I have it off my plate. I'm exhausted, fed up with it, glad it's done with. I hope you guys will like it although it's far from perfect. At least I hope it will be an improvement over the Maxis lots. I have some more nearly finished stuff in store that will be released soon, most notably two IRM addon packs with another ~80 lots in total, plus some filler sets further down the road. These should enable you to take even more control over your industrial areas and make halfways realistic-looking facilities. So make sure you watch the STEX! The next logical step would be to re-lot some popular industrial BATs for seamless integration into this mod, but we'll see how that goes. I would like to thank all the fine people who made the tools, the props, and the textures that I used, as well as the entire SC4 crowd for keeping this game alive, and for having me around. Should you want to share and/or modify this, be my guest - just try not to be a jerk and give credit where credit is due. In case of doubt, just drop me a line via PM here on Simtropolis. Finally, for those annoying people who keep saying things like "Duh, the Lot Editor simply won't cut it these days, you need to make your own BAT" in STEX comments, I have a little dedication, too. So I'm looking to make some IRM compatible commercial relots. What are the texture hex codes and the exact name of the props used for the various walls in the IRM filler set? @T Wrecks I feel like you'd be good at answering this.

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY BSP Advance Glove Factory by nofunk 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW After a longer hiatus due to the site update, this is the seventh upload in a second series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time manufacturing industry. For my return to the STEX after the hiatus, I've decided to dig out a very old, but nonetheless very high-quality BAT: BSP Advance Glove Factory by nofunk. The building will provide 112 I-M jobs and comes with the following lots: 2x3 left corner, Stage 1 2x2 right corner, Stage 1 In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Well finally I got the time and put together this little set of diagonal IRM walls expansion. Altogether this pack contains 15 new lots based on @T Wrecks' IRM Fillers (I-D, I-M, I-HT), each set gets 5 new pieces (2 full concrate - one with grass props, one without them -, 2 sidewalk-concrete - same variation like concrete version - and a dirt-concrete). Same stats as the original IRM Fillers. They can work without the original set, but strongly recomended using with them. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY Todd's Packaging Plant by Vlasky 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW This is the eleventh upload in the third (and probably final) series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time a mix of dirty and manufacturing industry. My little comeback after a hiatus is a relatively recent and high-quality 3dsmax BAT, Todd's Packaging Plant by Vlasky. The building will provide 240 I-M jobs for your Sims. Since it is basically a single-storey building, it will look best among low-rise development. As the screenshots show, this time there is not much lot design to speak of; the building sits snugly on the lot and can be complemented with mech and anchor type lots growing behind it, or, of course, the ploppable IRM fillers (link see below). As usual, here's the list of lots included: 6x2 left corner, Stage 1 2x6 right corner, Stage 1 In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY Owosso Beet Sugar Factory by jestarr 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW This is the tenth upload in the third (and probably final) series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time a mix of dirty and manufacturing industry. For the tenth upload, I chose a somewhat complex building, Owosso Beet Sugar Factory by jestarr. The building will provide 1400 I-D jobs for your Sims. It's another one that looks good next to mid-rise development, and a special lot in several ways. One reason is that it's not so much a single building, but rather an industrial complex made up of various models. Another specialty is that this opened up some liberties when it came to the lot design. Most IRM W2W lots are rather generic and lackluster because their main purpose is to squeeze the building into a W2W gap as snugly as possible. This time, there were many open spaces and combinations that I could play with. I also ended up network-enabling the lot so that the access roads visually connect to adjacent roads/streets. The building doesn't work as a transit switch in any way; the effect is merely visual. Please note that network-enabled BATs cannot be overgrown by the simulator automatically. This means you'll have to bulldoze manually. I reckon this wouldn't be much of a problem as the lot size is rather unusual and you probably won't see it very often anyway, so there's little risk it will grow out of control. As usual, here's the list of lots included: 5x11 left corner, Stage 3 5x11 right corner, Stage 3 In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Since you cannot zone large coherent areas with W2W industrial and the lots can be complemented with fillers, the resulting job density will, in fact, be not that excessive. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY Schwartz Chemical Company by jestarr 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW This is the ninth upload in the third (and probably final) series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time a mix of dirty and manufacturing industry. Yet another big building, this is Schwartz Chemical Company by jestarr. The building will provide 1280 I-D jobs for your Sims. Due to its height it would dwarf low-rise development around it. Therefore, I think it looks best in mid-rise areas. The lots included feature this factory as the corner building for a W2W block. The front sits flush with the adjacent buildings, the side ends with a few metres space to the edge of the lot. If you use more W2W buildings there (as shown in the example screenshots), you'll end up with an alley that can serve as access to whatever is inside the block. Otherwise, you could use the building as an interface between a row of residential/commercial lining a roadside and some industry in the back. Anyway, here's the lot breakdown: 4x6 left corner, Stage 3 4x6 right corner, Stage 3 In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Since you cannot zone large coherent areas with W2W industrial and the lots can be complemented with fillers, the resulting job density will, in fact, be not that excessive. In addition to this, you'll need the original upload of the BAT to see the building: The Schwartz Chemical Company (v1.0). Only the .sc4model file is required. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD - WALL-TO-WALL INDUSTRY Tage Brickworks by Tag_One 1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW This is the eighth upload in the third (and probably final) series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time a mix of dirty and manufacturing industry. This massive building is another dirty industry BAT, Tage Brickworks by Tag_One. The building will provide a whopping 1400 I-D jobs. Since it is so huge, you can use it for mid-rise areas just fine - it might be one of those huge factories that ended up in the city as the city grew. Due to its shape, it is lotted as a building that can form an "end cap" for a 6 tiles deep city block with W2W buildings both in front and in the back. Here's the lot breakdown: 6x6 left cap, Stage 3 6x6 right cap, Stage 3 (2 versions) In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Within that folder, you will find all the game-relevant files and a sub-folder containing the HTML readme and some screenshot(s).
