Lukla
Fasten your seatbelt, we approach the most dangerous airport in the world: The Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. It is located in Nepal in a height of 2.860 m above sealevel and is the usual start of every track to the mount everest and half a hour flight from Kathmandu and the only way up there is by plane or helicopter if you dont want to walk. (i only guess you can walk, but im not 100% sure) What makes this airport that dangerous? So, the runway is not on a even surface, it drops down in a 10% angle and is only 457 m long. As this would not be dangerous enuff, the runway ends at a 600m deep cliff on the one side and on the topside it ends at the mountains face and gives no possibility to start off again if the pilot misses his approach. On top is the very thin air at 2.860 height and the weather on the roof of the world. So, enuff data for now, get ready for landing!! at 2:40 you can see the "tower" i think my solution fits quite well And here is the rest: here is the runway with the steep end. i placed some cows on the runway, actually people use the runway as a shortcut, a sireen gives a signal for approaching planes. This is just a small and quick update after i had some struggles bout sc4 stability lately and i did it after i just solved them and watched a documentation bout airports. Of course it is not 100% accurate to reality but i did my best to catch the look of the original airport. Allthough its part of the region im developeing i posted it into this journal because i feel like it might be a bit offtopic and points on a real location. Still, i hope you enjoy and of course, thanks for takeing the time to look into it. Lance credits go to peg, paeng, uki, somy, Hide & Seek, Ac team, SCAG team and simtropolis,.... ah and to loliuyau for uploading that video. i think thats it for today, if i forgot someone pm me - 4

MITHLONDON TIMES Mayor's plan for major infrastructure project leaked An anonymous source working in Mithlondon's City Hall leaked plans for an yet unannounced infrastructure project. According to our source the city government plans to convert the city center radically by building a train station and an Expocenter. It's already clear that a lot of residential buildings will fall victim to it, thus further tightening Mithlondon's housing shortage. The news of the new train station spread like wildfire through the city and protesters gathered in front of City Hall. We couldn't reach the mayor for a statement and were told by his office that he left earlier to watch the upcoming rocket launch live at the space center. Heribert Flackl (§, educated shopper), living close to the city hall, has another theory why the Mayor left: "He is a coward. As soon as the first stone was thrown, he escaped by helicopter." Successful rocket launch overshadowed by violent protest Mithlondon's Space Agency surprised the regional community Wednesday by launching a long-range rocket that put an alleged educational satellite in orbit. A spokesperson of the Space Center said the rocket had successfully blasted off and claimed the satellite it was carrying had entered its intended orbit. The launch followed a botched attempt in April. Prior to the launch of the rocket protesters gathered in front of Mithlondon's City Hall, they fear that the rocket might damage the pillars of the sky. Lucy Wackl ($$$, slightly educated worker) an organizer of the protest said: "It's totally irresponsible. What happens when the sky falls on us?" The peaceful protest turned violent as people protesting against the new train station entered City Hall Square and started to throw rocks and bottles. The police used tear gas, twelve people were injured, twenty arrested.- Read More

Grover Ridge [Update]
Hello Simtropolis Members: Whew, yesterday was just my birthday. To commemorate my 14th year alive, I decided to build Grover Ridge. Grover Ridge was named after the president, Grover Cleveland. The city is a bustling suburb with the 2nd tallest skyline (2nd to Republic City). This city is a producer of computer chips for the entire region. Something special is that for the first time, the city intergrates farming, commercial offices, and skyscrapers together in one place. Near the beginning of the city's history, it started off as a small suburb. Eventually, the population spiked when high-quality healthcare and education was offered. A typical Sim's day in the city... 1.) Wake up at around 6 Am in the morning. 2.) Eat a breakfast of likely bacon from the neighbor city, Grover , which is a large farming community. 3.) Get in the car and drive to the financial district. 4.) Walk in at around 9Am 5.) Walk out of the store, enterprise at around 6PM. 6.) Buy a quick meal at a burger joint just around the corner. Go shopping at the Target Store if he has time. 7.) Return Home at around 10PM 8.) Go to sleep... Here are some photos... The city's financial district. The graveyard was left untouched, but the construction contractors tended to love the area around the graves for some reason. Maybe it is because of the tranquility of the resting place of the passed... The City Overview The City at night - 12

Introduction to Fairview 2.0
Hello everyone. You might be wondering what is this Fairview 2.0, is it another guy showing off his Maxis Fairview region? Is he trying to get attention because he built a metropolis on this small region? Why is it 2.0 in first place? All those questions will be answered below, so don't get worked up because you see a wall of text and PLEASE read the mother-loving thing, before making assumptions. What is Fairview 2.0? Fairview 2.0 is a small project of mine that I kicked off in SimCity 4 out of boredom with the Lot Editor and a general lack of inspiration to continue on my other CJ, SimLand. This is a much more focused and localized city journal than it, too, given that Fairview is a small region. What do you wish to make of this? First, I want to make something that looks pleasing and decently-realistic, which means that I will pay good attention to detail and play around with custom lots and MMPs, but also I want it to be fun for me to create, so I will make as much growable content as possible and make sure all my cities are in the black. I also plan to make the entries run in some kind real-time fashion, and, according to the real life date, that's going to affect some of the things you will see on it, like, for example the seasons, that will change with the corresponding one for the northern hemisphere at the time of the update. Finally, I want to give my CJ, a very American style. SimCity 4 was created with this particular building style in mind, and so, roads are prominent in Fairview 2.0. Yes, I am going to also have other transportation forms, like rails and ferries, but the focus is on road networks. Are you scrapping SimLand, your other CJ? I am not scrapping SimLand, this is a get-away CJ, something for fresh for me, and it will NOT be updated frequently, given that it updates in real-time, every now and then you will see this CJ popping around here. SimLand is still going to be my main focus for a long time, because it can always give me variety to work with, whereas the concept in Fairview 2.0 is not much flexible. Why the 2.0 thingy? Because I copied the Fairview region from my Regions folder and edited the config name to Fairview 2, so it didn't conflict with the original, and since my original Fairview is still pristine, then I can start from scratch and build as I please. OK, now that I read the whole thing, is there something for me? Well, you can enjoy a little teaser image, if you please. The first full entry will come when I solve my dependencies problems. (I hate that the LEX is down right now, otherwise I would get them solved right now) Here you go. See you later! -

Entry 1: Stone Mountain
Replies: @Forthwall: I hope I fixed the problem. @jason leo: Thanks a lot. Btw, mine name is Jason too. Welcome to the Stone Mountain Nuclear Facility. The facility provides employment to the surrounding area and electricity even further. A bit to the southeast we have the town of Deerport. A lot of residents work in the nuclear plant. Looks like its time to head home for the day. \ If you don't want to live in the grimy town, there are apartments available to just outside it. North of Deerport is the village of Pine Grove, not much goes on here. East of Pine Grove is the even smaller village of Thomson, even less goes on here. South of Thomson we have the Deerport mill. There is plenty of pine forest to go around. Back north of the Stone Mountain Nuclear Facility is a small dam made for the controlling of floods. Along the reservoir we have the Stone Mountain campsite. Not really roughing it, but oh well. A little bit of a climb up the trail takes us to the Lookout Point campsite. Campers travel up here for the fire circle every night. Time for some random shots. I just really like how this island turned out. -

3: A Brighter Day on the Island
REPLIES Schulmanator: Yes I am! Trade and mining is awfully lucrative, especially once you get a smelting factory (or 3) ggamgus: Thanks a lot, appreciate the support. SomewhereSim: Thanks. I always try to use interesting angles. I also try to hide the smaller tile size and the "ugly" bits of the city. Benedict: Thanks! I think cities are beautiful both during the day and night. I know a lot of people weren't crazy about the artistic direction of the game, but I really enjoy it. ------------------------- Another day, another ship arriving at one of the trade ports. Load 'em up, boys. Once the sun rises (and sometimes before), the coal dust starts to fly Not all the city is gross. There's a very nice district where all those really important people live. We even have a school, as you can see from the bus. Some new construction is going up in the area. It's going to be for the miners so the city can cut down on some of the commuters. Those who commute can't pay taxes! More construction...rather close to the mines. I guess a short commute is a positive. Eventually, as the factories geared up, the mines dug deeper, the layer of smog hung in the valley as always. ...I need a vacation. Maybe I'll visit another city in the area. - 3

1- From Boondock to Boomtown
Log- This place is a bit of a paradise with flowing hills, lush rain forests, and untouched wilderness literally blocks away from urban sprawl, I cannot tell you the amount of tourists that flock here during the fall. I'm seeing these kit houses being built in the thousands throughout Ridgeworth and Gallaghresville. Everyone wants a piece of land, but can the country sustain that? It seems this population increase isn't all that great though. I used to live in Liberty Heights, an old industrial city right across the river. It seems that with every nice new house constructed, a row-house is boarded up and and a piece of history fades. People are leaving this rusty city in droves. -

Hamish Plays SimCity Episode Two
Thanks to everyone who read the first update, especially to those who commented. Here's the newest episode. Replies: Hazani Pratama: Thanks for stopping by. Schulmanator: It's an interesting game when you get into it, although it does have a few faults. It should get better with time. Benedict: Yep, Harsh Realty is there, it seems to be selling the most realty in my city so far. MamaLuigi945: Yeah, Arc tool, but you first draw them straight to an intersection and delete the first blocks of road, and then draw the curve. 111222333444: Thanks! Haljackey: Seems like the server issues are minimal at best now, hope to see more from you CJ too. Mithrik: Thanks, the town is off to a great start. sHnozZa: I have fun every time I load it up, hope you get to try it soon. Sim_link: The banner was really important to me, so thank you. Ggamgus: I think its an all right game, hard to compare it to SC4 though. Osneaga: Well, this CJ should push those boundaries I hope. TFM1847: Thanks, I hope you like SimCity 2013 Dirktator: Thanks for dropping in Dirk, I hope you enjoy the next few updates I have planned. EPISODE TWO Here's where we are starting out in this episode. Nothing has changed between updates, so if you missed it, read the first episode to learn how we got where we are. As you can see, most of the space has been used, and its time to start expanding a bit. So I turned to the dirt road leading out to the power station, it was the best place to start as I can quickly upgrade the road and start building. So I quickly upgraded the road, and zoned some residential. Which quickly got bought. And people quickly started building their houses and moved in. As I looked through the commercial strip, I started to notice a few patterns. Fast food and gas stations. Steak and Cheap Gas. Hotdogs and a Garage Llama merchandise and a tyre shop? These fast food stores, and gas stations are just giving my sims the opportunity to drive around eating bad food, and with all these new people moving in, maybe I need to offer them some medical services. Before I can put in a clinic I'll need somewhere that the medical advisors for the city can work, I'll need a Town Hall. So I arranged a nice little place for it to go. It seems that the intersections are ruled by stop signs, which causes the traffic to back up quite a bit. And you can easily see that the whole road is congested, or will be, when you go into the road tool. But fixing that area was very easy, just a quick redraw of the road to medium density, and the intersection changes from all stop signs, to stop signs on just one road. And thats where we will leave it for today. The traffic issues had been dealt with, and we are slowly getting the impending medical issues under control. Hope you've been enjoying it, next update will kind of pick up the pace a bit, keep an eye out for it. - 2

The begining...
<p>This is my region Humbipog (250,247 population). Currently populated by 3 cities.</p> <p><br /> <img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhbzlWb" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhbzlWblFLX1NPYzQ" width="1000" /><br /> <br /> Coalmine (164,270 population) - This industrial giant is focused on mining and producing metal and alloy. It has a maxed out Metals HQ which looks like its own Woolworth. The town produces a ridiculous amount of alloy and metal, which sells for a ton of money from the trade port. There is also a trade HQ in the city. Coalmine, appropriately, has a couple very large coal power plants which power the whole region.</p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhSG00R" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhSG00RlZ3dVc3Vms" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhQ1NRZ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhQ1NRZXNoX0JMcTg" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhalZfZ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhalZfZkFJcnlPSHM" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhWndDQ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhWndDQUVnU0ZGSUk" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfha0FZT" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfha0FZTDltdWVRQjA" width="1000" /></p> <p><br /> Circletonia (39,792 population) - Aptly named for its many circle streets, Circletonia is the education center for the region currently. It houses two schools, one high school, one college, and a university. Students from Coalmine have to commute here since Coalmine has no schools! I am trying to start up a processor industry in Circletonia also, but I cannot get any imports of alloy from Coalmine to work.</p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhVXdWZ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhVXdWZi1wb0RpeU0" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhVXdWZ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhVXdWZi1wb0RpeU0" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhcmNBd" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhcmNBdzhHQm5STEk" width="1000" /><br /> <br /> The Cork (40,844 population) - founded to get more population for the other two cities originally, it has since developed into a minor city of its own. I have been trying to get it to develop high wealth residential, but nothing yet. Still I only have low and medium wealth in my whole region. The high wealth guys are picky! The Cork has a streetcar going around the perimeter avenue, and a cut off track through the center.</p> <p> </p> <p><img alt="uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhVFppZ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BwP1g8DU3lfhVFppZkR2eFNOX2s" width="1000" /></p> <p> </p> <p>Thanks for looking!</p> -

4th Day going green
Hi all, a bunch of new pics from my first city. Day 4: Night falls over the city. But not everybody seems to sleep, as some kids are still playing on the soccer field and... ... some students still need a lesson. After some problems with air pollution from my dirty industries I decided to give mysterious Dr. Vu and his dark companions a chance to boost high tech industries. They did not fail. As the sun rises over the city... ... new high-tech factories open all over the place. The new Solar power plant helps to reduce air pollution even further... ... and the skyline looks clear again. Finally a shot over the whole city. As I'm reaching 100k citizens and I don't want to squeeze more sims on this map, my next step will be to start a second specialized city in the region. So stay tuned for the next update. Cheers, Kai. - 5

I'm not one to spend my creative energy on triumphant city names or rich theoretical city stories. The first word that crossed my mind when I handed my god mode powers over was the name I'd give. This one got the name Crossing, not bad by my standards actually. I do however pour energy (that I can spare that is, from a little thing called life that is) into city building and will let the pictures do most of the talking........... By no means the first city I put together but it does go back a ways. What better place for picturesque walking park than straddling either side of this graceful bridge launching from a proud granite outcropping. I enjoy putting together a nice school campus complete with athletic fields.. When the map gives me the room. I can't imagine working with the new game map size. This port is running near capacity, I was surprised this small city produced so many goods. The rich always seem to find the killer spot to put down roots. End of the road, water front or green belt, nice private beach just a few steps away, just can't lose. I know there is quite a bit oh hype around the RHW and a more realistic scale to highway interchanges, some of which I think are brilliant, other still need quite a bit of work, the clover leaf it still HUGE and not anymore realistic than most of these. Anyway, I enjoy working with the native highway system, especially when I'm working with only small and medium sized tiles in this region. Commute time in the simulator can also cause issues if everything starts being 'real' scale. But I digress.... Oh look. The lights are on in the middle of the day, now that's not very green. I love how graceful the Brooklyn bridge turned out here. A normally husky stone and over redundant suspension system bridge really shines when stretched to such proportions. Waterfront parks of this grandeur and a land mark library? There must be some well to do boosters in this town. I do enjoy round abouts. Both in the game and reality. I am all too happy they are starting to catch on a bit here in the US of A The NAM and the endless flexibility it has given the roadways in this game are simply priceless. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! Ma n Pa shops and no doubt some corporate franchises huddled around an interchange? A travelers bliss. Now if only this game accounted for travelers in the traffic simulator... Oh well at least I don't need to be plugged into a server to watch my cars sim along their way. How could you not put a resort hotel in a spot like that? I've really enjoyed PEG's creations. The rivers and streams have been a great addition to the game! I do use a few 'cheats' I enjoy the economic aspects of the game but sometimes I just want to play in the sand and paint a pretty picture ala simcity. The wind generator and water well seen here are 'cheat' versions that take care of an entire city's needs. Heck they don't require you to build a sewer system for a city to function. I from time to time pushed that stretch of reality to power and water too. More PEG goodies. These boats are a tad large in scale if you ask me but then again this town does seem to have some affluent residence. That's about it, here are some over views.... Before I leave I'd just like to say that I'm saddened by what has transpired this week with the new game release. The thing is beyond a mess. Even simple towns like this one are far to complex to even remotely replicate with the new game. Not to mention all of the shall we say CLOUD issues both practical and philisophical. A nice 3D engine and a good 10 year's worth of upgrades and goodies built upon the top of this game would be amazing and I couldn't open my wallet fast enough to buy. The new game.... well I don't want to be rude or crewel, so I will just say my wallet is staying shut. You cannot meld a city into it's environment in the new game. I think these overview images here illustrate how much importance I place on that aspect of siming a city. Awe well at least we still have SC4. But man would it be fun to 3d our towns and heck even drive through them.. is it really so much to ask? OK off the soap box. As is quite evident from this first tour I don't leave many tiles un-turned as they say. I can remember really enjoying putting this map together. The terrain and location made for a slightly remote but bustelling port of entry to the metro area. I hope all enjoy and I look forward to putting together the next tour.. We will likely follow the river for a time and let it lead us into the heart of the region. - 2

Updated East End
The city of East End has been the most dynamic city in the region. What used to be farmland is now the product of suburban sprawl. I-76 cuts along the southern edge of the city. The newly renamed I-376 and remodled tunnel that cuts underneath the huge plateua of the Capilano Mountainside heads towards the northeast suburbs. The city has added a new Hospital. The Capilano Center for Cancer & health. Also talks about potential highway improvements are being studied for the I-76 corridor as traffic continues to increase with almost 30,000+ traveling back and fourth across the city. A nice city shot shows some major development along mountain Blvd that cuts through the city and merges with I-376. Mountain Blvd has major traffic issues, but due to development over time has haulted future expansion unless business owners cave and sell out and move to newer areas. Major Development just off I-376 has resulted in major traffic issues. The hensworth development was built quickly to help accomodate the rise in residential demand, Not pleasing to the eye, but useful for low income workers needing to live somewhat close to the city center. Thanks for reading!! New Updates tomorrow 3/5/13!! (Region View & updated Pittsburgh Suburbs.)- Read More

First town Using NAM 31 update... zones...
After some frustration and having to re-install NAM 31 twice I finally got it to work. And although I don't have much time now to work on the most grand of the cities in the region a practiced out on a few little towns with about 6.000 and 24,000. MAJOR props to NAM! This screen shot is the smaller town of about 6,000, the drag-able angled roads wrap perfectly around the river and other terrain. A few new bridges, along with the ability to make triangular blocks now! Below is the larger town of about 24,000. The Textures for the urban zoning around the angled roads match perfectly with the city and buildings now. That;s all for now! - 6

(Update 4) Candar, City on the Edge of Decay
The Commonwealth of Traebia Update 4 - Candar, City on the Edge of Decay Welcome to Candar, Simtropolis! We are in 1961 and the federal elections are behind us now, and every candidate promised endless growth and wealth upon Seahaven and its coastal communities. As the nearby states of Winhill have fallen in a civil war, refugees begin to emigrate north, to Traebia. Every single community has grown by at least 3'000 inhabitants in the state. Every community? Well, it's not quite true. Candar City is a frontier town of the Commonwealth, more than 50 km away from Seahaven. It used to be the second biggest town, in fact, and based almost all of its economy on fluvial and sea trade...but the great Seahaven has become bigger and now overshadows the harbour in Candar. Despite a new railroad connecting Candar to the rest of the world, the fragile trade dwindles and the city peacefully, but surely begins to decay... Replies Jamonbread, TayMay27 - I've previously replied, but I hope the current slopes will look much better. Even though it's harder to build. Moriadne - I hope no trees have grown in baseball fields since I took my screenshots, even though Candar is in decay. JGellock, SimCoug, Forthwall - Thank you I've installed the Ennedi Slope Mod, which works fine, but takes a lot of getting used to. You'll see in Updates 5 and 6, the RHW was a pain to develop (and with NAM31, I'm going to rework a few quirks.) 10000000000000, Rex12345 - Thanks I try to put detail as much as I can, even though it does prove tedious and time-consuming. Grstudios - Thank you! Hope I'll keep up! Titanicbuff - We at the Great Central Railroad do not sell over-the-counter drugs. However, we do serve excellent meals aboard our intercity trains. Guaranteed horse-free. Pixelsims - Indeed, Ayleston derives its name from Aylesbury. I had to change the name as another town further north (Amesbury) took precedence to remove any possible confusion. Map The Commonwealth of Traebia c. 1961. Notice how many cities have grown in the last few updates : most importantly, cities on the coast are becoming more and more industrialized, especially with the Interstate being built (you can spot it on this map) and the harbor in Verona becoming bigger and bigger. Albany and Traebia City have doubled these past two years - mostly, well-off refugees from the war-torn Winhill decided to move to Traebia to save their belongings and start anew in a town that has some of the lowest residential taxes, and offers plenty of opportunities. In fact, the Timber Maniacs magazine named Traebia "most promising State of the Decade". But Seahaven's success is not harmless; in fact, Candar's thriving economy was killed, and the town's progress was shot dead. Welcome to Candar Candar has always striven to be a modern city. Despite its heritage, it has always tried to be avant-garde on many designs. The Goldstein Bridge, built in 1959 to carry State Route 6 and, hopefully, Federal Route 51 when it is approved, is an example of this modernity blending with the old infrastructure and buildings of Candar. Waterfront - Charming, is it not? Well, not quite. Candar is an inland city, but the wide river allowed it to develop a fluvial trading economy. Until the late 50s, even sea-going vessels came to dock at Candar. Nowadays though, Seahaven's piers are more suited for the job. It's dangerous for a town to be based on a single, main economy. It will not take too long before the collapse of the harbour brings about the full decay of the town. Look at all these abandonned and dirty buildings! Not to mention the apartments that were built in prevision for a flattened road that was never built, or the near-lifeless docks. Candar was just taking its flight, but Seahaven's booming expansion overkilled Candar's economic drive. Richmond - Not everything looks bleak. The streetcars in Candar carry a lot of passengers throughout the city, and the central station is simply monumental. Dubbed "the little great station", its size hides a train shed in its northern wing, and foreshadows future northward development for the Dollet and Springfield Railroad - Traebia City, Garland and beyond. Whether this will halt the decay in the town, no one knows. Richmond - Overview of Richmond, Candar's wealthy district. Even here, decay strikes and mansions seem abandoned. Cathedral - The Church of Hyne is a monumental church (that is being surpassed in Traebia City by a faux-gothic cathedral). It was built in 1750 to commemorate the One God, Hyne. Today, amongst the little paved windy streets in Candar, it dominates the skyline of the sleepy city.Religion in Dollet is dominated by the Church of Hyne, though smaller religions exist. This particular church, though, is known all over Traebia; but again, tourism is not Candar's forté, and there are many opinions on whether the cathedral will help revitalize Candar, or crumble with it. Victoria Estates - The northern suburbs of Candar are from a time when people still flocked to work in the harbour. Nowadays, it is far from everything and slowly falling into quiet desuetude. You can still spot the northern end of the streetcar line, on the right hand border, but it takes horribly long to reach downtown. Stanton - More surburbs! Those are somewhat newer, and still healthy enough. Most of the people in here work in the factories on the waterfront. Notice the older road textures to the south, as well as the train station. If you're going westwards in Traebia, it's as far as you can get - Yauland begins just past the railroad right of way. Whistler - Candar has a huge industrial district that seems to offer a bit of resistance to the collapse of the town economy, thanks to the rail link to the rest of the state. Will it prevent urban decay? Well...not sure. Many industries are planning to leave for "greener" pastures, in fact, and planned extensions to the industrial ward will most likely never come true. Waterfront - The waterfront area slumbers, quiet yet uncertain. Many houses are abandoned though you can still admire the tight grid of the town's old areas. In the past two years, 10'000 people have left, and mostly settled on the Traebian coast. Plans to improve the streets were once considered, a mere few years ago, but have been scrapped since. East Shores - On the other side of the river, tenements and businesses were constructed in prevision for an eastward sprawl that mostly never occurred This side of the city is known for its cabarets and theaters, but also for its gloomy and empty structures. Overview - We conclude with an overview of Candar, the big city that held big promises but came short of fulfilling them, the town that was about to shine but was killed before it could. Isn't it quite the irony that the "town of progress" that brought the modern resources the state needed is brought to decline by this very drive for progress? I don't know, but what is certain is that the booming economy Traebia has experienced the past few years definitely does collateral damage - two sides of a coin, perhaps. Who knows what awaits the town in the future though? Will the surviving industry and some tourism help keep the town afloat, or shall the declining Candar trip over the edge of decay into urban blight and oblivion? Until then, thanks for reading, and I welcome your feedback. - 5

Random Picture 2
Today I present you another image from my recent works. This is a close-up of one of my recent mountain towns in Alpena. I will try to get ready my region to continue the tour were I left it, with my pending update of Coltonburg, but that's going to take some time, as I am having some issues to resolve there before I can start to tweak it for the update. See you next time! - 27
