  3. To don't misunderstand this journal, please, first read these introductions: http://community.simtropolis.com/journal/4747/entry-22649-let-me-take-you-to-hochlands/ 1) and http://community.simtropolis.com/journal/4747/entry-22657-adriatic-hochlands-introduction-and-facts/ 2) "If you're a stranger and you have to reach the mainland of Hochlands, you have to ask to the seaport security a permission to do that. So,with a dirty, simple and ruined paper of the local sea transport company "Koterlinien",with the texts written in German,Croatian,Slovenian and Italian,I finally got on the boat to Dobrau..." "...We knew that we were arrived when ,in a desolate landscape with few forests,we saw a village where all the houses had black roofs. At the same time,a boat's bell rang and a voice yelled "WIR SIND ANGEKOMMEN! STIGLI SMO!" in german and then in croatian. The boat made a curve, after the village, and we entered in a creepy and narrow fiord. After 10 minutes,we saw a lovely town completely sorrounded by hills. It was Dobrau,we were arrived!" Dobrau (Dubrava in Croatian,Slovenian and Italian,Dőbrő in Hungarian) is a strategic town, located 40kms north of Passein, built in a narrow fiord, that makes Dobrau an ideal repair for boats and battleships. Dobrau is one of those towns in Hochlands that make a municipality, that for the Hochlands' law is a piece of territory, very similar to a district, that has other villages or towns that are under the administration of a specific town. The opposites of the municipalities are the "Cities/Free Cities". In this municipality there are 2245 inhabitants. 2000 of them live in Dubrava itself, while 210 live in the village of Srendau (Srendovci in Croatian and Slovenian,Serindano in Italian,Serrő in Hungarian) and 35 live in the small village of Dobrauer Schwartzdorf (Dubravsko Crno selo in Croatian,Dubravsko Črno selo in Slovenian,Cerno di Dubrava in Italian and Feketfalu in Hungarian). (Srendau) The ethnic composition is...: 70% Croatians,18% Slovenes,5% Italians,6% Hungarians and 1% Austrians. Dubrava is also an important ferry port and railway station. There are no road or railway links to the western part of Hochlands, except if you take a boat to Passein,or if you continue to the north, where road and railway links to the west are insured.

One recreational spot is Plana lake, for pedal boating and walk trail Chalo n: On t he west island is Chalon. In the city you will find “le Chalon sur Saon” historic commercial and residential quarter. It is not actually historic, it has been purpose built then years ago. Thanks to all for your comments and appreciations! Good morning! Are you ready for the next landing? Today we will visit the Terminal 4. Terminal 4 is one of the largest, most spacious terminals at Jerome International Airport. More than 20 international airlines carry millions of passengers annually. Terminal 4 is part of the vast central terminal area that I want to show in this photo: Terminal 4 is the major gateway for international arrivals at Jerome International Airport and is able to handle the Airbus A380: Terminal 4 has 20 gates in two concourses. Concourse A has ten gates, numbered A1–A10. Concourse B has nine gates, numbered B11–B19: Concourse A Concourse B The terminal is located in front of the Runway 18L/27R Terminal 4 serves many international airlines daily, including Avianca, China Airlines, Emirates, Etihad, KLM, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, SWISS, Transaero Airlines, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic and more. I hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to the cj of Tocoma City. I created Tocoma City that is a mid-size city about a year ago. It is one of my favorite and realistic cities. It currently has a population of about 130 000 people in the city core. Enjoy the photos! comments and likes are appreciated! Here is a layout of central downtown The start of the Tocoma Highway which starts of with 2 lanes and expands into 10 lanes as it gets denser into the city More of the Tocoma Highway: Exit and on ramps and also a sign where the local Mcdonalds is: Up town in Tocoma suburbs just on the outskirts of the city: Tocoma industrial. Normally buildings are not allowed backed up on the highway but the old car factory was built much before the highway itself. Here is Central bridge, built 78 years ago. It leads into Tocoma with commuters and travelers having to pay a toll. The highway follows for many miles down south. The bridge enters just east of Tocoma downtown. To the right is mostly factories and to the left, is the municipal airport and the population gets denser as it nears the city centre. Here leading more into downtown with Tocoma university. It is small but very diverse with many of these buildings also being apart of the university such as the medical center on the bottom left. Many of the students take the monorail into school which next stops downtown. Here we can see Tocoma Central church. It was built almost 200 years ago when the Swiss started colonizing which gave the church as Swiss background and look. It is one of Tocoma's oldest buildings. Also you can see many expensive apartments and condos looking over the water, which rise on the banks on Tocoma's downtown. You can see Tocoma universities soccer field. Home to the Tocoma Tigers. It seats 30 000 and mostly sells out every game. It is located right infront of central downtown on many busy streets and monrails. It is located in some of the poorer parts, which most cities have. Passed the monorail line, starts the downtown core. The white clock tower is the second 3rd oldest building in Tocoma just after the old city library top middle. Many of the buildings in the picture are much older than the rest, being Tocoma's old district, with fine architecture. AND HERE IS THE BEAUTIFUL DOWNTOWN CORE. A midsize city with character and flare. The building on the water in the large house at the right is the mayor's mansion. The middle is the city hall at the old district, with the city museums and churches and the old clock tower, the left is the financial and business distict with more modern glass buildings. More left is the Swiss church with the unique diagonal building leading to downtown, and there are also many fancy residences along the water with beaches. We will look more into all this below. A closer look at central Tocoma This is Tocoma tower, a brown building with a spiking radio and television spire. It is the oldest and tallest building in Tocoma from its large spire. On to the more modern part as the financial and business district with Lavista hotel in the center, it cost $1000 a night to stay there. More downtown, day then night: A view of downtown from the water: Side view: View of the whole city. Downtown at the front, Central Bridge, the outskirts and the highways: It was a city a created long ago and one of my most favorite ones. Thanks for viewing and sorry about some of the job bubbles that pop up some pictures. Couldnt get them to go away :@ :@ Like and leave a comment. Thanks!
  10. Well... Long time no post!!! However, I have to do an announcement to all SimCity fans: I will continue CJing, but updates will be more sparse and more random stuff, because I don't dedicate as much time to SC4 as I did in the past nowadays, but... ...let's go with today's update, Casteñola's airport, or better.... History of an airport!! We start down in 1956, when the project of a new airport in Casteñola was born. The airport of Casteñola-Rivalles, the one existing at that time since 1920, was starting to be too small for a fast-pace growing city like Casteñola. A bigger airport was needed, with enough space for even bigger aircraft, and far enough from the downtown to avoid noise pollution, increasing that time because of the new jet-powered airliners. --- In 1964, the State Goverment bought a large plot of land at Villanueva de Casteñola, 19 km away from downtown Casteñola, and then, started a bidding process for the construction of the airport. Finally, the bidding process finished, and the works began in 1970, finishing in 1974. The first flight to land at the new Casteñola-Villanueva (or Castenyola-Vilanova) airport was an Aeroimperio Douglas DC-9, coming from Vistalegre, the 6 September 1974. --- The Casteñola-Villanueva terminal, Photo taken in 1974. --- However, the golden era of the Casteñola Airport came in the '80s. Between 1979 and 1987, the Casteñola airport became the busiest airport in Nueva Iberia, superseding the Vistalegre airport. However, the majority of this dense air traffic was due to layovers of flights reaching other destinations, because of its large capacity. But after the Vistalegre airport was expanded, the leadership returned to the capital. --- The airport's main entrance photographed in 1980. --- The '90s was an important decade for this airport too, because a major expansion took place. Back in the '80s, the idea of a new terminal started to grow, and finally in 1991 the works started, ending in 1994. Also, a third runway was constructed, increasing even more the capacity. --- The B Terminal finally opened in November 1994. It was made for single-aisle aircraft, but some gates were left to larger aircraft. It features a main building, where all check-in booths and baggage claims are located, altogether with some gates, and then a T-shaped concourse, where the majority of gates are located. --- The main entrance of the B Terminal. --- And now, time for some pics of the airport... Main entrance of the first built terminal, renamed 'Terminal A' since the opening of the new one. --- A view of the A terminal and the ATCT. --- The main building of the B Terminal. In front of it, the skyway leading to the A Terminal, and the B Terminal parking. --- An overview of the B Terminal. --- A closeup of the B Terminal's concourse. --- Both terminals A and B are linked together by a shuttle bus every 10 minutes, and both of them have subway connection between them, and with the rest of the city. It takes between 20-25 minutes to reach downtown by subway. --- So, hope you liked this update, and don't forget to comment and rate!
  11. 14 months have been passed after the last update of this city journal. I'll be honest, I'm not going to update it anymore. There are a lot of reasons why I'm going to stop Eden: The New Frontier. First of all, real life issues. I'm studying English for the Proficiency diploma, looking for a job and writing a book. If I'm lucky, writing will be my job. I'm also busy with the Barsoom Project. I have already reloted a great majority of the Maxis lots, but still there's work do be done. But the most important reason is the city journal itself. Since my last update, I have improved my English (grammar mistakes still takes place, but not in the previous tragic level) and I want to build something new, something fresh, something epic and exotic. Don't worry thought. All the sci-fi themes of Eden: The New Frontier will be back, like human evolution, space colonization, resource-based economy, Ancient Martians, cyborgs, anarchic societies, extraterrestrial artifacts, alien lifeforms, arcologies and terraforming of Mars. But there will be more this time. That's right, we're talking about a remake of Eden: The New Frontier, which will be released somewhere in 2014. The Gardens of Eden Thank you very much for following Eden all this time. See you in the new Eden
  12. A few weeks ago I added the BSC canal pack to my plug ins folder. immediately after I had to make the hard decision as to create a separate zone in my headlining city (Capitol City), or create a brand new flatter map that I could better make a city completely based off the presence of canals.

ultimately I decided to go with working on a special area for the canals in capitol city.
Considering the fact that there was very little room on the large map due to the fact that most of the infrastructure had been pre-built to deal with a metropolis I was hard pressed to find a nice area for the canals.
I eventually found it in the far west corner of the map, although it was right off a highway I decided I could make it look decent and even pretty using good features like highway walls.

These were the results. I'm still having issues with putting pictures in. I've managed to get the .jpg sharing thing down but I still don't know how to put in HTML code for the pictures.

Since my laptop crashed without any backup of the previous Echo Valley, i will start on this new region, SITW01 by NHP. I have named it Rasper. The sims were furious at what turned out to be the provision of the Empire. The Emperor tricked the rebel sims into almost obliterating them by giving them Echo Valley province. The ruse was to gather all the rebels together and then obliterate the entire region (Maxis SC4 is very good at it) and get rid of all the rebels of the Empire once and for all. But, as is the stuggle for survival, the sims found out and escaped to Rasper. They vowed to get their revenge: a very bitter one. (Image files are 1-2 MB and 1360x768 in size) Rasper region: The sims founded the capital of Rasper and named it, well, Capital. (Marked in red in the region map.) Farms were set up to grow the food for the expecting flood of people going to fill the valley in which it is situated. The overall view garyF
  14. Newport Harbor Marine-Naval Air Station Draft Prepared by: Wreckingball Man Item 1 Terraforming has been smooth and went along ahead of schedule. This phase is now complete. Item 2 Development of the airport is far behind schedule. Hope and motivation is in short supply among the work force. We need to finish this project soon. Detail in the lots may suffer along with the removal of certain sections due to lack of time and budget. Item 3 Custom lots are also slow to develop. Finding and procuring suitable props (military planes) has not been as succesful as hoped. Outlook is bleak, morale is low. This airfield, ladies and gentlemen, needs to be complete. Currently reaching out to new subcontractors. Leave your resume in the comments section, all criticism is welcome.
  15. Across the pond there is another city with a majestic skyline and beautiful architecture. Uniontown. The city of Uniontown was founded before Bon and had it's population boost Way before Uniontown became overshadowed by Bon. The buildings are older, the architecture has that 30's feel, and the folks are quite nicer. Cross tower (tall brown) was the first skyscraper built in Uniontown and to this day, it is the tallest. Another Shot of Cross tower. In the 1970's when Interstate 21 was being built through Uniontown, three blocks had to be demolished at the intersection we are looking at, and over 6 other blocks had to be destroyed to build the highway. Like Bon, Uniontown's downtown is separated from the rest of the city by interstate 21. Dealai Plaza on Market street, home to a weekly farmer's market. In the southern part of downtown, we have the newly developed Bay view section of the city. The Uniontown side of the Tunnel. And last but not least we have Downtown at night. Thanks for visiting!

WELCOME TO GEOMETRIA!!! (No fancy region shot yet. It looks pretty horrible, if you ask me. ) Welcome to the Island Republic of Geometria! Hence its name, it is the home for great mathematicians and scientists. The republic is located at the boundary of Southeast Asia and East Asia. It is north of the Philippines, east of Taiwan, southeast of China, and south of Japan. The republic is located at the typhoon belt, so it gets battered by typhoons often... The republic is known for its unusual climate. It is classified as a "troperate" region ( ) because it features the 4 seasons, but it almost never snows there. The average temperature all in all is 28° C. The record high temperature in Geometria is 43.5° C, recorded in August 1995, while the record low is -2° C, recorded in January 2010. The republic features mostly planes and gentle rolling hills, which are perfect for agricultural communities, dense CBD's, and peaceful subdivisions. The highest point is Mount Matisfun, at 3,501 m above sea level. It also features a successful and thriving highway system and a modern public transportation system, so Geometria's citizens won't get worried about traffic jams and delays.. Well, not much to show, but here's a pic of the Octalhoma City CBD which will be toured next update: That's it for today...

His administration replaced the racist white-minority regime that had enforced segregation of black and white people in a policy known as apartheid. Like the residents are the bread to the growth of the city, PR is the butter in helping that growth move forward. Of all government sectors, PR is the fastest growing one in Flagstaff Hill. So here is my layout for my industrial sector, I like this layout for industrial becouse it makes your city very unique. This is my layout for my residential zones. You may notice the empty spaces between the zones, these are there because I have done a lot of thinking for high density. This is a screenshot of some construction I took to symbolize my city moving fowerd.

There're a lot of shopping malls in Kreuzberg however a building company is constructing another one. The investors plan that more than 20 well known brands will move in next year and lots of consumers will visit the shopping center. Hi everyone! It's been a very long time since I've updated here. In part that's because my region Siilijoki has been inactive for almost a year while I've been focusing on a group region called the NORO Cooperative over at SC4D. And in part it's for the same reasons so many others decide not to maintain journals over multiple sites. While I've never considered Siilijoki "retired" it essentially was until a nomination for OSITM over there last month arm-twisted me into action. I don't want to get into details to the point that it gets boring but to summarize: 1) I've started from scratch on an enlarged version of the same region (thanks to drunkapple) 2) Plugins have been redone from scratch (though I did borrow pretty heavily from my old Siilijoki plugins and from the NORO ones) 3) Copies of its region and plugins files are hosted online and the plugin-building has been collaborated with Swordmaster. Collaborative play is a possibility in the future. 4) During marathon play to be able to put on a week of featured content I could be really proud of I built a pretty significant amount of area for me (my playing style is very slow and detailed). Unfortunately I may have to start over due to some hurried modding that could cause problems down the road, but with the terrain saved the bridges, waterways, and transit networks will be easy to rebuild and those are the most time-consuming things anyway. 5) The new Siilijoki will maintain most of the style of the old. Most recently I've been working on snowy scenes. It ended up taking me a lot more time than I expected after I decided the snowy terrain mod didn't properly fit my new snowy rock mod. Turns out terrain modding is a lot more work than rocks & beaches & such. Anyway, hope you like what I've been up to Trying to capture the feel of midwinter's noon in Lapland Tigers looking for a reindeer snack I love snow in the twilight--which is probably good considering I live on the Arctic Circle Without trees and in a mountainous area you can get a better idea of the textures of the terrain. Other than the my rocks in the steepest areas the textures are based off of the Antarctic Terrain Mod on the STEX Thanks for looking!
