Coal Wine n' Tabaccy Country (part 1)
As promised, a tour of the White Tank Mountains of western Cosarara! We start at the Bloody Creek train station, where we get off to meet our driver and tour guide. The two introduce themselves before we enter our specially-arranged vehicle, a Majestic Motors 48 Special Series built right here in the Motherland. We come upon the Bloody Creek Mountain Tunnel, the gateway into these mountains. Once we emerge on the other side, we pass by small towns... Coal mines... Vineyards... and several tobacco fields. We also take small excursions into the mountains themselves. The town of Arrowhead Ridge (Érich) is located on one of these large hills and is mainly known for the June 15, 1998 Érich dance hall bombings, which claimed the lives of 35 people who were attending a graduation dance at the time. The president's hometown, Wolf Run (sometimes called the Boondocks): Our next stop is a fairly-sized manufacturing town just east of the district's center of governmental operations (and largest city), Cacciatora. Heading north into town... and into the town itself... Doubling back towards the ocean, we stop at the town of Mennet. Our tour guides were nice enough to arrange lunch for our party, which we'll be eating in the park. (to be continued in part 2) - 33

Saint Vinis
Saint Vinis! Welcome back to the The Foltson Pact CJ! Year 3, Rigo and his crew are getting settled and he sets up a scout party to discover new resources. A group of 5 start a small scout trip. After walking a few miles the stumble on a collapsed tunnel. they hurry back to Rigo to report what they've found. Rigo immediately sets up a team to clear the tunnel. He is nosy and needs to know what might be behind the tunnel. It took them 3 weeks to clear the tunnel and they lost a member due to a collapse in the tunnel during digging work. They couldn't believe what they've discovered. Another town, housing approximately 150 inhabitants. He walks into the village and asks the first man he finds who's in charge. The elder, probably 55 years old which is a very old age for this time, tells him Victor Invictus is in charge and leads them to the, work still in progress, town hall. The team, satisfied because they are not alone and hoping on some help, walk up to an young man. The man has a big scar in his face and is missing an ear. Rigo introduces himself and the man winks to some guards. Rigo and his crew look get a bit closer to each other and are holding a defensive stand. The young man, named Victor, replies the their behavior: "Where are my manners! My name is Victor Invictus;" "I am the town leader, may I offer you something to drink?" One of Vic's guards walks up to Rigo and offers him ale. Rigo doesn't hesitate and shares the ale with his crew. Victor starts laughing "Haha, you thirsty ey? Let me guide you to our pub." Rigo and Victor had a chat with each other and drunk some beers. At the end of the day Victor tells Rigo he could ask everything he needed. And he and his people are always welcome in Saint Vinis. I hope you guys liked this episode! - 3

Great Kingdom of As a great institution of learning and culture throughout our history, Texca University continues to be the leader in prestige and education throughout the Simworld. Today, the university proudly presents to the public a new lecture series from the College of Urban Planning and Design. Welcome to the Texca University Public University Lectures Series. We hope this program will bring insight to your mind and some new learning of things or places not before thought of. In our lovely campus we have several colleges. This series will be led by the College of Urban Planning and Design. Enjoy! Welcome to Lecture 1 of the Urban Planning and Design department. We have several lectures that will be coming from this department. Today's lecture will focus on the urban design phenomenon known as Breaks. The following lectures will available in the coming weeks: 1. Breaks 2. Nodes 3. Edges 4. Urban Renewal 5. Urban Sprawl Once past these lectures, more will be posted. Lets begin! We will first begin with defining what a Break is. You have seen these breaks everywhere in your maps, many times. As city enthusiasts, we study the city, we define the city, we design the city. In this design, we have a certain grid pattern. In Downtown Texca Hills, the pattern looks like this: This pattern is typically known as Gridiron or Grid, as it's commonly called. The grid pattern is very square and whether facing north-south or north-west to south-east, the pattern is always in a box like shape. There are curves and cuts here and there, but most of the pattern is similar. How do we identify a break? A Break occurs wherever any street pattern is broken and the grid or any other pattern changes dramatically, as done by Avenue of the Hills: Avenue of the Hills acts as a break in downtown. South of the street, the pattern is north-south. When those streets reach Avenue of the Hills, the grid pattern changes to east-west. Remember, in order for a street to be a break, the entire pattern must change, not just one street's change. So on this map, here is an example of what is not a break: Crossfields Blvd is a diagonal street that cuts through downtown but is not a break. With the exception of one street, Crossfields does not "break" the street pattern, neither does the grid change dramatically. Even if the street is diagonal, it can still be a break, but not in this case. As you continue to design your cities, keep in mind this natural phenomenon. It is not just designed. Breaks are usually in place where a town began to grow dramatically and altered its course. Most cities began along shores, but when they grew inland, breaks began to occur to accommodate for this growth. Take a look at any city maps, and you will find breaks. Can you spot the many breaks in the Central Quadrant? Thats all for breaks! We hope you learned something valuable in urban design today. Reply with examples of breaks from your cities, as proof of your Break awareness. See you next lecture. Class dismissed!

Stage 0-Introductions+Brief overview
Welcome to my city Journal! the first entry of this city journal will basically provide some base info of this project. Lets start off with the map i'll be working on (picture wasn't by me, I forgot to take one before I started to build): Easy enough huh? Now as im using a sand box mod, Ive limited myself to using only 3 mods for this project: -One All resource provider (not really needed but still helpful) -Only one money bank that really doesn't provide much money -And Sandbox job buildings. they aren't too noticeable but will stand out on data maps NOTHING ELSE WILL BE MODIFIED. now that that's out of the way lets move on... oh before I forget some of the early stages was not pictured but I will point to where i started from in later updates. well see you next update! -

New Found (Finished)
Message from Me! Well, it's been a while since y'all have heard from me? Yeah? Fairview Tax Cut
Same stats as previous entry Tax revenue has exploded over the last twenty years, increasing by 150%! Instead of using the surplus of cash to line their own pockets, the city council has decided to give it back to the people, with a proposed bill for an across-the-board 1.5% tax cut passing unanimously in the city council. While this will reduce net income to $10,000 from $17,000, this will be offset by the enormous increase in demand for all sectors.- Read More

Utilities Part 1: Flares Nuclear Power Facility
After a long pause... We'll be taking a look at some of the utilities that the city and the region of Josephinia rely on, as no modern life will function without the basic amenities of electrical power, clean water and waste management. To begin this look around the region we start southeast of Beakpoint Bay, on a peninsula called "Flares Island" where the Flares Nuclear Power Facility produces enough output day and night to feed Josephinia, it's region and the surrounding areas with electricity. As always, you can click on the pictures for a closer look. To speed up commutes, Highway 14 had an access point installed that serves the NPP. Left turn here to get to work. Northern entrance to the facility. Reactor 001 and outbuildings. Water pumping stations NI01 and NI02 and Reactor 002 control. Cooling control outbuilding and cooling tower T002 visible in the lower left. Reactor 001, all control outbuildings, central steering unit, all cooling towers and access to runoff deposit storage for control and use as additional coolant in emergency situations visible here. Reactor 002 overlooking Beakpoint Bay. Small "iron forest". Access to runoff deposit and southern cooling tower. Flares Nuclear Power Facility, owned by Sherrywood Energy Corp. "There is no 'I' in 'Nucleus!" I hope you enjoyed this first part of our trip around the important facilities in the Josephinia Metropolitan Area as much as I enjoyed taking you on it. Come back in just a few days for a look at waste management and disposal facilities, what a golly good time to be had! Please take note of set that this update obviously centers on and that I have nothing but praise for. As always, leave comments if you liked something or if you see room for improvement. I try to respond and take everything in that you guys throw my way. Keep being awesome! - 9

First glance at Grafton: The 'Hardun' Theatre, Restaurant & Club! First of all: Thanks to everyone for the wonderfull comments on the 'Baleal City Zoo' posts. And thanks to @spursrule14 for making the Zoo 'the best of the best' !! #proud Until the 1990's, the 'Hardun' Steel Mill was one of the biggest employers of Grafton. And it sure was one of the biggest buildings! But as cheap steel from India flooded the steel market, the 'Hardun' Steel Mill closed it's doors on the 11th of february 1994. For a decade, the building was not more than a relic of the past, confronting the people of Grafton every day with the fact that those good old days were long gone. To end the decay of the building, the parliament of Republica the Guatalaga voted for the demolishing of the building in 2003. But, as it often goes, the people of Grafton wanted to keep their relic. After various protests, the plans were changed and the old Steel Mill was given a new future. Today, the building houses a theatre, a restaurant, a club and a lunchroom making it the place to go if you're looking for entertainment and food. Enjoy! Subway Line U12A (phantom line)
Subway Line U12A (phantom line) In 1989, the city committee decided to build a new metro line called U12A, which was to link the new urban area Mitcheese with major transport interchange in the center of the city train station S8, S45, S89, and the station Rehwiese on the line U1, and Tannenallee on the line U12. At the beginning of the construction of 6 stations have been identified: Mitcheese, Apfelallee, Hohe Ahren, Rehwiese (interchange U1), Hentzeweg, Tannenallee (interchange U12). Construction of the new line began in February 1989 and consisted of two phases of construction: the first were laid construction sites for stations Tannenallee (February 1989), Hentzeweg (March 1989) and Rehwiese (June 1989) and after the end of construction in 1996 were work began on the construction of the station Hohe Ahren (May 1996). The plot line U12A from the station Tannenallee to Hohe Ahren was under the ground, and the rest of the line was to go over the surface, as like as city train, and to come to the Mitcheese station via Apfelallee, which was connected to the line S11, S24, S26. In 1998 began the first premise that the section of the line will not be ready in time for 2000, as it was planned. The work on this section were first stopped in September 1998, when a piece of equipment was forwarded to build a more promising line of subway U13 (which was later renamed the U3A), and on the line U12A were working in the already constructed tunnels between stations Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren. September 1998: Stop the main works on the line U12A. November 1998: Begins extension of the platform Mitcheese. December 1998 - February 1999: Expanding platform Mitcheese completed, built a platform for the future subway station . Work began on the construction of the flyover for the paths toward Apfelallee. March - June 1999: Erected and prepared ground for the plant Apfelallee. July 1999: All of the tunnels construction equipment transported to the construction of transmission lines U13 and U14. August 1999: construction of a protective cap on the entrance to the tunnel by Apfelallee. October 1999: The decision to conserve land line Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren. October 1999: Construction of the station Apfelallee completely stopped construction site dismantled. December 1999: Construction of paths from Mitcheese - stopped. Reversal dead ends - are over. February 2000: A new plan for the construction and modernization of the line U12A. March 2000 - September 2002: Work on the sections of the line - not conducted. September 2002: The line U12A renamed U38. (the name of the line will be set in 2021) November 2002 - March 2004: A complete inspection and repair of the line from Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren. April 2004: Began construction of the tunnel between the line U12A and U12, for communication with the subway system. August 2004: Began the planning and construction of the new station Neuer Steg which should continue the line U12A to the south of the city. December 2005: The construction of tunnels between Tannenallee - Neuer Steg complete. Neuer Steg station built only in designs . Outputs up there . Reversal tunnel behind the station - to be built. February 2006: In the section of the line Tannenallee - Hohe Ahren were flown by two trains of 6 cars. March 2006: The team diggers enters in the tunnel between Rehwiese - Hentzeweg. Witnesses took lots of photos , and assure that the line is fully built and heavily guarded. June 2007 - February 2011: The whole line U12A temporarily closed. November 2011: Announced new plans for the reconstruction of the line. November 2011 - April 2012: Work on the line - not conducted. Construction of the stantion Neuer Steg is completed. April 2012 - November 2012: Work on the construction of the station Mitcheese restored and fully implemented. May 2012: Organized by shuttle trains between stations Neuer Steg and Rehwiese, the interchange between the lines U12A and the U12 is not made. Learning the Ropes: Centre Part 1
Just a small update for today! http://youtu.be/s59ibN0AF3A Welcome to Centre! As you can see though many high reaching skyscrapers have finally reached the ceiling of the city; however the city is still partially incomplete. Many of the structures have been implemented into the city ,but many areas remain uninhabited. The regional highway system allows many commerce from the surrounding suburbs to reach into Centre and take part in its massive shopping infrastructure. This is the current state of the region. Though many people have been moving in from the surrounding region, much of the land remains empty. To the south of Centre There is another business district growing to accommodate for much of the retail in the region. Much of the construction in the region is grid-like than anything else. There is a regional railway network along with a regional highway network to accommodate for much of the heavy traffic that comes on to our smaller lane highways. Much more to come so stay tuned! - 3

2: Waves of Progress
Progress in the city is going well as one of the most iconic bridges in the metropolis has been erected. Designed to handle freight trucks, commuters like it well. It has enough truss power to withstand a earthquake and a hurricane, (COMBINED) This bridge has pedestrian walkways under it, and paralyzing views of the future city. Residents are quickly flocking here to get the future condos and high rise apartments worth buckets of money! The mayor has called out for big companies to move quickly here to seed the massive metro area. Normally, the area would be swept by gentrification, but it is being worked on by the people. Black Hole Waste Management Co. is servicing the NY Metro Area by kicking trash in its ass! Will Wright Medical Services is here to help at your resident's service! Uptown City's shipyard just opened up here. A wide variety of boats to "borrow", that's if they are returned. Bah, the owner is a filthy rich millionaire living off of city expenses and your mother's welfare money, he doesn't care if you bring back the damn boat or not... Historic Sosavola General High School is done it's yearly renovations. Go to school, kids! High rise apartments rise in front of the park. MORE PROGRESS SOON......- Read More

Khaleen (2)
With the new power plant those ‘fancy folk from down east’ recently installed, the town has more than adequate power to address the needs of all 350 Sims, surely a feat of achievement for Khaleen. The old power house up the road was a tad on the sketchy side, half the town couldn’t even charge their batteries. Gee those fancy folk are nice, aren’t they? Meanwhile, down east: Executive Officer for Inter-Regional Development: “…Dauth is a resource rich wonderland just waiting to be tapped. Logging, mining - the works. We’ve done tests, countless tests. The soil is great for agricultural growth and the coastline is ideal for trade. The entire western side is- oh, no no. Yes, of course. I realize the ecological effects this will have on the region, but think of the economical effects as well! Of course, the plan is to preserve as much of the natural landscape as we can. Are we all in agreement, then? Excellent. Now, as it stands Khaleen is the deepest access point into the region we have. We should take advantage of this. If we start there, we can establish living quarters for workers and methodically work our way towards the coast. Once industry and trade are established…. We’re talking huge simoleons. So lets get moving then! All of you, start making phone calls.” ----------------------- Incase you didn't pick it up, in that metaphor I'm Khaleen and custom content/the Simcity community are the Executive Officer for Inter-Regional Development. In the grand scheme of things it'll be great for Khaleen, but I dare say it'll take more than a spoon full of sugar to make this medicine go down. By the way, how come my pictures are so small? haha -

Hello everyone, and welcome to part... 2 of the Capitol River Region (intro definitely not stolen from a certain SC4 Youtube Series ). Sorry for the long wait, I have many excuses I can drop for the long break, but I think I'll stick with RL and waiting for NAM 32 to be released proper (I had some visual issues with the pre-release and so didn't really want to show any dodgy images). Anyway, the main thing I needed after the initial dialling in and placement of trees and stuff, was a plan. In the past I've rarely used one of these, since I've felt more comfortable just doing what I want and seeing what happens, but in my last region I found this led to some logistical issues when I started to grow out my towns. So, this time I made a quick one using inkscape: Yellow and blue Lines are major highways, green and blue are less major routes (i.e. not all interchanges will be grade separated), the white and grey dashed line shows the rail routes, and the different shaded circles are where I'm planning on the settlements being. This is very rough and subject (hell, I've already broken bits of it), but should give an idea of where I'm going with this. So far, I have pretty much all of the southern infrastructure done, so here are some pictures of the more interesting bits of that: Up first is the intersection connecting the main highway south with the main city's ring road and the inner-city motorway (I really need to think of names for stuff for the next part, description is hard). I guess it's a partially unravelled cloverleaf, but don't quote me on that. The actual design was borrowed from the Show Us Your... Interchanges thread, which I then converted into LHD. We also have something on the smaller side, a fairly compact trumpet interchange next to the rural settlement (which I have started some work on) in the South-East of the region. Some of the bends are a little tight, but I figure traffic use will be light and so a sprawling, high-quality interchange is unnecessary. We also have a picture of the two bridges crossing the river just to the West of the first interchange. Not much to say about this, I really just thought it looked semi-interesting and was concious of how little I actually have to show thus far I guess I may as well chuck in a region shot to show the progress across the region as well. Well, see you next time guys, and hopefully much sooner Cheers Lordyboy - 2
