14 months have been passed after the last update of this city journal. I'll be honest, I'm not going to update it anymore. There are a lot of reasons why I'm going to stop Eden: The New Frontier. First of all, real life issues. I'm studying English for the Proficiency diploma, looking for a job and writing a book. If I'm lucky, writing will be my job. I'm also busy with the Barsoom Project. I have already reloted a great majority of the Maxis lots, but still there's work do be done. But the most important...

a small Martian colony

Remember that it's not a truly tutorial, so don't blame me if something goes wrong As about the trial paths, there are plenty of them here in Simtropolis, as well as in SC4D and SimPeg. Find your favourite style and grab it Let's see what happened to the colony. Hmm, not bad. Here are some advises from me. Take them or leave them To build my colonies, I always fire up the Lot Editor and make my lots. SimMars doesn't have trail paths, so use the Lot Editor to make your own. With some imagination and the...

Thanks for the comments folks Now that we have a nice place to play, it's time to build a colony. Remember that playing Simcity on Mars isn't the same with the Terran version. There are no historical cities with landmarks like castles and ruins, except if they made by aliens. Also Mars is a dangerous planet, so living there is really challenging. Plan your colony in order to be as efficient as possible. Forget realism and rules. In order to survive, you need to think out of the box. The design style of...

Thank you very much for the comments . Just remember that lurking is not so recommend Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Ralph Waldo Emerson Time to make something different and take a small brake from the story. Time to build a Martian colony from scratch. First, let's make a small terraforming. For this "tutorial" we'll use a large map to have enough room to play. So here we are... Nice, isn't? Of course Mars is not a flat planet, so let's make the...

After a break, Eden is back with new ideas and new stories. I still don't have the spirit to make new mayor colonies like Hope-1, but still it's a good idea to stay tuned for new surprises ;) Schulmanator: Yeah KonstantinII: While there are some astronomical observatories here in Greece, I didn't use any of them. It's inaccurate because it's fictional, but not so fictional after all MilitantRadical: Thanks westy177: Thank you MamaLuigi945: And it's back NMUSpidey: Hope that the new pages will be nice like...

The end?

It seems that I don't have anymore the spirit to run Eden and build new colonies. My original plans was to make a unique story about the space colonization, the rise of Homo Superior and the creation of a huge intergalactic civilization, made by both Sims and aliens. A story that begun somewhere in the 21st century on Mars and goes beyond the death of our Universe. However I don't feel that I really want to even play Simcity. Maybe this is only temporary and new colonies will rise soon. Maybe this is the...

Page 44: Visitors?

The today's page is inspired by the 19th century Martian Madness. This is the time was erroneously believed that there were canals on Mars, made by an extraterrestrial civilization. These were a network of long straight lines that appeared in drawings of the planet Mars, first observed by the Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli in 1877, and "confirmed" by later observers like the American Percival Lowell. Schiaparelli called these lines canali (natural rivers), which whoever was translated into...

Check your comments for my replies Page 43: Minimum-Maximum "And every friend I've got has been writing Mars stories. It was pretty clear I'd never catch up." Larry Niven Remember an extremely dense colony called Life-6? By making a lot of changes in Life-6, the colony has now more open spaces and not be an ugly jungle anymore. The result in that now the colony has 250.000 Sims than 700.000 To do this, I made some extra lots for many tall buildings, in order to constructed no matter the zoning size. I...

Check your comments for my replies Page 42: Planet of the Transapiens "Let me strive every moment of my life, to make myself better and better, to the best of my ability that all may profit by it." Code of Doc Savage Ahh, home sweet home. Back on Mars, back to our homeworld, a red humble planet with a lot of surprises. Mars is the planet of opportunities and visions, where everything is possible. Many experiment are happening here on Mars. This is Evolution-7, the home of one of those experiments. We can...

Page 41: Anno 2065

After 4 months of construction, some backups and several crashes, the Terran city is finally here . Have in mind that this is a city of the future, so be prepared for a lot of "mistakes" . Before exploring the city, here are some useless facts. This city has many different layouts. One of them used in my very first city journal, Spicross. Not something nice as you can see . An another one is the application of my experimental skyscraper district layout, which got tons of negative comments because "it's...

I'm very happy to report that spursrule14,'s Alien [|] Worlds had voted as the best science fiction city journal in the Simtropolis Trixie Awards 2011 And did you notice something? Eden: The New Frontier had voted as the second best city journal Let me congratulate all winners, runner-ups and nominees Check your comments for my replies Page 40: Red and Green Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy...

Sorry, no name...

It's Tsiknopempti toady and guess what. It's time for an another one boring teaser about the still-under-construction Terran city of 2064 A.D. (95 A.T.). Remember that this city is huge, so I need to turn off the automata, pedestrians and shadows, in order to reduce lagging and crashes. So don't complain about "empty streets". Replies and a nice surprise are coming soon...

Check your comments for my replies and thank you keeping follow this story Now if you believe that Eden: The New Frontier deserve a Trixie... Hmm, bah, too boring city journal... Page 39: Let's have some fun "Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul." Democritus I finally recreate Fun-5. It has now better parks, a mining operation facility and many other interesting places to see. In 2011 A.D. (42 A.T.) the scientists discover a ring of antimatter around Earth. By...

Merry Second Christmas!

Check your comments for my replies Merry Second Christmas! "Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas." Dale Evans Planet Mars need 2 Terran years to orbit around Sun. Because of this, Mars has 24 months. So SimMartians celebrate Christmas 2 times in 1 Martian year. Is there something better than the decoration of Martian stone-made trees? Is there something better than making snowmen by Martian ice? Well, there is something better. Working for a world...

Page 38: 1 year!

With so many purple pills, I think I'll show 2 creations at the same page, the city on Earth and the colony on Mars Oh well... By the way, you can find the gardens here Page 38: 1 year! "God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well." Voltaire In 14/12/2010, a messy Mayor Diary begun it's journey into the future. It's 14/12/2011... and it's still messy  We're talking about Eden: The New Frontier, the only (so far) Simcity 4 story that it's totally based on...

Many folks here, in SC4Devotion and Simpeg select the blue pill, a future metropolis on Earth made by scratch. Others select the red pill, an improved version of a colony on Mars. Because there is still a lot of room for voting, please keep voting. Blue pill or red pill? Wanna see in the the next page a city on Earth or a colony on Mars? Until then, here are some pictures from the Terran city. Remember that is just in the beginning...

And now the news...

Live from Orbit T.V., the first T.V. studio orbiting around Earth, it's the Solar News! Everything you need to know about Earth, Moon and Mars. With of course our beautiful journalist Ann Spears. Greetings ladies and gentlemen. Today is 11/11/2065 A.D. (96 A.T.) and here are the news. First, the headlines. A Sim called Terring failed to build a beautiful Terran city for his City Journal Eden: The New Frontier. The city should be an ecological and futuristic metropolis, but the result was a catastrophe. He...

Today I'm here with 2 pills. Help me for the next page by selecting the pill you wish. Do this wisely however, the pill you'll select may (or may not) turn against you... If you select the blue pill, you'll stay on Earth. The next page will be about an ecological metropolis of 2065 A.D. (96 A.T.) on planet Earth, where technology and nature almost co-exist. Everything will be almost as you wish, making the next page nice and safe. If you select the red bill, you'll visit Mars. The next page will be about...
