Forbes ranked San Gabriel as the fastest growing city in the world in terms of urbanization and modernization. Infrastructure development throughout the city has been massive. Within a 2 year period, the city now boasts the world's tallest hotel (The Sail of San Gabriel), the world's tallest residential building (Infinity Tower), and currently constructing the world's tallest building when topped out (Titanium Spire). Progress and development has been consistent and constantly remained as the city's status quo. So what's next for San Gabriel? Well, who knows? But it's definitely going to break more records, the sky's the limit! San Gabriel Marina Skyline (Update) The Business Bay

  3. I was going to show parts of the Don Fierro District (there's glimpses of it early in this update) but the driving updates seem to be popular - and with Bayview and most of North Doherty looking presentable, I thought I should show it off with a highway update As always the plants are all hand-placed by me. Enjoy update 63 folks! We will start our drive on the hills north of Don Fierro Bay on Highway 1, and work our way south toward the heart of Doherty. Though this exit doesn't look busy now, during event days at Don Fierro Stadium, the largest stadium in the entire metropolitan area, this exit can get dicey. Heading down the hill, the skyscrapers of the Don Fierro District tower to the left. Crossing over the Don Fierro Bay Bridge now. Along with the Pulaski Bridge (refer to the giant mosaic to see the south end of it) it is the only method to drive across the Don Fierro Bay. At the southeast corner of the Bay lies Springsteen Avenue, which loops through the wealthy houses in a district nicknamed "East Egg" after the Great Gatsby. Now it is the official name of the district (and no, there is no West Egg, although Bay Point would geographically fit the criteria. Bay Point was the focus of the giant mosaic in my last post). Curving around a narrow stretch between Bean's Addition and East Egg. Central Avenue is the boundary of several districts in Bayview and the main surface street into Downtown. The main freeway into Downtown is Highway 266. The interchange between Highway 226 and Highway 1 is massive, with neighborhoods and on-ramps in the middle of the parts of the giant cloverleaf. The eastbound exit ramp. Finally out of the 266 mess now.... A major surface street here is Othello Avenue. We are now officially out of Bayview and in Doherty. Teeder Avenue connects two major intersections together and with Highway 1. A simple exit onto Oceans Avenue (not so simple going Northbound). Oceans Avenue is the major artery running along or near the Pelham Bay coastline from Bayview to Abbott's Island, paralleled by Highway 1 most of the way. Country Club Avenue is the main entrance into the sprawling 18-hole Pelham Bay National Golf Club. It extends through a bustling commercial district, Greenfield, as well. On our left is a major transit center for the East Pelham Metro as we approach Highway 19. And we're at the interchange, which is where we will stop for today. It's decision time. Okay folks, THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN VOTE! Before you do a few notes about things. About option 1 (pink, staying on Highway 1). This will take you to North Central Doherty for Update 64, as far as another interchange where I'll poll you all again on which way to go for another driving update for Update 65. If you like the roadgeek updates, this will guarantee you two more, so definitely vote for this one! Also, if you like really tall stuff, Abbott's Island is the Manhattan Island of New Chandler, so this will be a taller choice About option 2 (green, taking Highway 19 east). We won't be on Highway 19 long because we've been on almost all of it already, but we will switch out toward Garden Grove (we will not go back to St. Clair or Murray City again) on another freeway. We have seen Garden Grove already so we will drive all the way through it and further. This would probably be a slightly longer drive than option 1, but I wouldn't do another driving update for Update 65 because there aren't any freeways nearby. Thanks for the support, remember to comment (and vote!), follow, +1 - your love is what keeps me going deuces!
  4. Grantia Grantia is in the Granite lake region, it has 2 groups of cities, one on the lower, flatter shore, which includes Rinsen,Which has the largest population in the region (~100,000,Tellst, Which is an industrial town I am thinking of working on more and possibly creating a British city and the Parisian city of Nova Grantia. The second city group is comprised of Bassenburg (Which I am starting with as I have worked on it most), Clarenburg, I will probably rebuild that quite a bit and Leischam, an industrial town in a valley. Bassenburg Bassenburg was founded in 1032ad, it is in europe, on the edge of lake Grantia, somewhere around Liechtenstein. It is one of two small nations round the shores of lake Grantia. The Kingdom of Bassen is mostly German Speaking and The kingdom of Grantia on the other side of the lake is mostly Italian with some French. Bassenburg was founded by a warrior King who found a high and almost innaccessable outcrop above the lake that had enough flat land to build a castle, Olaf Bassen's original fortress was probably wood but national history has been embellished so much that it is hard to tell. The town grew around the base of the mound and another settlement sprung up by the water where the ferry is now. The city was rolled around from kingdom to kingdom until in 1504 it joined a wave of small states of which it, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg are the only remainders. It is notably smaller and less famous than those two examples. The castle was destroyed in a water pressure accident in 1882 and the royalty now live in a grand mansion in southern France and have not visited their kingdom for 12 years. The gate now at the top of the bluff is called the victory arch and was built in commemoration of the expansion in 1932 of Bassen to Leischam and a large area beyond Leischam where the planned village of Clarenburg has now been built. Pictures (some may be out-dated as the university area has since been reworked) Bassenburg University, Set up in 1926 by German and Swiss Scientists. Little known fact: high efficiency solar panels were invented here There was once a fishing village here The university sign with lake Grantia as a backdrop The german style buildings are very pretty I have no quims about advertising, free building, yes YES YES!!Preciousss is mine... Golumn (Not sure if i've already done this one) Sorry if there were any image repeats, Next I think I will upload Liescham.

My name is Rob and I will be sharing with you one of the greatest stories ever told in the history of my country, The Netherlands. It all starts on a sunny summer day in August. I had just arrived back from Budapest, Hungary where I enjoyed the Sziget festival. When catching up on my e-mail, I noticed one message that captivated me more than any other before. It was sent to me by Sarah, an old friend of mine. She works with a group of entrepreneurs and scientists in a Dutch consortium dealing with national security. As we all know, there is great concern over climate change and the possibility of rising sea levels. A large part of the Netherlands is already below sea-level and while we are a developed nation, our dikes too might not protect us indefinitely. Her team had been searching for a new place for the Dutch to live and had apparently found one and were about to land there with an expedition fleet. At first I was skeptical. Very skeptical. I trust Sarah, but we have mapped our planet to a great extent, there is no New World left to discover. The e-mail had all the trademarks of spam, or a well-crafted forgery. Her claims were simply beyond belief. Apparently, using the most sophisticated ten-year old software they could get their hands on, Sarah and her team had discovered one of the most special and perfect islands ever seen by mankind. It was safe from global warming. It was completely deserted and ripe for development. It was economically feasible to settle from our mainland by sea and air connections. It had mountains for skiing, beaches for swimming. Bays and forests. It was too good to be true. While I wondered if Sarah was pulling a prank on me I noticed an image attachment. I opened it expecting one of those images of a crazy looking kitten and a caption calling me gullable in an unflattering way. Not quite. The image you see here is the exact image she sent me. An actual deserted island, matching all the properties they described. I was in shock. Could it be true? An undiscovered island for my grandchildren to maybe one day settle? I decided I should sleep on this to get a clear mind and would get back to her the following morning. I read a few more e-mails and noticed a second one from Sarah, sent hours after the first. Surely I was going to be called a sucker after all. And then I read the most mind-blowing words I had seen in a long while. And another, from a few days later. Well, that was a month ago. Here anyway. Believe me or not, it's all true. I have been there. Many times. I can tell this story now because I have officially been appointed as ambassador for the island to what they starting calling the Old World. All I have to do is to tell their remarkable story. Which started in Sarah's little city. So now it's up to me to ask... Would you like to see it?

Hello! I've finally gotten around to a second entry! I've decided to organize a series of entries around the lines of the Lift, Silent Rise's metro system, and in that vein, this post details Silent Rise's first line: the Sky Line. The Lift map, ever-so-slightly updated (I forgot a station). The Sky Line on a map of the city of Silent Rise, its major districts, and surrounding cities and municipalities. The Sky Line is the oldest of the metro rail Lift Lines, and when it opened long ago, it was called 'The Lift Line' since it ran above streets. It originally ran from Union Down Station -- the national and commuter rail terminus of Silent Rise's modern downtown, Center Down -- through the Meridian district down to Justice Station, where it connected with the Citylink Tramway that encircled historic Mistside. Since that original segment opened, metro rail expanded all over the city and region, and the line was renamed since 'The Lift' came to represent the system as a whole. For awhile it was called the Emerson Line, after the street it ran above for part of its original segment, but eventually it came to be known as the Sky Line due to the fact that it links up both major regional airports -- Cloudloft and Cedar Rise. Cloudloft Airport Cloudloft is the region's largest airport. Situated northwest of the city, it was built 30 years ago and finished a complete renovation and modernization just this year. It is a major hub of Virgin and a focus city of United. It's intermodal transportation center serves the Cloudloft People Mover, mainline rail, commuter rail, and the Sky and Meridian lines of the Lift. Union Down Union Down is one of two major rail termini in Silent Rise, this one serving the modern downtown of Center Down. Many commuter and mainline services terminate here, and the station is served by the Sky and Elder lines, the latter situation belowground. Grand Messenger Grand Messenger is the largest and busiest station of the Lift, connecting seven different lines. It's been rebuilt and renovated several times since the original opening of the Sky Line, and is the destination of countless business commuters in Center Down. Exchange Exchange serves primarily the Financial District, anchored by the golden-spired Silent Rise Stock Exchange. Maple Park Maple Park is an highly gentrified arts-centric neighborhood just south of the Financial District. It contains the Museum of Classic Art and the Victoria Opera House, among other institutions. Justice/Canal Square Justice is the original southern terminus of the Sky Line, and it connects to the Citylink Tramway. It is named in honor of the adjacent Silent Rise Courthouse, a massive, forbidding building. Just to the south is Canal Square, which sits on a turn in the canal that links Mistside and Center Down. Here, the Sky Lines delves belowground to avoid tearing up too much of historic Mistside, and its first subway station is only a single block to the south, offering more direct access to Canal Square. Union Mist Union Mist is the region's original rail terminus, serving Mistside. It now receives far less ridership than Union Down, but still serves as an important rail link in the old city. It also links the Sky Line to the Market and Avery lines. South South Station has an odd location at the southwestern tip of Mistside, where wisdom would suggest not putting a major rail station, but it serves as a highly-trafficked transfer station for riders coming into the city on the commuter lines from the south, transferring them to the Sky, Garden, Loudwater, or Festival lines, or the Citylink Tramway. Admiral Hill Named after the naval officer that first chose to settle the slope, Admiral Hill is a thriving suburb of Silent Rise, its homes on the hill offering amazing views of Loudwater Bay. Its primary station is nestled between Admiral Hill City Hall, just up the first small slope, and the major highways running below. Radio City Once its own metropolis, Radio City was annexed by Silent Rise some fifty years ago. Named after the looming radio tower atop one of its central buildings, Radio City is the region's largest job center outside of Center Down, and the anchor of Cider Valley. Thus, it is heavily served by the Lift, connecting the Sky, Lake, and Avery lines, as well as commuter rail services. Ginger Central Located on the other side of Cider Valley is the city named after the bay it sits upon, Ginger Bay. It was annexed by Silent Rise as well, and is the region's fourth largest job center after Silent Rise, Radio City, and Hourbell. Ginger Central, serving its downtown area, connects the Ginger branches of the Sky and Avery lines. Intercanalis Latin for 'between the canals' (although Intracanalis, 'within the canals,' would today be more accurate as they now form an unbroken circle), the station serves the old estate called Intercanalis that sits above Ginger Bay. It was build in the Middle Ages by a vassal of the king at Maiden Keep, the region's largest castle in Mistfall. Marina City The terminus of the Ginger Branch of the Sky Line, Marina City serves Silent Rise's largest marina, where thousands of the city's wealthiest residents keep their boats. Cedar Rise Airport Cedar Rise is the region's second largest airport after Cloudloft, and its oldest as well. It is served by two major terminals -- the old eastern terminal where the Lift and the commuter lines stop, and the newer western terminal which connects to the Lift via a shuttle in the tunnel under the runway. Well, those are some key stations on the Sky Line. Until next time!
  7. BLUE SUMMIT - City of the Mountain Jay Episode 1 - The Beginning of yet another CJ Hi everybody, today I present the Region and City of Blue Summit. It's situated in the fictional pacific US State of Jefferson. I started this Region some months ago in an attempt to create a livable, green northwestern city. Until now it has grown to about 260.000 residents and I plan to grow it into an impressive Capital with at least one million inhabitants, a really huuge and still realistic airport (which is already 87% complete), a huuuuge seaport (still to come), countless spiderweb-like highways, some skyscrapers and everything else a modern metropolis needs. I'm into giving cities a realistic, green, semi-planned, north-american look. Result is a mixture of northwest- and northeast-us looking cities - but my perspective is Germany and I've never been there except for google maps:) Took me several weeks to inflate my plugin folder to about 8GB and several more weeks to "DAMN" it all into menus - so my cities should look halfway varied. Took me some time to manage NAM, and as every NAM user knows - you never know it all - but i feel quite confident to build most things I can imagine (Look forward for Episode 2 or 3 where I show a huge Four-Level Stacked Interchange with additional service interchange weaved in) I'm not very good at MMPing right now and will need some time to get firm with this... this is real science : But enough talkin' - In this first CJ I will show where I hallucinate Blue Summit to be located and it's political situation. As I mentioned I assume the existence of the State of Jefferson (for background info look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_(proposed_Pacific_state) ) - Blue Summit is the cultural, financial and industrial heart of this stellar state. I'm not sure if I declare it capital, as often in US States the most influential city is not capital - what do you think? (I know- only a question of Flavor) This is the proud State Seal of Jefferson and this the venerable state flag of Jefferson In a day's work I created a neat pacific coast map using nationatlas.gov material (hope I don't get into any copyright problems... ) that shows Jefferson and the location of Blue Summit. Looking at it now I think it's really unspectacular, but it was so much work und you won't find anything similar around so I had to show it. So below you'll find the state borders of Jefferson and the location of Blue Summit at the Tri-Delta formed by the Rivers Klamath, Trinity an a yet to be named river (suggestions) Still needs some polishing, e.g. names and placement of suburbs and unincorporated cities around Blue Summit. I will update it at given time. There's also a huuuuge version (5,42mb): http://www.imagebam.com/image/c63a5f275370158 Just in case you think this CJ will be a damp squib, I'm not sure myself - but I'm really willing to continue this, if I see that at least one or two person seem to have fun reading this. But to show I have material for the near future here some teasers This is a small part inth southeast of the Region which consists of 13x11 large tiles (52kmx44km=2288km²). Complete Regional View in the next episode! Suburb of Curtain, CBD South In the next Episode I will show The City Flag and Seal of Blue Summit, which together took me about 20h hard-GIMP-struggling to create. Can't wait to hear your opinions about them. I'll also show the City Animal (which is already known to you if you read right) and tell about the origin of the the City's name. I will always be very open to opinions, criticism and hints. So don't hold back with it. Not much city-building here, so I hope the first Episode doesn't give any reasons for this PS: Need a lot of help naming stuff on the map. Has anybody suggestions?

Hiigara, TowerDude, Sejr99999, Cennaro, Sylvio Jorge: Thanks all! Welcome to Nijedyk, a city in the North of The Netherlands. In the province of Friesland. Sorry that ik took me so long, but school started again a few weeks ago. I hope you'll enjoy it This is the Nieuwstad market, the building in the middle of the square is the old markethouse. But now, its a café. "De Grote Kerk" stands in the middle of the former Jewish quarter, afront of the old Jewish school and near the old synangogue. Unfortunately, the Jewish school got closed by the Nazi's during World War 2, and the synagogue closed in 1964 because the Jewish community had shrunk too much in World War 2. Now, the school is a public elementary school, and the synagogue is a dance academy. After the Second World War they placed a memorial for all the victims who died in the holocaust. I hope you liked it! comment or rate won't be bad

  12. Warm Valley is a township situated near the bottom of the Valus Mountains in Spandau County. It is bordered by the Townships of Queensdale to the west, Mountain View to the north, Stone Creek to the east, and Thormoor's Watch to the south. Here's an overview of the eastern part of Warm Valley Township and some of Stone Creek Township as well. Here you can view the western part of the Township. This is the local metro station in Warm Valley. Here is a Wal-Mart in the Township's western portion: You can see the new interchange along T1 here, which was recently constructed to serve Warm Valley Township. The road that connects to the highway T1 through this interchange is called the Warm Valley Parkway. Finally, a shot of the local Home Depot late at night.

  15. Hello and welcome back to the great Trafford canyon Today we'll visit one of the canyon's biggest cities: Harrystown. This city was founded 1857 by Theodore Harrys from the Tinion prefecture which is 24 miles away from Harrystown. Today the city's population is about 255,000 inhabitants which is mostly young. Paul Elison rated this city with 7 of 10 stars at the last "most beautiful city" contest what moved the mayor. Fortunately in this city you have no unemployment and no debts towards the State. The city is home of the Harrys reapers, a popular cricket team. REPLIES: Since there are many problems with the layout I want to thank you all for the comments last time ! Let's start ! "In this city we have a lot of green spaces, alleys and neighbourhoods" claims Victor Mans You can see, in the picture below, that there's a lot of modern homes. This is part of the "great restauration" wich consist in replacing the old buildings by new ones: This is the central downtown, with some old buildings and a new one which replaces the "Graham lofts", unfortunately destroyed in one of the century fires: The El Gringo river flows through the city. He's mostly dry: The avenue bridge on the left (pic above) leads to the Imperial theater, which is actually on renovation (no pic. sorry). On the next picture you can see the "Eglise de la Redemption", french church built 1881: The western CBD at night (next 2 pics.): Western CBD days: Harrystown on a foggy, rainy day: Another nice neighbourhood: These are the West-town condos in the 50's and today; you will see that the this hood didn't change over the years: Today at night: I hope you liked this new update ! Don't forget to rate +1 and comment if you liked it ! More soon !
  16. Compton is a city in southern Los Angeles County, California, United States,[3] situated southeast of downtown Los Angeles. The city of Compton is one of the oldest cities in the county and on May 11, 1888, was the eighth city to incorporate. As of the 2010 United States Census, the city had a total population of 96,455.[4] It is known as the "Hub City" due to its geographic centrality in Los Angeles County.[3]Neighborhoods in Compton include Sunny Cove, Leland, Downtown Compton, and Richland Farms. The city is generally a working class city with some middle-class neighborhoods and is home to a relatively young community, at an average 25 years of age, compared to the American median age of 35. Since the 1980s, the city of Compton was popularized in American media due to many hip hop groups and rappers originating from the community, such as the gangsta rap group N.W.A, who are best known for their debut album, Straight Outta Compton, and are widely considered one of the seminal acts of the gangsta rap sub-genre. The city of Compton as well as southern Los Angeles County in general is notorious for its heavy concentration of gangs and gang violence, such as the Bloods, the Crips, and Sureños, which all originated in the Los Angeles area.

Welcome to the Bay Area, a gorgeous area of mountains, bays, coves, and islands. Nearly every city has a waterfront. The area is blessed with a wide array of natural beauty and resources. The beginning of this area is in Frankfurtsville, a modern metropolis of over 80,000 population. Even so, the point where the coast line turns a sharp 90 degree lies the most charming part of town, the Old Bavarian Quarter. Its water views are unprecedented in two directions. It is a wonderful place for a jog, walk, or get ice cream from the many quaint shops in the "old town" and sitting by the bay for a nice afternoon. Oh, don't forget the good wine, as the Bay Area is known for its Mediterranean climate and fabulous wine. A quick teaser. The Bay Area is not just a wine country of course. It is a high-tech center. It has a thriving casino city to be featured here shortly. Here is sunrise and the light on the old Bavarian quarter. An Inn here costs around $300 a night. But it's worth it. Cruise ships dock at the waterfront ferry terminal. Look, the ship is shiny in the morning glow. It's hard to open your eyes. Welcome to another day. Welcome to the Bay Area.
