Been tinkering with textures and thought it'd be fun to make a little detail scene Just cosmetic experimentation

Show us your Energy infrastructure! (power plants, fuel extraction, fuel processing)
noahclem replied to Lucario Boricua's topic in SC4 Showcase
Some neat stuff shared above, on a topic especially relevant these days! Was actually looking for a picture of a squirrel when I stumbled across these old ones around the dam in an earlier city. The idea was to create a city sharing characteristics with Tampere, Finland, where industry built up around hydro power where a large lake flowed into another would eventually result in one of the country's largest manufacturing cities. I thought it was neat to be able to relatively smoothly incorporate three types of water into a small area, as well as find a number of HD bats for details around the dam's power infrastructure. Don't have any plans to return to this project but fun to remember some of the ideas put into it during its early phases- 104 Replies

Entry 79 -- Grid-busting in East Awnsale

Really nice demonstration of grid-breaking prowess! I also thought the roundabout/split turned out really neat--glad you stumbled upon it- 17 Comments

Penthesili Historical Center Regeneration

Really lovely work--the way you compose green spaces is particularly striking here and the layout of your streets and BATs feels effortlessly grid-breaking, cohesive, and realistic. Neat!! -
awesome at least the model files and basics were and are available! Other than the lack of polish the problem with the dam is landscaping/implementation. it was so many years ago that the details are really fuzzy but i somehow or other fenagled it so one could place the dam lots from the top of the dam rather than the bottom, allowing any kind of terrain

Nice work as always! I've seen that building so many times, attended council meetings, had a job interview there (city planning internship of all things), and never though much of it at all--if anything rather bland. I appreciate you pointing out the rather subtle style points I'd missed out on all those years! Very neat to see a Sioux Falls building, even if I've been an expat 10yrs now--possibly first one Cheers
