I think I went a little crazy with pictures here, but I hope you like trhem The "Hindenburgdamm", connecting the island of Sylt with the mainland: ....damn it, I just noticed I forgot to put shadows on for the pictures. I hope you guys still like them, because honestly, I'm too lazy to redo them
  3. Replies: @LoonyMan: Thanks so much Seth! @OMFGKURTWHYDIDYOUMAKEYOURUSERNAMESOCOMPLEX: Thanks Kurty! @Forthwall: Oh yeah, getting that LA traffic just right would require me to overclock the hell out of this computer haha . Always good to hear from you Shub! @ThomasSimpson: Thanks so much Thomas! Yes it did take a long time, but it was a truly rewarding picture. It's also nice now that GTAV is out @ggamgus: Haha, yup. Atlantsia has been on the backburner for awhile huh Emir? Sorry about that :\ @k50: Thank you very much k50 @Schulmanator: Lol, thanks man. @Hellken: No problem, and thanks! @SimCoug: Thank you very much! @Hazani Pratama: Thanks! @elavery: I do too Eugene. Especially now that GTAV is out lol. I've only been there once sadly, but when I become the next Spielburg, I'll make sure to add you to the VIP list @Huston: Aww shoot Kyle, ahh well, glad you enjoyed it. Hey, some of the stuff you've been doing lately is absolutely fantastic. Glad you're still an active part of the community @RepublicMaster: Thank you so much Will! Quick Note: Ahh man, things have been absolutely crazy! Where do I begin? So I'm taking AP Chemistry, AP History, AP French, Algebra II Honors, Introduction to Biblical Ethics, World Literature Honors, Pep Band, Photography, Crew, Model United Nations, Debate, Community Service, and overall my schedule has been FILLED. BUT, it's thanksgiving break, and since it's time to give thanks, I have a lot of thanks to give. Thanks to the Simcity 4 community for playing such a huge part in my life. I'm still trying to be an active part of it, but I think I'm slowly falling away. For all you who comment, lurk, trash talk, appreciate, +1, support, and rate this CJ though, this one is for you So I don't have a formal update for you today, but some pictures have been sitting on my computer for a really long time. Thought I might as well post them. There was supposed to be a storyline, but I've been so swamped in everything, I think I'll just let you imagine it :[ And that's it sadly. It would take a long time to write out the full storyline, and someday I may, but for now, I hope that is enough to say that I am still glad this CJ made it so far in this community, and I really appreciate everything. Thanks y'all. Happy Thanksgiving. See you guys later.

Welcome back to Batmania. Its now 1955 and the islands capital Georgetown is growing fast. The population on the island has now grown to 270 000. The majority of immigration is people fleeing from China. With such a rapid increase there is a massive housing shortage. The majority of building materials and labour are being used to build infrastructure projects around the island. Some housing blocks have been built by the government but the majority of the new immigrants are living in shanties on the outskirts of town. The slums in North Georgetown. Government housing, next to a drain and a tip. The airport is finished but it's not open to civilian use. The RAAF and RAF have been using it as an auxiliary runway for missions in neighboring Malaysia. Would you drink that water? The locals will be. The Telukdalam River has been transformed with a series of dams and drains designed to prevent the Airport from flooding and to supply a steady flow of drinking water. High Ridge Rd, which will cut the time to drive to the central valley by an hour, has been finished. Thanks for viewing. More updates soon.

The vast Federal Offices building looms over Fairview, Desperauex's capital.
  6. Note: Text written in this font are comments from me looking back to my old CJ. The rest comes from the original post. Kapish The city where it all begun Kapish is the old capital of East-Imaginia. It was funded by the Zyghbob-indians about 2000 years ago. The city became about 500 years ago an important buisnesscenter. Nowdays the city has about 110,000 residents, over 50,000 jobs and it is the city of the gouvernement of Imaginia. I've dropped this origin story for a while. Pictures Map of Kapish and surroundings You see that I used no terrain mod yet, but I did already use a water mod. Center of Kapish Currently I don't show route numbers on close-ups anymore. The sidewalk mod is on the pics Jernoij's, but now I use SMP's. Also, the HRS hasn't seen daylight yet. But I did already use the NAM, SFBT's Euro road textures and Thorvin's highway textures. Besides that fact, I don't use Maxis Highway anymore, by far most of it is replaced by RHW nowadays. Funny enough, Kapish is one of the very few cities that still have some MHW remaining, but that will be gone soon... The old Center of Kapish. Nowdays its a suburb The lights are still the ones from Maxis. The first signs of the LRM are to be seen in the Maxtor-update. The first signs of the HRS appears at the first Konrad update at SC4D!This picture is pretty Maxis-ruled, asside from the few road mods and old-dutch houses from vanderaap. The Triono-suburb at the west side of town. See those yellow houses? Those are my very first BATted buildings. And one of the few, because I'm not a good building-BATter, but I make some pretty good traffic BATs And last, but not least: the Kablaski-interchage, which is very busy This interchange has been changed on 12 April 2009. You may also see some signs. These are my very first BATted signs, These signs are not available at the STEX, because I made a new version of them. Oh, and by the way, the Kablaski -intechange has been named after the river that flows through the city, the Kablaski. A while ago this name has been changed to Kareel. Well, that's all, folks! Best Maarten
  7. Well i fixed my NAM install problem so here it is the downtown main road network: And i realy liked how this nature scene looks

Ypsilanti has a strong economy based on the commercial and government sectors. This has led to the creation of a bustling and growing downtown. Due to its spread out nature and lack of major highways, Ypsilanti has a high level of traffic congestion. The city has built a strong commuter rail and subway system radiating from the center of downtown to solve the problem. Downtown is centered on a beautiful boulevard leading to the regional capitol building. The large amount of greenspace as well as the excellent subway and road connections to the rest of the city have led to this area having the most valuable real estate in the city. The east side of downtown is dominated by large government buildings like the regional courthouse, City Park, and residential and office highrises. The city's strong zoning laws have managed to preserve a large amount of natural areas close to the city center. The west side of downtown is Ypsilanti's main financial center with a number of highrises surrounding the City Cathedral. Up next: a tour of Ypsilanti's residential neighborhoods and new suburbs!

Replies @ raynev1, Huston, SimCoug: Thankyou I've made a mosaic showcasing what I've been working on lately. It's still very much a WIP, and the trumpet to the south isn't finished yet. Just wanted to show what's coming up in the future There's also a region city view: Thanks, Sam.
  10. 3. City Centre - A Sunday Afternoon Tour So far we have pretty much avoided the city centre of Woolham. The major feature is the former mouth of the River Wear which has been culverted and is now little more than a basin, it is known as St Asaph's Reach and seperates the city centre into East Bank and West Bank. Very little remains by way of truly historic buildings in Woolham as it was more-or-less levelled by enemy action in WWII so much of what we'll see on our tour is post-war reconstruction. 3.1 Overview I thought best to start with an overview of the city centre so we can orientate ourselves. You can see how the River Wool runs along the bottom of the picture with St Asaph's Reach making its way into the heart of the city, it is also possible to see a glimpse of the culverted River Wear which re-appears to the east. Here you can also get an idea of the road layout with the inner ring road snaking around the CBD and the famous Wear Bridge crossing the Reach and the two major railway terminii; West Quay and Bude Street. 3.2 St Edmund's Square We begin our short tour at St Edmund's Square. West Quay station is located just to the left of this photograph and the town's main bus station can just be seen there too. St Edmund's Church (1871) sits on the site of a medieval church by the same name which was deemed structurally unsafe in 1868 when the spire collapsed after a lightning strike, its replacement is built in what Pevsner described as a 'continental Gothic' style. The square outside was renovated as part of a package of works to improve the cityscape in 2004 and now features a coffee shop, newspaper vendor and tourist information booth. In recent years the area has done much to shake off a slightly ropy reputation it once had for vice and crime. 3.3 King's Market Moving north from St Edmund's we come to King's Market built in 1811 it was once a thriving trader's market but when trade declined in the late-90s the market hall was converted into restaurants and shops and the stalls in the square moved from their traditional trade of fruit and vegetables to selling books, records and vintage clothing. The building to the left of this is the headquarters of Wessex Rail and the one to the north is the Wessexian offices of Barclay's bank. 3.4 Bude Street station Moving further south we come to the end of Wear Bridge and to Bude Street station. It is a small terminus with just four platforms but it forms a major link in the commuter network connecting to the City Ring and the eastern suburbs. The park at the top of this photograph is Cathedral Park, the largest green space in Central Woolham and the building recently constructed on its corner is the Grant Gallery of 2003. It houses a collection of Wessexian paintings and sculpture from 10th century misericords to the most recent works of Sandra Walker and Germaine Portright. 3.5 Cathedral Park And finally a quick look at Cathedral Park. The park was laid out in 1779 by King George IV, it originally had the Bude Palace at one end and the Cathedral at the other, the palace has long-since disappeared after a fire in 1801 but the cathedral still sits at the south end of the main axis. In this photograph we can see the west side with the Observatory (no longer used due to the light pollution of Woolham) and the Park Street tram stop. The white building facing the river is the offices of Wessexian supermarket chain Safeway. I hope this gives you a taste of the city centre, there's certainly a lot more to see and hopefully we'll get to take another look in the near future. Thank you for all your comments, it is good to know people are enjoying my CJ and if you have any constructive criticism or ideas I'd love to hear it.

Welcome ladies and gentlemen. I proudly introduce you to F-ZERO! The galaxy's fastest and most dangerous sport! Here, you will witness thirty fight their way to the prize, the Master Cup of the Grand Prix!  Introduction   F-Zero features thirty pilots race in small plasma-powered hover-cars on large closed circuit tracks that hover above ground. Each car is kept on the track using quantum levitation. Because of this, the tracks can go sideways  Each hover-car can reach speeds of over 930 mph. The tracks range from the short (3 to 5 miles) to the extremely long (100 miles.) Each race last several hours as there may be hundreds to thousands of laps to complete. Each driver receives point correlating to the place he or she placed in. For example, 1st place receives 30 points while last place receives only 1 point. By the end of the Grand Prix, the driver with the highest point total is the Champion.   DANGER! Driving in the F-Zero circuit is extremely dangerous. On average, 2 people die every year due to accidents or falls. At such high speeds, any collision results in a 100% chance of death. Only the most experienced, those with the quickest reflexes, and those with the strongest focus can survive.   ..::Notable Drivers::.. Even though there are thirty drivers on the circuit, these are the top five from last season:  Captain Falcon     -       pilot of the Blue Arrow James McCloud   -       pilot of the Little Wyvern Samurai Goroh    -       pilot of the Fire Stingray Black Shadow      -       pilot of the Black Bull Dr. Stewart           -       pilot of the Golden Fox RACE 1 - KAHONA FOREST Located off the beautiful Kahona Coast is the Kahona Forest Raceway. As it overlooks the Tributen Sea, it is most famous for its1.5 mile long strip of raceway situated sideways with the pilots facing the water. This is known as the Nautical "Anton" Strip in memory of pilot Anton de'Loark who had crashed in the water.   Race: Kahuna Forest Planet: Aonia Length: 5 Miles Laps: 1000 Average Lap Time: 22 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUSxabS5_qM Here is the starting line. Tensions between drivers have already begun to mount. Antonio Guster and Samurai Goroh were seen in an embroiled fight before the race. Black Shadow, last years Champion, will do what he can to keep Captain Falcon from taking the top spot. Last year Black Shadow managed to narrowly beat Captain Falcon on the circuit but the Captain is confident this year. His only words for his rival were, "Show me ya moves!" Finally, the young and popular Jack Levin was challenged by the veteran Silver Neelson who feels threatened by the novice's rise to fame.  They're off! As they pass the first turn and inversion, Bio Rex and Billy lead the pack with Captain Falcon and Super Arrow not far behind! The initial speed of this first turn is around 200 mph!   Several dozen laps in, we see that James McCloud and Black Shadow have taken commanding leads out on the Nautical Strip but Captain Falcon and Pico trailing not far behind them. The speeds on this strip can reach 900 mph! Things have gotten so intense that the local animals have come to see the race.   Captain Falcon has taken the lead! Beastman and Leon are on his tail! Dr. Stewart had dropped to last due to an emergency refueling but there are still several hundred laps to go. This is anyone's race!   As night time sets in, only a about 100 laps remain. Black Shadow has taken a strong lead while Antonio Guster and Samurai Goroh fight for second. In fourth, Jack Levin holds strong.   It's the final lap! James McCloud holds a strong lead while Captain Falcon, Black Shadow, and Bio Rex all fight it out for second place! Not far behind are Draq and Jack Levin! These last few seconds are crucial!   Victory! Sabotage! The race is over! As James McCloud managed to keep his speed and win the race, Black Shadow rammed Captain Falcon to take second. This had dropped Captain Falcon out of the top ten! He will not be pleased but Black Shadow is happy with stealing second. Here are the top ten finalists of Race 1:      1st:      James McClou d -     2nd:     Bla ck Shadow -     3rd:     Bio Rex -    4th:    Jack Levin -      5th:    Samurai Goroh -    6th:    Draq -    7th:    Antonio Guste r -   8th:   Bea stman -   9th:   Dr . Stewart -  10 th: Jody Sum  m  ers   This concludes today's events ladies and gentlemen. I hope you enjoyed the intensity and the drama in our season opener of Kahona Forest!   (This is my first CJ, thanks for viewing!)
  12. I make the airport as efficient as I can , by making easy transportation. As U can see in the picture I've put Subways ,Monorails and Trains nearby. and also for people who prefer to drive , I've Put Nearby Highways and Avenue .
  13. For a quick response; Thank you everybody for your messages, and those I can go more in depth I will Thanks MaskedBandit, means a lot for me to get a comment from a RCT legend (though that don't really matter in a different game ). And yes all those trees, and everything else you see there, are lovingly hand-plopped, nothing grown here. Thank you Ace, and I have done that (I think can't remember) for this...either that or medium setting xD. And yes it is a float plane, but you ever heard of imagination or an amphibious plane Cessnas can land on both land and sea after all Now lets get to the good bit! We start on the eastern shore of the river in Bastilia, called the River Vearsaile, and this is rather south of the CBD near the branching off of the rivers, this little plaza here is one of the main attractions in this area, with the old church standing in front of the newly built tower that you see, only built in 2012. Here is another view of the area, showing the prominent reason why this is a major attraction, Church Lane, being the equivalent of Saville Row in London, with only the poshest of shops, though there is still spaces for the poshest of AIN companies But with the major retail area of the section, there is also the beginnings of the residential area of Bastilia, bordering the suburb of Islington, and as you can expect, like Church Lane, they are some of the most expensive retail in the area (though not THE most expensive in Bastilia). And here is Islington's claim to fame, the home stadium for the AIN Club League Islington Wolves called the Sp33d Sports Stadium, seating just under 42,000, opposing it is a row of apartments which have been known to be the exact opposite to the houses just across the river of it, which is really cheap because of the rowdyness of football crowds, in the shot you can also see Islington Railway Station, a part of the Capital Railways network and just around 5 mins from the nearest station in the city. And because I have not much else to say, here are some other complementary images of Islington, including council housing, industry, a stop in the ERBus network and a lot more residential houses. See you again soon.

    # Before I start, I want to admit that my English is not too good, since it is my foreign language. So, if there any mistakes that couldn’t be understand or become a misunderstanding, feel free to correct me. OK, this is my first journal. Before we get into, I will tell one or more things about me in SimCity 4. I just started to play this game in about one month ago. I’ve known this game first time by a thread in one of Indonesian forum, Kaskus, that is the largest Indonesian community. I learnt many information enough about SC4 in there. So, if you are also from Indonesia, and you are ‘Kaskuser’ (a name of Kaskus member) let me know you so we can meet in Kaskus And finally I’m interested in custom contents and mods. Then I was led into some exchange website, like Simtropolis and SC4Devotion. And then I joined and began to download many interesting mods, maps, lot’s, bat’s, etc. Thanks to many uncounted persons that have gave their efforts to make many and many help for new player like me by provide information, tutorials, tips, etc. So much I played a city in different region, but it never complete due one or more reason. I keep delete the old one and played the new one. One reason is, it was occur whenever I installed new plugin, and resulting the crash. Until, I decide to make a journal and take a serious to my region and city. I would not install new plugin or at least minimalize it to this region, because I have all what I need. The region I played currently is called Bintan Island. This region was created by an Indonesian BATter, roe99 – he is also a member of Simtropolis and has gave many contributions through his BAT buildings to STEX. His BATs are awesome The original Bintan Island region made by roe99 is 20 x 20 small city in size. But, I have edit it slightly just to remove ‘Bintan Island’ text-shaped islands This region was based on real map. A few preface for Bintan Island. ======================================================================================================================================== ======================================================================================================================================== Alright, back to the game.. Since Indonesia is a tropic climate, so I’ll play with tropical-theme. To achieve the condition, I use Yucatan Terrain mod by LBT and rock mod (dark igneous) by dogfight. And for the trees, I use HBS Tropical Flora God Mode, NBVC CP Tropical Plants, GDV Mayor Tropical Tree Set, SFBT Tree Replacement Mod, etc. As for the Introduction, I will post some teaser pictures (I just played one city already. It is under development, but it almost done). Here are some teaser pictures of my city. The coast of Kijang City. It has a Car & Passenger Ferry terminal as a transportation mode on the sea, and 2 GDV Yacht Clubs as the recreational for inhabitants. Meanwhile, the water is a Dark Blue by Drunken Water Mod. Here is the road. For the realistic reason, I constructed it with nearly random direction. Smoothing the curve using NAM curve. The road texture is Euro-style (from SFBT Euro Road Texture). It seems similar with Indonesian road commonly – it is dashed white line. And the last, here is some part of residential area. There are no high building here, so don’t hope to see even a sky crapper. I’m intend to make a rural, or small town. To suit it, the houses I use are Slum Set (ex. BLaM FBP Shanties Pack), BLS House, etc., as you can see the picture below. I also keep the standard Maxis building (yeah, gaming viability reason) Note: My hometown is one of cities in Bintan Island. So I know the actual condition more or less here, start from the city name to the building condition. Notice that the road is not constructed appropriately to the real one. I just condition it with my imagination and gameplay viability. I play it with no cheating, so I need some strategy to get money. The only cheat I use is “DrawPath” as for debugging to construct RHW interchange. And also, the house, commercial, and industry building is not same to the real one. They just a reflection to describe to the real one. Last words, thanks for reading my short introduction city journal Feel free to comments and if there any question just say it. It would be pleasure if there any suggestion to me for better development

CAUTION: I'M NEW TO MODS, SO I'M NOT THAT GOOD WITH THEM __________________________________________________________________________________ The World Trade Center Plaza overlooks the Johns River, at the tip of Financial Peninsula... ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Post comments, advice, anything is accepted.
  14. i re-founded the downtown, the simulation of it is about 100 or 200 years old but its not based on actual time built in real life its based on how long it takes me to build it.
  15. @KonstantinII: Thanks! Not really many wooden buildings around here, but for sure they're not as futuristic as you would like. @nirwanda: Thank you! I try to aim for a good recreation, and that Regio DB lot helps so much to that. @kelistmac: ¡Muchas gracias! Today you'll see something inspired in your very own Berlin CJ. @ROFLyoshi: Thank you! Definately not much wood in on around Berlin. Perhaps in the Deep Germany... @Benedict: Thanks! I try to have everything under control... Until somebody takes a Jägermeister bottle out of the fridge. @Huston: Thank you! Not a really complicated layout, just like the towns around here. @spursrule14: Thanks for commenting! You can get this seawall pack on the STEX, here I think they look quite OK for making a canal. @SimCoug: Thank you! I also love this variety when walking on the streets. Pre-war, commie, modern glassy buildings... on the same street! Friday afternoon on the Fachhochschule für Technik und Wissenschaft Ihlingen (FHTW Ihlingen). This means one thing: the international students are planning the night via Whatsapp. Lessons are about to be over and the action will be from now on in Herdestraße residence hall. The FHTW Ihlingen is one of the several universities of applied sciences around in the area, specially reputed for its computer science and biotechnology studies. Together with TH Wildau and HTW Berlin, Berlin's eastern metropolitan area is well served by these very practical-approach oriented universities. Lessons are over and the students remaining at the campus head back to their homes, and the international and interchange students head back to Herderstraße Residence Hall, a short walk far from the university at the river's other side. Ihlingen Herderstraße Studentenwohnheim is, as many other residence halls in the State of Brandenburg, maintained by the Studentenwerk Potsdam. This residence hall, offers 240 rooms with a total capacity for 480 students in both individual and double rooms, each room counts with its own kitchen and bathroom. There is also a room for bike keeping, laundry, meeting/parties room and several more amenities. Inside each room, the collective of international students self-known as "Herdestrassers" (according to their Whatsapp chat group) are deciding the whats, whos, whens, wheres and hows of tonight's party. After several hours of high level negotiations, it is decided to spend the night in a Berlin club, but only after a pre-heating session at the residence hall. And before all pre-heating sessions, it is necessary to drop by the nearest supermarket to buy some reserves. There's an Aldi supermarket very near of the residence hall, placed at the corner between Königs Wusterhausener Chausee and Landratstraße. The students bring back home a 20-bottles Hasseröder beer box and a liquor bottle for shots. While the sun is coming down, they have a shower, dinner and begin drinking beer. At some point, the boys appear with their not-perfectly ironed shirts and lots of aftershave, meanwhile the girls put inside their bags their far-too-high-heels shoes and give the final touches to their make up; all of them, with a beer on their hand. Later than expected, as usual; that heterogeneous 11 people group, 7 boys, 4 girls, leave Herderstraße in order to get to Ihlingen station by walk. There are no buses at this time anymore. They have to walk Landratstraße down, where the Märkisch-Niederbarnim Landrat and Landratsamt stands. This means Ihlingen is the capital city of the Märkisch-Niederbarnim Landkreis (a kind of "county") and that red bricks building is the county goverment seat. Looks like there is some last-minute work to do before the weekend. The group keeps walking also passing by the Church, which is nicely lit at night. Temperatures have dropped lately and there is not much people at Kirchplatz. On Summer Fridays, people just go to the square with some chairs and beer to relax and have a chat, but this is an image we won't be seeing until next year. After a short walk, the group finally reaches the Bahnhofsvorplatz, Ihlingen's commercial and social life center. The area's restaurants and cafés are open and taken by the crowd who has decided to go dinner outside tonight. Some of the guys stop in a nearby Sparkasse teller machine to get some money for tonight, while the sparkling fountain changes its colours. Once the regional train arrives, they ride on it while finishing the remaining beers and, 15 minutes later, they finally reach... The club is not far away from Alexanderplatz station, so they just leave the bottles in the street (some bottles collector will get them in a few minutes), the girls put on their high heels and they all head for a party night near the Fernsehturm.
  16. Replies UndercoverNinja12-Thanks. The amount of images I was able to get actually surprised me. I didn't know if I had enough for an entry until I actually took all of them. malibu_man-Thank you. I'm glad to here that people enjoy the little snippets I add to the images. I'd do more zoomed out images, but I have had CTD issues in the past when trying to get them so I am a little hesitant when it comes to taking them. Sunr-Thanks. That Brooklyn Village was very troublesome to develop, as all W2W districts can be. I was surprised it actually turned out that well. Programming note: Entries will now be posted on Wednesdays instead of Mondays. RL has made it highly unlikely that I would be able to get them up on Mondays. Also, The next entry is not likely to be Downtown Bella Vista as I am having to work on creating demand to fill it out. Development Teaser-Segmented Sound Walls Since this journal is titled Building Santa Bella, I figured this would be as good a place as any to tease the side projects that come up as a result of creating this journal. Today, I am unveiling the first of these, my Segmented Sound Walls. Developed in large part because there hasn't been a decent set of sound wall developed in years, and no existing set I could find had walls for FA pieces, this set is my personal attempt to fill this void. These walls are prop based, meaning they are extremely flexible. They are also based on a segmented design seen along I-43 in Milwaukee, WI (and other places I'm certain) which means that rather than trying to conform to the slope, each segment is raised or lowered slightly. The downside of this technique is usually that it results in large gaps under the walls, and while that it is still the case, the sgmented wall approach means that the walls must be placed on some very steep slopes for this to become apparent. Currently, I have 3 out of the 4 props needed for the set as well as all but 3 lots created. I still have to mod all the lots and do some polishing, but I thought they looked fairly presentable. NOTES: 1) This picture was taken in a plugin free zone. Don't worry it's just faster to work this way. 2) A version of each lot without the base texture will be available. 3) At the moment this set has no extenders for going under other networks. They will be added later. REFERENCE:

I know that Arabic script is written from right to left Though I couldn't find a decent enough Arabic type writer/ converter and the one you provided certainly helped! Thanks a lot Welcome again to the Gurivian Emirates, a conglomerate of [Neridean] Emirates with climates varying from the very cold and temperate to the radically hot and dry. In one of Gurivia's southern-most Emirates is the region known as 'Al-Mohiba' or 'The Majestic [south]' (المهيبة ). It's one of the country's poorest regions with a regional poverty rate standing at over 21%. Unfortunately, the regional government authorities managing the emirate has suffered heavily following the power struggle and democratic movement crisis that the country endured through 3 years of continuous struggle and civil war. Now with a seemingly stable 'democracy' instated, the poor emirate of Al-Mohiba is prepping for changes to create a more upscale image in the international community and bring about tourism and commercialism to the impoverished kingdom. As the money brought about by the spoils of oil flood the nation, Al-Mohiba's shares of oil reserves in its own swath of territory has regional governments scrambling for the planning tables to get the region moving again. In one of Al-Mohiba's major cities, Dalhen (دلحين), change is still moving at a snail's pace, with an airport still needing upgrades and grass pasturing and an entire city and its residents to employ, refurbish and construct ever upwards. Near Dahlen's still inadequate international airport, a railway line lined with slum housing and various mosques paint the picture of a city in need of attention. With the construction process beginning to take shape, these areas will soon be the picture of gleaming city hotels and commercial hotspots, pushing the poor away into other parts of the city. Though with plans to build and generate more jobs within Dalhen, the poor and unemployed may be able to soon find themselves in a better situation. Hopefully and as long as all goes according to plan. Without another government collapse to dictatorial rule and martial law to stand in the way of development. Thanks for viewing. (Sorry for the lack of pics, just a mosaic today )
  19. Silky Ridge is a little hill on the former Linkou (Wood Entrance) plateau. 絲線嶺,是原本林口台地上的一座小山。 After the sea level rise, this 150m hill has become plains. 在海平面上升後,這座150公尺高的小山變成了平原。 The Wugu Industrial area and the township of Nankan has escaped the flooding, 原本的五股工業區以及部份南崁市區逃過一劫, thus the area has become one of the most prosper city of the region. 因此這塊區域成為附近最繁華的地帶。 A traditional "little-bridge-flowing-water" Chinese garden park sits behind a large National Residence commune. 一座中國傳統的「小橋流水」亭園式公園座落在國宅後面。 Luckily, the Silky Sidge remains its beautiful scene of her betula birch covered ridgeline. 絲線嶺,是以油桐花和樺樹在夏天開滿了山頭,因而得名。 Silky Ridge, to be continued... 絲線嶺(待續)...
