Replaces Rain with a light occasional rain. Does not affect snow. I made this for use with the "[CC] Marine" Climate, where it only ever rains. I like to use this climate with "[CC] Antilles" starts (Palms only) and the "[CC] Desert" or "[CC] Sand Lakes" maps. Removed the fogs (mostly) and stopped it getting dark when the light rain sprinkles down. This mod can be used with any climate and start type, I just had those in mind when making it. -

Because mine is bad in English, I had to translate my text from in German into the English one on-line. For possible grammar mistakes I ask beforehand for excuse. I look for these canals illustrated in the picture... under "Storm Drain" as well as under "Canals" I nowhere find this, unfortunately. Can somebody help me there??? I would be glad about an answer very much. Greetings from germany

Found this cool mod in the Workshop that adds a whole new level to water management, mainly to do when it rains.. In that when it rains it will actually have an effect on your city and that it is not just a cosmetic feature as it is now.. If this mod works as intended (yet to try it) then this will add more depth and complexity to an already awesome game.. Quoted from the Workshop page.. Rainfall brings simulation depth and new gameplay elements to the primarily cosmetic game concept of dynamic weather that was introduced with Snowfall. When the game is raining, this mod adds a water source for each building that pours water onto your streets. You must create and manage a storm drain network in order to protect your city from suffering the effects of flooding. You should be aware of and plan out the grading of any zoned roadways and add storm drain inlets to any low points in the roads. Options for Storm Water Management include surface ponds, underground detention systems, canals, and riverine channels. http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=698395457

Central Mookimia: Castle in the Rain The Central Mookimia District hosts several towns and is bisected by a large, strategic body of water. A rocky outcrop, the Schloßberg, houses a castle. The castle, Katzenschloß, is the seat of power for the district government. And it's pretty cool too. The governor has a home and office in the castle and most government functions for the district are conducted here. The Mookimia Turnpike offers transit connections to the port of Purkeyluo to the north and Franzikoi District to the south as well as direct east-west travel across the region. Doi Agaa is a cluster of homes and businesses surrounding the Schloßberg. Doi Agaa is well known for its famous canine-feline sports event: the Great Squirrel Chase. Cats and dogs compete to see who is best at chasing squirrels up the Schloßberg. Winners get ribbons and all participants get shirts. Of course, dogs will wear shirts. But I wish you luck getting one on a cat! (Most cats will sleep on them though if they are properly placed in the corner of the couch.) Recent heavy rains have caused many residents to take shelter in the Katzenschloß. There isn't really a flood, per se, but no one likes getting their paws wet. Humanoids have been contracted to put up additional scratching posts so that the feline population will not get bored. Newly elected Mayor Grant Westwill, who defeated Noah Arkbuilder in a hotly contested election, ran on a platform calling for climbable drapes to be installed on every window to give the felines more fun indoor activities. With all of the rain they've had recently, it looks like Grant was a pretty smart cookie after all! No umbrella needed when these pictures were taken!

Ashville Metropolis Hits 700,000! ; Coastland Metropolis Grows
pcwhiz24 posted a City Journal entry in The World
(Sorry about the lack of update yesterday, this one took a while to make. Images are 1080p, to see them much larger, click on them) (Yellow Text is construction crew, Green Text is news crew/author, Red text is Dennis Brown (mayor of Ashville cities) and Blue text is Jack Green (Mayor of Coastland Metropolis.) Breaking news! Ashville population now at 700,000! Mayor Dennis Brown now has his eyes on becoming the first city to EVER to break 1 million population on Hard mode, as he approaches the 3/4th mark. We're live here at Ashville Metropolis, Anything you got to say mayor Brown? "I...I can't believe I actually made it that far, Ashville has stopped growing after 600,000 but then it bloomed again. I look forward to making the headlines and breaking this barrier. I know that getting those last 300,000 is going to be much more difficult, but I'm going to do it, I want to break 1 Million Sims!" Wow, your population is at 728,000 right now! At the rate yours is growing, you'll definitely hit the barrier. Coastland Metropolis will be the 2nd city to hit 1 million on hard, but that's still a great honor for them! "Hey, I gotta thank Mayor Green, if he didn't build that high speed rail, this city would be gridlocked!' "Did you not hit some kind of demand cap or anything?" "Yes, but like any responsible mayor, I Googled my city's issues and found several solutions' Good, well thank you for your time! Keep up that city! GOOGLE? You used GOOGLE to solve your city's problems?! Ah, I admit I used it a couple times too, helped me break my demand cap. (Commercial area at Ashville Metropolis) 'Mayor Green, Your city is at 520,000 sims, we're the biggest cities in this region...But gosh this is getting harder! I actually wiped out ALL my dirty industry from my city and built it up north, connecting it to I-45. YOU DID WHAT?! See for yourself: (The Great Coast region) (4:57 PM) I know you moved the industries to another tile, but mayor you're showing no regard to the environment, you're disrespecting mother nature. I know you're trying to reach 1 million sims, but at what cost? "It's worth it" __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5:50 A.M. Good Morning! We have recently widened our main avenues, and now we're going to connect Interstate 45, with interstate 565, to go west. We're going to build a 4 way interchange! Here are the plans: The highway that runs through Coastland City is now Interstate-35, and route 466 will merge with another highway (In the yellow) and intersect with interstate 45, and head up north. I-45 will intersect with I-35, and Highway 565, and go west. The red line there is Coastland Avenue (for clearer picture) and the purple are the monorails. Also, notice the new towns that were started, now Ashville has some towns built to the right, and a new one in our County called District 121, which, like District 105, is mostly of medium wealth houses. (New York Style) Today, we're headed to the one on the left, deemed as: Interchange City 1. (I-City 1 for short) Anyways, let's head outside and...RAIN?! (6:01 A.M.) Rainy morning Downtown Coastland Metropolis Aw man! I forgot the weatherman called for rain ALL DAY. We'll have to keep building anyways, come on! We're headed to I-City 1! By the way, those two water towers you see there were the VERY first ones ever built. They've been dead for a while, but they're landmarks now, for historical purposes. Drivin' through our newly widened Coastland Boulevard: (6:09 A.M.) Raining pretty hard... (6:11 A.M.) Coastland Boulevard intersects 45th Avenue You might need this... Press play... http://youtu.be/p7XmVCfC_LY Highway 35... (6:17 A.M.) We're here! Woah, it's swampy out here. And POURING! Man, it's raining cats, dogs, elephants and monkeys! (7:28 A.M.) Let's see if anyone's out here.. I see someone! Let's ask that him if anyone's working! (Rolls down window) Hey! Is anyone working out here? Mayor Green is that you? No, we're not working today, the Area's closed due to the weather. We're packing up for today, the rain has made the area too dangerous and muddy, so we decided to take today off. Here's what we were working on yesterday: We couldn't find the right piece, but thanks to a Simtropolian, who helped us find the right piece (I think his name was Indiana Joe or somethin'). We were able to finish the main interchange. Well, what are ya'll working on then? We're putting up the signs and finishing the connections. Lights were finished, here's some images from yesterday: (1:52 PM) (Interstate 45 (East to West) intersecting Highway 565 (South to North) (11:24 PM) Yesterday Sorry to disappoint you'all! I know you want to show the simtropolians how we build our highways... This is jank, we wanted to see some construction. Now what are we going to do to entertain these people? Why don't you drive around, and show them the new town you built over there, let's see... District 121? And then Coastland Farming? I heard they're building new apartments! Nice! Let's go! Yeah....We get a lot of rain in the summer, but usually in the afternoon. This storm season's an active one this year. 8:24 A.M. Let's see...go to Techville's SPUI interchange, then take a right and go north to District 121... Here we are! This is a little town I started to satisfy some of that middle class demand. They're some nice suburbs for people who prefer to live in houses away from the city. Here it is: (8:46 A.M.) Umm Mayor, what a lovely town you got up there, would be nice if I could actually SEE IT. Oh, sorry about that, it's too high up, but if you look really closely you can make out the avenue, which comes from Techville (south, or bottom of above image). The neighbor connector is covered by the cloud but it's right around the bottom of the avenue. Here are some closer shots: (8:50 A.M.) Main city streets soaked as rain comes down, water running down the roofs and backyards appear soaked too. (The town's main avenue is to the right of this image) Most Sims are indoors right now, watching TV, or just doing stuff to pass the time. On the left side of the avenue (actually called Tech Avenue) are the estates, these houses have bigger lots, with bigger front and back yards: (9:01 A.M.) Elementary school closed for summer I love these neighborhoods, they're peaceful, and the smell after the rain is amazing. Alright, let's go to Highlands, I need to buy some food at the new Walmart they built (I'm not mayor of highlands) we'll take the monorail! We have arrived... (9:25 A.M) 50% off back to School special for only today! Even the rain won't stop these shoppers... Wow... Is this rain going to stop at all? Alrighty we finally found a parking lot... (Courtesy of Google) My boots are soaked! Let's see... Random person: Hey, aren't you the mayor of Coastland? Yes, me and my friend. We're shopping for food. Can I have your autograph? Hey I'm a mayor not some famous celebrity! You will me if you beat Ashville Metropolis and reach 1 million people first! Sorry, I'd rather pay respect to mother nature and get 2nd than to build all that dirty industry. _____________________________________________________________________ In fact, here's an image from yesterday of new growth: (2:20 pm) New buildings in Coastland Metropolis (Same place right now) Those new buildings got the population to 518,000 Sims. We'll see you around! See ya later! Now let's check out those apartments at Coastal Farming: (10:01 A.M.) Still raining! Alright, I'm waiting this rain out, We're going to Coastal Metropolis, (The city down the beach) hopefully it's not raining there too hard!) Here's an image of where we're going (taken yesterday) (Yesterday, 3:40 PM) Coastland Boulevard) Yes, that's Coastland Boulevard, This avenue cuts through Coastland City (north of this image) and Cuts through Coastland Metropolis. The mayor of Coastal Metropolis widened his stretch to 6 lanes, and built Hi-tech industries and commercials. Here we are! (11:24 A.M.) Quite a drive isn't it! I drove through all that rain, but the rain finally stopped here! Children are out playing in puddles, the fresh after rain smell in the air... These roads are pretty wet though. This storm's moving west to Ashville now, they're getting rained on. Anyways, I'm going to stay here for tonight, and we'll see you again soon! I hope you all enjoyed this big update, and sorry about the rain, it's only nature. Thank you all for reading! Remember if you want to hear the history of Coastland, check out the first 3 updates. We'll see you later! -
"WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS..." TEASER It's looking a little bit wet outside in Holt District today. Maybe I'll take my boat to work today... That's it for today. Replies next update.

Evidence of proper water physics in SC5?
Kootenay4 posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Fresh surface water (rivers, lakes above sea level) has been my top wanted feature for SimCity since forever. Recently I stumbled across some things that seemed to hint that this would be present in the game (OMFG YES!!!) but upon further research, I couldn't find anything else. First and most clearly here: http://www.wired.co....hind-the-scenes "The first is a hugely refined environmental system... Gravity affects water, forcing it to run downhill and pool naturally." And: http://www.treehugge...-your-life.html "...coal dirtied water shall travel downstream..." clearly implies the presence of flowing rivers and streams in-game. Finally here: http://simcity.wikia...in_SimCity_2013 "Hydro electric turbine ... has a risk of destroying the surrounding environment by flooding" (seems to imply the construction of a dam, which would necessitate a watercourse with changing elevation. I'm not sure if these are just typos or misinterpretations, but I am getting somewhat hopeful that there will finally be at least semi-realistic water in SC5. If anybody has more insider information on this topic, thanks in advance.- 7 Replies

Welcome back to Autumn Dank I haven't finished the tile I'm working on right now so I've just put together a few new mosaics of some old stuff. Enjoy. It's unpleasantly moist or humid; damp and, often, chilly. It's Autumn Dank. Replies Schulmanator: Impressive! Their effort is a great success. Thanks Shulmanator, glad you enjoyed it. Jacob Guajardo: Wow I am speechless great work. Sweet, thank you. 10000000000000: Simply gorgeous pictures! Great photoediting effects to accompany them Great to hear that from you, thanks. Simul8ter8: WOW........................ the end..... hey...hey you.... what building is that at the end? Thanks Simul8ter8, I think the building you are talking about is called Equity Tower and you can find it on the ST/Exchange. dubaidude303: Great work agian dude! Hey dude, thanks. ggamgus: Yet another epic entry. BTW, Daniel Craig is mah favorite! Brosnan and Connery can't compare! >:-D It certainly turned out that way, thanks ggamgus. BTW, that's blasphemy! Can't wait to see the new Bond film. spursrule14: James Bond is my favorite film character and movie series EVER. I grew up on Bond, and am still pretty much obsessed w/ Bond...and still pretending I'm Bond myself lol.........I grew up w/ Pierce Brosnan so he will always be my favorite...but Daniel Craig may be the coolest Bond of all of them, although I always wished they wouldn't make him have to be so built. But Connery was big too...Craig is definitely a Connery-type. I think the reason DC seems strange as Bond to some people then, and still, may be because he came after PB, which is a very different contrast. If DC had existed right after Connery then I think no one would think DC as Bond is strange.............oh, and excellent work on this entry lol Thanks spursrule. Still pretending to be Bond, jokes. Who doesn't want to play Bond once and a while? But be careful with that license to kill. I feel Daniel Craig had the good fortune of being in a great Bond film, Casino Royal, but I don't think he really embodies Bond in the same way Connery and Brosnan did. It's not that I have i problem with Bond being muscular, that's cool, but I also want Bond to be really suave, I don't think DC had that. Also, Quantum of Solace is pretty bad, not the worst Bond, but down there. I really like Brosnan because he was kind of a prefect cross between Connery and Moore. Unfortunately, PB was in a couple of terrible Bond films (World is not Enough and Die Another Day) and that shredded his Bond cred a little. See you at the next Bond film . Mayorjacks: O_O oh...my.....*faints* BTAVO SIR Thanks Jetty Jockey: Wow ! Very modern, very colorful. Great stuff ! Thanks Jetty, glad you enjoyed it. Hazani Pratama: Beautiful,I love it! Thanks for your continued support Hazani. IL.: it is very inspiring Glad it inspired you IL. blunder: Loving the canals! And you would take Dalton and Lazenby over Craig? Eh....that would be tough to do for me, i hated those 2. Thanks blunder. That's just my opinion. I don't necessarily blame Craig for his portrayal of Bond, but they toned down the charisma way too much and it hurt him I think. SimCoug: Yes, Connery is the best Bond... hell, he's the best everything. Those canals are awesome - makes me want to take a trip down them in one of those fancy boats. Thanks SimCoug! You're frikin' right, Connery is the best everything. He's a regular Midas, and he ages well like a fine wine! Ryno917: Gorgeous! Where did you get the avenue pedestrian overpasses? I haven't seen any ped bridges that large before. Thanks Ryno, bripizza is the answer I believe. Haljackey: Good work! Very vivid images! Thanks, glad it added some color to your day. hammysonata:Amazing work! I love the humor you use also ("Free pedal boats for everyone") Well, I mean, who doesn't want a free pedal boat? Thanks. stocktons_pimp: this is inspirational... i think i'll put some canals in my downtown like that Glad you were inspired! Do it! hahei: Nice! Moore More, I say when it comes to James Bond. I hate Craig, he's just a hunk of muscle with barely any personality. We certainly see eye to eye on this subject. Moore was a great Bond, some of the films he was in weren't, but that doesn't matter. Man with the Golden Gun is one of my favorite Bond films. Did you see the graph that came out recently that shows the kill count from each Bond film? In Man with the Golden Gun, Bond kills only one person. Frikin bad ass! NMUSpidey: I'd argue that Lazenby was actually in one of the better Bond movies, the greatly underappreciated "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". It had an interesting, complex plot, good locations, it followed the book almost word for word, and Lazenby put in a pretty good performance in the saddest ending for the franchise. I'm fine with Daniel Craig, his coldness matches up with the character from the books quite well. Roger Moore was goofy, but I can't help but love all his movies, too. At some level, all of them work for me! Anyways, have I never visited this journal before? If not, I am ashamed, because these are amazing pictures, and this entry is especially beautiful with the canals being featured. Did you include the Morris Marina? I hope the people there watch out for falling pianos... Glad you stopped by Spidey. I am a huge fan of OHMSS and I totally agree with your analysis even though I didn't read the book. I feel Lazenby gets a lot of flack because he was basically replacing Connery at the time and had he just been Connery's successor rather than his replacement he would have been recognized as a great Bond. Liszak: My god that....that's just you know...WOOW! Thanks Lisazak. whistlewind12: wow.... Thanks peep12: where did you get that tower in the 9th picture great work. Thanks for your support, that building was acquired on the ST/Exchange. mk11232: Which street mod is that in the 13th picture? The one where the street goes to elevated with the separated lanes in the very bottom of the pic? Thanks for your support mk11232. (I've answered your question in a message) Benedict: Great update - and congratulations, you're back at number one on BTT this week. Wow, that is...terrifying! Thanks for stopping by.

Will SimCity 5 have weather such as rain, snow, blizzards, dry heat, humidity, wind, deserts, thunderstorms, etc.? In a sort of unrelated note, will there be an option for disasters to occur naturally without the use of a disaster tool? If there's weather, I wanna see lightning strike buildings, people, cars, etc. Thanks!

Teirusu "Rain Tool" Additional God Mode Terrain Tools 2 This plugin file contains the 'Rain Tool' that is needed to construct land bridges or plop water lots above sea level. The water created by the rain tool will only last for a single game session. When the city tile is reopened the rain water will no longer be there. The blank terrain can then be filled in with any ploppable water as desired. To use these tools, extract the file and place the folder in Documents\Simcity4\Plugins. To access the God Mode tools in game you need to press ctrl+alt+shift and click the God Mode icon. While the rain tool has no dependencies, an excellent alternative although not essential, is to use the following mod, by Warrior: God Terraforming in Mayor Mode God Terraforming in Mayor Mode Compact: This useful mod, places the God mode tools alongside the Mayor mode tools in the Mayor Mode terraforming menu and replaces the need to ctrl+alt+shift to access the God Mode tools. The Aditional God Mode Terrain Tools 1; by Tropod, is available here: Additional God Mode Terrain tools (This plugin file adds four additional terrain tools to the ‘God Mode’ menu.) - Cori edit: Fixed linkys and missing images. -
All shall bow down before me... For I... have created rain. There seems to be three more hidden terraform tools in RH: Lake, Spring, and Rain. Spring seems to be a stream creating tool... unfortunately it looks broken. I can''t get it to do anything. BUT, Lake and Rain work!... somewhat. Basically, they fill in depressions in the terrain with bodies of water at just about any altitude. UNfortunately, the water they create isn''t saved.
